Dakari chuckled, expression wry. "It's a lot different up there than watching from the ground, I'll admit." He looked at Sitara, blue eyes a little wistful. This was someone he would actually miss when they were gone. It wasn't just the flying, Sitara's personality on a whole was very agreeable.

"So what are your plans, now that you're no longer lost." Yes, he purposely used the word lost.

Sitara snorted. "Misplaced." She said haughtily before frowning. "I...I don't know anymore. I was going to go find my brother and pester him some. Maybe catch up with my Papa and my Uncle...." She trailed off as she realized she didn't want to do those things anymore. She wanted to stay here. Sitara had no freakin idea how to say that though. Turns out that she was more lost now than when she started.

She growled softly in irritation and swished her tail. "What were your plans now that you don't have to escort me any further?" She asked in order to stall for time. She had to think of a way to stay without her sounding as if she was tripping all over herself.

Dakari shrugged, feining indifference. "I don' know. Guess go with you to keep you from getting "misplaced" again, since you seem so prone to it."

'Lest anything think Dakari had a fickle nature to just drop any ties to a tribe he claimed to belong to, they're right. Dakari didn't seem much point in staying with the tribe. They weren't established or known, and he didn't feel a connection with any of the members that could trump the connection he felt with Sitara.

And if one day they got bored with each other, he could always walk away and find the next adventure in his life. History wasn't going to bind Dakari anywhere, not as long as Sitara could help him soar away from these twisted cages.

Sitara felt joy well up inside her that he was willing to stay with her...even if he was supposedly doing it due to her slight incompetence. "Bah." She said, not being able to say much more since she wanted him to go with her. "Fine, if you want to be my new shadow." She teased.

Sitara relaxed and smiled at Dakari. "Thank you. I'm glad you want to come with me."

Dakari shrugged, blue eyes serious. "I'd miss you if you were gone," he stated, short and simple. Maybe even sweet, but Dakari didn't do sweet. No he didn't. Ever. Maybe a little. No, never.

"Let's walk for a bit though. My legs are still wobbly a little for being up in the air." That was an annoying drawback. He hoped his body would get used to it after awhile.

"I'd miss you too,Dakari." She replied; it was true. "Alright, let's walk. You'll get used to flying, though. You just need to go up with me more often." She said. She started off back towards the trees, knowing that Dakari wouldn't allow her to 'misplace' herself again.

((Time skip!))

About two weeks had passed since Dakari and Sitara had first met. The male was not a lot more comfortable with flying, but it seemed like everytime he got past one fear (barrel rolls and loops to name a few), Sitara always had another, more frightening, idea that they could try.

They were currently in flight now, circling over a fairly large lake while warm thermals kept them aloft. They'd been debating over the point of it for the better part of half an hour, and Dakari had finally agreed to give it a shot.

And just what were they planning to do? Well, in simple terms, they were going to try fishing like a bird of prey. Sitara would be the wings, Dakari would be the talons. Part of him couldn't see how this would end well, but another part of him was actually excited to give it a shot!

Sitara was feeling proud of herself for finally getting Dakari to agree with her little stunt. She was also proud of Dakari for meeting each challenge she set in front of him. It may take a while, like this one did, but eventually he'd give in to his curiosity; most times he enjoyed the outcome too. It was all about easing him into the flying thing, and he was doing great.

This particular one didn't seem too dangerous to Sitara. After all, she'd fished this way before. Granted now her 'talons' were someone else that she was merely holding in her paws, but the idea seemed sound. She allowed the thermal they were gliding on to take them higher and a little further from the lake, so she could get the correct angle.

She dove towards the large body of water, eyes picking out the shadows of a small school of fish. Heading towards that, they dropped out of the sky.

It was about halfway down their hurdle towards the surface of the water that Dakari realized he had no idea how to really go about this. His paws were not suited towards grabbing things, not even when he was standing still in water! So those got tucked up against his body.

That really just left his teeth, but the idea of sticking his head into water going at a relatively fast speed was also.......yeeeea. But he couldn't chicken out now, they were just seconds away from getting into the proper position!

And so, as they flew over the darting shadows, Dakari snapped at the water. To give him credit he did find there was something wiggly and slimy in his jaws. On the flip side that wasn't as important as the fact that the impact had slammed him so hard he was ripped from Sitara's paws and was now swimming.

Water up one's nose when it happened to be your only source of air also wasn't very thrilling. It forced Dakari to release the fish.

Sitara, having created a situation of equilibrium with Dakari's weight, was also thrown from the sudden lack of it. Her shoulder hit first and she skipped once before dropping below the surface of the water. A sharp pain went through her left wing before fading to a dull, but painful throb.

A sudden and, as far as she was concerned, nearly irrational fear hit her. Not that her wing was damaged, but that Dakari was hurt. Badly. Sitara ignored the pain in her wing, twisting around and righting herself before surfacing. "Dakari?!" She called, not even waiting for the water to clear from her eyes.

"Dakari? Are you all right?" She asked, barely able to stop her voice from stuttering.

Dakari breathed a sigh of relief, then promptly sneezed. Ouch. His nose was going to hurt for awhile. His main concern was Sitara. He'd been above the water and had seen her hit. Those wings weren't meant for swimming, and it looked like she'd met the water with as much force as he had. Dakari hadn't realized just how scared he was until that purple and black head broke the surface.

"I'm fine," he called out, then, just to reassure the vixen his mind was still in it's proper place, added, "Remind me to chalk that up to my list of reasons of why being a fish might not be such a bad thing."

Sitara snorted, relief rushing over her in a way that seemed a bit too strong, but she didn't care. Dakari seemed perfectly fine...though she doubted he got away without any bruises. "You couldn't be a fish if you tried. Fish aren't the smartest creatured on the planet."

The Deava made her way out of the water, shaking to get the water off. Sitara stopped abruptly, her wing protesting the movement with violent throbbing. Holding her left wing a little stifly, she looked at Dakari. "Okay, that...was a bad idea. Fishing shall be done seperately and from the ground."

Dakari chucked a little. He'd swam after Sitara, and stoped in shallower water with half his legs still submerged. He wanted to shake lose the worst of the water without getting Sitara wet or getting wet as Sitara shook as well.

He paused when he heard her sharp intake of breath. He wasn't as well-versed in the ways of the winged, but after spending a lot of time with Sitara he knew that the way she was holding her wing meant it probably hurt. The chuckle came after she made her fishing comment.

"Or at least no more fishing while holding me. I don't seem to have the movement down, and practicing appears to be quite painful." Dakari's eyes focused more on Sitara's wing. He hoped it wasn't horribly injured, he wasn't much of a healer. Shoot, scrape that. He wasn't a healer!

((lol I kinda find this funny cause his step-dad, Leo, has also had to deal with injured wings. He had to help a Phim bind a wing to it's body after it fell out of a tree. This family should become aviary vets XD ))

"Practice doesn't seem to make perfect for this one. Practice threatens death." She teased, turning a bit to hide her injury. It didn't seem too bad, probably a sprain that would keep her grounded for a couple of days. Still, she didn't want Dakari to worry unecessarily.

"It's pretty hard to catch them with our paws anyway. Much easier just to wade into the water and catch them that way." Still holding her wing tight to her back, Sitara moved off to a sunny area, wanting to get dry. Shaking was out of the question, though, she thought it was just a sprain, but she didn't want to make it worse either.

Dakari shrugged, stepping out of the water. "I was trying to catch it with my mouth. Like a sideways snap of the head or something. Apparently fly-fishing is one of the few things I'm not inherantly perfect at." He said the last sentence with such a straight face it was near impossible to tell if he was joking or serious.
