Ewww Nitya what happened to your neck? OUCH! Yavie would have asked more but her brother Itov place a paw on Ixen’s side so he could reach up and bite her tail. Not now Yavie. Itov looked carefully at the adults sensing this would be an important conversation.
Ixen tried hard to control his breathing so Yavie wouldn’t fall off. His words came out has a hard and hateful hiss that wasn’t directed at Yuki but rather at whatever had hurt his child. Yuki, what happened to Nitya’s neck? Ixen’s eye’s glittered death for whatever creature has caused pain to his kit. Using his tail he maneuvered Yavie off his back so he could better face Yuki and Nitya. Yavie and go to bed. Now! Itov go get my medical herbs. Ixen was still waiting for Yuki to answer his question.
Itov dragged Yavie off before she could start protesting knowing that father Ixen wasn’t in the mood for her complaints right now.
(wow. Ixen is uh.. mad… *understatement shot*)

Nitya's purple eyes widened, a little alarmed at Father's reaction. She cowered on Papa's back, and left him to answer the question. She might have been disobeying Papa by talking when he told her not to, but he'd been worried rather than angry.

Yuki backed away from Ixen, rarely having seen his mate so angry, and never while looking straight at him. He wanted to blame Mercury, but his voice was cut off by the fear of his larger mates anger. He backed away, ears flattening against his head. "I-I don't know honestly. She didn't say." He whispered back, backing away once more.
"She was visiting Mercury, when he lost her.... she returned here today finally with this gash." He mewled back, just as angry as Ixen but unable to show it with the anger Ixen himself was displaying. Wasn't Ixen the rational one? He kept himself upright to protect Nitya, to keep her from falling.

Ixen saw the fear Yuki displayed and tried to control his own. He hadn’t meant to frighten his mate, but something had hurt a member of his family. Ixen couldn’t stand it. As soon as he heard ‘Mercury’ he wanted to tear the swirly fox apart. He was visibly shaking with anger still but he tried his best to control it. The strain was evident in his voice when he spoke. Now was not the time to rage senselessly. Set Nitya down and fetch some water. Clean water. Itov should be back soon with my medical herbs. We need to take care of the injury quickly or the scar left will be horrid. She will end up with one as is. Ixen tried to swallow his anger so he could work with a clear mind. It was exceedingly difficult. He couldn’t even apologize to his mate for freighting him right now.

Nitya saw the flash of anger in Father's eye at Mercury's name, and she got a little mad and defensive herself. "It wasn't Merc's fault," she loudly protested, or tried. Halfway through the word "fault" her voice broke and she coughed, high-pitch squeaking coughs that sounded like a scraping of glass.

He nodded, gently lowering himself to settle little Nitya down. His eyes stayed on the ground as he padded off to retrieve water, ripping off a large leaf before vanishing into the woods. He traveled to the pond his ex-tribe had once gathered, sighing in despair. He missed Cruor. He missed the noise. Most of all, he missed how secure it had been. Now....now Ixen was even flipping out.
He dipped the leaf in the water, flicking his tail as he scooped it up and padded back to Ixen and Nitya, setting the water down in the leaf. He completely backed away from the two, tail wrapping around himself as he quietly watched over Nitya.

Itov came back with the herb bag that his father had made and set it down close to father Ixen before heading over to father Yuki’s side and sitting by his father worried about his sister. Sensitively he placed a small paw on father Yuki’s tail. His red eye’s held the same fear in them as the father who’s eyes his own took after. He didn’t know what would happen to his sister and he was scared. Large tears began to fill his eyes as he looked at father Yuki.
Ixen made a motion to show he recognized when Yuki came with the water and again when Itov came with his herbs. He would have said something but he was far too much in his own mind and worried about his child. He delicately lifted his daughters head. A sigh of relief went through him. It looked like there had been care taken of the wound before Ixen started. He cleaned the wound with water and numbed the area using leaves that had anesthetizing properties. He chewed on some leaves and roots that would help deal with infection and inflammation and mixed them with some of the water. Carefully the paste mix formed by this was placed on Nitya’s wound. This would help keep small insects and other small things that could enter around the scab and cause it to fester. There would still be a scar of course but Nitya would survive and live. Her voice would sound more gravely, but she would be able to eat and drink without feeling pain. Ixen had kept Nitya awake and numbed through the procedure because he feared if his baby went to sleep she wouldn’t wake up. Ixen’s voice was gentle as he pulled back from his work still fearing for his child. Nitya dear now don’t talk or shake your head. Instead I want you to life a paw and tap it on the ground. Twice for yes and three times for no. Do you feel ok now? Ixen payed close attention to his child waiting for a response.

Nitya winced throughout Father's administrations, glad the wound had at least healed enough to form a scabbed center; the pain only came when he touched at the edges. It felt a little itchy, but it was that kind of itchy you knew better than to scratch cause it would do more harm that good. Like start hurting and still remain itchy! She hated wounds that did that.....
She also had to resist the impulse to roll her eyes. Maybe it was her youth, but she didn't see what the fuss was about. Her weakness was due more to hunger and thirst that the actual wound itself. Nitya decided to humor her parents for now though, and tapped her paw on the ground twice.
