Runaiu's ears flipped at this, sending a glance to Amaidi, tilting her head his way in a way to hint that they should both hit him for that remark at the same time. Amaidi seemed more fit for running then Mercury did, and Runaiu was from a family of runners, Mercury would get that hit!
"Oh? I have brothers whom you may like, Sin, Yuki, and Shai. Though apparently now that I'm wicked I guess you're on your own." She mused back, raising her paw and lashing out to give him a gentle but firm swat.

Amaidi blinked showing she got the hint from Runaiu and looked over at Mercury. She knew he was quick at dodging but then again she also had to be quick as well to dash in and save him from whatever he happened to get into. If some how he dodged the both of them she could maneuver right after him
"wicked huh... I have no idea what you are talking about?" and with that she made the classic gibs... made the classic motion of slapping him on the backside of his head with her paw.

Mercury winced comically, though neither hit really hurt. "I see how it is, ganging up on the slow guy. Well!" Dodging wasn't just for evasion. Anyone who had seen Mercury run or hunt would have sworn he was as good as crow bait if it came down to a fight. He would usually shrug, laugh, and agree. Few knew his actual strength.
It wasn't even speed that made him so good as weaving around blows; it was his flexibility. Few knew this, but Mercury loved to dance! He wasn't vain, persay, but the sunlight playing off the rainbow colors in his fur as he weaved sinuously about was fascinating to him. The light of the full moon was even more beautiful.
So, with both vixens so close, giving both of them a tap wasn't that hard. Amaidi got a butt from his head, and Runaiu got a face full of fluffy tail. As soon as he hit he was gone, contorting into a new shape that brought his limbs out of nipping range.

Runaiu used her tail to wrap it around Mercury's back paw, jerking it so he would fall over. "Don't get cocky." She mused at him, safely pulling her tail behind her. That was a trick Unia had taught her. She shook her head, glancing over at Amaidi.
"Females tails are perfect for whipping males into shape." She warned Mercury before shaking her head. He was lucky she adored him.

Mercury chuckled. "Come on Momma, you raised me. You know very well if I wanted to not get caught, you wouldn't be able to catch me." It was already proven that Mercury had some amazing stamina, so his dance-dodging could be kept up until he wore his foes down. It made for fun can't-catch-me games.

Seconds later Mercury was pounced. As Amaidi pinned him to the ground she nipped at his nose. "Oh really then why can I always catch up to you and pounce you" she teased before rolling off and looking over towards her step mother.
"really well when he does more of his stupider acts I shall keep that in mind" She smiled, it had a slight sadistic quality. "like going up and trying to make friends with bears." this was queue for a sigh.

"That bear was perfectly fine with my prescence until you got nearby," Mercury protested from under the black and red fur. "You just have a horrible way with land animals."
He pondered for a minute on her first bit of teasing. "I don't think I've ever seriously played the game of dodging with you. You haven't seen me do one of my dances yet. The full moon one I was going to do was interrupted by that big storm." Now that he thought about it, he didn't think his mate really knew the extent of his ability. He'd never really had any reason to show her.

Amaidi stared at him. 'uhuh and what about the cliff, and the jellyfish and the pack of squirrels and the mountain lion, and the tide pools' she thought glaring at him. "Mercury you have a lot of grace, I know you can dodge and are extremely flexible. I can tell that just as well as I know and can control some of the weather but your coordination is a bit off" she pointed out with a slight smile.
"and you forget about how much stamina I have silly" she said in a more teasing voice. It was true if you didnt have enough stamina you where quickly overwhelmed by your younger male sibling. She had learned very quickly to build hers up after all she had grew up in a family of boys.

Mercury shook his head. "But you've never seen me slip into my other self. Like how you have your violent side and your sweet side. When I start dancing, I have remarkable amounts of coordination." Mercury couldn't have acurately described what it was like when he was truly moving. It was like standing outside his body, and everything moved to the silent songs you couldn't hear with your ears alone. It just didn't feel like it was him anymore, like everything that made him Mercury was stripped away to leave behind only the most primal elements.

"It's true, I've seen him dance before. I taught him one dance I learned from a fox I met while traveling." She mused, flipping her tail towards Mercury, deciding to support the male in attempting to show off. She cocked her head to the side. "Say, why don't you dance for us?" She questioned, smirking evilly at the male. "I'm sure your mate wants to see."

Amaidi was worried. If it was like her sweet and violent side she wouldn't like it. After all the violent side was nothing at all like amaidi she hated it but kept slipping into it because it was useful. "alright, why dont you dance for us?" Amaidi suggested hoping she would be okay with it.

Mercury looked up at the sky overhead, already clouded with tree canopy. "I'd hoped the first time you'd get to see me dance would be on a night of the full moon. The gentler lighting is more ideal." He brought his head down to look at his mate, smiling and hoping he hadn't worried her, then looked at his momma. "Tell ya what. If we find a clearing, and I can find a good angle, I'll dance. It'll look a lot better that way and it's worth the wait. Promise."

"His dances are worth the wait." She assured Amaidi, smirking at the female. She jerked her head towards Mercury, smirking suddenly. If he ever had kits she knew what she would do to them, corrupt them to rebel against their father. Of course, she'd want them to listen to Amaidi, she respected most mothers, but Mercury, well that'd be funny.

Amaidi outwardly seemed like she was reassured but she knew no words could actually do so until she saw it herself. Even then she made up her mind that if she still didnt like it she would just pretend to go to the flow. She had no doubt it would be beautiful but there was just something nagging at the back of her head.

Mercury nodded, satisfied a compromise had been reached. "Alright then! Let's keep on moving." He began padding forward in the way he thought they'd originally been going, then he went very slow so that if he was misleading Amaidi could overtake him and change their course.
