Alanna was caught in an internal war. A lifetime of running, flinching, ducking, and avoiding was telling her to get off her butt and bolt. This was a male whom she essentially knew nothing about approaching her while she was entirely alone. No brother to back her up if things took a turn for the worse. And really, in an ironic twist, wasn't that how that voice and timid nature were born?
The other side was what kept her muscles locked firmly in place. That secret little voice inside her head that lamented at her lonely life, and begged for romance. It argued this had to be love at first sight! Sure they'd been bantering a bit now, but it was right after she looked in Eon's eyes that the spell was cast. Come on, isn't this how fairy tales were born?
So Alanna simply sat there, neither moving towards Eon or running away. It would be fair to say she was as much at a loss as the male was.

Eon felt a little encouraged by the fact that Alanna stayed where she was and didn't flee from him as he slowly moved towards her. The vixen seemed to be rooted to the ground, and he hoped she'd stay that way until he made it to her. He moved almost excruciatingly slow as he stepped towards her, one paw at a time. Eon wasn't exactly sure at the time what it was he wanted to do once he reached her, but his body was aching to be closer to her and not so far away.
Once he was only inches away from her, Eon sat slowly. He had never felt so on edge before. His mind was racing with thoughts and searching for answers. There didn't seem to be a reason behind his movements or his fear of Alanna running from him, only instinct and feelings. Eon looked down at her paws as he slowly moved one of his own towards it. He seemed to slide it over the earth towards her rather than lift it and he let it rest right next to hers, almost touching.
He figured this was the moment where he said something charming to win her over, but he was still at a loss for words. The only thing he could do was stare down at her lovely fur and pray that she didn't run from him.

It was about at that moment Alanna realized she was holding her breath. She released it shakily. It would have been fair to say this was the closest she'd let any fox, let alone a male, get to her. Still.....
It took a lot of concentration, but Alanna made her paw move. Slowly it went forward, until it was lightly pressing against Eon's. For a moment her shyness was overcome by a wonderment of how warm it was.

Had.... Had she just touched him? Eon hadn't expected the paw he was looking at to move and rest next to his. For a few moments he just stared at it in surprise. A few moments later, he had to remind himself to breath. He felt as if he should say something still, but he was afraid that speaking would ruin the moment he had with her.
Eon looked from her paws to her eyes. Now that he was closer, her eyes seemed much brighter. "Alanna...." He started but trailed off as he couldn't think of anything to say but her name. A gentle smile appeared on his face and he allowed himself to relax a bit, his nerves calming some.

Alanna looked up and blushed. She hadn't really appreciated just how close Eon was to her until this moment. It should have been obvious, her paw was touching his for crying out loud! But there was a major difference in focusing on a paw then focusing on a face.
"What are we supposed to call this," Alanna asked in her whisper-quiet voice. Not that she had a lot of experience to base this off of, but this relationship seemed to be developing in a way that would lead to more than just simple friends.

Eon thought hard about the question Alanna had presented. Honestly he wasn't sure what to call it. Were they suddenly close friends? Or was there the possibility that they were more than close friends? The dark male thought of his friend Veto. They were close friends but he had never felt anything like this with Veto before.
"Well, I think it depends on what you believe." Eon finally brought himself to say. "If you believe in the concept of love at first sight..." He trailed off, letting Alanna come to her own conclusion. "If don't believe in such things, I guess this would be called a close friendship." He knew which of the two he felt but he wasn't sure what she felt. Maybe he shouldn't have said love at first sight; she might think he was moving way to fast. They had just touched paws for the first time, the talk of love was pretty farfetched.

Now Alanna did a little thinking of her own. She was sure she recognized the relationship for what it was, but wasn't sure how to word it. Having a twin gave one a different view on the connections of the soul, but she wasn't sure if she could explain it so that Eon would understand.
"I believe," she said, slowly, "that you can meet someone who's destined to become special in your life. That the souls recognize each other before the physical bodies have even had a chance to become acquantainted, and it creates a bond."
Alanna ducked her head shyly again, then proceeded to add, "It doesn't have to be a romantic bond, like a lot of people think. I knew Harle was special to me the moment his face emerged from the BCR."
((Speaking of Harle, whatever happened to his and Amali's babies? Can't find certs or anything.))

Eon could feel his heart sink lower in his chest as Alanna stated the bond didn't have to be romantic. What if he wanted to have a romantic bond with her? But did she even feel a bond? And if she felt a bond with him, would it be just like the one she had with her brother? The dark male tried desparately to get a hold on his thoughts. He shouldn't be thinking of Alanna in a romantic way since it was only their first night together. Still...
It was clear that Eon was falling head over heels for her and he wasn't sure how to stop.
"I'm not sure what kind of bond I feel with you," Eon said after listening to Alanna. "But I do feel a bond and I know that you are special to me at least in the fact that you're the first friend I've ever made outside my tribe."

Alanna sat there, trying to muster up some courage. Her twin was her other half, the complement that made the a whole soul, but they were also two totally opposite individuals. She knew enough about the feel of a soul-level bond that this one.... Of course she believed she and Eon would turn out to be great friends, but when she thought of her "some day" mate it was always pictured as him being her best, closest friend.
And unless Alanna was flattering herself, there was definetly attraction between the two of them.
"Wh-what if I said I'd rather the bond didn't stop at just friends," she stuttered, voice gradually losing volume so the last was little more than a whisper. She felt her face instantly heat up in a blush and fixed her rose-colored gaze firmly on the ground.
What had she just done? What if all Eon had wanted was to be friends, and she'd scared him off? Or what if he thought she was moving so fast that she was just looking for a fun time and not serious? Alanna tried to cut off the thoughts, otherwise she would be slinking back to hide in the bushes at any moment!

Although she said it in a whisper, the words rang and echoed in Eon's ears. Almost instantly, his entire appearance brightened and he was filled with a desprate hope. It almost frightened him just how much power this vixen had over his emotions. But that's how love worked, right?
Love.
Could he really get to know the meaning of such a word through the beautiful vixen in front of him? One look at Alanna and he knew that in time, he definitely could, no doubt.
"If you were to say that, I would reply that the feeling is very mutual." His voice and smile were soft as he spoke. Eon's tail twitched as he slowly shifted to stand a little closer to Alanna. He wanted to wrap her in his tail and pull her close to him, but at the same time, he didn't want to move to fast or make her at all uncomfortable. If there was hope that she would love him, he would wait forever until she was ready.

Alanna had to take a moment, let Eon's words sink into her mind one by one, for she was almost afraid she hadn't understood him. A warm, glowing feeling centered itself in her chest, one quite unlike anything she'd ever experienced before.
In the shock of the new feeling she even forgot to feel akward, or meek, or any kind of afraid. Was this what confidence felt like?
The feeling prompted her, and Alanna actually closed the last bit of distance between herself and Eon. Some of her shy nature returned as she lightly leaned against him, and she found herself wondering how fast she should be moving under the circumstances and what would be considered appropriate.

Eon felt his body practically tingle with joy as he felt the timid vixen lean into him. He tried to relax as much as possible and not be so stiff although he couldn't help some of it; he was just so nervous.
Feeling Alanna lean into him, Eon decided to take a deep breath and 'test the waters'. His tail slowly wrapped around the three toned colored vixen and pulled her in closer to him.
She was so warm and soft. Eon caught himself taking a deep breath of her scent and a big smile spread over his face. He was pretty sure at the moment that he would never be able to get enough of this feeling that was pulsing through him.

Alanna actually laughed, a quiet sort of thing but at least without hesitance or shyness.
"I was just thinking," she said, voice as soft as her laugh, "that this is the perfect moment for someone to barge in. My brother, maybe, or a half dozen members of your tribe wondering where you've gone off to."
She was still reveling in the feeling of the current mood. In the stories these things never lasted long without some kind of interruption, so she was going to enjoy it as much as she could!

A light chuckle escaped him as the thought of half a dozen members of the Lunarie tribe appearing on the scene entered his mind. He could just imagine his Elders showing up and looking at him questioningly. Or, Moon Fox forbid, his mother. Now that would be something indeed.
"I believe we are safe from interruption due to half a dozen Lunarie members. It's rare to see that many of us unless we're sleeping at the caves. Your brother on the other hand, I can not guarantee that he will not come barging in." Eon said with as he leaned his head down to gently nuzzle Alanna.
Eon wondered just how Alanna's brother would react if he did walk up on them. Was there reason for him to be nervous about meeting her brother? Eventually Alanna would need to meet his mother, but Eon wasn't going to push that anytime soon.

Alanna tried to picture such a scene and shook her head. "Harle would probably suprise you," she said. "He might pull you aside and ask a few questions, but in the end he'd go around congratulating you and saying embarassing things about having to take care of me."
Actually, as Alanna said it, the very thought of her brother walking in now and doing all those things made her blush her brightest scarlet yet!
