As the lecture started Sammy relaxed. It seemed Savage was well, a bit off but beyond slamming the door and seeming energetic Sammy was getting the feeling she could get along great with this teacher.

Lazily she wrote a simple note: Human = Fish Fish = Food = Human is always food + FEAR energy source. Edible Battery? She really wasn't sure what to say about humans evolving as mini-pets though and simply frowned at this fact before raising her hand.

"Zombies are re-animated humans, how did we get to Halloween town if we were once human?" As soon as the question was out she bit down on her lip wondering what the response would be. She didn't know HOW she got to Halloween, all she knew was the name on the tags around her neck Samantha Lee and she had simply existed in Halloween town all her undead life.

Wait, if she came from a human, did that make her a fish? Or a really rare evolution like a rare mini?

It so was not going well. Damn this chalkboard! Why couldn't they ever take short people into account? The she-wolf was just deciding that she was going to have to do the hop and write a letter route here when an all to familiar voice had her glancing behind her. Opening her mouth to tell him 'No', LW didn't even get the chance. Ren lifted her up and the she-wolf's tail twitched before thumping against the gryphon. What was the point of telling him she would have eventually gotten it? LW did grin towards Alessa and snickered. At least one of them proved they could do it without assistance.

"Thanks, Ren." LW sighed and smiled at him while her hand slid back into Gabe's hand again. She turned that smile up towards the demon and gave him a small wink. Next time he could lift her up. Her eyes crinkled more when she heard he did indeed like this room.

"Cookies and adoration?" She eyed him critically. With a small laugh, LW leaned against his side and rubbed her cheek against his arm. "Oh don't worry. You'll get some adoration." Just to ease her own wary feelings, LW glanced around the room again. She really hoped the water didn't come crashing down. A surprised look was her response to the Nix's question to the four of them. "I'll have you know that I know how to swim." A pause. "Kind of have to learn when I kept getting thrown in the lake by my brothers."

A snort escaped her as she sat in her seat next to Gabe of course. "Uh uh. I will kick your butt in that game. And I will one day win against you, gryphon!" LW stuck her tongue out at her friend before grinning.

And then she discovered that there was a teacher that was on the road to being almost as scary as Red could be. When the book was slammed, LW jumped and curled her legs up in her seat, staring at their professor. Oh man. What kind of class had she let Gabrian drag her to?! The she-wolf winced when the Professor slammed the door as well, right in some students face.

LW fidgeted in her seat a little until the Professor actually started to talk. And slowly, she found herself leaning forward a little with interest. She stared at the chart, head tilted in that cute canine manner. Humans had evolved...like minipets? Wow...

Wrinkling her nose at the thoughts, the she-wolf slid her hand hesitantly into the air. "So, if humans once had a monster fish stage, did they at one time need FEAR, like we do?" LW's tail flicked a little as she continued to frown at this thought.

This was a very strange class, starting with the location, with the dripping water, to the teacher, who Myr wasn't sure if he liked or not. She was fairly strange.

He scribbled the picture down into his notebook, making notes next to it. It seemed like the teacher was a little obsessed with water, why else would they be starting there. Did it really matter where humans came from?

He shrugged to himself, and then scribbled down the questions the other students were asking. Some of what they were asking could be useful, right?

Aksaja blinked at the explanation of the human evolution or whatever it was. They were like minipets . . . ? That was weird. The humans that he had seen on their little 'trip' had seemed kinda like elves to him. And he might not pay too much attention to history, but he knew very well that elves did NOT come from monster fish. Or anything else like that. They'd been created just like they were now in the old days. Or something like that.

But hey, maybe humans were different. Rather than asking something himself, the lightning dragon just jotted down shortened versions of the most interesting questions that other people were asking, leaving space for the answers.

Whisper had pulled out her note book and began to record all that was being said. She made sure to leave spaces in between all the questions so she could fill the answers that the teacher gave in. She found that this method allowed her to review and study the material easier later on. Especially because she often wasn't able to think of any question to ask. Gaining from others knowledge wasn't a bad thing was it?

Whisper wanted so badly to talk to the other students, as it seemed like a lot of them knew each other already. She wanted to know so many boils and ghouls, as so far she had really only met one. However, it wasn't the greatest time to just tap on someones shoulder and say 'Hey, whats up? Hows the food in the cafeteria today? Toxic as always? Fantastic!'

She sighed a little and relaxed herself into the back of her seat.

"I could have helped you, ya know," Ren murmured to Alessa, slightly amused at her stubbornness. He knew she was much too proud to let him lift her up to reach the chalkboard, and he liked that about her, but he couldn't resist teasing her a bit as well.

"I certainly thought it was a good use" he said breezily to Gabrian, wings fluttering slightly behind him as he tucked them neatly against his back. "They're not much handy other than flying and stuff like this, though."

He still did not like the water. It was making him feel vaguely uncomfortable, bristling ever so slightly at a drop that fell against his cheek and slipped down his face. Ren winced visibly, swiping at the offending drop before saying to Gabrian "Well, she did get me on my feet, but that was when I was already late meeting her, so I'm not so sure how much that counts."

"And I did not stay up too late," he added, pouting a bit before it turned to a smirk. "Also, methinks you've got amnesia here, snakey. If I recall correctly, it was LW and I that kicked yer butt the last time we played Scario Cart."

Swinging his and Alessa's linked hands lightly, Ren and the nagual followed Gabrian and LW over to the rows of desks, slipping into the seat beside the nix and motioning for his ghoulfriend to sit in front of him, flashing her a warm smile that was somewhat disrupted by the loud "BANG" that emitted from the teacher's desk. He jumped - unintentionally, of course - and peered suspiciously at who he assumed was the teacher. Ren didn't bother answering the question she threw at them, but when she started talking about how the humans had derived from sea creatures, he slid a sideways glance to his right at Gabrian, arching an eyebrow but deliberatly not saying anything.

Someone had sat in the desk to his left, and Ren turned his head to see who it was. He did not recognize the hellhound, but he smiled at her anyway, lifting his hand in a brief greeting.

Then he flinched again as a few more drops of water smacked him in the face and sighed, flopping his head down on the desk in frustration.

"It's fine, I got it!" Alessa said adamantly to Ren. Despite how wobbly he text had turned out, she seemed pleased that it was there, nice and vividly pink in her own hand writing. "What if there's something I need to reach someday and none of you lovely tall people around? I must know how to fend for myself," she returned, her tone light and playful. Apparently her height didn't bother her. But then, perhaps it was because it was hard to think of yourself as short when you had a second form that was only about a foot tall when standing, more or less.

She peeked sideways at Gabe, curious over his question. Then she realized it was because of the state of the classroom. She hoped he wasn't implying they would have to swim for some portion of the class, because that would just be...uncomfortable. "Does bunny-paddling count?" Probably not.

She walked with Ren over to the desks and sat in the one indicated, though she had to admit she didn't much like the location; she couldn't see any of them, not Gabe, Ren, nor LW, because she was in the row ahead...she held back a sigh. It was class, after all, not a social gathering. Class. It was then that the professor slammed...something, she didn't quite see what, and began the lecture. That made things a bit easier, having something to focus on.

After their first bit of information she raised her hand, something clearly bothering her, "Professor, if humans came from fish monsters why...why don't they still have some remaining fish qualities?" She was thinking in terms of the monsters here who, while varied, all had traits associated with what they were or where they came from. How come humans come from fish and end up looking like reapers? She didn't really get it...Alessa knew she looked reaper like, too, but she still had monster traits. Her tail, her other form...

Rosc sat, slouched back in his chair, arms crossed, and his head tilted ever so slightly to one side. There was no telling from an outward perspective if he was paying any attention what so ever. In fact, he looked almost like he had fallen asleep. But contrary to his appearance, he was paying close attention to what his professor was saying and the questions his classmates asked.
Some of the questions were good ones, things he wouldn't have thought to ask, he was already figuring out the advantage of being in a class rather than being taught on a one-on-one basis.
On the other hand, he found a few of them a little irrelevant. Did it matter if humans once relied on FEAR like they did? Not really. How zombies get to Halloweentown? Not relevant to human history. It was an interesting question, he couldn't deny it. He wouldn't mind knowing how zombies and ghost made it to Halloweentown, but that wasn't really tied into human history, not in his mind.

The blindfolded incubus took note of the faces asking questions, who asked the clever ones and the ones who asked... less important. He also took note of who was taking notes, which was a number of the other students, Sin one of them.

Savage felt her grin dropped. OH GOD THEY ACTUALLY HAD QUESTIONS!? Well she was a teacher after all. The professor eyed the book she'd drop for a moment with a longing to hide behind it and look at some more boats. But class was class and she was being paid to teach these Snots.

Quickly the teacher recovered her composure and took on the first question.

"There was more then one thats for sure but its unknown how many exactly there were at the beginning. Could have been thousands or it could have been two. Beats me." She gave Malodore a shrug. "It was so long ago most records were not kept Im afraid."

Junko's question popped up next. Savage turned to the girl and eyed her for a moment before answering, "I think the gills fell off over time and Lungs grew in place." Savage flipped her hair ready to move on but then another question popped up. This time it was Colette's.

"I should have used the word Mutant. I'm sorry for the confusion. They have nothing to do with halloween or halloween town Im afraid."

Riley asked another question before Savage could even close her mouth. Though to the demonesses credit her question was a good one. "Yes. Humans need water other wise they dry up and mummify. It is fair to say that."

Ziyah's question made the professor frown some. "... Humans collected all the sea shells from the bottom of the ocean and stacked them up making land! I don't know! THIS IS HUMAN HISTORY CLASS NOT HUMAN WORLD GEOGRAPHY!" Savage was starting to lose her temper some with all these questions.

Sammy's question was just as off topic as the first and made Savage grit her teeth. "A reaper probably found you and took you here. This is human history not how I got to halloween town...." The professor found her self rubbing her temples trying to calm her self down. These kids.... She didn't even turn to LW who had just asked a question. Instead Savage rubbed her temples and answered her question with a firm, "No."

Alessa made her turn her head though, "The cycle was over a long period of time its believed so the humans had plenty of time to grow out of fish qualities..."

And finally the questions stopped which was a huge weight off of Savages shoulders. Calmly the professor took a breath and opened her mouth again. "It sounds like many of you are confused by the strangeness that is humans and by the actual point of this class. In human history 101 you will be learning about the cultures of humans through the ages. Land masses and anything else is not important."

Truly there was a lot of confusion in this room from the questions the students had asked. Savage could understand the snots confusion but at the same time it irritated her to no end. Anger management classes were probably needed.

Merope loved the classroom. The creaks and occasional splash of water that came down from overhead made him happier than a clam. Though so far, it looked like most of the water from the ceiling gushed out away from the students – a pity. He would have liked to get wet. How could people stand to be so dry all the time?

When Cyr whispered to him, though, Merope focused on the class and stared at the evolution chart. A puzzled frown alighted on his features. Did leviathans really turn into humans? Was he going to turn into one?! A moment of panic seized him. He didn't want to become a human! He didn't want to explode! Besides, he was undead, maybe that would save him?

He waited until Professor Savage finished answering questions before his hand shot up. “Professor!” He called, “I'm an undead leviathan. Does this mean I might evolve into an undead human? If so, is there a way to stop it?” He paused, then added, “Also, do the humans still do things they did in the sea? They don't look like they can swim that well...” It was a disappointment to see her chart, in all honesty. He figured humans had two heads.

The professor had felt the wave of questions had passed but no. Merope bombarded her with a ton more questions to answer which really irritated Savage.

"No, the humans made the great sacrifice and under went the transformation for the rest of us sea creatures." She rubbed her temples. "They do. They do plenty of stuff in the ocean....."

Wait.. was her mood lifting some? OH GREAT JOY!

"BOATS! HUMANS BUILD BOATS! But I will cover this a little later. This is just the intro class. They aren't the best of swimmers but they have BOATS!" A glimmer in Savages eyes shown. Oh boats, how she wanted to get to that topic RIGHT FREAKING NOW!
PostPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 10:31 pm

The undead boil stared blankly back at the professor. "Professor? What's a boat?"

Savage brow lifted at the boil. A leviathan that didn't know what a boat was? They were practically cousins! And he didn't know what a boat was? This was surprising and very sad to the professor. So out of the warmth of her heart, "Merope you have detention. You poor poor soul..."

Oh she was going to teach him for sure. What sort of leviathan didn't know what a boat was? It almost brought a tear to Savages eye. Almost.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 10:36 pm

Merope's jaw dropped. Detention? Detention?! His fins drooped as he lowered his head, trying to make himself smaller out of embarrassment. What did the professor mean by being a poor soul? He had heard rumors of the bathroom and laundry room detentions... Surely she wasn't going to inflict that on him?

Needless to say, his talons scrapped against the floor as he reconsidered his priorities and question-asking timing.

Savage crossed her arms, "Stay after class and we'll discuss things in my office.." With that vague statement the professor turned to the rest of the class with an evil toothy grin.

"Anyone else have a question?" Her tone was almost mocking.
