Anila blushed in shame. She touched down gently. He had noticed her tears! She brushed them away quickly. She shook herself out and relaxed as she was sitting on the ground. She wrapped her wings around herself and enjoyed the warmth of her comforting wings. It was strange to draw comfort from the thing that caused her so much distress but that’s the way she felt. It's hard not to get discouraged though. Still thank you anyway Mr. Morin.

"yeah it is, but the trick is to think of the rewards at the end of all the hard work. I mean I've come to find the things a fox or, in our case phim, gets right off the bat doesn't mean as much probably because you haven't put in all the effort to obtain it." Morin pointed out lying down on the ground. "oops I totally forgot about the tuna I caught earlier. See a perfect example, it wasn't hard to get so it slipped my mind" he smiled knowing that example wasn't exactly the best.

Anila giggled a bit. The example he gave was really horrible, but still it made her laugh a bit. She unfurled her wings and tucked them behind her. Her tail came around to rest beside her feet. Do you know of any good forests in the area? I might not be good at flying but I have spent enough time on the ground to the point that I could probably find just about any edible plant blindfolded. Anila grinned; she was great at finding edible plants that would taste great with anything. She was also good at climbing trees despite being burdened with wings that most Phim’s would curse when it came to climbing between tight twisted branches or low thorn filled shrubs.

"well in walking distance none really that close by." Morin pointed out. "There is a close one in that direction but its pretty much only close if you can fly" He admitted and tried to think of places that might have good plants. Of course since he was a scout and not a gatherer he didnt often keep a look out for different plants. "so no none really that close, we have mostly animals and sand and cliffs and the ocean" Morin pointed out making it a mission to look over and observe the land more carefully next time he was patrolling.

Thinking quickly Anila took stock of what she knew of plants that didn't grow in forests. Any large fields on the cliffs? And any way to get down close to the water from here? There are a lot of plants in the ocean that can be cleaned dried and eaten. Fields usually have some good edible plants too. I would scower the cliffs for edible plants but that takes time since I don't do it flying. Anila wasn't sure if she could fly to that 'nearby' forest. still it is an option to bring up. Either that or we could fly to that forest you know of. A-As long as we take it slow I mean.

Morin thought about it. "well right about us there is another cliff with a cave that connects to the ledge right below us. That is pretty close to the water" Morin answered. "although if we go to the forest that's fine too. I don't mind going slow." he looked over and felt she probably brought that up as a last resort. He looked up at the cliff above them thinking that was probably the best bet.

Mmmm… Anila thought it over. The forest has better plants to pick from but that would involve flying, the cliff involves climbing, which is easy but the pickings are much slimmer. Watching Morin she couldn’t help but feel as though he knew that heading to the forest was the far scarier option to her. This sent a wave of shame flowing through Anila. She was disheartened by the thought of heading to the forest; however, not going felt like the cowardly thing to do. She closed her eyes for a moment and saw the beautiful lake with soft blue-purple flowers that Marcus had taken her too. The serenity the image brought her let her make up her mind. I will fly! When she opened her eyes again she looked at Morin with new determination and fire. Let’s go to the forest.
(ok Macus and Anila are going to end up mates. However would you consider crack-breeding Anila and Morin? I don't mean right away, I'm thinking in a while a long while. I wanna see how the kits would end up.)

lol yeah I dont mind them being crack mate buddies. The next one wont be for a while anyways ^_^... look its another threesome *goes to hide from the morin*
Morin nodded smiling at the spark that was back in her eyes. If she could just keep this determination she would be able to fly again in no time. Morin had no doubts about it, and then she too would leave. It was okay though Morin could tell she had some one special to go home too that was giving her the inspiration. Hopefully they would make such a light soul happy and Morin could go back to... well the less any one knew of his current real personality would be better.

(yes *is happy* not only does Anila have a friend in Morin but I can plot for cute little “crack phims”. <- has wanted to say that all day. Yes I am that easily amused.)
Anila was surprised at Morin’s smile. It seemed so nice, she smiled right back. Well lead the way Mr. Morin. Since your tribe doesn’t have anything for you to do I might as will give you some work. Anila spread her wings as she made the lighthearted joke. In truth she was utterly uneasy about flying to the forest, but she had made up her mind and wasn’t about to back down. Instead she did her best to focus on why she wanted to fly. Marcus came to her mind easily. She wanted to show him that she could fly; to show him in that place he had taken her. She wanted to fly above the crater with the lake and look down on flowers and land there. Yes she was scared, but she would fly.

Morin nodded and looked up the cliff face and then out to the ocean. When they had first met Anila seemed to be having trouble going up the cliffs so that would obviously have to be in a different lesson. For right now however there was an easier way to ascend up the cliffs to the desert plain they needed to cross. "alright I'll lead the way" Morin told her before spreading out his wings for the initial take off. It would also be beneficial to see if he needed to help Anila with take offs as well. Kicking up off the ground he flapped the wings until he caught the wind current he needed and swung outwards onto the sea.

Anila’s left eye twitched slightly. Questions of what she had gotten herself into went through her mind. Shaking her head she dislodged the thoughts and focused on what she had to do. Taking a deep breath Anila pictured showing off in the air for Marcus, swallowed and kicked off. Opening her wings Anila felt the rush of cool air swirl below her. Giving her wings a series of powerful strokes she ascended higher into the air. Then confident of her height Anila wheeled out toward the sea and began to glide out towards Morin. Her wings instinctively found good currents to ride even if Anila was a bit too fidgety to notice it.
(Anila's issue is all in her head. Poor girl needs a shrink.)

Not needing to see where he was going, at least for flying over the sea he noticed Anila tended to be doing pretty well and rolled his eyes when she couldn't see them. Her body seemed to know what it was doing, but of course having your head conflict with said programming often created disasters.Morin could teach people how to fly easily, but he was sooo not a shrink. Ah well the male phim said he would teach her so Morin would eventually think of something. Seeing that she was still following he let the thermal carry him up high enough to get over the cliffs and began softly gliding over the land. However the air was slightly different when flying above land and he looked back at anila to see how she was doing.

Anila twitched when they started to fly over the land. The air didn’t have as much uplift when flying causing her to have to work harder to keep the altitudes and the pace. She would tire out much faster than when she had been flying over the kind thermals of the sea. Her stubborn determination kept her flapping on even when she began to feel the sting of fatigue in her joints of her wings. I need to build up some endurance. I haven’t been flying enough to build up strength in my wings. While she was thinking she tried to shift her weight and ended up floundering and had a moment of panic. Saying a prayer to the modieties Anila was grateful that she was able to save herself. Looking up Anila realized how far she had fallen. She worked until she was back up at the altitude she lost, though the effort caused her to sweat because of the labor.

Morin turned around to see that Anila seemed to have lost her balance again although she was able to correct her stance. Seeing as there was nothing to run into Morin flew backward a bit to assess her flying. “Hmmm you’re flapping too much, since you say you haven’t flown in a while your going to quickly wear out your strength. Even though flying over land is a bit harsher you still want to glide a bit. Flapping is only necessary occasionally and when you taking off. However we’ll work on that next lesson. This time I think its just to get you a bit more comfortable and confident and start to work on getting back some of that muscle mass” Morin spoke up.

Gliding. Got it. Anila tried to relax enough to glide and eventually settled on something that looked like a glide but suffered for the frequent twitches in the wings that where Anila stopping herself from flapping. It was horribly comedic to anyone could be watching except to poor Anila who was so self-conscious of this spasm. Don’t worry I won’t wear myself out so soon. Anila tried to smile at Morin and hoped that her fatigue didn’t show. So tell me Mr. Morin; how exactly can I go about building up some more muscle mass for flying. Anila already suspected that she would have to do a lot of practice flights and exercises, but she wanted to know the specific types of stretches she would have to work on. Come to think of it what am I going to go when we land? If I sleep like this after all this work I won’t even be able to take off tomorrow much less glide.
