Mitsu looked between the three family members as they continued to speak, another word drop catching her attention. Instantly her face paled, "G....grandchildren?" W...why did they think they could give them grandchildren? W..was that possible? Had what Desmond told her not been true after all? Had becoming pregnant been a risk all along?

A touch of panic started to appear in her eyes right before Desmond slammed his hands into the table, yelling at the top of his lungs. It kept her anchored for the moment but it looked like she was ready to make a run for it. She liked children, she really did, but she was far too young to have any of her own. And...she wasn't sure she would make a very good mom. She hadn't really had anyone to show her how. That coupled with various other thoughts had her mind reeling.

----

"Yes," Klyde hissed as Jacob squeezed his shoulder a little harder.

"No, no, don't get up," Blake smiled welcoming himself onto the couch where Claire had just been. "We want to get to know this new toy Klyde has brought home."

"She's not a ******** toy," Klyde tried to jerk away, his hand coming up to dig into Jacob's forearm but the larger vampire quickly put him in a head lock. Not that it did much since choking a vampire out was impossible, but it did keep him fairly immobile as he flailed to push him away.

Blake smiled wide as he ignored Klyde and leaned in closer to Riyo. "You smell rather tasty too, I wonder what you taste like." His hands started to move toward Riyo's leg while he tried to use his body to corner her in the side of the couch. Apparently they weren't going to waste any time showing their true colors.

"Ja-Jacob, get the ******** off me," Klyde yelled, finally managing to land a punch in his elder brother's face. With a growl Jacob pulled back only slightly to hold his face, his other hand grabbing for Klyde's hair.

"Not a wise move." Jacob growled.

Grimacing as his parents went about ignoring him (as they always did) Desmond stood from his seat and looked down at Mitsu. "So. A movie sounds pretty good right now. Lets just... Hop in my car and go, shall we?" He asked in an obviously agitated tone, though it was in no way directed at her.

"But she's barely touched her dinner..." Lilly whined.

"Gee. I wonder why that is?" Desmond shot back. "Could it be that your ability to make people uncomfortable is unmatched."

"Desmond, be nice." Edmond insisted, smile fading from his lips.

"Why don't you be nice and listen for once?" Looked like the gloves were off now. "C'mon Mitsu.." He gestured, already heading towards the door to the garage. He knew his parents wouldn't stop him, even if he was taking away their dinner guest.

---

Riyo's eyes narrowed as Blake made himself comfortable right next to her, though it was the 'toy' comment that put a chip in her shoulder. "Uh..." Should she say something? Should she keep her mouth shut?

Her mind was made up when the vampire started babbling about her flavor and obviously invading her comfort zone. "Back up, happy pants. There's this thing I have called a personal bubble, and I don't care if you're the king of ******** England, I don't want you in it." While it wasn't phrased like one, it sounded like a threat. She hadn't quite broken out with the heavy duty insults yet, though.

Wait. Did Klyde just punch is brother in the face? Visibly, she flinched, ears falling against her head. This... Was not going to end well.

S-should she help Klyde or sit back and wait for it to be over? It was... Hard to decide...

Eyes darting between Desmond and his parents Mitsu finally pushed away from the table slowly. "S...sorry." There was no need for it but Mitsu felt she had to say it as she pushed her chair back in and followed Desmond with unsteady steps. She looked a little queasy almost, her arms wrapped around her stomach as she fell into step behind the vampire.

"S-so you have a car?" She was desperate to think about something else at the moment. Not that her thoughts didn't immediately go to car seats and those little toy steering wheels you get for children so they think they are driving.

----

Blake grinned down at Riyo but didn't seem willing to budge despite her words. "Oh, I can tell you have a bit of a bite to you. I like that. Its always more exciting when they fight back."

"Don't you touch her," Klyde hissed despite the fact that Jacob was trying to pull him out of his seat by the hair on his head.

"Come on, little brother. You started something so now you're going to finish it," Jacob growled hauling Klyde over the back of the couch.

"I don't know maybe I should finish it," Came a deep voice from the door.

All three brothers looked over to see their father standing in the doorway, Claire holding his hand. Apparently she hadn't done what Klyde had asked....scared her brothers were going to hurt her new friend.

"Were just fooling around," Jacob released Klyde's hair making the boy stumble as he regained his footing. "No harm done."

"Bullshit.." Klyde hissed.

"You could call it that." Though Desmond preferred to call it a piece of junk. Desmond wasted no time on opening the door and flipping on the light, two cars immediately in front of them. One was a vintage Volkswagon Bug in a light green color, obviously his mothers.

The other was a 1972 Buick Skylark convertible in baby blue. That was the one Desmond unlocked with the keys from earlier. First, he opened the passenger door for Mitsu, then quickly walked to the other side so they could drive the hell out.

The interior was a lovely suede, though everything else seemed like it was vintage just like the car... even a pair of fuzzy dice hanging over the mirror. And as old as it was, it purred like a kitten when the vampire started the ignition. He didn't say a word, though. Not until the garage door was opened and they were heading down the street.

"I'm so sorry Mitsu." He finally sighed, a conflicted look of strife filled his eyes. "I figured this would happen..."

---

"Yeah yeah, I've heard that before." Riyo sighed, about ready to fight her way out of the room...

But it looked like she wouldn't have to. Almost immediately she froze as the deeper voice bellowed through the room, her wide eyes looking toward the doorway. Things just kept getting better. Fooling around? Yeah. Right. If he'd been fooling around she'd hate to see when that b*****d was being serious.

Though, she seemed to be speechless seeing their father standing there... How bad did this look?

Once they were in the garage and the lights were flipped on, Mitsu looked on in wonder as Desmond moved over to unlock the baby blue Buick. She wasn't very car savvy but she thought it looked rather nice, it was at least enough to take her mind off feeling ill as she climbed in the door Desmond opened for her and buckled in.

Like a child taking in her new surroundings her eyes trailed over the seats to the dash of the vintage car. In the end they settled on the fuzzy dice and she couldn't help but lift a hand to poke them. The silence eventually settled in on her and she sat back in her seat wishing Desmond would say something and when he finally did....

"No, I'm sorry Desmond. I didn't know I would be putting you in such an awkward situation." The next words out of her mouth seemed to be a struggle to say, "I...should have explained that we weren't a couple." Though why she hadn't....was a mystery. It just sounded nice so she went with it even if it wasn't true.

----

Klyde's father looked over the three boys before his eyes settled on Riyo. There wasn't much to his expression and it never changed from the look of displeasure, though whether that was because his sons were acting like idiots or he had been brought out of his study to play ringleader was hard to tell. He looked like he had just come from a business meeting, dark gray dress pants on, black shoes shined to the point of looking like ink, and white button up shirt with a black tie. The only thing that would give it away that he had been home and relaxing was that the sleeves on his shirt were rolled up a little to keep them out of the way.

"You two," He pointed to Blake and Jacob. "Out."

It was a simple command but one that was followed without hesitation. With a bit of a sneer Blake looked to Riyo shortly, mouthing the word later before he stood from his seat and headed toward the door. Jacob did the same thing bumping into Klyde as he left. Once the two older brothers were out of the room Klyde seemed to relax, but only a fraction. His father was still there and staring daggers at him.

"You know how your brothers are and you brought a girl here," Apparently this conversation wasn't going to be held in private. Either he felt the need for Riyo to hear or didn't care that she was there. "Who is she?" He looked over at Riyo again, his eyes narrowing somewhat with recollection. "I saw you in the office after Halloween."

Klyde sighed a bit, "They weren't supposed to be here today. That's the only reason I brought her over." When his dad asked who she was he looked to Riyo shortly, the introductions now being done a little awkwardly since his father seemed to remember where he had seen her last. "Dad, this is Riyo. Riyo this is my dad, Vince McBane."

Vince did not smile, his pale violet eyes staring at Riyo. "I apologize Ms. Riyo, my sons seem to lack a manner of grace and dignity when it comes to guests." So he obviously knew, or at least partially knew and had done nothing to really correct the issue. He didn't look all the sorry either, like he was merely going through a formality. "Why don't the two of you come to my study...we'll talk."

And that was obviously not what Klyde wanted to hear. "I dunno Dad, w..we were going to..." Think of an activity. "Get Riyo something to eat...since we don't really have anything here..." They did but it wasn't like his dad ever noticed.

"I won't keep you long." Was the short reply before Klyde's father headed out the door.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 17, 2011 11:55 pm

Wow... That actually really stung.

"Mitsu." Instead of making it a long drive, he settled into the parking lot of an old playground, throwing the car in park carelessly but leaving the engine on in case she got cold. "You could've said you hated my guts and they still would've found a way to make the two of us extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed. It's what they do. In no way is this your fault. No. Way." He did his best to emphasize on that, since she'd always had a problem getting something through her head when it was a positive comment.

"And... Besides..." Should he really be admitting this? So soon? Well s**t, it was now or never he supposed. "I... Thought it sounded really nice." He twiddled his fingers nervously as the words slipped out, glancing to the steering wheel as if trying to hide it.

---

Riyo almost didn't notice the 'later' Blake had so tenderly mouthed to her, wondering just how ******** crazy this guy was... But her attention quickly turned back to Vince.

He... He recognized her. Oh ******** great. Should she say something like 'nice to meet you?' or 'It's okay, I deal with sick, twisted, horny bastards on a daily basis at school.'

You know... Probably best to keep one's mouth shut at that moment. It's not like he was actually sorry, and it definitely wasn't nice to meet him. In fact, it was downright scary. Not as much because he was as intimidating as a pack of bears, but because if he somehow managed to figure out she'd left that scar on Klyde's neck, all bets were off.

... What the hell could he want to talk about? Riyo wasn't sure, but a part of her was glad she got the invite as well... With Mr. Rape and his faithful companion Knock the s**t out of You Boy walking around..

With little to no hesitation, Riyo stood and followed the man to wherever his study might be, looking rather submissive and pitiful. It wasn't something she did often, since there weren't many people she would actively label 'her superior', but she knew how to play it.

Mitsu nodded a little, her eyes nervously diverted to the dash. They, however, widened a little shortly after. Did he...? Did Desmond just say...what she thought he said? That he thought it sounded nice as well? Looking over toward the vampire, eyes searching his face for the truth, she eventually smiled softly before looking away again rather shyly. "I thought it sounded nice too."

----

Klyde looked reluctant to follow his father, but he did so anyway as it seemed Riyo was going to comply. Hopefully this didn't turn out as badly as he imagined it would. The entire walk to the study was in silence, Klyde anxiously staring on. He wasn't sure what to tell Riyo to give her a heads up, his father was often unpredictable but very good at picking just the right questions to either embarrass or get under the skin right off the bat. Somehow, he had a horrible feeling this meeting with his family was going to make her hate him in the end. His brothers coupled with his father was like a dynamic trio. The topper on the cake would be if his mother showed up.

When they finally got to the study Vince was quick to take a seat at his desk on the far side of the room. As one would imagine with a study it was full of books. If one looked closer they would realize most of those books revolved around law and its practices. He had cabinets neatly lined on the right side of the room, a few empty file folders sitting on top of them. There was currently a file folder open on his desk, a case file he was working on.

"Have a seat," Vince gestured to the chairs in front of his desk. It was set up so that he could meet with clients.

So... Did that mean she wanted a relationship with him?

Desmond looked up with surprise, an underlying confusion in those cobalt blue eyes. She had never mentioned anything about making it official... But did it bother her that they hadn't been?

"Hey, um.." His glance turned up to the stupid dice hanging from his mirror. "T-the reason I didn't make it official before... I knew I was gonna hurt you... I didn't want to risk making things worse." He supposed it was a sad excuse if it really bothered her, but that was the reason. "I did... Really think about it though."

---

The long, quiet walk was nerve wracking. Not only silence from Klyde, but his father as well. It was like they were walking to the gallows to be hung... Which may not have been far from the truth.

Reaching the study, Riyo's eyes became tunnel vision on the seat, not once hesitating to plant herself in it. Nervously she looked about the room and it's contents, head almost spinning from all the books on law. Was it slightly ironic that a vampire was a lawyer? Perhaps. But the more ironic thing was how his children were... Especially the older ones.

That smile quickly faded as Desmond brought up a subject that still stung a little. She was doing well to get passed it but it was forever a reminder that he had known what was going to happen...and never tried to warn her. Her chest suddenly feeling tight she drew her legs up to her chest, resting the balls of her feet on the seat lightly to not mess up the suede.

"I..I kind of guessed that....after." The dash became very interesting as she couldn't bring herself to look in his direction at the moment. "I had often wondered...before that. I didn't want to bring it up because if you wanted a relationship you would have asked right? That's....what I thought anyway. I was happy to just be close to you so I told myself it wasn't important." She didn't elaborate on whether that had actually worked or not, but Desmond would probably know no different.

----

Vince wasn't much for small talk, so after Riyo and Klyde took a seat he cut to the chase. "So, Ms. Riyo. What do you know of our family? You've obviously met the majority of them today save for my wife." He looked at the file in front of him with interest, pulling it forward and tilting it so that it couldn't easily be seen. "Do try to be honest." It sounded more like a warning though only a hint of one. If there was one thing Vince was good at it was telling a liar. For a vampire it was easy to tell when a person's heart rate sped up, especially when they were telling a lie. He saw enough lying day in and day out even the best of liars hardly ever escaped his detection.

Well... It looked like he'd just re-opened a big can of worms. Smooth move Desmond.

The fact that she wouldn't look at him didn't help the situation...

A few moments passed before the vampire could muster up the ability to speak to her again, a deep sadness in his eyes. He had been looking over the playground they were parked at, and it seemed to remind him of nothing but bad memories.

"Ask me anything." He said suddenly, his voice quiet. "I know it won't fix what I've done... But I want you to ask me anything you want. No limit of questions or any bullshit like that. I'll tell you whatever you want to know... And I won't lie to you."

---

... What did he mean? Know of his family? Immediately, she tensed up as she was put on the spot, almost unsure of what to say at first. "Not much..." She started off simple, but then decided to elaborate. "Your daughter is probably the cutest thing I've seen on two feet, Klyde is..." Now what would be the most appropriate way to describe Klyde without crossing some unseen boundary? "One of the few people I can stand to be around." perfect. "And the other two.." Are soulless gingers who need years upon years of therapy. "I... Just met." Yeah, that works.

There was silence once again. If there was anything Mitsu hated and nearly feared as much as heights it was silence. The quiet continued to eat away at her but she wasn't sure what else to say. Her brain and mouth just weren't on the same wave length.

"A..ask you...anything?" She questioned her gaze shifting to him slightly, though she seemed to stare at his chest and not his eyes. At first she was unsure, nothing really came to mind. "I.. I don't..." But then something struck her. A question that had been looming on her mind since earlier. "What do you think of me now? Knowing that I've been with someone else and knowing who that someone is." It was a double edge sword of a question. While she wanted to know...she really didn't. She feared hearing the words tramp or slut escape his mouth, but she needed to know if that was how he felt. There was no regret having been with Shun and no matter what Desmond said would change that.

------

Vince didn't even crack a smile at the complement to his daughter. He was rather cool and collected looking over the file in front of him taking in Riyo's words. So it didn't seem she knew much, or didn't want to share. "So how long have you and my son been sleeping together?"

"Eh..D...DAD!" Klyde nearly barked but realized his mistake when Vince looked up with the coldest gaze. While his sons may act like idiots when not around him he didn't tolerate back talking apparently.

"My apologies, Klyde. Was that too personal?" He looked back at the file again. "Maybe Riyo would like to tell me about her mother then. An intriguing woman. Seems to be well managed with a good head on her shoulders but suffering from a little stress it would seem and a violent daughter who was after her life." He didn't even sound accusing, it was so matter of fact.

"What!?" This time Klyde didn't react to the stare as he stood from his seat, his hands hitting the desk. "What are you getting at, old man?" He hissed, eyes faintly glowing. "You're saying that Riyo attacked her mother? It was the other ******** way around!" From the yelling his voice was starting to go hoarse quickly, but his anger waged on. "And what does that have to do with anything?"

Vince normally didn't show his case files since they were confidential, but he turned it enough so that Klyde could see Anne's name at the top of the page, her statement on the matter written out. There were a few other items of interest, witness statements, pictures, but none went noticed as Klyde stared at the name and picture.

"W...what the hell Dad?"

"Her hearing will be soon." Vince stated taking back the file. If not before it was very apparent now he was the one covering Riyo's mother's case. "Anne has been so kind as to share a few things about her daughter to me." He looked up at Klyde pointedly. "Some enlightening things."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 18, 2011 2:49 pm

Desmond had been dreading the questions he'd be asked. What she would possibly quiz him about and how best to respond to some of them...

So... He supposed it was a little relieving to hear her ask about that.

Almost immediately, his hands reached for one of hers gently to caress it, a soft, assuring smile on his lips. "I think that you're still the quiet, beautiful girl I met in science class." His words were very heartfelt, as were his actions. "I can't deny I'm a little... Jealous that Shun has gotten to spend so much time with you recently... But.. I can't be mad at you."

Sighing, he looked down at her hand, tracing the natural lines in her skin. "It's hard to admit, but my parents did something very similar to me... And I still haven't managed to forgive them."

---

W-what?

Riyo's eyes widened to the size of saucers as Vince asked her about her 'relationship' with Klyde. And even though she couldn't answer, he didn't even give her a chance.

And then Mr. McBane said the magic word. With the mention of a woman she had tried her damndest to forget, her face paled completely, the prominence of her blood red eyes almost blinding.

He was accusing her of attacking her mother.

He was... accusing her of attacking her mother.

He was accusing her of attacking her mother!

That goddamn snide blood sucking sonofabitch sitting on his high horse was accusing her of attacking that filthy pig.

For a moment, it looked like she was going to scream and burst into tears, yell at him for being such an insensitive b*****d perhaps...

But instead, her face twisted back into something at least looking semi-calm. She could feel her body writhing at the great weight placed upon the half-dead lump of flesh beating in her chest.

"Mr. McBane." To any stranger, her voice might've sounded calm, but the underlying rage and pain was hard to miss. "I now realize that there is nothing I can do to change your mind about me. Money is much more powerful than honesty could ever be, after all... But know this. You can drag my name through s**t. You can tell your crazy a** sons to find me on a street corner, beat the s**t out of me, and rape me 'till I can't move anymore. Hell, you could even spit in my face right now and call me a dirty lying slut. I will get back up. As much as I don't want to wake up most days, I still do. And I will continue doing that until the day I die, because I deserve every meager morsel of good this world manages to drop on my head after the years of physical and mental abuse I sat there and took like a good little girl."

Shakily, she stood up, clenching her fists almost painfully. "And no lawyer, no matter how rich or powerful. No vampire, no matter how ruthless or cruel, will take that from me..." It was obvious her emotional barrier was breaking down, because she looked sick, miserable, and furious at the same time.

"And now I have to cry and vomit. Maybe not in that order." And with the snap of a finger she turned away and did her best to leave before she left a stain on the carpet.

When he took her hand she finally dared to look at his face and saw that soft smile. Instantly it made her relax a little, a relieved smile crossing her features. But then he mentioned his parents had done something similar. Searching for some sort of explanation, the words slipped out of Mitsu's mouth before she really thought about it. "What did your parents do?" It was too late to realize it was really none of her business, but it had already slipped out.

----

Vince's expression was unchanging as he watched Riyo fight for a moment with what she wanted to do or say. Her words didn't seem to touch him, there was no compassion or remorse in this man who sat behind his expensive desk in a soft leather chair. He didn't have anything to offer in return, not a witty retort or come back. No, he had something a little more meaningful in mind as he watched Riyo head for the door.

"I think my son will make an excellent example in my case. So violent a vampire can't even escape being injured. No wonder your mother was frightened for her life."

Klyde's eyes widened a bit before they narrowed, the glow intensifying. He wanted to scream and yell at his father, but he was already in deep water. If he had the choice he would leave this place...but he couldn't leave Claire behind and he couldn't take her with him. If he tried his parents would hunt him down. "You're a real piece of work." Klyde finally hissed. "I won't be a part of anything you do to help that woman."

Quickly he turned to follow Riyo hoping to console her. He never could have imagined a trip to his house would turn out like this. Sure he expected bumps here and there but with was a complete derailing and sliding off the edge of a ravine kind of bump.

"Klyde!" His father called to him just as he reached the door and against his better judgment he paused but did not turn around. "I would stay away from that girl."

Klyde didn't answer instead he continued to move. There wasn't a chance he would comply with that. "Riyo!" He called after the feline hoping to catch up with her. "Riyo, I'm sorry."

Well...

Desmond HAD told her any question.

With a heavy sigh, the vampire gave Mitsu's hand one last squeeze before giving it back to her, kicking his legs up on the dash and leaning his suede seat back. "It's... A long story." Not that they didn't have ample amount of time here. Nobody visited this playground anymore. It was a miracle the thing hadn't been torn down.

"I may have told you this, but when I was little, my parents had me convinced I was human... Just a very sickly one. It was a very elaborate lie, you see. Because of how sick I was, I couldn't really go to school with kids, nor could I have any friends my age. Children being the little disease carrying creatures they are..."

His tone was matter of fact... But there was sadness buried deep in there. "For a long time, I figured it was alright. My parents loved me and every moment they were home we would do something fun... But some nights I'd look out my window and wish to actually see the world outside. They never told me much about it. Only little tidbits to numb my curiosity, but nothing to really make me want to get out and see for myself."

Shifting slightly, his hand flipped a switch, causing the roof of the car to fold up and give them a better view of the night sky. "I did, though. I figured any place the moon and stars touched would be beautiful... And as I got older, I started sneaking out of my house and coming to this very place. My body was weak from the lack of proper nourishment, so getting here took a lot... But it was worth it. I'd actually met a little girl here...."

His voice trailed off at that thought, immediately jumping to another one as if the idea itself was a dagger. "My parents were all I knew. I trusted them. I loved them. They were all I had... But..."

Desmond's gaze left the sky in favor for a particular swing set in the distance. "One night when I'd decided to sneak out, I heard some kind of... Noise. Something I really hadn't heard before. It was a scream... I decided at the risk of my parents finding out I was awake that I'd investigate. It had been coming from the basement... Dad had told me not to go in there but... Childhood curiosity being what it was..."

There was a long pause in his words at that moment... As if he was still trying to cope with what came next. A hand lifted to comb through his golden hair, perhaps in an effort to comfort himself.

"T-the door was cracked... And there was this smell. It was so strong a-and... Just kinda drew me in. Even if I had wanted to stop at that point... I couldn't... And... When I cracked the door just enough to peek in...

... I watched the two of them kill and eat someone."

Saying it out loud was much harder than telling it to himself. So much harder. "The people who had told me that violence was wrong were ripping some poor sap's neck open with a pile of bodies already behind them... But the worst part was, I couldn't decide how I felt about it... The emotional part of me screamed about how wrong it was... But the rest wanted to think about it over and over, like some sick closet fetish. Eventually it got to the point where I had to ask them... And instead of sitting down and telling me everything... They pretty much pawned me off on Klyde. Like I was some kind of failed experiment." At that point in the story, Desmond just looked miserable. He hadn't wanted to tell her about his parents... Or even about the feelings he had... But in some bittersweet kind of way... It felt good to get it off his chest.

---

Riyo froze in place as Vince threw Klyde at her like a sharp rock, immediately clutching her stomach. If she wasn't going to vomit before, she certainly was now. Instead of lingering and trying to say something, her feet took her the hell out of there and into the nearest bathroom she could possibly find... Where she immediately emptied the contents of her stomach. Not that there had been much in there. She hadn't actually grabbed anything to eat before she and Klyde headed out because of how nervous she was...

Good thing now, she supposed. Though, when there was nothing else in her stomach, her eyes started spilling red. She couldn't say anything to Klyde. She couldn't even look at him. It wasn't his fault. She knew that...

Shakily, she curled up into a tight ball on the bathroom floor. This was a piss poor place for a breakdown... But with the mess her mind and body were in she couldn't really muster the energy to move at that moment.

Having her hand back, Mitsu wrapped it back around her legs as she watched Desmond set his seat back to begin his story. He sounded so matter of fact but Mitsu couldn't help but note a hint of something else in his voice. That same feeling that used to hit her before started to well up. That feeling of sadness that Desmond had ever suffered.

His story had started out innocent enough. His parents had lied to him, she had been told that, but to hear it in more detail was saddening. She could just imagine a younger Desmond looking out his window dreaming of better things. It was heart wrenching.

Turning her gaze upward at the starry night, Mitsu took in the view while she continued to listen in silence, her gaze only leaving to look over the playground that was mentioned. It was an old looking playground, run down and a little neglected. In its time she could imagine it was the best place to be.

As much as she thought she understood, she clearly didn't when Desmond explained what he found in the basement. Eyes growing wide she looked at him with a mix of shock and sadness. Never could she have imagined that was how he had found out. "I...I'm so sorry, Desmond. I had no idea." Slowly the picture of how parents were supposed to be and how they actually were was starting to change in her head. It was hard to imagine someone doing that to their child.

"B...but you said you met a little girl?" Mitsu was desperate to cling to something positive from his story. Maybe there was some ounce of happiness hidden under all the remorse he had gone through. "What about her?" Her eyes looked worried as she reached out a hand to touch his arm.

"R...Riyo?" Klyde had finally caught up with her when he saw her dart into one of the bathrooms. For a moment he lingered at the door while she was sick too nervous to move forward. His family had made a hell of an impression today...and he wondered how she saw him now. Surprisingly when the smell of blood hit his nose, Klyde did not react. He knew what it was so he slowly moved into the bathroom and knelt next to Riyo as she balled up on the floor. "I'm...so sorry, Riyo." His voice cracked and was full of sadness. "I...I had no idea." Slowly he reached a hand out and hesitantly rested it on her head, his other hand resting on her shoulder. There wasn't really anything he could say that could make it better.

"Do you want me to take you back to the dorm? Or somewhere else? We can just drive if you want to." He was desperate to make this better anyway he knew how, and his tone could attest to that.
