"Sounds like ye have a big family, Bumblebee," Yabetz replied, trying to picture all the mass of foxes she's described in his head. "Ah doon't think Ah've seen a gatherin' o' more than six foxes at a tyme." Which would be when his family gathered and the occasional visitor dropped by. That had all been a long time ago though. Now Yabetz only ever saw one or two foxes in a bunch.
The two had made it to the forest now, and were walking through the dense carpet of pine needles and old leaves. Yabetz was pretty sure he knew where a couple meadows were, but the possiblility of them still having good flowers this late in the season was a long shot.

Mmmm.. Yavie had to think for a moment. I suppose I do have a big family. I have a bunch of uncles and aunts, and most of them have their own kits. Even without all of them my family is still pretty large with five sibling and my two papas. Hey! Hey! That’s seven foxes alone! If you came and meet up with my family then you would be breaking your own record! Wouldn’t that be awesome? And if you meet my aunts and uncles and cousins you’d break almost any record other than a large tribe I think. Yavie’s head bobbed she was so excited thinking about breaking records. She wasn’t paying attention where she was going and tripped over a fallen branch half hidden by pine needles and other debris of the forest floor.

Yabetz chuckled, and moved to help nose Yavie up into a sitting position. "Aye, Ah would be breakin' a record. Tell me, Bumblebee, does th' rest o' yer family buzz aboot in as nonstop a manner as ye," he asked, winked through his mask at the red female. He couldn't image how parents would have managed with six kits as hyperactive as Yavie was.

Yavie managed into a sitting position with Yabetz help. She blew a few pine needles out of her mouth that had somehow worked their way in when she had fallen. Bleck! Those taste really bad. Yavie looked over in time to see the wink, immediately she grinned from ear to ear. Oh no papa says I’m the chattiest little bird of the bunch of us. Nit is always running off but she has a level head. Altan spends most of his time with grandma Miki; and sissy Kit is super calm. She even leads her own tribe! Itov hardly ever talks. Papa says if you took half my voice and gave it to Itov you would have two normal foxes. And my other brother is always wandering off.

Yabetz nodded. "Ah had a chattery sisteer, bu' she was no' as high energy as mahself. Mah older brother and sister were th' calm and quiet kind. Ah took great pleasure in chewing on their tails," he said, snickering a little. Even with the mask on it had only taken him a week to learn how to get a good grip on their appendages. That bit of practice might have been how he didn't have trouble eating or inflicting small bites now as an adult.

(lol I just had Itov bite Yavie’s tail to shut her up ^.^ )
Yavie looked at Yabetz and stuck her tongue out at him. Chewing on other foxes’ tails isn’t nice. My older brother would bite my tail to get me to stop talking. He had sharp little teeth too. He didn’t talk much but when he wanted you to stop talking you did or else. Of course I’m the only one he ever bit. I don’t know why it’s not like I eve said anything I shouldn’t have. Yavie’s ears folded back at the memory as she pouted about having such a mean brother.

Yabetz had a wide grin behind his mask. "Tha's brothers for ye, always bitin'. Ah tell ye what, if Ah meet him an' catch him tryin' tae bit yer tail, Ah'll bite his f'r ye in return!" Maybe not the best way to go about making friends with the family, but when all was said and done Yabetz had a mischievous soul. Those who didn't run away screaming or fall down foaming at the mouth were usually charmed by his upbeat and cheerful attitude.
((I give up on the accent >_> I'll edit the minor words, but for the most part imagine him talking like the vikings in How To Train Your Dragon. It's killing my brain in attempting to type XD ))

Yavie’s tail waged. That would be great! I don’t think he would try to bite my tail though; now that we’re adults but if he did you’re more than welcome to bite him for me. Yavie giggled at the idea of Yabetz biting Itov’s tail. Wouldn’t Itov be so surprised? I bet he’d jump up in the air and yelp louder then papa Ixen did when we all woke him up with cold noses. That would be so funny

"Weel Ah can't give him a poke with a cold nose, so tha' works just faine f'r me," Yabetz said, chuckling a little. "Ye sound like ye had an interesting childhood, tha's f'r sure!"
The two finally came upon a small meadow, close to the forest edge. Unfortunately this one didn't have any flowers in bloom, but the grass had grown tall enough to tickle the bottom of Yabetz's belly. It was actually kinda pretty to look at, with the sun shining down and turning it a bright green and the light wind rippling over the top.

Yep I had a interesting childhood. I think it was pretty fun though…..Ooo so pretty! Yavie instantly darted out a few feet in front of Yabetz and rolled in the grass. It’s so soft! It feels like I could nap here. Remembering the reason she came she looked at Yabetz from her position on her back. Hey Yabetz I forgot to ask if pixies are so sneaky how do we go about finding them if we aren’t looking for them? Yavies tail began to flatten the grass around her as she wagged it.

Yabetz had to think about that one for a moment. Usually he did everything based on how he felt, so there was little rhyme or reason to his actions. He was pretty sure Yavie was the first to ever show interest, let alone as him questions.
"Ye usually hope tae find them havin' a party. Us bein' animals, they're safe for us tae join without bein' bewitched like wha' happens tae humans. Ah've only stumbled across one sich party, an' they were wrappin' it oop! But they're good hosts and'll invite ye tae join 'em if ye find 'em. Otherwise ye just stumble on 'em as they pick pretty flowers for their homes or hair, or collect some mornin' dew for their cookin'!"
Yabetz said all this in quite a serious tone, without a hint of a joke anywhere.

Yavie nodded paying attention to every word. OO have you ever had pixie cooking before? Yavie’s tail like the rest of her body was completely still except for the occasional waver of sheer excitement. Yavie wanted to know everything Yabetz had experienced. A multitude of questions poured from the vixens mouth, however most where to fast to comprehend. A few that made it out intact where. Was the party fun? Did you get to dance with the pixies? Weren’t you scared you’d squish them by accident? How late do the pixies stay up? Could we pick flowers or pretty plants and leave them for the pixies to find if they like to decorate their homes?

Surprisingly Yabetz was able to keep up with nearly all of Yavie's chatter. He had excellent hearing. He informed her that he never had pixie food, the party had ended when he got there but he bet it had been fun, he hadn't gotten to dance with a pixie and therefore didn't get a chance to squish on. He was pretty sure they stayed up as late as they wanted, and that pixies and faeries usually preferred to pick their own flowers cause they were "picky wee buggers tha' like tae do it on their own."
Finished, he shrugged and grinned. "Ah'm sure Ah'll get another chance eventually. Ye might too, small creatures seem tae like ye."

You really think so? Papa says that I’m good with little mice and things because I’m one of those foxes that doesn’t mind sharing her food with something cute and litte. Still looking up at Yabetz from on her back Yavie was visibly shaking with excitement. I really hope I get to see a pixie party one day. It would be so amazing! I hope you’re there too. That way I could dance with you and not squish any of the cute little pixies. Wouldn’t that be fun!?

Yabetz nodded. "Aye, it sounds like pure dead brilliant fun tae me! Ah wouldn't worry aboot squishin' anything, winged critters always manage tae get out of the way in time." A distant part of Yabetz's mind was commenting that Yavie might make a good mother or carer. Despite her high energy small things seemed attracted to her pure, innocent energy and good cheer. He bet kits would love her.
