Rue's was always fascinated by how they wrote down even just an order for a glass of water. She put her forearms on the table and listened to the piano as she chose to just get whatever the soup of the day was. She was in the mood for soup; she'd been chilly all day.
(( Gotta go to bed, 'night ))

((Goodnight))
Lilly returned with a glass of water in an expensive wine glass with the cafe's logo carved beautifully into it.

Hector then turned and walked over to Lilly. "Oh, Lilly. Some little boy was ignoring the sign and pressing his face and hands against the window outside. I'll need you to get the cleaner and go spray and wipe the spot where he had his face and hands. We don't want fingerprints all over the window, do we?" he ordered. One thing was for sure, Hector's cafe had the cleanest windows out of any building around. Even just a small speck had to be wiped off.

"Yes Mr. Williamsfield." Lilly replied almost robotically. She turned towards the customer and said, "Please excuse me." And went to the back room to get the windex. She returned with the window spray and went outside to clean the window. She found Hector's habit for perfection very irritating.

Rue smiled a little as the glass was put in front of her, remembering all those times she drank sparkling cider in a champaign flute when she was little. Drinking water in any similar glass always made her feel silly.
She watched Lily clean the window over her glass as she took a sip. She understood the sort of compulsive cleanliness, but to her, it was just a small distraction from what was really important: the design of the cafe itself.

Hector smiled and gave a thumbs up to Lily to show that he appreciated her wiping off the hand and face prints of the boy. He then placed his white gloved hands behind his back and scanned the cafe with a careful eye to make sure everything was running smoothly. There wasn't much that got past him.

Atlas ate his sandwich slowly, watching two customers enter the cafe with dissinterest. The only thing interesting him was Esther weaving in and out of the tables, giving people their food and drink. Once he thought about, she hadn't changed at all. She was still that young, clueless little girl struggling to get by; she was the runt. His honey eyes turned to Hector who was surveying the cafe. His eyes narrowed but turned away, mindelssly chewing his food. He disliked the food here. It wasn't like it wasn't good, it was just that he liked eating gourmet, rich food personalized to his liking by his personal chef back at home. This was not really compared to his taste. However, it sustained his needs. He watched Aline sit, eying the girl carefully. Then to the piano player.
Esther bit into the breakfast burrito again, swallowing quickly to get back to her customers. "Thanks Beck!" She said politely, hurrying off to help a customer with the menu. After being asked her own recommendation, she hurried to deliver food to another table, glancing every now and then at Lilly who cleaned the window.

Aline took the menu from the server's hand, perusing over it.
Kallen smiled politely. "Can I start you off with something to drink?"
"Hm.. how about a cup of orange tea and a blueberry scone?" Aline said after a bit.
"Of course! I'll be right back with your order."[ Kallen said, writing down the order in her book and taking it too the kitchen.
Aline opened her sketch book and started to draw a new dress inspired by the uniforms of the servers.

Hector clasped his white gloved hands together and walked over to Atlas with a smile. The man looked familiar and Hector could have sworn he'd seen him somewhere before. Both of their families have met several times for business purposes. However, Hector could quite put a finger on it.
"So how are you enjoying your food? Are you enjoying your stay here?" he asked with a very kind tone. All customers were treated like guests...guests who had to pay for their meals.

Lilly finished cleaning off the spot and went back inside. She walked to the back room, put the cleaner away, and wondered back over to Rue. "Is there anything else you would like?" Lilly asked politely.

Atlas looked up, frowning at who addressed him. He knew the owner of the establishment well and the family behind him. However, by the look on Hector's face, he didn't know who Atlas was. And Atlas peferred to keep it that way. "Quite delicious in fact. Give my thanks to the chef for such a...quaint sandwich," he said with a sly smile. He was ever so good with lying.

"Ah, wonderful. Well enjoy. I'll be sure to give your compliment to the cooks. I certainly hope you'll come back again" Hector said and gave a small gentlemanly bow. He then turned and walked off.
He stuck his head into the kitchen to pass along the compliment and then went back out into the main area again.

Rue turned her eyes up, having been preoccupied shuffling around the layout of a first floor of some community center or another. But now she focused on Lilly. "Oh, yes. Could I have the soup of the day? If you have one for today?"
