 Her body dissolves into foam,
but instead of ceasing to exist,
she feels the warmth of the sun;
she has turned into a spirit,
a daughter of the air. "Herbology was first. How she didn't know that was beyond her. She must have looked at her schedule a hundred times, but still she had arrived late. That's what happened when you enter a new school without an escort. Fumbling in from the November cold, she found the class scattered about.
"Professor sorry I'm late, I'm Fantasy, a new student to Hogwarts." She reported to the teacher. "I was assigned here. Has class begun yet?" She asked, readjusting the strap on her bag, which carried most of her things. At the moment it housed her Herbology things, as well as what she needed for her next class, she was worried she'd get lost again."

Meiko Waltz Comes in the green house fully prepared as she noticed the two new students once again. "Hello again, Demi and Ghaleon~!" she cheerfully greeted as she went to her seat and looked at Heart's small flame flowing from her wand with glee. "That's amazing, Heart~"

Welcome to new students at Hogwarts! I'm sure that if you get lost, your fellow pupils will be more than happy to guide you. Now settle down, let's continue.
Of course, we didn't wait for you to start the class but you only missed hunting for my notes and we were discussing devil's snare and what kind of spells could we use to keep ourselves safe from it.
We learnt incendio, the bluebell flames charm, and lumos solem which produces bright light. (Incendio is used in the books a lot, while lumos solem was used in the film adaptation and games). Although these spells are different in appearance, they will both help because devil's snare likes wet and damp places.
Shall we practice these spells outside of the greenhouse?
Now, hold our wands up, like so and shout the incantation "lumos solem"!
For bluebell flames, we should do this motion while saying "incendio".
Come on class!

Heart holds her wand up carefully, casting "lumos solem." She shields her eyes when a bright light shoots out from her wand.

Her body dissolves into foam,
but instead of ceasing to exist,
she feels the warmth of the sun;
she has turned into a spirit,
a daughter of the air. "Following the rest of the class outside, a safe distance away from the greenhouse, Fantasy readied herself to cast Incendio. Focusing, she lifted her wand and waved it as best she could to match Professor Stars motion. In a clear and articulated voice she spoke. As the word 'Incendio' left her lips the magic flowed though her and out her wand in a weak blue glisten of small flames.
"Well that wasn't what I wanted." She frowned. "Let me try again."
Holding her wand momentarily in her other hand, she whipped sweat from her palm and tried to cast again. Waving her wand more precisely this time, she tried again. "Incendio." This time larger bluebell like flames shot from her wand. She grinned in triumph, but the flames died as soon as her concentration was lost.
"At least I did it." She told herself, smiling with pride."

Demi digs around in her bag until she finally finds her wand. Nervousness encapsulated her as she held it out in her hand. This would be the first spell she would use in her first year of Hogwarts.
She pointed her wand out and attempted the first spell...
Lu-lumos solam.
Her wand tip glowed softly and faded out. She looked around as the others cast their spells. She then swung her wand out in a large arc and almost shouted...
LUMOS SOLEM
A burst of light shone out of her wand as she hid behind her other hand. She smiled with glee and turned back to her teacher.

*Holds her wand up and stares at the tip*
Lumos solem
*nothing happens, takes a deep breath*
Lumos Solem
*dim light feebly drips from the end of the wand*
that was weird.....
*Closes her eyes, takes a few deep breaths and reopens them*
Lumos Solem!
*Bright light shoots from the tip bounces off a coat of arms across the way and shoots back*
CRAAP!!
*ducks*
Maybe I should concentrate on focus AND aim.....

She points her wand upwards so that the flames shower down around her. She immediately drops her wand when she smells the burning. It was her hair.
Argghh!

After watching Heart, Meiko decided to try the spells herself. She took out her wand and cleared her throat and and focused. "Lumos Solem..." after chanting the spell about two times, the dim light from her wand, brighten radiantly. "Oh, cool." she uttered in enchantment as she held her wand in her right hand. After a few minutes, she casted it off as she watched the others perform the spells and listened to her teacher.

 Ghaleon takes his wand and holds it up with a steady hand. "LUMOS SOLEM!" He shouts... though nothing happens at first.
Adjesting his arm a bit he tries again "LUMOS SOLEM!!" and out of the wand a bright light appears. "Neat" He says lightly to himself with a smile.

Just for fun, she recasts the bluebell flame spell, her lips barely moving. Flicking her wand, the flames fly out, brighter than ever.

See profileThe professor flicks her wand slightly and ends up drenching the first year with an invisible bucket of water. "I'll clean this up." With another flick of the wand, she's dry again. "Careful where you point that, it's a powerful tool, if you concentrate, you may be able to make it into a continuous stream. Like so," Stars waves her wand and shouts, "Incendio!" The blue flames shoot above her head for a time. "Concentration is necessary to avoid injuries." She continues to walk around the class and observing their actions. Smiles with the sight of their progress. "yume_nightfire27, you could use an everlasting candle and light it with the charm. I think at this level the charm you need to use to keep the flames going might be too high for you." (I made up everlasting candles >.<) "But, you never know, maybe the Headmaster may share the secret behind the floating candles in the great hall."
