Anila nodded and continued to the grove of trees. She started to dig up a shallow pit. Then after a moment she dug up a second pit and layered both of them with leaves. There now Faiza will have a drink in the morning if she comes back. If not I will have more water. The BCR on her paw felt warm next to her and was relaxing to Anila. She proceeded to climb up to the lower branches of a tree and she nodded off into a quite slumber.
(time skip if you want Anila is sleeping the day away.)

Fazia was padding back to the tree, the sun setting at her back and casting her long shadow in front of her. She had success in finding a watering hole, though she'd gone a little further than she'd meant to. It was a nice place with plenty enough trees for shade and a couple of small plants. There had been prey in the area, but also some predators. Nothing that bothered Faiza though, so she hadn't worried.
She'd stopped to drink her fill from the small lake, then tried to figure out what to do next. It was a far walk, considering she had run a good deal of the way. And even running back and then walking to return she bet Anila would be even more thirsty and weak. Abandoning the Phim and moving on simply didn't occur to Faiza, for she destested such petty meanness.
She ruled out leaves because none were big or strong enough. Animals skin was ruled out because it would be too akward and the taste would probably be quite bloody. Not that there was anything wrong with the taste of blood, but generally one didn't like it in their drinking water.
There was only one option left that she could think of, but none is didn't include bringing water to Anila. Faiza had sighed and started loping back to the tree. She slowed to a walk as the tree came into view, and walked the rest of the way. The sight that greeted her was amusing. For a Phim that claimed to not know how to fly, she could apparently climb. These trees weren't tiny, all their branches higher up to prevent herbivores from stripping away the trees. There were few lower branches to give a leg up.
She stood under the tree and peered at Anila, wondering if she were still awake.

Anila twitched hearing something move below her. Her first instinct was to check her BCR. It was still on her paw so she relaxed. She opened her eyes and looked down. Below her was Faiza. Anila was surprised that Faiza had actually come back. Anila scooted back to the trunk of the tree and proceeded to climb down by applying pressure to the tree with her nail and slowly alternate between her front legs and her back legs. It was tedious work but it was better to be up a tree a night rather than be caught unawares by a predator. When she finally got down to the bottom she point to the leaved holes. Dew will collect on the leaves and in the early morning there will be some water on them. Did you happen to find some water in the meantime? The thirst Anila was experiencing was more than unpleasant, it was painful. Her voice sounded somewhat strained because of it. She swallowed again and decided not to speak unless it was necessary.

Faiza nodded. "It is about an hour's run from here. Walking I imagine it would take twice as long to four times as long depending on the pace. Flying would take half an hour." She eyed the Phim and almost wished she'd at least attempted to bring some water back. "If you do not think you can walk that far I can carry you. It will be faster than waiting for morning, at the very least."

Anila shook her head determined not to be a burden. . She croaked out her reply. I’ll walk, just point me in the right direction. Anila took a few steps trying to stretch as she walked before having to try and keep up with Faiza once more. I can’t fly, I can’t do much but I will walk on my own paws darn it! I refuse to be a burden to others because I am weak. Anila hadn’t realized she had rasped her thoughts aloud.

Faiza lightly shrugged. "There is no shame in having useless wings upon your back. Through time you realize what was once a heavy burden has made you stronger." Faiza was referring to leg strength, something normal foxes depended on a lot. If she hadn't been a ground walker she would be nearly as adapt a runner as she was today. To her there was no shame in it.
She kept up a much lighter pace this time, taking care not to push Anila too far to her limits.

Anila blushed embarrassed but still followed Faiza. She had not meant to say her thoughts aloud. Still she wondered what the other Phim meant by a weakness becoming a strength. Had I not crashed that one day I would not have met Marcus. I probably would not have been inspire to fly and met my teacher Mr. Morin. I wouldn’t have two beautiful BCRs that will grow into beautiful foxes. They will have their father’s blood in them so how could they not turn out wonderful? Perhaps by not flying I have gain a unique perspective on life and lived in a way that will serve me better in the future?
(Faiza wingless phim and shrink. Who knew?)

((Faiza certainly didn't, that's for sure XD))
Night has long sinced laid her cloak over the land by the time Faiza and Anila got to the watering hole. Faiza had kept an eagle eye on the Phim the whole way, and had to bite her tongue more than once when she was about to insist the Phim let her carry her. Faiza knew how pride could be though, and knew if Anila could make this it might help her gain a better perspective somehow. Suffering, horrible as it was, helped you become stronger.
While Anila went to the water to drink Faiza stood back and kept an eye out. She didn't want nighttime predators to come sneaking about, for it was easy to see the blue winged creature was painfully weak at the moment.

Gulping down the water greedily Anila had to tell herself to slow down before she choked. Right now she wanted to do nothing more than curl up and sleep but to do so would be dangerous on the ground. Looking to Anila she noticed that Faiza was watchful and weary. Her voice was somewhat raspy but much better after drinking water. Do you know of any place we can sleep? Up high is safe and so would burrowing down. Anila looked around for a tree or a large rock they could shimmy up or under.

Faiza sighed, looking around. The trees were always an option if one could climb, which she couldn't. There weren't really any rocks around either. It didn't bother her too much, she could always find a tree to sleep under. If this place proved to have too many night predators then she'd just stay awake and look for better shelter in the morning.
So, to answer Anila's question, she simply shrugged her shoulders.

Anila looked around and spotted a tree. It looked like it was strong enough to support the weight of the two phims. Faiza why don’t we climb that and stay off the ground tonight? Anila walked over to the tree and circled it looking for the best way up. Once she found what should theoretically be the easiest way to climb up she sat down and looked at the way up. She was still tired, but her nap earlier made her feel better.

Faiza looked up the tree at Anila, long tail swishing behind her. "I am not a climber," she said, looking at the tree branches as though they had personally offended her in some way. "The frame of my wings that replace bone are not hollow like yours, and are heavier. They get easily caught on branches. I prefer to stay out of trees and sleep on the ground."
She examined the earth at the base of the tree. Here around the water grass grew close to the edge, rugged grass but grass nonetheless. She'd rather take her chances on the ground that risk getting stuck up in a tree.

Anila frowned. It’s dangerous on the ground though. Anila climbed down looking at Faiza. If you want I can help you get up the tree. You can glide with your wings to get down in the morning. I think that’s a good solution. It’s much safer than staying on the ground and I’m not about to leave a fellow fox on the ground alone. Either we both spend the night in the tree or we’re both helpless on the ground.
Anila did her best to look forimible and stubborn but it failed due to her weariness. More then anything she just wanted to curl up and sleep but leaving Faiza alone on the ground wasn’t gonna happen.

The hint of a humorous smile pulled at the left corner of Faiza's mouth, but vanished so quickly that even if the sun had been up it would have been hard to spot her expression. "I would prefer to take my chances on the ground. My wings are my blessing down here, my curse in a tree. You do not have to stay with me though, I am quite safe. You can act as a lookout, if you think it reason enough."
Another reason she didn't add was that these trees weren't exactly big; her legs would have to hang off on either side to fit. For one unaccustomed to sleeping in trees, these thin branches would probably dump her the instant she nodded off.

Anila’s face showed that she wanted to argue this out and was going to be stubborn about it. Still she didn’t have the energy to argue all night with the other Phim. No. Either we’re both up or we’re both down. She would have said more but a large yawn interrupted her. Pick a spot since you seem so intent on the ground. Anila looked as though she were ready to flop over and pass out at any moment. I don’t get it the trees are stable and it’s hard to fall off you put yourself in the center of the limb and let your legs hang down on both sides like a large cat.
