Tuomas adjusted his glasses and knelt to help her pick up the heavy volumes. "It's alright. No harm done."

She looked up to apologize again, and came face to face with the boy. She could feel herself beggining to blush so she stood up and placed the books down on the table. Her breaths were a tad heavier than usual, and her voice was gentle but nervous. I-I really do apologize. Though I'm supposed to be perfect and flawless, I do tend to make mistakes. I'm quite the clumsy little vampiress...

After gathering a few more, he set them down next to the others. "No one can be perfect. It just can't happen. In any case, to appreciate someone flawlessly, you must first learn to appreciate them for their flaws." He smiled. "At least, that's what I was taught."

She smiled and blushed even more. Damn my Irish heritage and my incapability to prevent myself from blushing...

Her smile widened to hear such kind words. Her face grew more and more red with each compliment he gave. Your just saying that, and it's not polite to lie.

A worried look crossed his face. "Lie? Deceit only begets more deceit. We may be a domain of otherworldly creatures, but we still have our morals."

Oh I agree, but when I blush I know I become very unnattractive. Which is the reason I constantly hide my face. She began to look through one of the books, not really skimming but taking note of what seemed important and what didn't.

The youth frowned. "Who told you that? They must have been nearly blind."

I've told myself that and I can assure you my vision is quite fine. She viewed an illustration in the book and studied it trying to make sense of what was being said.

Taking a seat, his eyes creased in worry. He knew too well the effects that a low self-esteem could have, and wished nothing that horrible on anyone.

Why do you look at me in such a way? Her head tilted slightly, curious as to what the boy was thinking.

He shook his head slowly. "You shouldn't be so hard on yourself." Standing, he crossed to a nearby counter top. "Are you sure that I cannot interest you in some tea?"

I would love some tea, thank you. And what do you mean I shouldn't be so hard on myself?

Retrieving two cups from an overhead cabinet, Tuomas set them on the counter top and began to boil some water. "Self esteem is a very fragile thing, and the mind tends to receive what you think more easily than the words of others."
