Quite adorable. You simply couldn't scold someone that adorable even if they were stealing from the cookie jar. Meanwhile at least his humming wasn't near as offensive to one's ears as singing. Bell noted such as she cuddled close, humming along as well.

And all was well and happy in Xavier's little world, in a way that hadn't been for awhile. Cuddling and humming were amazing activities.
But then...
BEEEEEP, BEEEEEPP, BEEEEEPPPP
And, predictably, the blonde nearly jumped out of his own skin. "Oh jeez." He managed, laughing. "I completely forgot about the cake !"
Well, it was a good thing that he wasn't there only for the food, right ?

"I'll count that as one of my victories then - making you forget about cake," Bell giggled. The beep was a minorly aggravating intrusion, but it wasn't the worst of the evils to have break their happy little world.
"It has to cool before you can ice it. You want me to go take it out of the oven? No need for you to get up really, it's a one person job. It won't even take but half a minute," Bell said with a bright smile. Of course, it was merely and offer. And he truly was an asset to laziness.

Oh, no, it didn't work that way. If it was only up to Xavier, he'd gladly spend most of his time just following her around like some kind of goggly-eyed puppy.
"Im sure I can handle that. Im not that broken up." He said with a grin. "Just hand me the mitts once we're there ?"
If it hadn't been for his broken arm, he might have attempted to carry her. And probably failed, because Xavier wasn't Themis. And henshining just to carry your girlfriend around was a little... well.
You know.

"Alright then," Bell said, hopping up and all but skipping towards the kitchen.
Oh, now, it wasn't like she was that heavy! She barely weighed enough to give blood, and had been denied once about a year ago. However, with the male ego at stake, it was best left at that.
Bell grabbed the oven mitts off their little hanger on the wall and twirled one around a finger, "Here you go~"

It took a little longer than it would have taken a person who had the use of his two arms, sure, but soon the two pans where extracted from the hot oven.
"Do we de-pan them right now ?" Yes, he was clueless. His father was a BBQ master. Not so much a baker.

"It would probably be easier once they're cool. Though on the other hand they'd probably cool faster without being in the pan...." Oh, GAD, dilemma! Bell decided to lessen the painful wait, and grabbed two little cooling racks and placed them on the counter, beside the cake pans, "Feel free to go ahead and try. If one messed up well, there's always the other!"
because the faster the cakes cooled, the faster they could be iced, and the sooner they could be consumed.

...This could become complicated.
Indeed, usually you had one hand holding the cake while the other held the pan. At least, it was how he saw it done on tv.
The problem was that Xavier only had one hand to do this task.
Oh, he tried anyway - mitted hand trying to flip the cake out of the pan as gently as possible. "How'd that go ?"
Unless the cake splitting in two was considered a success... He'd pretty much failed.

Bell laughed, "Well, I kinda expected you to do more like this-" Bell took the other pan and flipped it single-handedly onto the cooling rack then lifted the pan off of the cake. "but that works too. I don't think being broken in two makes in inedible~"
And since she'd probably done some minor ego damage-- "I'll steal let you eat what cake icing you don't end up using." Maybe that thought would ttly win out over the bruised ego.

"...Oh."
Sometimes the most obvious solution went completely unseen.
Damn.
"I bet we can just glue it back together ?" He headtilted. "With icing." Oh, he'd still manage it in a way that would have plenty of leftover icing, of course. "We can rebuilt it. Stronger, faster than before. We have the technology !"

Giggle, "Absolutely," Bell nodded, then decided to turn the humor on itself; "Although, we're trying to put a regular cake back together, not create a cake youma."
Not that it wouldn't just get eaten anyway.
"It shouldn't take too long to cool~"

Oh, she had to mention the cake youma, didn't she ? "If this takes life and starts throwing frosting roses at me, then im swearing off cake for the rest of my life."
Seriously. There was only so much cake trauma a man could take. He had probably been more resistant to the trauma than most had been, most likely.

"Well, lucky for us, I don't own any magical jewels to drop in to it and animate it. So maybe we'll be safe," she couldn't help but laugh anyway.
Bell heard the house creak as a high wind picked up outside. The point of conversation changed, then; "The weather forecast said something about the possibility of snow tonight." She was glad she wasn't patrolling, if that was the case....and especially if the wind was going to continue to be up like it had been just a moment ago...
Just the thought of snow made her rub her arms, as if chilled.

"Really ?" Xavier rarely bothered to check the weather, beyond the info his phone had for him. He'd been caught in a downpour more than once, but he still couldn't be bothered.
"It's been awhile since it snowed this early. I think I was a little kid, even." He leaned against the counter in thought. "It would be nice, though..."

"It is early. I was looking forward to the snow holding off till, oh, late winter? I was hyped up on orange juice all last winter, and still ended up catching a cold at least three times," She shook her head, the said sarcastically, "the joys of patrolling~"
She had no fond memories of snow. It was pretty, yes, but she'd never played in it as a child. She wasn't aloud to. School, boarding school especially, frowned on it. They wanted you well and in class, and not robbing them blind needing medicine to get back on your feet.
"I'm seriously thinking this year, if there's nothing against it in this mysterious senshi handbook, about wearing some leggings or something with my uniform. I don't wanna get sick like last year. Ever. Again."
