Of course...Of course, of course, Of. COURSE. Typical! You get hired by a male and you're instantly on the contract for death. The innocent look in Elly's eyes turned into that of a serious devious look in a matter of seconds. Just as soon as the attack was initiated to be precise. She tapped her right foot on the dirt before quickly stringing her bow as she prepared herself for whatever these barbarians had to offer for the two girls. Trying to conceal yourself behind a smoke bomb? Well that may hide yourself for the time being, but it doesn't help that your armor is constantly clattering as you move around. Tristai held her arm out in front of the sniper and took a few steps back just to avoid the soldiers that had suddenly come running at them and swung their sword down hopes to strike them both down in one blow. The sword that sat at the ranger's hips was drawn, meaning Tristai was returning the attack. Elly raised her right hand, brushed a few strands of hair out of her eyes then pulled her pig tail back over her shoulders where it rightfully sat. An arrow was quickly drawn to her bow and just as the smoke was clearing up. The sniper released her hold on the arrow, letting it fly at the second soldier. Quickly, Elhaym drew another arrow from her quiver and pulled the draw string back. She waited a moment before letting it follow her first. The first grazed the the cloth of the thigh while the second arrow was directed at the center of it. She watched him crumple down on the ground, grasping his leg as the blood slowly spilled out. "Hmph" The sniper scoffed, flicking her hair out of her eyes. (( Oh for crying out loud, I don't like that my picture is just right above my post D< *shakes fist* Edit: There we go Edit 2: Yes, I have permission to puppet Tristai just like how Lyre has permissiont to puppet Elly ))

Kiote Deliven The Calm Ranger Everyone seemed frozen in their own stances for a moment as soon as Joshua had encountered Valter. No one had really moved, at least for a short while. Kiote was no exception, though he was calculating how his bow would work if the guards got much closer. Kiote had noticed that he wasn't the only one wielding a bow, but it made no difference really. In a close range fight like this, archers had the disadvantage. What was more unnerving for Kiote was that he could feel at least one person hesitate at the sight of Valter. This was not good, not matter how he looked at it. They were outnumbered and surrounded. Kiote shook his head lightly as someone came through a door, yelling in an attempt to figure out what was going on. Kiote didn't recognize her, but it didn't matter as seconds later the area was suddenly covered in smoke.
Kiote cursed lightly as he lowered his bow. This smoke would make it nigh impossible for him to put an arrow in someone without being almost against them. It was then he noticed the noise, the sound of the soldiers moving around in their armor. Kiote wore light armor, and at that it was hardly enough to really protect him from a straight hi, but he knew what he was hearing. Kiote suddenly pulled up his bow and fired, almost blindly into the smoke, eyes closed. He heard a clash of metal, and it caused him to smile. So using a bow in the smoke wasn't logical, much anyways, but he could use it none the less. Pulling a second arrow to the bow he fired again, this time changing his aim just slightly. Out of luck, he heard a thud and what he could have considered a cry of pain. It wasn't fatal, but it was enough for Kiote.
Kiote pulled his bow over his shoulder as he pulled free Caviel from it's sheath. Without pausing, he thrust the blade out where he had heard the cry and felt metal meet. Adjusting his swing, Kiote slammed against the guard before jumping backwards. He knew he had no reason to kill, but to be honest he had a feeling in a second that not killing wouldn't be possible. In the smoke he couldn't actually aim in a logical enough manner to hit a guard without either killing the guard, or doing no damage what so ever. What was more concerning for Kiote was that the guards had been trained, Kiote had taught himself how to wield a sword, so he wasn't sure he was on par with a guard in sword fighting. Time would only tell.

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!" "The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"
"Don't worry... I will."
Those were the only words heard as the the guards and the bishop came into the dungeon. Vaida stared at them as they passed each other by. She could tell why they were there. But it wasn't her problem. When she got the door of the dungeon, Vaida was met by an out of breath soldier.
"Captain, there you are! Commander Valter has engaged with enemies who have broken into the castle!"
"...What." Normally, Vaida would be enraged at the thought of anybody being able to get in. It wouldn't have happened on her watch. But she also had an idea of who had come. She hoped she was wrong. "Show me!"
Unfortunately, she was not. The dungeon was one level down from the fighting and it didn't take long for Vaida to ascend the stairway and see that the resistance had come. The captain growled. She told them not to do anything that would make her have to kill any of them! They were obviously trying to rescue Rath. Vaida would stay out of the fray in order to guard the only way down to the dungeon, but if any of the resistance tried to get passed her, she would take that person's life without hesitation.
The smoke then began to fill the room and sight of the fighting was cut off. However, smoke could not hide the sound of fighting. Vaida glanced over and saw Isadora not far away. It looked like the woman was blocking another escape route. She didn't know what the acting guild captain was going to do, but that also wasn't her problem. Vaida looked back to where the smoke started and could see bits of figures moving around. "Mages, fire at the first one to come out of that smoke!" she shouted. Vaida knew that the one who actually threw the smoke bombs would end up coming through the clever diversion. "The rest of you raise your weapons and prepare for anything to come at you. Do not let them into that dungeon!"
Two mages took out their tomes and fanned their fingers over the text as they began to chant. When somebody came out of that smoke, he or she would be met with two balls of fire. The others that formed up around Vaida, either more mobile or thickly armored, readied their lances and shields.

You know I can't slow down...
I can't hold back...
*******************
As Lance whizzed past the two guards, he could hear the armor clanking about as they began pursuit. Lance cursed below his breath, but he'd be surprised if no one anticipated his goal when he sent the smoke coins out. It didn't matter, either. Apart from his gauntlets, Lance had no armor whatsoever. Although it made him vulnerable, it also made him more agile and mobile, so he had no doubt his quick legs would eventually shake off anyone following him, not to mention he was a master of stealth. So all he had to do was to quicken up the pace...
That's when he recieved quite the blow to his head and torso, and he toppled backwards, the air punched out of his lungs in a swift motion. Not having aimed enough at the opening to the next room, Lance smacked face first into the wall right next to the opening, which not only left him in a great deal of sudden and surprising pain, but also stopped him in his tracks and left him lying flat on the ground. With no air in his lungs, he couldn't even yelp out a complaint of annoyance at the situation. As he gasped for air, he laid completely motionless, trying to stop his head from spinning around. He didn't dare standing up before he stopped seeing stars, so he only hoped that he made not enough sound to be heard through the fighting.

The boy was suddenly shaking uncontrollably. Had he accidentally scared him that much? Kione stopped moving and turned him around so he saw Wesley's face. "Hey are you alright?" he asked as he knelt down a little. By the look on his face, he was completely out of it, unable to comprehend the situation in front of him. "Hey, snap out of it," said the summoner as he tried shaking the boy to his senses.
"Halt! Stay where you are!"
A voice called out in his direction. Kione turned around to see soldiers still pursuing the boy. Why were the guards even chasing down Wesley in the first place? The scholar never did figure out what was the reason. But the saw some materials in the boy's hands. Bandages? They were chasing him down just for stealing some simple item like this?
There wasn't anymore time to question what was going on. Kione quickly got back up onto his feet and picked up the boy and broke into a run. He needed to get the guards away from him. Kione believed that there was a completely logical reason why Wesley stole the items.
No time to look behind him, no time to make sure if he's covered any distance between them. Kione was not the fastest runner in the world, especially since he was wearing a black robe. Speed would not be on their side, but strategy was. The summoner dodged people and crowds hoping to cover distance between the soldiers. He spotted an alley on his side and quickly turned, hoping to use the alley to get away from the soldiers.
Half way through the alley, Kione suddenly stopped as something in his brain started to pulse. The summoner dropped the boy onto the ground and fell onto his knees grasping his head. "No...don't come out," he struggled to say as the pain in his head increased....
don't come out, don't....come....out....don't.......
...haha
....hahahaha
...HAHAHAHAHAHA
Kione suddenly let out a scream. Not sure if the soldiers had caught up or if Wesley had broken out of his paralyzed state, the summoner slowly started to lose his consciousness. His vision began to also fade into darkness. Soon, his arms dropped down and his hung head lifelessly. Anyone around him would be completely confused of the situation.

Sunil blinked in surprise when the tiger suddenly got angry before ramming into the cat, sending the smaller Beast flying. He was quick to recover, and thus landed on his feet like all cats usually do. He landed...no where near any guards. They seemed to have scurried out of the way.
What was that? I know you are able to do better than th--
What? Why was the tiger getting angry and swearing in growls? Sunil grew irritated with Rajin. He snarled, his fur rising as he glared at the tiger.
You dumbass! Are you that incapable of thinking?! All brawn and no brains? I am trying to buy us both time! You--
Just then, a net went for the tiger. Sunil just stared, surprised. He didn't think Rajin would have been captured that easily. His ears twitched as he heard someone try to get his attention with a turkey leg. Really...? Was that the best you could do? Pathetic.
He gave the guard who tried to lure him with a turkey leg a disappointed look before turning his attention back towards Rajin and the two guards. Well, he probably was going to regret doing this, but he wasn't going to abandon a friend like this. He took a few steps towards them to pull a little ahead of the two guards trying to snag him from behind.(light armor or not, the cat's ears were sensitive enough to catch the faint clinks of armor approaching slowly from behind). Suddenly, Sunil broke into a run, tackling one of the guards off of the tiger's net. Once the Beorc was off and on the ground, the cat spun around and tackled the other one off the tiger. He then grabbed the net area near Rajin with his teeth before he jerked his head back, jumping backwards as well to pull the trap off of the tiger. The blue beast then spat the net out of his mouth. Rope tasted nasty.
Thank you for your lack of understanding of a simple game. I would smack you around for your idiocy, but we are not in a position to duke it out. Let us just do this damn job quickly while I am still in a somewhat good mood. the cat growled at Rajin, backing away slowly away from the guards.((Lemme know if anything needs to be fixed.))

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...→Lance leaped into action, reliable as ever on not following instructions quite as given, and when he threw out his coins and created smoke cover under which to flee the room, Blossom drew her sword more protectively before her.
Even through the smoke, though, she could see the flash of light off of a lance head. Flinching in surprise, she leaped to the side. As the soldier passed, she lifted her broadsword and swung the flat side of the blade powerfully at the back of the man's head. Hopefully the collision would be enough to knock him out cold.
She looked around wildly, trying to either get a hold on how the situation was progressing, or on the location of the soldier, in case her blow hadn't knocked him unconscious. Where had the others gone? She couldn't see them in the smoke. She couldn't see Gale, either. He had come, right? He had mentioned coming with her to help. He was there... right...?
"Mages, fire at the first one to come out of that smoke! The rest of you raise your weapons and prepare for anything to come at you! Do not let them into that dungeon!"
Traitor! You dirty, whore traitor! Blossom thought, gritting her teeth. She couldn't even back up closer to a friend, because this smoke made it too difficult to tell who was an ally and who wasn't. The Hero looked around desperately, starting to grow afraid. If they saw her first when the smoke cleared, then she was going to get multiple flames to the face, and she didn't have Vezra to absorb the blow. "Gale...?" she whispered, hoping to not be heard over the sounds of battle and the shouting from both this room and elsewhere in the castle. She looked back to where Vaida was, wondering how many soldiers she could knock out before Vaida killed her. "Could use some help here..."← You'd better forget everything. Just when she thought seeing the swordsmaster trying to fight off Valter with the uber spear was bad enough, smoke suddenly filled the room. The next thing she knew, she heard the sudden noises of armor and weapons as well as screams. She couldn't see what was going on, but she knew what was happening.
"Hey! I didn't order you to attack!" Isadora shouted. However, the guards didn't hear her. They were busied fighting the resistance.
When the smoke was starting to fade, she caught a glimpse of another person across the room. It was Vaida. What was Vaida doing here? Was Vaida in Rogvald's plan like Valter? The paladin thought the former commander knew better than that. What else did Rogvald bargain her besides threatening the Guards and quitting the guild? When this was over, she would have a talk with Rogvald about this.
"Vaida! Don't-"
It was too late. The mages had cast their spells on someone who came out of the smoke. What was Vaida doing? These were her former guild comrades she was fighting against. Did she really want them dead?
"Vaida! Don't harm them!" Isadora ordered as she drew out her sword, trying to figure out an excuse to keep the group alive. "Just capture them. We'll let King James decide their punishment and show the others an example of what will happen if they defy him."
The Dame Knight didn't like the idea of fighting against her comrades. However, if they decided to attack her, then she would have to defend herself.
Buy us both time?! You little s**t! How is attacking me buying-
Net flew over the tiger as he was trying to argue with the cat. ********! He couldn't believe he got himself distracted to be caught. All because of that cat. Damnit, if that cat didn't attack him, none of this would have happened.
Rajin let out a roar as he struggled to get the net off of him. But the more he tried to pull it off, the harder these bastards were pulling the net, trying to keep him trapped. Damnit! Did these punks think they could keep him caught? He wouldn't let them win without a fight.
But before the tiger could fight back, he felt the left side being pulled down harder than the right, causing the tiger to fall down. What the ********? Since when did one of these bastards become stronger?
When he looked up, he saw the blue cat tackled another guard. Oh now the cat decided not to be a douche and helped him out. Geez, that cat needed to make up his mind. Just because the cat helped taking down the soldiers, it didn't mean that he would forgive him for ramming him.
Once the net was off of him, the tiger shook his fur a bit before he heard the cat growled back at him. Game? What the hell was that cat talking about? All he knew was that he was busied trying to beat up these soldiers before being rammed. In his defense, it was that mangy cat's fault for attacking him.
I'll deal with you later once this s**t is over. Rajin growled back as he turned his attention to the guards. He hoped that cat didn't plan to attack him again or else this plan would fail for the rescue team. That, and he would have made that cat on his next hit list too if the cat dared to do so.

They had come. Despite all the danger they had previously faced, they had come. Gale was none too happy about this fact, and his demeanor displayed this irritation with not a hint of subtlety. He remained silent as he paced by Blossom's rear.
This was not his first rescue attempt. As a Dragon General of Bern, he had been expected to function in all sorts of different capacities, not just those that involved him out on the front lines defending his country. Rescue missions were all the same, and they rested on four core values for success.
1) Know your team. Blossom he had sparred with multiple times since they'd met. Her fighting style was much like that of her mother's. Lance had not demonstrated himself as anything but a blowhard, but even blowhards had their place in these sorts of affairs. They made excellent meat shields. Everyone else he still did not know very well, which was a foreboding sign. He would have to stick close to who he knew and play off of that.
2) Know your mission. They were here to save Rath from the clutches of an evil, tyrannical usurper. At least, that's what everyone seemed to think about him. That was an easy question to answer.
3) Know your surroundings. They appeared to be in a dim castle corridor. There was a fair bit of space around them, allowing the separate sides in the battle to keep good distance between them. That distance would have to be cleared. Fortunately, as previously mentioned, this was not Gale's first rodeo. He had his methods.
4) Know your enemy. There were mages, assorted other soldiers, and at the end of the hall were the two riders he had met previously. Riders had a particular way of fighting when not mounted, and he trusted in his ability to use this as well as fight against it.
Three out of four wasn't bad. He would just have to rely on his own skills more than those of the others with him. Especially since the previously stated blowhard had just thrown down a smoke bomb. As if it wasn't difficult enough to see in here! Gale coughed through the smoke as his eyes darted around to spot Blossom. Fortunately, she was close by. He grabbed her.
"You stay back," he whispered into her ear.
"Mages, fire at the first one to come out of that smoke! The rest of you raise your weapons and prepare for anything to come at you! Do not let them into that dungeon!"
"I'm going forward. Stay safe until you can see what's going on. When the coast is clear, use the cramped area to your advantage and take out the guards." Gale looked around. "Or not. You're a mercenary. Do what works." He gripped her hand tightly for a second, watching her with determination in his eyes, then broke his hold and turned. He could see the flames, distorted through the fog. Thinking quickly, he grabbed his sword with one hand as he charged ahead, heading directly for an unsuspecting guard. He leapt into the air, planting one foot upon the guard's back, and used the leverage to spring even higher, over the fog and flames.
After landing safely, albeit a little singed, he pulled his sword and slashed through one of the unsuspecting mages, using his momentum to swing around and bring an elbow to the another's face. Deciding that would buy him enough time, he ran forward to the huddle around Vaida. The Killing Edge once again slid effortlessly through an errant soldier's form, and he used his momentum to shove through and bring his sword to meet Vaida's defensive pose. Maybe he was a little too cocky for his own good, but he trusted in his ability to defend himself here.
"Let's waltz," he announced to her with a slight grin. "I've been waiting to see how the Legendary Knight Vaida fights."

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!" "The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"
There was merely a glint seen as shining steel flashed upwards, blocking the shredding edge of another's sword. The shimmering silver made the sword in the defensive position out to be new looking and in top condition. In truth, it was hardly ever used. It was a sword that was well kept simply because it was an heirloom of sorts. The emblem of House Valakia could possibly be seen engraved on it if there was but more light. Moreover, the only thing interesting about the use of such a fine sword was simply that it was not a certain spear. It was rare for the wielder of the silver sword to be seen fighting at all without that crimson trident. However, only a fool would have thought that weapon was needed for its former wielder to win a fight.
Vaida growled when she recognized her challenger and then mounted the force needed to push Gale back, shouting to him at the same time. "I told you not to COME!"
The other soldiers began to move after Gale, but were halted by a wave of Vaida's arm. "Hold your positions! Thick armors, remain the impregnable wall. The rest of you shall be the outer palisade. I... shall be your cannon!" The captain's eyes flared a moment before she leaped at Gale. Vaida did not know the meaning of a slow swing and was never one to willingly allow others any reaction time. After her first swing, she kept going and did not let up. She would not let up. She would push her attacker back and if he did not yield, she will kill him, regardless of his sexiness.

Gale grunted loudly as Vaida's sword flew swiftly to meet the edge of his. Frozen in the moment, hypervigilant, he took notice of the blade. It was finely adorned with an emblem that was entirely unfamiliar to him. Other than that, the composition seemed to be that of ordinary silver. Already he had the disadvantage; silver swords were made for durability. Killing Edges were not. His sword was serrated for maximum slicing damage, but the blade was certainly not as strong as hers.
"Why is... THAT?'" Gale retorted with a growl, forcing his sword against one of her mad strikes with a long clang of metal that sounded painfully through the air. He forced all of his weight against her, attempting to throw her off; it didn't work. Vaida was not a frail woman. Instead he merely succeeded in fending off one slash only to have her sword slip away and come at him yet again. Gale leapt to the side, panting. "You don't get to Dragon General by staying back, you know!"
Now was certainly not the time to be admiring the scenery, but Gale took an instant to check his setting. Torches on walls, well-kept floor. Know your surroundings. Guards were at the ready, eager to leap at him at Vaida's word. He could only hope he could hold her off until the others made it through.
Gale took a deep breath, then ran at the woman yet again. His blade danced around hers. Every time the two swords met, a piercing alarm of grinding metal echoed through the room. "Why are you--" His sword met hers and he forced his body against hers as he attempted to gain leverage and overcome the other rider's strength to sway her blade to the side. His recessive hand slipped from the blade's handle, and he swung the fist fiercely at Vaida's stomach.

...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...→Blossom felt herself startle as a hand suddenly landed on her shoulder, but relaxed at hearing Gale's voice. Okay, that was one issue solved. The smoke was already beginning to thin a little bit, at least enough for her to be able to peer through the thinner sections more easily.
"I'm going forward. Stay safe until you can see what's going on. When the coast is clear, use the cramped area to your advantage and take out the guards. Or not. You're a mercenary. Do what works."
Blossom looked back up at Gale, nodding once. "Got it." She smiled faintly, trying to reassure him that she would do so, and watched him charge on before shifting into a more defensive position. There were still guards running around, swords crashing against each other and metal scraping. As Blossom's eyes adjusted to the cloud of smoke, she moved towards the cluster surrounding Vaida.
Vaida and Gale were already fighting, with Vaida crashing her sword against Gale's with as much ferocity as a starving tiger. Gale was fighting valiantly against her, but at this rate--especially with all of her soldier buddies behind her, able to support her at a moment's notice--he was going to need help.
With her attention focused on Gale, hopefully she wouldn't see or hear her approach. With her worn brown cloak still drawn closely around her, Blossom rushed forward, sword gripped in her hands. Vaguely it occurred to her that if she intended on not dealing lethal damage if at all possible, she should have used a smaller sword, capable of more precise movements.
But hey, battle had already started, and sitting there pining would only get her killed. Or worse.
"Why are you working for Rogvald??" Blossom demanded. She leaped forward as she got close enough, swinging the flat side of her broadsword at the small of Vaida's back. Even if it didn't damage her very much, it would still knock her over. And that would open her up to an attack from Gale. Hopefully.← You'd better forget everything. The cat rolled his eyes at the tiger's threat. Can't hit what you can't touch, and speed was basically Sunil's game. There were only a few cats that he could think of that were faster than him.
Since I am helping you... you owe me a meal. the cat purred with a chuckle.
He rolled his head a little before crouching, pawing the ground a bit. Let us try this game then, since the last one was too complicated for your tiny brain to wrap around. Take down as many guards as you can. More guards you get, higher your score. Who ever has the highest score wins. Loser treats winner to a meal. You automatically lose if you get caught. Sunil growled.

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!" "The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"
Vaida instantly grabbed the hilt with both hands when her sword collided with Gale's and began the struggle for power. She glowered at him wide-eyed and her body shook as she began to force the leverage in her favor. When Gale let one of his hands go, the strength needed to bend back his sword was halved and once his wrist was forced to struggle, the battle for leverage went right to Vaida.
"Hrrk!" The punch to Vaida's stomach hit and forced her back a step. She didn't loosen her grip though and responded by only putting more force into pushing Gale's sword back. It would take more than one punch to force her off.
The mage that Gale had previously knocked down with an elbow to the face had by then gotten up, recovered his tome and looked to his captain. He saw the small figure moving to attack her from behind and loyally opened his tome and began to cast his spell. He feared he would not make it in time, but the incantation finished mere steps before the attacker reached Vaida. "Captain! Behind you!" the mage warned. By then a fireball was headed right for the cloaked person, so even though the warning was meant for Vaida, it was also one for the attacker.
The warning reached Vaida a few seconds before the cry from a girlish voice did, but Vaida did not stop to look behind her. She knew she had to move away. That was the trust she had in the soldiers she had trained. Before she was hit by another punch, she used the leverage she had gained to slide passed Gale, her sword slicing passed his face as she went. When she turned to see if Gale had fallen or stumbled, she saw the small cloaked person with the large sword as well. Whoever it was dared attack her from behind! It was infuriating! The resistance should not have even been there. She had told them not to try anything. This was why!
Vaida stared at the two of them and took out the whip from her side, still holding her sword in one hand. The tip of the whip was embedded with sharp spikes. "I told you not to do anything that would make me have to kill you! If you will not flee while you can, then I will put an end to you! Do you not understand?!" She flung the whip out, twirled it around once and then swung mightily towards Gale, pulling back just in time to have it crack upon him. "I will kill you! Don't make me!!" Until something was done about the whip, or Vaida was forced to use her sword instead, she would keep cracking it at her enemies.
More soldiers attacked the others. Some went for the two other girls, whose players left. A knight went for the ranger guy. A pair of soldiers searched the smoke for the thief who just wtf vanished. Joshua and Valter were obviously having ferocious buttsex in the smoke, so nobody bothered them. If any of the resistance wanted to leave, all they had to do was slip out the entrance they had used to get in. Vaida blocked the entrance to the dungeon, Isadora blocked some other random exit and only some soldiers blocked the exit the resistance had used to get in. DEAL WITH IT. ...Injured with pain and sadness, the you that cannot be healed Shoulder the burden of the past that cannot be erased; don't throw away your will to live...→This was a bad idea, wasn't it.
Blossom's sword had been mere inches from Vaida's unprotected back when she heard the warning from her guards, and then the incantation of a spell. It should have been something she knew would happen and expected, but... apparently not. There would be time for her to beat herself up later, but for now, it was a bit more vital to get out of the way.
Blossom immediately tucked into a roll, sword dropping to the ground. It wasn't the most graceful of rolls, but when she got back to her feet and had her sword in her hands again, she only had a rather large burn mark across the back of her cloak to say anything had even happened.
The Hero glanced at her guards, then looked back at Vaida. So we don't listen to you and you don't listen to us. Sounds about right. She could feel the fear settling on her shoulders--she was serious about killing them, even though she knew them and logically should have had more attachment to the citizens of Eyris, rather than Rogvald. But if Blossom had learned anything about Vaida in the short time that they had both been fighting for Eliwood (or at least, her Elibe's Vaida), it was that she was irrational. Irrationally attached to leadership figures, irrational in listening to either them or others. Just... irrational in general.
And lashing a studded whip at Gale was definitely irrational.
Blossom ran towards Vaida and swung her sword again. There was less time for her guards to react now, and hopefully slamming the flat side of her blade into her unarmored, bony hip would be enough to at least get her off balance. That would be time enough for Gale to disarm her, or perhaps both of them to simply get some distance from the madwoman. "Get away from--"
Of course, there was still the whip. Blossom's attack halted inches from her hip as the studded end of Vaida's whip lashed onto her cheek and drew blood. Blossom stumbled back a step, barely keeping a hand on the hilt of her sword as the other clapped up to try to stem the bleeding. Whips weren't the most deadly of weapons, but they were more than enough to startle or interrupt attacks. Such as now.← You'd better forget everything.
