   Alfred---Lady Neon---Ice
"I agree with Tolin. There's too much that needs to be done."Granted he would have really enjoyed the idea of a peaceful holiday, but unfortunately he signed onto this job knowing the world would eventually fall into peril and he'd need to dig it back out. Yay. Neon frowned at that but said nothing as she leaped from the table onto the counter next to the side of the tent and immediately began to rummage through the assortment of bottles and jars there. "I'd have to come with you to see them, they arent fond of strangers and I wont have you getting eaten. It'd be a shame." "Oopsy~" The Espeon's tail knocked over a small jar of berries that tumbled to the ground. "What worries me is Arceus in this equation." Alfred continued, ignoring the clink of glass as the Espeon kept up her foraging. "He's very likely to turn on us at the end of this. We'd be trading one enemy for another, more powerful one. I don-" "AH HA!"Neon nimbly hopped back to the table, a small jar fill with golden dust-like grains between her paws. She nudged it forward to Alfred's hand. "Mind opening this for me?" The Gardevoir said nothing but picked it up all the same to turn the top as he kept speaking. "I don't like the idea of having to fight a completely revitalized Arceus after having just taken out his foot soldiers. The guilds wont get away unscathed from the first attack, the chances there would any-" He paused, having finally twisted the top of the jar and the contents of the air-tight container erupted upward in a fountain of shimmering sand-like particles coating the Gardevoir from head to shoulder. "PFFFT-what the hell is this?!" Dammit! His mouth had been open and everything! He dropped the jar with a growl and proceeded to dust the stuff off himself until a sudden wave of exhaustion struck him and he rocked back off the chair onto the floor. Dead asleep. "Sleep powder."Neon finally answered with a sly smile before glancing to Tolin. "You- I have no problem allowing to galavant off into the sunset. He is an entirely different matter." The Espeon stepped to the edge of the table to peer down at the sleeping Gardevoir and gave a slight chuckle. "I'm not sure that's healthy for ones back. Ah well, he'll thank me later all the same. Now, Tolin. Was there anything else you need?"

TolinTolin took the comment in jest and responded with a light-hearted, partially sarcastic tone. " They won't eat me when they see my entourage, trust me." The unknowns were dealt with after the knowns which meant he would be approaching people with anywhere from a legend at his side to two or three and the Mother Goddess. Attacking him would be suicide. " As for Arcues... I have a plan that might work, but until I have a chat with a few people it'll be impossible to tell." And, well, that didn't come first. That came after Desmond, at least, or he would probably get killed before the first conversation. He wasn't looking forward to that chat with Orion, especially since it was a good chance he would end up having to commit... some version of regicide. He wasn't sure. Tolin let out a laugh as the Gardevoir fell to sleep. Well, this was just like when it had happened to him, wasn't it? ...Though it had actually turned out that he had NEEDED that time and that the ramifications of being drugged involved the loss of several vital resources and significant damage to both the library and tower. " I would like to know a bit more about your clan. I'm afraid I don't know much about them and it would be useful if I knew a bit more before approaching them. I'm not sure if it will matter when the Mother Goddess is beside me, but..." He shrugged. You never knew.

Neon flicked her tail from side to side in thought on how to answer that. "The tribe is very withdrawn and private. To get in at all you'd need a member of the tribe or the Mother Goddess herself. The tribe is ruled by seven 'guardians', each one of the seven Eeveelutions. I was the Espeon a long time ago, I'm sure I've been replaced by now. The leader of the tribe is usually one of the seven guardians as well. I believe it's still Thunderecho if my memory serves correct. You'd have to get express permission from him for the tribe to assist. I would also suggest watching your scythes. The gate keeper of the tribe is an Ursaring with an intense dislike of Scyther. He'd add your blades to his trophy collection..." The prophet Espeon raised a paw to her mouth quietly. "You'll need a tribe member to speak to the Mother Goddess as well..."

Tolin" It is. I met Thunderecho already, he's a touch... strange, but he seemed to be a decent individual." If that was the case, he was already five steps ahead. Moonfall was within the guilds. The Mother Goddess was never far away, for whatever reason. He had met Thunderecho which was to his considerable benefit since it would give him a better ground to start from, although tribe rules might make it difficult nonetheless. " It shouldn't be a problem, in that case. There's a member of the tribe living with the guild at the moment. I'll approach him with at least one 'ally' so he understands the gravity of the situation. After that, I just need to have a chat with the Mother Goddess. Hopefully it'll be easy enough to get her support, although I'm going to wait for the pendant just in case." She wasn't that strong, but fighting her without the pendant would prove difficult. He didn't need the psychic reservoir so much as he needed it's ability to force focus into his mind. Tolin stood up from where he was sitting and stretched very slightly. " There is just one last thing, before I go." It was something important. " Who is the tribe loyal to? Is it the Mother Goddess, or is it Arceus? We're probably going to have to fight Arceus in his tower immediately after the last elite. If... when that happens, the Mother Goddess and the Tribe may try to fight against us. If that's a risk, then telling them may garner us a powerful enemy as opposed to a useful ally." The tribe was reclusive and secretive above all else. Tolin didn't know which they held in higher priority. If they held the Mother Goddess, then it may be possible to convince her. It would be difficult, but it wouldn't be impossible. She was as mortal as the elite were and killing Arceus was the only way to end the cycle of destruction that would happen over and over again. After all, so long as he remained split, the degradation of the balance was only inevitable. Probably, anyways. " ...And, for that matter, has there ever manifested an ability as to 'discern lies'? You mentioned that the tribe has something of an unusual strength. If there's the possibility of having my intent discovered through an ability, that changes things considerably. If it's not, there's at least one lie I can consider that would evacuate them from the final confrontations." 'We used a ritual to return Alfred's power. For a few minutes, he will be Suecra in truth. He will be the God of Destruction at a much stronger power than Arceus is. There will only be two present at that time. Him, and myself. Should anyone else be present, they will be quickly killed.' Something like that. It had, at least, a chance to work. It was a gamble, of course, but the worst odds were taken and every one ended in victory, they didn't have much of a chance. If they could use the tribe to slaughter the Elite, then they would have their full strength (otherwise, at least) to deal with Arceus. Which meant several legendary beings. They were good odds. If he could get them all together, anyways.

"He is a tad odd, yes." Neon smiled lightly at her own image of Thunderecho. They had grown up together as pups and he'd always been a bit on the wild side, whereas she'd been much more sensible then than how she was now. The prophet Espeon seemed torn over something, her face twisting into a grimace. It was clear she was deciding whether or not to be completely honest with Tolin or not. In the end she concluded it wasnt worth the effort to devise a clever lie when he'd need all the information he could get. "The tribe is loyal to Arceus-but...and this is only a small 'but'...if you convince the Mother Goddess to go along with this plan Thunderecho may reconsider his ties. Though Arceus is viewed as the Original One, the Mother Goddess is held in much higher respect...if that makes any sense at all."It was a tad difficult to explain the tribe's views on religion without sounding completely insane. "The tribe is...well, we all have our own abilities. Even as an Eevee my Psychic skills were far above the norm and each member of the tribe has some power or another that makes them unique. Thunderecho can bring storms down where he pleases, his mate is a Glaceon names Snowsong and she can resist most fire based attacks. As for the ability to sense a lie, I know of no such thing, but you have to remember I havent been to the tribe in thirty years. So...I'd go with caution if I were you. If you must speak, speak only to the guardians, do not wander there alone and do not tell anyone else what your plans are." Arceus knows what foolish child would hear Tolin's plot and go running to the Tower of Origins.

TolinHe nodded. " If it was not present thirty years ago, then I have little to worry of if I must. The Elder's are a small group, so I need to be wary of only any 'guests'." If someone from outside the elders but of the tribe was present, there was a reason. It was likely in order to detect whether or not he was speaking the truth. " I think I know how to pull the Mother Goddess onto my side in spite of what we're attempting to do. It's something of a hopeful idea... but it might work. I'll be lying through my teeth about what I 'know', but so long as it remains believable it shouldn't be a problem." He had a fairly good "story" whipped up that he could use. Anyone with a conscience would, at the least, be torn by it. And while Arceus may be the perfectly neutral judge, the Mother Goddess was not. She had her own tribe. She, in all likelihood, would not exist in the next universe should this one be destroyed. She was not essential like the Elite. She was not interwoven into the fabric like Suecra or Creaus. She would just... simply die. As would everyone else. Tolin ran through the information one last time in his mind. It didn't seem as if he needed anything else. The conversation, however brief, gave him more than enough information about the Tribe to devise a plan. He didn't need to know literally everything when much of it could be assumed, planned for and discovered. " Then... Unless there's anything else you can think of, I'll be headed off. I still have some christmas shopping to do." He smiled. Christmas shopping... and they were how far from the apocalypse? " Since I likely won't be back, Merry Christmas. To both you and Alfred, if you wouldn't mind passing it on." Unless there was anything else to be said, Tolin would teleport after the Espeon had had fair time to speak.

"There is nothing else I can tell you and I'll let him know when he's done yelling at me later." Alfred would be pissed when he woke up, the though made the prophet smile. "Have fun, Tolin and tell Serrin I said hello~"Neon raised a paw in farewell to the Scyther. Christmas shopping seemed pleasant but the Espeon was never big on shopping in general. So rather than do what most do on Christmas she decided to keep her tent open for business for any weary souls that stumbled in. Her attention turned to the Gardevoir, who had turned to his side and seemed quite comfortable on the floor. Kids these days will sleep anywhere. She disappeared to the back, returning with a blanket to drag over the younger Psychic and then proceeded to clean the mess she'd made earlier when she was searching for her Sleep Powder stores. ---
"...why am I on the floor?" Neon turned with a delighted smile at the voice and hopped back to the table. "You fell asleep, dear." The Gardevoir sat up, one head to his head. "Did I? I dont remember being tir-ah! My psychics back!" Alfred stood, immediately scanning the room with a smile and sigh of relief. "See? What did I tell you? Now, move along. I have things to do and your cluttering my tent." Her words were sharp as though scolding but a playful expression crossed her face. "And take this. It has the Rock Relic and Orion's gem in it. Be sure to get that gem to Tolin when you have time." The younger psychic nodded, still ecstatic as he picked the small back up and gave a polite bow before vanishing in a teleport.

Neon swept the inside of her tent one last time before turning to the Flygon nibbling on the bags she had stuffed to the brim. The place seemed so empty now, but since she was advisor to the Guild of Morning Star now she'd need to be closer to her allies. Also, living in tents was lame. The Espeon trotted forward to give the place one last cursory inspection before loading up Ice with her bags and taking off to the guild exchange. She decided to stay there as it was the main meeting place for the guilds. If she was truely needed at Morning Star they could contact her easily and she could teleport on her own accord. Chewing on the strap of one of the bags, Ice's head snapped up and he gave a garbled shriek before slamming his head down into the dirt and burying it. Neon jumped in alarm at this. "Hm?" Ah, he must have sensed someone approaching...and now that she thought about it so did she. The Psychic sat down and patiently waited whoever was on their way. Whoever they were they had horrible teleporting skills...honestly.

 Tolin
Tolin popped up outside of the tent. He would've teleported straight inside, but he hated going into buildings. Well, the palace was an exception because it was far too large. He was... satisfied to find that Lady Neon was still there. "Thunderecho said something, just now. He spoke in the past tense." This was going to sound amazingly stupid to say. It really was. "You're the same as Archer was after the ceremony, aren't you?" Or more precisely, "You're dead, right?"

The Espeon offered a smile upon spotting the Scyther. However, the secon he opened his mouth that smile faded instantly. Her eyes narrowed, hardening into cold, golden spheres. "I am not." She said, fur bristling along her spine. Turning away she barred her teeth at the side wall of the tent. "Mine doesn't fade." The Psychic offered no explainations. She didn't want to go into it, she didn't want to explain. Not to mention the downside to having the ability to raise the dead...while you yourself were not completely alive. After a moment her face softened and she sighed. "...what do you want, Tolin? Do you enjoy bringing up painful things?" It seemed to be a trend with him.

 Tolin
So... she was dead then. "No, I don't. But it's better that I ask." He paused for a moment, taking in her anger. It was to be expected. "Right now there's a very, very confused young man on his way here. He's wondering why a prophet has the same name as his dead mother." Moonfall wouldn't be here for a while, but he was on his way. Better that the seer be warned of his arrival and be ready. Tolin's face softened as much as it could and took on an apologetic smile. "I thought you might like to know before he arrives."

Neon
Neon cocked her head to the side, eyes opening and closing slowly as she contemplated to herself in silence. What Tolin spoke of, could it maybe mean...? She hadn't seen them destroy the egg, it was possible...the hopeful thoughts turned to ones of dejection and she lowered her head in a tearful silence for a few solid minutes before lifting it again. "I suppose...I owe you for warning me. I'll tell you what happened...and...what it entails now." The Espeon turned to her Flygon mount, who had lifted his head from his burrow to crane his neck at the Scyther and snap his teeth at the insect's wings in fascination. Ice's theory was, if it held his attention...it was probably food stuff.
"I had a fling with Jupiter Eclipse..." Seven words quickly revealed her anger towards the long-gone Jolteon back at the Tower of Rebirth some time ago. She was unaware that Jupiter had gone ahead and shared the story with Tolin already, so she kept going with said mindset. "We had an egg, had a bit of an arguement over what to do with it. I wanted him to take it with him, I was not permitted to have children of my own...the tribe's prophet is bound by a celibate oath that they care for the tribe first and foremost and if they had children then those young ones would quickly take that position. It ruined the tribe's stability, or so they said. Jupiter refused, I was left returning to the tribe with my egg in tow with the hopes they'd be more open-minded. I was wrong. Those fools. So blinded with tradition there wasn't a second thought before they tore me to pieces outside the tribe walls. When they had gone, I used what was left of my dwindling strength to draw one of my circles. I was dying, I knew I was, but I also knew with my ability I could prevent it. The second I died the circle kicked in and I was restored. With nowhere else to go I left the tribe lands and came here." And it was where she'd been ever since. The Psychic sighed deeply, there was no more tears, no hysterics, she'd come to terms with it all long ago already. "Being brought back has it's downsides. One is more prone to injury as the body is unstable, lessened powers therefor lack of offense or defense in battle, but for me there as an extra payment. My resurrection abilities bring souls back for a limited time, but opening the path to the afterlife when oneself is essentially a spirit causes it to drain them in a sense. With each seance I lose a little bit more of myself in whole. Restoring Arceus, of all things, to life will...undoubtedly be the last straw." She spoke with a sense that she had already accepted what would possibly occur. Neon was no fool, she knew the risks, but she was not suppose to be alive as it were and so her life was nowhere near as important as the others who would die if she did not act. "It was nice...sticking around for a bit longer. I got to meet you and the others. I've never really had friends before. It's okay though, I don't mind. When the time comes I'll do what needs to be done." And she was more than willing to die...in exchange for what could quite honestly be her son's life. That her egg had survived, it was a wonderful notion. She only hoped that whoever this child coming her was, that he understood why she had lost him.

 Tolin
Tolin slowly, carefully and repeatedly pushed the Flygon away in an effort to maintain the solemn mood of the conversation. "I'm sorry, Neon. I've asked you to do something terrible." He had asked her to give up her own life without even realizing it. Possibly even her soul, all things considered. The afterlife was a complicated affair as of late. "But... he's a strong young man. Thunderecho raised him, but he's not like so much of the tribe. He isn't afraid of the outside world or bound to archaic rules. He had always been lied to about his lineage so he may not understand what happened, but I've no doubt that he's always wanted to meet you." Moonfall seemed to bear stares and thoughts of his tribe quite well. He was an adult that any parent would be proud of.

Hearing about what may very well be her son made the Espeon's mood lift immediately, she clicked her tongue in a signal to Ice to leave Tolin be before sweeping her tail across the ground in thought. "I've lived a nice, long time considering it should have been much shorter. I have no regrets, and I've already decided to go through with it."The Prophet flicked her ears at something only she could hear and then gave a small smile. "Thank you for telling me. If you don't mind, I think it be best Moonfall and I speak together alone."This was also code for 'Shawn is going to make a huge, sappy NPC post soon'.

"Of course." He could hardly stand between a mother and her son. Especially considering the strange, strange circumstances. The Scyther began to concentrate on a teleport, but the psychic flickered off after a moment. "Before I go... I doubt it's much consolation, but when Thunderecho named you he seemed to regret what had happened." With that, he disappeared.
