"Never mind what I'm doing in here, this stuff is depressing as hell." Hayden shook his head and strode over to Deskri. The smaller male glared up at him with an expression of such anger it would make anyone who didn't know him think twice about what they were doing to do next, but Hayden simply reached out, grabbed his shoulders and turned him around. "Back to the party, rest assured, I want nothing to do with your emo paintings." He began to push Deskri out of the room and down the hallway again.
"Let go of me you freak!" Deskri struggled against his weight, which was what distracted him from noticing the mistletoe. It was also what distracted him from noticing that Hayden was about to shove him right into Sonnet, which is exactly what happened.
"MISTLETOE, NOW KISS!" Hayden shoved Deskri forward, straight into Sonnet. The smaller male flailed about before latching onto her, rather than fall to the ground. Once he'd gained his footing he shot Sonnet an apologetic look. "There is no mistl---" He looked up. Oh god....

"On the lips too, or it doesn't count," Cedric said with a gentle smile and tone of voice, mainly because it was Sonnet and he KNEW he was messing with her fragile heart right now, and if this backfired.
No, this had to work. He just had to believe with every fiber of his being that Deskri wasn't a complete and total moron. His sister wouldn't have fallen for a complete and total moron.
Or so Cedric kept hoping.
Sonnet wasn't sure what to do. She really just wanted to give Cedric a good punch, laugh about it and ignore the fact that she was under the plant that requires a kiss if two people were under it. But because of Hayden's loud introduction of the rules, the whole room was looking at them, and she heard at least her mom say 'what's one little kiss gonna hurt sweetie?'
She sighed. All and all this was actually a nice present. It'd probably be the closest she'd ever be to Deskri, in this moment, and, she could live with it, right?
Right.
So she smiled, and she kissed the man she had been longing for for years, gently of course before looking back to their 'audiance' of sorts.
"There, you happy?"
Apparently they were, because at least her side of the family all started clapping.

On the lips too, or it doesn't count. The words echoed in his head, and it showed on his face that they were probably the most terrifying words he'd heard in a long time. The color started bleaching out of his face and hair, though his eyes manged to remain very gold and wide as they could possibly go. He wasn't against kissing Sonnet, no, it was just... It was freaking Mistletoe at a Christmas party that he didn't even what to be a part of, in front of EVERY FAMILY MEMBER TO EVER EXIST.
It was a wonder he'd even managed to return the kiss, since immediately afterward his overactive brain just... shut down. He remained in place, just sort of staring, though a blush made it's way to his cheeks nonetheless.
Hayden couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of satisfaction, which of course made his ego inflate about ten times it's previous size. "It's about time!" He gave Des a pat on the shoulder, which earned no reaction from him. "Hahaha, he's in shock, that's just too cute." Hayden erupted into a series of laughs that were not just his own, but every other laugh he'd managed to record over time. Still, no reaction.

After a few fruitless attempts to snap Deskri out of it, Sonnet gave up and ushered him to a chair to sit and ward off the shock as Hayden called it. She probably horrified him to death, and she was really hoping that he didn't hate her once he came to.
Before he could react, Sonnet gace Cedric a good punch on his arm, not as hard as she could, but enough were it still stung. Pleased by his audible 'ow', her next target was Hayden, and she gave him the same treatment, but this time it was on his shoulder because she could reach it unlike with Cedric.
The punches were obviously playful, but they hid an inner warning. "Pull this again and your dead" sort of warning,

Deskri allowed himself to be moved into a chair and sat down, but continued to just sort of stare off into space. Slowly the cogs in his mind started turning again, picking that moment apart and looking at it from every angle. Perhaps the state of shock he was in was actually his only real way of examining himself with a clear state of mind, because the more he sat and thought about it, the more clear things seemed to get. On the outside he seemed to be about as responsive as a door jam though.
"Ow, hey, cut that out, it was a gift you're not supposed to punch people that give you presents." Hayden rubbed at his arm, grinning, but the meaning wasn't lost on him. There would be no second time, this was his brother's one chance, after this... Well, Hayden wasn't quite sure what Cedric was going to do to him, he just knew it wouldn't be pretty.
"Maybe he'll snap out of it if we eat all of his brownies..."

Sonnet rolled her eyes at Hayden, crossing her arms.
"And while it was quite the...unexpected gift, I'd have preffered a gift that didn't send my best friend into an awake version of a coma," she grumped, a tinge of sarcasm in her voice. She then held up a finger at him.
"And you're not touching his brownies..."
Cedric laughed at his sister, amused. "Don't worry. We won't touch his brownies. Might catch something after all."
Another punch in the same spot shut him up.

"It's the threat that matters, whether it actually happens or not..." He shrugged, still grinning like a mad man. He opted to plop down next to Des on the couch (we are magically changing that chair into a couch because I say so) and slung an arm around him. It was unusually friendly of him, but if Cedric was right about this whole thing, Deskri would soon stop being such a whiny emo kid and perhaps they could actually get along. "Dude, you gonna wake up?" He waved the other hand in front of Deskri's face.
It took about another minute or so, but finally he blinked a few times and actually gained a sort of awareness in his eyes. Once he realized what Hayden was doing, he turned his head to look the taller Meta square in the face with of course, a glare. "Get off of me."

Oh s**t, not only did he snap out of it, but as of right now he did not seem very happy. It could be because Hayden was bothering him, or it could be he was pissed about the whole situation, and even at her because she went along with it. Maybe he thought she had something to do with it.
"I...uh...I mean..." she stammered to no one in particular, shifting her weight where she stood.
"I'llgogetusallsomethingtodrinkok?" she blurted out at once and dashed into the kitchen without so much as a question if everyone was okay with that. She just had to not be there right now.
She was too scared to be there right now.

Deskri pushed Hayden off of him and got up to follow Sonnet into the kitchen without a word. He had to at least let her know that he was pissed at them, and not at her. Never at her. "Sonnet?" He moved a little closer to her, sensing that she was indeed thinking that he was angry at her. "I'm not upset at you, just at Hayden, really. He's an a** and.... that was not at all how I'd want to kiss anyone for the first time." He spoke quietly, knowing good and well that Asu was probably lingering just on the other side of the doorway, trying to hear what was going on.

Sonnet was facing the kitchen counter when Deskri walked in, and she was shaking, rather badly mind you. She was doing her best at muffling the soft sobs and sniffles she couldn't hold in. She was trying her hardest to poor drinks, but with how badly she was shaking, it was kind of pointless currently.
"I...I'm s-so s-sorry..." she finally whimpered out, not daring to face him. Not in this current state. She needed to regain her composure. It wasn't her fault. He just said so.
Yet she couldn't stop herself from crying. From feeling bad about this whole situation.

Deskri stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her from behind, and then rested his head on her shoulder. "It's okay Sonnet... really... I didn't mind it, I mean..." he broke off. That state of shock had opened his eyes to the reality that, well, being with Sonnet would be amazing. But some part of him kept repeating it's only been a month.... it's only been a month...

Being so upset, Sonnet's observational skills were kind of hindered, so the full meaning by Deskri's statement was a little lost on her. Still, his arms did bring comfort, and slowly her crying ceased to merely sniffles every here and there.
"O-okay..." she stammered after a few moments of just being there, together with him. She rubbed a tear stained eye.
"I-I should probably freshen up. Don't want to worry anybody else..." she said finally. "C-could you p-pour the drinks and s-start handing them out while I use the restroom?"

"Mmkay.. I'll try to keep them distracted. Which won't be hard, you know how much they just love to mess with me." Before she left, his body did something strange. It seemed to act of it's own accord as he went and planted a quick kiss, not quite on her lips, rather... it was if he had originally been aiming for them but realized what he was doing and veered off course for her cheek instead.
An immediate red tint came to his face, he then made a silent retreat to the living room again where Hayden of course, proceeded to prod at him about it.

Sonnet had adopted a rather red tint herself as she moved to the restroom area. She had such conflicting emotions right now. She still loved Deskri, she never really got over him seeing as there was no one to take her mind and her heart off him, and now...now it was starting to seem that maybe, just maybe, he could be able to love her back.
No, that was impossible. Deskri was gay. He had been very adament on that subject, and she wasn't a guy, she was a girl. He probably was just feeling bad that she was crying. Yes that's it. He'd never kiss her out of true affection. She knew that. She had been dealing with that all these years.
He'd never love her.
After several cold water splashings to her face, it didn't look like she had been crying at all, and her cheerful demenor was back on her face, or so it seemed.
But deep inside, she was planning. She had to tell him. When everyone went home, she had to confess the feelings she had been hiding for years, if anything so she could move on with her life.
She just hoped he wouldn't hate her for it.

It wasn't until Sonnet returned that Deskri realized he'd forgotten to get the drinks. He'd been in such a hurry to flee from the situation that her request had left his mind. "Do you guys even want drinks?" He asked all of a sudden.
The response from his side of the family was no, they did not. They were fine for the time being. That was nice for him, even though he hated the way Hayden and Sono had managed to squeeze him between them, he was happy to not have to get up. Or at least, TRY to get up. He doubted they'd let him get up without a struggle.
The rest of the time was spent opening up whatever presents people had brought for each other, talking about said presents, and then making arrangements for later get together's, namely New Years.
Deskri's house had once again been volunteered, though he hadn't even bothered trying to convince them otherwise, he knew it was a lost cause. Finally, just when his nerves were about to burst, they all left. Leaving Sonnet and Deskri alone to clean up a small mess, since Asu had commanded that Hayden and Sono pick up a few things before leaving.
"So...." He spoke up after a long, long moment of awkward silence. He didn't even know where to begin.
