Kanjo walked into the library. He was told from some elders that he was able to find some pre-academy information in here. Though being quite smart already, he thought it best to learn some more before school. His parents has taught him to always be prepared and that's exactly what he was going to be: prepared. Kanjo looked for the section about chakra. After a few seconds of looking, he finally found a book on chakra usage.
Search for book: DC 10 vs 1d20 = 17 = Success!

Kanjo opened the book to the first page. The words seemed a bit small, which meant he would have to do more reading than he usually does. Then again, this wasn't some fantasy book about giant ramen noodle monsters so he assumed that it would be harder to understand. After a little while of reading, it was apparent that he had gotten through the introduction and the first chapter. Though he was quick to read the chapters, it seemed that he didn't really understand much of it. Heck, he didn't understand any of it. This didn't get in the way of his studying though. It just made him more determined to learn.

Kanjo turned back to the introduction and thoroughly read it through. He concentrated as much as he could on each sentence. His parents had taught him how to study efficiently, when you don't get something the first time. The information seemed to seep into his mind and stay there. He began to understand what they were talking about. He now understood chakra to be some kind of life essence. The molding of both spiritual energy and physical energy.

Feeling confident that he got the gist of it, he skipped a few pages ahead to the next chapter. This, obviously, was a mistake as he did not understand really anything that they were talking about in the book. He decided that it wasn't a good idea to skip pages so he went back to the first chapter. Carefully reading a page, he started to understand again, if even just a little bit.

Getting excited, yet again, he mistakenly skipped a few key sentences. Trying to continue on with the reading, he got extremely frustrated. Determined to understand chakra, he moved back a few pages and began reading again. Kanjo could already see that this wasn't going to be an easy read.

Being irritated that he could get this so called 'simple' concept, he finally put down the book and tried to calm down. He looked out the window and saw birds chirping. "At least they don't have to learn this. It's such a pain." Taking a deep breath then sighing it out, he reluctantly picked up the book and tried again.

Kanjo moved the book a little faster, really getting the idea. Chakra was actually a really interesting topic to him. Just as he was thinking of becoming a medical nin, he noticed that the he had already made it to the 5th chapter. Of course, he didn't understand much, but he was proud that he understood a bit. He continued reading excitedly.

Kanjo was enthusiastic about getting to the next chapter, that is until he got there. It seemed that the chapter was full of dull explanations of where the body makes, stores and releases chakra. There weren't even any diagrams to show where they were. Getting bored, he spaced out and stared at the floor. There was a little bug scuttling out of the floorboards and into one of the aisles.

It seemed that the bug have came back. This caught Kanjo's attention and immediately, he shifted his eyes back to the bug. It seemed that the book was climbing a shelf. "I wonder if bugs have chakra. I think I read about some of them being able to eat chakra or something. Maybe its using it to crawl up the wall. That would be cool, learning how to climb up a wall with chakra from a bug.

After a little while of watching the bug, Kanjo decided it time that he get back to studying. He turned his head, opened the book and started to read the chapter over. It was pretty hard to understand, but he got the gist of what they were saying. The heart is able to release chakra, and it is near one of the most vital points that can be struck by chakra. Interesting!

Just when the chapter was getting good, Kanjo shifted his hand and accidentally hit his funny bone. This resulted in him dropping the book and evidently losing the page. Giving a big sigh, Kanjo picked up the book and looked for his page. "That bone is just so troublesome. Gosh!"
