"As if I'm going to chase your fluffy tail around on the ground. I'll definitely be flying, speedy." Sitara teased, starting to pull herself out of the dive. She leveled out just before they hit the water and kept them going as Dakari glided over the surface of the water.
The water splashing from Dakari's paws sprinkled her face and sides, but she didn't mind. This was her favorite activity to do with Dakari. With her mate. She smiled to herself as they passed over the water.

"I think we've played that game a couples time before. As it stands I lost the first round, but won the second. I think the score is tied on the matter of you getting me from the air while I'm on the ground," Dakari replied, drawling. He lightly bent his paw and another angle, sending a fine mist splashing up to soak Sitara's (and sadly his) back legs.

"Then we will just need a tie breaker." Sitara mused. "Maybe...instead of dropping on you, or dropping things on you...perhaps I can drop you into this nice cool water?" She teased, using her tail to splash Dakari in retaliation. They reached the end of the lake and Sitara grabbed a thermal, rising into the air before bringing them back for another run.
"I bet it's a great way to catch fish." She continued, giving the smaller fox another splash.

Dakari snorted. "We already tried that, remember? I came out of it with a sore neck and you got a sprained wing. Not what I'd call successful or great." And the pinecones didn't really help with either of their injured states, but Dakari just couldn't help teasing his mate. At least her aim had improved since then, which miiiiight not be a good thing.

"That was because we were fishing. This time I think I'll just use you like a rock. That won't hurt me a bit, though I have to wonder if you'll sink?" Sitara teased back. She deployed a smooth figure eight, Dakari's paws cutting wakes in the smooth surface of the water.

Dakari cast a mock glare up as his mate, even as he was enjoying the sensation of water skittering against his paws. "If you drop me in the water of top of a fish, I'm dumping it's carcass on your head." It would be difficult and tricky work, since Sitara was taller than he was, but he was sure he would eventually manage.

Sitara chuckled at the glare he shot up at her and, acting on impulse, leaned down and gave him a quick lick before going into another curve. "You just try it, Dakari. I'm thinking you wont be too successful with that one." She teased him. She headed towards the bank, her wings were getting stronger, but they were still lifting two foxes instead of one, and they needed to be rested periodically.

"Well I'm no squirrel like my step father, but I do remember that one moment I snuck up a tree and managed to drop......I forget, but it was something that required cleaning to get out of your fur."
Dakari paused, a thought occuring to him. "What is it with us and targeting each other's heads? I'm thinking one could argue we're mental or something."

"I remember that stuff. I remember finding some that night, dipping my paw in it, and smearing it on you while you slept in retaliation." Sitara said smugly, chuckling slightly. "Luckily it was just that maple sap stuff. A little bland, but edible enough to lick the stuff off."
"That or we each think the other is too hard headed to get injured that way." Sitara pointed out. "Though I think I'll have to vote for mental."

"Can't be, I'm too wildly clever and would have made sure my intended was also clever. Never as clever as me though, but it's just a given I'm perfect like that." Again the trademark drawl had returned. He had the smallest of smirks on his face. Usually his drawl brought forward the start of some amusing banter, something he was coming to enjoy. Sitara made it so much more fun than when he tried being witty with other foxes.

Sitara snorted. "Oh, yes. You're so clever you decided to mate with a Deava. You realize I could get really hungry and eat you, yes?" She teased. "I, however, am more clever than you. I picked a 'perfect' mate." She grinned at Dakari and swished her tail. She enjoyed their banter as much as the smaller fox.

"Hmmmm, you put me in a difficult position. I could either repute that and claim I am more clever, but to do so means I can't claim the perfect part you just put out." Dakari sighed dramatically. "I guess I'll argue and say I'm more clever, because I picked a mate who can almost match my cleverness and, sadly, who's beauty outshines me." He gave a fake sob as though the admission of someone better-looking than him existing cut him to his very soul.

Sitara laughed loudly and shook her head. "You are the silliest fox that I've ever had the opportunity to meet." She batted him softly with her tail. "There, there, don't cry. Fine, I'll let you win the clever contest. So dramatic, mate." She teased, grinning down at Dakari.

Dakari laughed, a short bark of a laugh, and tilted his head up to look at Sitara. "What can I say, my family has a flair for the dramatic. That or hyperactivity." Akela was most firmly in his mind when he said that. He couldn't really be sure about this father or second sister, Ethe, since he'd never met either of them.
"And have you ever noticed how hard it is to stay mad at me when I put forth my best efforts to be humorously charming," Dakari asked, winking at his mate.

"Well, you definitely have a flair for the dramatic. You could definitely tour the world and entertain all the foxes you met...if I wasn't planning on keeping you all to myself." Sitara replied. "Besides, I think your powers of distracing dramatics will come in handy with those kits we were talking about." she teased.
She agreed with his other statement too, though she was rarely truely mad at Dakari. Every once in a while she would be...like when she threw the pinecones at him, and when she rubbed sap in his fur. But mostly she enjoyed his antics, rather than get all pissy about them.
