((Fish tastes like chicken XD? Liar!))
Boniface followed at a slow pace behind Embry, and waited about 10 feet away from the bank as she splashed into the water. "Chicken? I don't think I even know what that it, let alone what it tastes like." He knew the names of a few of the game animals in his forest. Deer, rabbits, quail, squirrels. Most of this is dad taught him. He was pretty sure Dad had never mentioned chickens though.

(lol that's what my mother tells me.....honestly to me it tastes nasty)
"Well.....some fish do.....Other fish taste...." She was gonna say kinda fishy, but that wasn't a good way to explain it. She laughed nervously as she stared down at the fish by her paws, "I guess it's....difficult to explain what a fish tastes like...." She smiled, "You'll see once I'm able to catch one." She flicked hr paw to try and launch the fish out of the water but missed it by like a foot. ToT She pouted, "I did that on purpose."

Boniface chuckled. "I'll take your word for it," he said, laying down and placing his head on his paws. Patient waiting was his specialty. Only his ears continued to move, swiveling around or flicking back and forth in reaction to sounds in the forest.
((lol I don't mind how most fish tastes, but it's certainly not like chicken to me!))

Embry was soaking wet by the time she finally managed to swat a fish out of the water and onto the forest ground. She beamed triumphantly, then did a small little happy dance inside the water. "I did it.....I actually did it..." She leapt out of the water and grabbed the fish by the tail with her teeth then marched over to Boniface and deposited in front of his paws, "Oh i should warn you about the tiny little bones.....Hmmmm....maybe i should just de-bone it for you so you don't choke on it..."
She looked down at the little fish and debated on how she was going to de-bone it. Finally she placed her paw on the flat side of it and then latched onto the tail with her teeth and pulled the bone clean out of it. "There....it should be safe to eat now."
(lol well i think my mom was always just trying to get me to eat it. though i have heard from other people that according to them it did taste like chicken. i guess it just depends on your taste buds.)

((Alligator tastes like chicken. Fish tastes like fish XD I do like fishsticks though....))
Boniface smiled, though his head was still facing forward rather than tipped up at Embry's face. "Thank you. I will attempt to be delicate about eating it, in case small bones linger." He'd had that problem once or twice with rabbits, but by eating slow and eating enough of them he'd learned to avoid the bones.
He lowered his head to the fish and delicately began to dismember it. There were a couple of tiny bones, which he put into a neat, little pile next to him. Fish wasn't all that bad.

(0 0 alligator.....ewww gross)
Embry watched eagerly as he ate, wondering if he enjoyed it at all. Though she didn't eat fish that often, she had always found it filling. She sat on the ground, then after a few minutes laid on her stomach and placed her head on her two front paws. It had been a long journey to Boni's home, and the exhaustion of the day seemed to be catching up to her.
Since she had chosen the carer position in the Yasashii Tribe there wasn't much for her to do without any kits running around and she found that she had become most lax in the athletic department. She would have to remember to exercise more so that walking this long wouldn't tax her as much.

Boniface heard Embry flop down and lifted his head from the half-eaten fish carcass. "Tired," he asked. He wasn't sure how long the trip to his home from Yasashii was, but he was willing to bet it had been a pretty little walk at the least.

She smiled softly, nodding her head. "A bit....but I'll be fine.....The journey took a little longer then i expected...." She laughed at herself, "I'm afraid I'm not in very good shape anymore...." She shifted into a more comfortable position on the ground.
"I have to remember that exercise is important.....especially since I will have to chase around little kit eventually....I'm sure that they are going to be a handful."

Boniface's face took on a surprised expression. "You're expecting babies?" Embry hadn't mention having a mate or being pregnant before. If he'd known he wouldn't have asked an expecting mother to make a journey that was so long.
((Yay for misunderstandings!))

(lol oh gosh....how funny...that will sure fluster Embry)
"Bab.....What?" Embry looked at him completely taken back. For an entire three minutes she was utterly speechless, "N....No...." She blinked, "I'm not pregnant.....Why would you think that I'm pregnant...." She looked down at herself. She hadn't put on any weight had she? But then again, Boni wouldn't be able to even notice if she had because he couldn't actually see her.
But then why had he thought she was expecting young ones. "I do not have a mate Boni....or children....or..." She blushed, completely confused. Honestly where had that come from. She looke dup and thought about everything that they had been talking about and remembered her comment on chasing kits around, "Oh....Oh!" She blushed even harder, "Nononono....What i meant is that my job in the tribe, my duties are to take care of the kits, but we don't have any right now and.....and i figured that i would need to get into shape to be able to chase them around.....when they do get here...."
Embry covered her face with her paws, "But I'm not expecting any babies....not right now at least.....one day i hope to have little ones....but...I would need a mate first..." She felt like her face was cherry red, which made her paws cover her face more.

Boniface felt his own face heat up in embarassment for the misunderstanding. "Ah, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to embarass you like that. It was an honest mistake though," he said, chuckling at little at his own expense.
For some reason Boniface felt a little glad when Embry had assured him she had no children or mate. He felt a little ashamed of the gladness since he was sure Embry would thrive in a family environment, but the gladness was still there.
To attempt to cover his blush he went back to nibbling at the fish. By now it was little more than a few scraps of flesh, so there wasn't a ton left to eat. He managed to get his expression under control though, and looked back up. "If you want to take a nap, we can go back to my den? It's better covered and more comfortable than a floor." He hoped he wasn't being too forward with the offer.

"Oh it wasn't your fault.....I should know to explain myself...Sometimes what i say comes out wrong..." She continued to blush a little, "I'm sorry that i gave you the wrong impression Boni...." She cocked her head to the side and could have sworn that there was the faintest blush on his cheeks, but then when she looked again it was gone. She doubted ever seeing it in the first place.
Embry looked up, tail wagging as he suggested going to his den, "Really? Oh, that would be wonderful!" She beamed happily, the moment of embarrassment completely forgotten.

Boniface nodded and stood, swiping at the remains of the meal Embry had caught for him until most of it was back in the river. That done he led the way, walking at a normal speed so as not to tax Embry's tired muscles any further. The sounds of the river faded into the background as they moved deeper into the forest.
Soon giant rocks began appearing here and there. At some point the forest crawled right up to the base of a mountain, and these rocks were ancient remenants of old landslids. It was to one such rock at Boniface led Embry. There in the stone was a opening of a moderately decent size, perfect for a den. Boniface wiggled inside first.
The inside of the den was quite cozy. The ceiling was high enough to allow standing, the tips of Boniface's ears barely missing the ceiling. It had obvioiusly been dug out for the space, as the floor inside was lower than the entrance. The walls were a mixture of rock and dirt. To the immediate right of the entrance there was only a few inches of space between it and the wall. To the left of the entrance was where the main amount of space was. There was enough room to comfortably fit three adults, four if you didn't mind close quarters.
While all the floor directly lined up with the entrance was dirt, the rest of the den was set up as a bedding area. Soft moss lined the floor, thick, springy, and cushiony. The floor underneath the moss was covered in dead pine boughs, almost like a base, and dried old flowers and herbs joined the mix, releasing a relaxing smell in the area. Boniface smiled. Every year he had to clean it out in the spring and recollect everything so it stayed fresh, but the result was worth it.

Embry smiled as she followed him through the forest, enjoying the serenity of the area. She didn't mind the silence from her companion because it was a comfortable silence. Everything about Boniface seemed to be comfortable. She didn't feel awkward or exposed like she did some times around other people. For once she wasn't afraid to be herself, even if that came with her sudden hyperness and excitement. She knew that sometimes it was her biggest problem, after awhile most foxes tired of it.
Looking over she noticed the small entrance to the den, and watched as Boni wiggled his way in. She couldn't help but giggle a small bit because the act looked a little funny from her end.
As she walked into the den her nose filled with the sweetness of flowers, "Mmm...." She smiled, "What is that delicious smell?" She walked further in so she could get a few of the whole area and saw the bedding space and noticed the crushed flowers and herbs. She smiled softly, then looked over at Boni. "This.....this den is amazing Boni...." She walked over and laid on the moss covered ground, moaning softly in pleasure at the soft texture on her fur. "It's really remarkable."

Boniface chuckled lightly, staring at the wall in the back of the cave while he sat on some of the sun-warmed dirt at the entrance. "Glad you like it. It takes awhile to find all the moss for softness and warmth, but it's worth it when the cold starts to set in. As for the flowers." He hummed a little under his throat. "I recognize lavender. It's got such a strong smell Dad used to put it in our den so I could find it, and I confess I grew fond of it. There is some honeysuckle, and blossom that fall from the fruit trees. A few I don't even know the names of, I just find them."
He lightly nudged the edge of the mass off pine, moss, and aromatics. "I use a bit of wild mint and rosemary too. Not a lot since I don't want it to overwhelm me, but it's enough that you can still smell it when you fall asleep."
