He shook his head, a grin coming over his lips. "Oh, come on." Kupe leaned over to give her a light nudge, tail whipping up a small bit of powdered snow. "Surely your luck can't be that bad. I mean.. I'm still here. Aaaaand you're still here. And we managed to catch some lunch. Nothin' bad has really happened. That little trip you had in the beginning doesn't count!"
Kupe laughed softly yet again, a smile on his face. "Falling down holes? And getting buried under snow? You? Really?" He let out a content sigh before a chuckle escaped him. "Well then, we'll just have to make sure that doesn't happen. Something like that would probably spell out the end of our little hunting trip." Leaning down, he took his last bite from the fish. "Wouldn't want that to happen anytime soon." He added on, tail giving a quick wag.

Cecilia blushed with embarassment. "Well today has seemed like a good day so far. Normally by now I've- Eep!"
As she spoke her tail had been twitching around behind her, a nervous habit. The end had accidently strayed into the water at the lake's edge, and man was it cold!
Cecilia jumped as she squeaked, trying to angle herself away from Kupe so she didn't bump into his jaw or something. Instead she hit a tree, an old pine. She squeaked again as a veritable shower of pine needles and cones came raining down, hiding her head under her paws to keep the tough cones from hurting her too badly.

Kupe nearly stumbled backwards in surprise, her sudden jump more than a little unexpected. Before he could really do... er, anything, Cecilia had managed to run into a nearby tree. Uh.. Well then! So.. so much for that little streak of good luck she had going all day.
A little shaken up by what had suddenly happened, he let out a jittery little chuckle, moving from where he had been seated to help dust off the pine needles and cones that had rained over her. "Hey, you alright?" Kupe asked, snatching up a pine cone between his teeth and tossing it to the side. He looked her over for a moment, checking for any signs of injury before reaching over at another cone daintily. "Hm. You.. look okay. I think. No cuts, bumps, or bruises?"

Cecilia peeked out from under her paws. From the way the strength of her blush felt, her cheeks were probably red enough to pass for her sister. "Oh my, I really was doing well so far, wasn't I."
Slowly and carefully she stood up, shedding extra needles and cones, and took a few cautionary steps forward. It would be just like her to slip and hit the tree again, and this time Kupe was under it, and...
'No, don't even think it,' Cecilia thought firmly, and cut the scenario off before it could finish it. "I think I'm alright. I might have a bruise or two from the pine cones, but they're really little bruises." She twitched her ears, and wrinkled her nose as more pine needles slid down from the top of her head.

"You're sure you're okay?.. Well, y'know, besides the bruises." He kept an eye on her as she stepped forward, looking for.. uh. Well, Kupe wasn't sure that he was looking for. Injuries or.. something like that? He couldn't help but be a little worried, because this.. was Cecilia. He cared about her!
Kupe moved forward, a tilt of his head given as he noticed more pine needles - ugh, pine needles, annoying little things - that had failed to slide off and away from her hair. Giving a light chuckle under his breath, he tried to pluck them away, making sure to avoid making anything messier than it already was. "There, you're all nice and neat again." He gave a little wag of his tail. "So.. Now what? Pretty sure our meal's done and stuff."

Cecilia blushed a little as Kupe picked the pine needles out of her hair. "I'm sure. Stuff like that happens to me a lot, I seem to have a ton of luck when it comes to escaping major injuries."
She thought about knocking on wood so that she wouldn't jinx herself, but was pretty sure knocking on anything around here would cause something else to happen.
What to do now? "Oh my, I'm not sure." She tilted her head. "It wasn't a big enough meal to need a nap. We could play a game, or take a walk? Anything sounds good to me, really."

"You miss out on major injuries?" Kupe gave a short laugh, tail giving a quick wag. "Well then, that's good, at least."
What to do, what to do... Hm. Her suggestions sounded good, especially playing a game. He hadn't done anything like that yet with her. "A game?" He said, tilting his head as he thought about it. What kind of game? "That sounds like it could be fun." His smile grew a little wider at that. But then.. he was stumped. "...Er, any ideas on what kind of game?"

"Uuuuummmm," Cecilia trailed off, humming and trying to rack her brain for ideas. She hadn't really had anything specific in mind when she suggested a game.
"Well-," she finally said, face scrunched up in concentration, "-I can't think of a whole lot. I mean most of what I play others don't think is much fun."
She gave Kupe an apologetic look. "I mean I'm not good at games that require physical prowess. I almost always tripping, and then there's the scattering of stuff falling on top of me or out from under me or just really tedious stuff that puts a crimp on things."
Now she was blushing in addition to being apologetic.
"That only games I'm really good at are puzzle games, like riddles or I Spy, or hide-and-seek.
I mean-," she hastily added, "-sometimes hide-and-seek doesn't go well either. But if I can get to a hiding spot without incident I'm actually a pretty good hider."

"Oh, it's alright. No need to worry about anything like that." Kupe chuckled softly, shaking his head as she went on apologetically. "I'm sure I'll have fun as long as I'm playing with you. I mean, it's fun just hanging out together." He nudged her gently with a paw, grinning a little. "Things will be fun, even if there's some tripping or another run in with a pine tree involved."
His tail gave a flick or two as the two sat together, trying to come up with something they could do... Hm. Nothing, really. He wasn't too good at coming up with these sorts of things. That was alright though, Cecilia had come up with a few good ideas they could go with. "Hide-and-Seek could be a lot of fun. Or even I Spy, if you want to go with that. Either of the two, really! Both sound good to me."

Cecilia giggled quietly, bumping Kupe's shoulder with her own. "I Spy might be more fun for now. I don't know about you, but without a set area for hiding in I tend to get lost when I'm seeking! We can always play that later though, if we want to move around a bit more."
Cecilia glanced around the area, looking up in the trees and out over the lake. She didn't want to make her answer too complicated, at least not for the beginning of the game. Her eyes lit upon a knarled stump near the water's edge, washed up on shore but still looking particularly waterlogged (hahah!). It wasn't immediately obvious, and half of it was hidden by some overhanging foliage. A good first object!
"I Spy, with my gray eye-," Cecilia said, quickly moving her gaze around so Kupe wouldn't see her looking at the stump, "-something.....brown!"
((We could actually probably punt these two in the lifemating thread if we wanted lol))

i will make this pretty later on or something i'm too sleepy right now hi"Alright, that sounds like a good plan to me." Kupe nodded in agreement, leaning his side into hers as they sat, enough to share a little warmth. Simply sitting and chatting like this was terribly relaxing! Why hadn't his siblings ever done something like this with him before? Hm. He hushed a little as their game began, eyes trying to follow where hers looked. There... weren't too many brown objects around - well, besides all of those pine trees with their bark - so this first round wasn't going to be too hard, right? "Ah, let's see.. Is it a..." Spotting some pine cones nearby, he motioned towards them with a flick of his tail. "Pinecone, maybe?~" [Didn't even realize this until now kfhdsf- sure thing! Want me to toss them into the lifemate thread orrr would you like to?~ o:]

“Nope,” Cecilia chirped, eyes twinkling with good humor. “Guess again!” She was actually really glad he hadn’t gotten it on the first try, that wouldn’t have been nearly as fun. Was she supposed to give him another clue? She couldn’t remember, it had been so long since she’d played this game. She decided that if Kupe hadn’t gotten it by his third guess she’d give him the option for a second hint. After all, the game wasn’t nearly so fun if you kept guessing wrong so many times that you got frustrated!
She happily leaned back against him, reveling in the feeling of warmth shared with a new friend and the pleasure of having a good time together with no sense of awkward newness getting in the way. She hoped that when she found a mate someday it could be just like this!
