Lucien remembered the last class of Forms and Faces he attended. He remembered it fondly and immediately scrolled his eyes around the room in search of his friend Tybalt but alas he did not see the black dog whose eyes seemed to light up the room with a small luminescent glow. It was a little saddening that his friend seemed to be late, but he slowly made his way over to the pile of things on the floor. He stared at it for a bit but eventually he stuck his hand down in and tried to grab something out of the box only to be bitten by something. He flinched and pulled his hand back, causing his eyes to narrow: crabgrass seeds. Oh, he remembered that night. That humiliation. THEY WERE INVADING.

No, they would not stop him! He had to do this. He made sure his toes were not in biting range while he floated above the pile and carefully he put his hand back in. He grabbed a giant purple bra, long, orange feathers, gnarly golden horns, hunks of pale fur and hair pins as quickly as he could before retreating from the pile of horrors until he was at a safe distance to study the objects he found. Well then.

The giant purple bra went on his head first, with the gnarly golden horns finding a place on Lucien's shoulders and knees. He made sure they were on good before proceeding to attached the long, orange feathers all over his arms and up his shoulders until they seemed to grow with the horns. He took a moment and then he finally added hair pins to hold his hair in a very sophisticated manner before he used hunks of pale fur to cover his face to make facial hair and then even into his hair to make him have the appearance of shaggy white pale hair. He waited a moment, and then made a stern face. Itchy face!

Something seemed missing through and the air spirit moved back over to the pile and grabbed blood-stained bandages and a wooden practice sword from the pile. He had to put the sword down for a moment to wrap the blood-stained bandages around his hands and slightly over the feathers at the bottom of his arm as well as around the horns on his knees but he finally managed to get them all attached before he picked the wooden practice sword back up. He was ready to par-- His thought was pushed to the side. His face was itchy!

(( Sorry for the lateness OTL. Solo's at the bottom of the page ))

Candlejack! He was sooo late. Late. Late. Late. How did this keep happening? He had headed out the door this time, with every intention of getting to class on time when... Everything just went blank. The next thing he knew he was just wandering aimlessly across campus until his memory decided to turn back up from the lost and found section of his brain. Oh, yeah. CLASS. He facepalmed making his way down the hallway, then took a deep breath in. The prof. Was not going to be happy. The thought of skipping this one came to mind but it was quickly disregarded. It would just make matters worse.

Coming in, he tried to avert his gaze from the teacher with a small nervous chuckle humming from his throat. He caught "to be anyone but yourself." then his eyes directed to amount of things they were to work with all spilled out across the floor, students immediately jumping to get their things. He slowly made his way over when the rush seemed to die down and everyone was already starting to work on a costume. He grinned seeing a familiar face by the materials, fighting with some crabgrass seeds before working on getting himself fixed up. He gave a nod to him in greeting then felt it best to start working on a disguise of his own before the teacher really did cut him in to tiny pieces for being, oh so late.

He grabbed a hold of some red polka-dotted cloth and folded it diagonally before grabbing the ends and tying it loosely around his neck like a bandanna. He studied what there was to work with and thought on what else would go with the bandanna. Bandages. Blood-stained bandages. He smiled, content with the little tinkering of his brain as it panted a picture of the disguise to aim for in his mind. He started wrapping it around his neck, from where the bandanna covered, working it up and around his face, until his mouth and nose were covered. Just leaving his eyes visible and a few stray bangs that hung over the top.

Next up - Hunks of pale fur. He put it around the edges of his face and rubbed his palm over the top across his hair line to make sure non of the black hair was peaking through. He then grabbed the feathers and tucked them under the fur at either sides of his face so they hung in front of his ears and curves around his face. He clipped everything together with the hair pins before re assessing his idea. He had a lot going on around his upper half. Adding some gnarly golden horns on top to finish it off. So what else could he do for the bottom?

He stood there, hand on his mummified chin, rubbing it in thought. He grabbed some more red polka dotted cloth and tied it around him trying to get it to resemble some sort of tunic. He wrapped more bandages around his arms and then made wrist cuffs with some more long orange feathers.

The sunglasses seemed pretty popular so he decided to avoid them and went for something a little less popular, the jars of glowing green Beatles. They were fascinating! He held the jar of glowing green beetles closer to his face moving it around to get a closer look at them then opened the lid and grabbed one carefully from it each time, until he had a few creepies crawling around him. Minus the glasses. They didn't work with the costume, so he could live without them for practical work anyhow.

Dress-up! Gargantuan would timidly sidle closer to the wonderful amount of treasures that Professor Tailor had so thoughtfully laid out for them. He didn't even know where to start! The blood-staind bandages were the first to be picked up by his large hands, and messily, the swamp monster managed to wrap his entire body in the stuff. There! It was harder to see his green skin now, and made his features harder to distinguish!

...They were itchy though. And smelled so tasty.

Next, the long, orange feathers and the hunks of pale fur were stuffed underneath the bandages, hopefully to give the appearance that he was some sort of fluffy, feathery beast hiding underneath the bandages! The crabgrass seeds were stuffed under there too (and some found their way into his mouth), before the monster uncertainly wrapped a ugly striped tie around his neck, and shoved the giant sunglasses on his face.

Done! There! The monster straightened himself up proudly, wincing occasionally from little nips from the seeds, and tried not to thump his tail. Did he look different?!

Ithilethiel decided this class lesson should be a fairly simple one. All she had to do was dress up... disguise herself. She decided to start with her sleeves. They were very long and needed to be hidden.

She took a bit of the red polka, cutting out some long sleeves using the hedge clippers. She wrapped them around her arms and tied them tightly with some white yarn. She slipped a tie around her neck, but instead of wearing it normally, she draped it around her neck and shoulders. She then took a bunch of long, orange feathers and pinned them into the tie with some hair pins.

She looked herself over. So far her neck, shoulders and arms were disguised nicely. Ithi looked over the pile for something to use as a skirt. She picked up a wad of blood-stained bandages and raised a brow, wondering if it was real blood. She wrapped the bandages around her waist and hips to make a sort of skirt. With the extra bandage, she wrapped her arms a bit. Next she covered her boots with the hunks of pale fur, making her feet look almost like big, ugly paws.

Looking over the pile once again, Ithi picked up two gnarly golden horns. They were hollow inside, so she slipped them on over her antlers. They felt a bit wobbly, but covered her white antlers nicely.

Ithi thought her costume was complete. She had covered most of the basics. Then she realized she was still holding her staff. She frowned, set it down at her feet, and picked up a wooden practice sword. It was a poor substitute.

She was about to move away from the pile, when something glowing caught her eye. She picked up one of the glowing jars to find many glowing green beetles inside. Curious, she opened it and took one of the beetles out. She was examining it when suddenly it squirted some sort of substance on her fingers. The liquid was a glowing green, but didn't seem to hurt her skin.

With a sigh, Ithi realized she couldn't very well carry her raven Nekyia around while in disguise. She shrugged and put the beetle in her hair for good measure. It made the back of her head glow.

Malodore worked quietly, leaving Riley to her own devices; it was tempted to peek, here and there, but decided not to... best to focus, or it would never get this done before the end of class!

Cardboard was cut, drawings were made (thankfully, it always carried a pen), feathers woven... and other items were plundered carefully from the stock. At last, it was done, and Malodore glanced over at Riley. "Are you ready to... be changed?" it said, in an overly dramatic tone.

((OOC note for professor: Malodore's finished costume is in this post))

Riley had all but completed the pieces of her costume, when Malodore spoke. She stuck one feather in her tentacle and shook her head. No. You first. She announced with a teasing tone, and picked up the string of feathered wooden swords in one hand. While still seated, she wrapped her arms around his waist, and splayed the swords behind him. When the string was pulled taut, they snapped into position in a perfect arched display. She tied the string around his waist, and then moved back to appraise the 'tail' she'd made for him. Nodding in approval, she picked up one of the two feather covered furs, and drapped it over his pointed shoulder. There was a hole for the point, which made it easy to hang the item off of him without attaching. She did the same to his other arm, and then pulled away.

Now, donned in lovely orange wings and a large, splayed tail - coupled with his already avian features - Malodore looked the picture of a proud peacock.

You look beautiful. She praised, and stood up off her seat. Okay. Dress me.

Malodore blinked at the odd ensemble it found itself wearing, swishing its arms around a bit, 'wings' following.

... Huh. Well. That was different. The 'tail' felt a bit awkward because it was unused to the weight, and the swords clacked against each other when it moved, but it wasn't too uncomfortable. And her craftsmanship, especially given the limited time and resources, was excellent. "I'll be sure to save this in case I need to escape an angry mob," it assured her. "Now it's your turn."

Malodore's goal was to make Riley as different from her usual self as possible. Thus, the first thing it presented was... a purple brassiere. "I know, I know," it muttered quietly. But its goal was not to contain mammaries... but instead to contain tentacles, lightly giving them a support space (two, actually!) to curl into rather than going all over the place. "Put them in there," it ordered, then covered its vague embarrassment by, in turn, covering tentacles and brassiere both with a 'wig' made out of orange feathers.

Next was the face. Malodore had cut a mask out of the cardboard, and had drawn a cheerful face onto the front of it. It had holes for Riley to see through, of course. It carefully tied it around Riley's head using a bit of old necktie, then fluffed the wig over it.

Lastly... all the rest of her purple skin needed covering, and naturally she had a lot of it. Round and round went the bandages until Riley was bundled up as thoroughly as the plague doctor itself was. Some draping polka-dotted cloth as a 'toga' and a pair of the oversized sunglasses - over her eyes, of course - completed the ensemble.

... "You have far too many distinguishing features," Malodore announced, once it was done.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 5:25 pm

Riley stared at the brassiere as it was handed to her, one eyebrow slowly lifting. She held it up with one finger, and eyed Malodore mischievously, before her tentacles rose of their own volition and curled up into tight buns. There was hardly enough room for all of them, but the bra helped keep them pressed down while Malodore crowned her with a wig. It was difficult not to blush at this, but she tried her very best. Only a faint smattering of color kissed her cheeks at the proximity to her tentacles.

When she rose her head again, she tried to catch a glimpse of the mask before it was placed on her face, and failed. Now she would be curious as to her expression throughout the whole class! Her curiosity was diverted by how extensive Malodore's bandage covering managed to be, lifting her bandaged arm and flexing it as it worked on the other one. She couldn't help but make the comparison to the plague doctor himself as she looked at it's work on her body.

The polka dotted toga felt a little foolish, but the sunglasses sent her over the edge. She started laughing when it placed them over her eyes. Oh, Malodore, she sighed, shaking her head carefully. No one would ever suspect it is me under all of this.

"Precisely! It is so... tacky and hideous. Nobody would suspect you." Oh, it was a good thing Malodore's face had no choice other than to be straight...

Junko stared long and hard at everything they could choose from, her eyes wide and her fingers pressed to her lips. Create a costume? Yes! Now this was Junko's kind of work! The first thing that caught her attention was the hair pins, picking up a bunch of them. Enough to use on her hair. Next were the hedge clippers, something to cut with...could she not use her own needle and thread? Damn! She'd just use more hair pins to put the outfit together then.

And then she saw the wooden practice swords. It was then that Junko had her idea on what she was going to become; Junko was going to be a samurai.

She grabbed the only fabric she saw useable, and a...giant...purple bra...and the red polka-dotted cloth.

Who in Halloween needed a bra this big?! Junko shuddered at the thought, also grabbing the bandages.

Junko then sat down on the floor and got to work, taking the hedge clippers and cutting the bra in half between the two purple cups. She then cut off the straps and put the single cup to the side. Before she got anything else done she made sure to pile her hair up onto her head, using as many hair pins as it took; she did have to get up a few times to get more hair pins, but other than that it was relatively painless process for this step. After that she put the purple bra cup on her head like a wide-brimmed hat, taking one of the bandages and wrapping it around like she was tying the hat onto her head, knotting beneath her chin. She then got to work on the rest of her outfit, cutting and tearing how she needed until she'd made a very, very, very simple and crude hakama held together with many hairpins. Many hairpins. There were so many...it was a wonder there were any left for everyone else!

She changed from her kimono to the 'ghetto' hakama right there, taking what was left of the bloodstained bandages to wrap them tightly around her chest enough to flatten them and give her a more boyish appearance. Ow. Owowow. Ow. Since when did this hurt? This had never hurt before. Owwwww. Owowowowwwww. It didn't hurt like this with her obi! Ugh. Maybe the manly approach was an unwise one...but they'd been told to be something they weren't! And Junko was not a male samurai.

Definitely not a male samurai. Owwwwww.

Junko tried not to sigh as she carefully bent down to pick up the wooden practice swords, slipping them through the waist band of her hakama bottoms. There! This was acceptable, right? She fixed her 'hat' and clothes, feeling so incredibly uncomfortable in something not her usual attire. Eugh. How could boils wear these?

He had been staring at the box of things for the better part of the class and it wasn't that he was lacking creativity, but he wasn’t exactly feeling the class. His mind was on other, bigger plans, and he wasn't in much of the mood for dress up – in any shape or form. Still, at least he wasn't asking them to doll up in any way, and while the time ticked, he knew he had to do something before class was over.

Rising from his seat, he looked about to see what everyone else was coming with. A few pairs were enjoying themselves, trying to make the other look as ridiculous as possible and laughing. Not having a partner, or much of anyone he knew in the class, he grabbed a few things from the box and returned to his seat. Sitting down, he looked over his spoils and sighed. Might as well start.

Taking the white yarn, he worked it around the patches of fur into a makeshift skirt of sorts or maybe a very sad loincloth. Either way, he tossed it around his hips and decided that was enough as far as clothes went. Then, he opened the packet of grass seeds, giving them a look over before dumping the entire packet over his head, shoulders, and back. With water already in his clothes and hair, the plants reacted and started to sprout, They grew quickly, rising out and out into long blades of crab grass that seemed to move all it's own, and completely swallowed him up whole. It was hard to see at this point, and so he reached for the hedge clippers and started to trim, working carefully as he did to allow the lower half of his face to be seen and trim a bit to at least see a little bit better. As a final adjustment, he took some hair clips and clipped some of the blades of grass back to see. In all, he looked like a walking plant beast and smelled like fresh lawn trimmings.

Christof had been fairly quiet during class, happily sitting with his chin on his desk to stare at a certain demoness's crurels under her own desk while the Teacher had come in and began their lesson. He probably should have paid more attention, considering he was new to the class and had missed the two sessions before. Alas, teenaged hormones effect even Igors, and so he was late to notice that the students had all flocked to a large cardboard box spilled out onto the floor. By the time he had lurched his way towards it, it was mostly picked over, but he managed to snag a large armful of feathers and... some strange fabric contraption he was unfamiliar with, among a few other things.

Curiously he lifted it to inspect, brows raising in curiosity. Two fabric cups joined by fabric.... they had to build some sort of disguise? Whatever this thing was, it would be detrimental, he knew it.

Master Malodore and Mistress Riley had already leaped into their projects together and were nearly done by the time he noticed them- DRAT! Seeing if they wanted any assistance would be pointless at this rate. Everyone else were busy working, and so he quickly lurched back to his desk to set to creating himself.

He started with the crumpled paper pages, carefully folding them into a beak-like shape, poking holes with his pencil to thread yarn through in a loose hinge before tying the top of the beak to one of the wooden practice swords. He gave it an experimental bobble, excited to see that the beak flapped with every movement. Excellent!

With the sword blade pinched between his knees, he carefully and reverently hung the mysterious brassiere from the handle, arranging and finally tying it off once it was properly in place. He glanced at the clock. Almost everyone else were finishing up! Drat drat drat almost out of time! In haste, he set to work lashing on a pair of horns to the handle as well, and had just enough yarn left over to cover the rest and his arms in feathers. To top it off, he took his last three feathers and the rest of the bloody bandages, tying a makeshift tail to his arms.

Beaming at the head he had created, he used more bloody bandages to tie the puppet head to his hunch, looping a hideous tie around it's neck. PERFECT. No one would suspect an innocent bird just hopping through. His disguise was flawless.

This was, undoubtedly, a rather strange assignment. Alas, Gabrian decided that despite the strangeness of it, it was also rather... interesting. The items sprawled out before him were not his choice, as far as disguises went, but he was willing to give this a shot. Taking the blood-stained bandages , he took a moment to wrap them around his arms and then his face, allowing only one of his eyes to peek through the mess. He wasn't particularly bothered by the blood, but then... his species rather liked blood. Specially when mixed with water - he'd have to make sure to take a shower or a bath after class, that was all.

That done, he took the hunks of pale fur and attempted to cover his horns and hair as best as he could. Then took the blue and white yarn and the gnarly golden horns, attempting to hold one of the horns in place on his head, much like a unicorns by tying it with both the yarn and bandages. Reaching for the the feathers, he tied some on his tail, still using the yarn, and then, to top it all off, added the other horn to the top of his tail, holding it in place with the remaining bandages and yarn.

He looked a downright mess, but at least he'd tried. He just hoped that the professor wasn't expecting them to do much of anything in this getup, because he could hardly see as it was.

Late was a word that Jack had taken to heart, something that he just had to get used to, as he was usually one of the last few that stepped over the threshold of poor Prof. Tailor's room. Shifting his eyes a little bit, he sneaked in as the Prof. finished his statements, catching the tail end of the conversation and homework that was due for them, and finding a secluded spot to hide in as he worked his 'magic.'

Digging through the large pile of whatever was left, his ears twitched at the sight of this and that, and hatching a grand scheme, he pulled what he could until he was content, his eyes glancing voer the other ideas that the other classmates had decided to go with, glad to know he had the advantage of scoping the scene a little.

Putting his pile down, he started with the cosmetics of it all, having retained about that DISMAL GREY that got stuck in his hair the last time that he attempted this class - having taken under the wing of the skinwalker whom he had no qualms against. Why he let him touch his hair in the first place was beyond him, but that was behind him. Pulling the loose strands of hair backwards he used the hair pins to tie his hair back a bit, letting strands fall in his face, giving off a dishevelled look.
Licking his fingers until they were moist enough, he started rubbing in his eyeliner softly, using his saliva to mix the reds and blacks around his eyes together, making a dark greyish red shine puffiness under and in his eyelids, making it feel like he hadn't slept in a few days (in which, knowing him, sometimes this was the case. Rubbing the darkness a bit into his nose, it made him feel dishevelled. or however he looked, he had no looking glass to see so.

The rest wasn't too complicated, a bit of red from his eyeliner that he carried in a small wallet, a little around his neck, to accent the blood-stained bandages that he wrapped around his neck, as if he had died enjoy the one thing he loved. Lastly, he spread a bunch of the torn out history pages around, and lounged back in the chair, looking around the class at the other acts of artistic flair, before he was to prove his character.

HE thought he looked good . . .
