Harvest shook her head softly. Little ones? Hardly. It was her personality that kept others off, she was protecting herself and her mental state. She had seen what being kind and trusting did to people, she had watched as others been betrayed. Besides, she just wasn't the social type, much. Taiat was the kind of person she didn't mind though, he gave interesting conversation but didn't annoy her, unlike a certain someone she knew. "No, I doubt I will ever have a mate or children, though honestly I am not opposed to it."
She glanced at his fur, shaking her head yet again. "Your fur is not plain, I find it actually appealing. Most have coats that are complicated, bright, or distracting to the eye, like mine. Yours is simple but appealing."

Why don't you think you will have a mate or kits? If you don't mind me asking. Taiat found it hard to believe that anyone would have any sort of problem with Harvest. She is polite and smart... any other thoughts that Taiat had on the subject were cut off when she complimented him. What? Thank you. Your coat is distracting. He stated bluntly. It's beautiful. The white and hues of purple are unusual and unique just like your yellow flame. They compliment one another and make you special and unmistakable. You are an aesthetic masterpiece whose coat suits you're personality. You shouldn't underrate yourself.

Harvest didn't comment right away, instead glancing at herself. So, she was unique? She was hardly a masterpiece, but she wasn't going to argue, not one to want to seem desperate for compliments. Her cheeks were faintly warm as he called her coat beautiful, not meeting his eyes. Instead, she focused on his question.
"My personality tends to scare others off, and so does my species. Many believe my kind are all cruel and heartless, I've encountered only a handful who have not judge me this way. However, I doubt anyone will take an interest in a fox such as myself, and even if one did who would want to bear kits with a female who has difficulty expressing feelings as it is? I doubt I would be a good mother."
She shrugged at this, having accepted this fate a long time ago. The young adult merely moved the water around her limbs, embracing the cooling temperature.

Taiat sat down where he was in the shallow part of the spring and snorted . Those who judge only on species are the type that jump off a canyon wall if you say there is a river at the bottom when their own eyes tell them there isn't, and there really isn't one.Besides you express yourself quite well. Maybe it's not that you aren't expressing yourself but rather that others aren't asking the right questions. I think you would make a good mother. You seem like the type to teach but not be hypocritical about it. That's a good thing for a kit to see. Taia tilted his head as he said this thinking it over. He had been speaking to Harvest for quite some time and his word were accurate.

Harvest laughed at this, tilting her head at the other. What was it with his way of speaking? No matter what he said he always sounded correct and as if he was fairly experienced. "You have an interesting view of things, Taiat." She mused, smirking gently. "Even still, despite if what you said is true, in the end the result is the same. I will end up the same. There are very few out there unbiased, and even fewer who would accept who I am, and since I am not searching for that someone I doubt I will ever realize if I find them."
She wasn't searching, she was right about that. If it ever came to her, she would accept it. But not finding a home, not finding a mate or kits, this was something she was prepared for.

Annoying. Yes that's the word. Taiat decided that Harvest was underrating herself far too much and that was annoying. She was strong, smart, beautiful, and talented. How could he make her see that? What did most other foxes do to foxes that they liked and wanted to cheer up? Taiat thought for a moment then as he remembered he acted on the vague memory. He leaned over and licked Harvest's cheek. An amazing fox like you will never spend her life alone. I don't know who will be lucky enough to have you pick them for your mate, but I know that they are a lucky fox. Taiat nodded and smiled. He was certain Harvest would listen to his words now.

Harvest scanned Taiat, noticing how his body seemed to have changed. She must been be doing something to bother him. She hadn't expected the lick, backing away from it after it was done and blinking at him. He had licked her. What the...? The female looked away, nodding quietly, deciding to accept his words. Her cheeks felt warm yet again, shocked by the contact. She was still unsure of what to make of it. Surely it was a friendly gesture. Wait, did that make Taiat...her friend?

Taiat blinked his smile fading. Had he done something wrong? Why wouldn't Harvest face him. He had wanted to cheer her up not upset her? How do I fix this? Taiat stood up and walked around to in front of Harvest. The spring water was a little deeper but not too bad. He lowered his down by the water and looked at Harvest from an angle trying to see if she was upset with him. Harvest? Are you ok?
( >.< I almost made a horrible comparison of Harvest then I realized that might be insulting. I'm sorry for even thinking it.)

Harvest flung her head to the other side as Taiat traveled over to look at her. She didn't answer, ears against her head. Was she okay? No. She was acting like a small kit, wondering if Taiat was her friend, wondering if he was even someone close to her. What was she doing? She felt like an idiot, all these thoughts and new emotions rushing through her, if only she could shut them out. "I am fine, merely surprised." She mumbled quietly, turning her head very slightly to glance at Taiat.
"No, I am sorry if I offended you. I should not have been putting myself down, it makes the air tense. I apologize."

(I almost had Taiat compare her to a kit. in my post were I apologized I almost put 'He was certain Harvest would listen to his words now, after all kits always cheered up when affection was shown to them. Wouldn't Harvest too?' but Taiat doesn't see Harvest as a kit so the comparison would have been very wrong.)
Taiat sat up straight. Please don't apologize. You have done nothing wrong. I just don't like seeing you degrade yourself. I thought to cheer you up, but it seems I failed and only made you uncomfortable. My apologies miss Harvest. Taiat bowed his head low enough that he got water up his nose and retreated to the deep end of the spring to give Harvest some space. I screwed up again. No surprise. I really can't talk to other foxes. I am a failure.

Harvest twitched at the "miss" part, giving Taiat a sudden and firm glare. "I am not old, yet!" She called out, shaking her head. In her mind, only the older foxes were called miss, and she was still barely an adult! She sighed, watching as Taiat pulled away from her. Her ears lowered against her head, a deep sigh escaping her. 'Great, I scared him off. That seems to be my talent.' She considered getting up and excusing herself, just leaving. She had screwed up, he was moving away. She had lost her chance at actually becoming social with someone other than a maniac named Prelude.
Well, she might as well and try to repair what she botched up. She glanced over at Taiat, sighing gently. "You did not make me uncomfortable, I was merely surprised. I am not used to others even stepping a foot near me, nor even someone trying to cheer me up. If you wish, I can go. I did not mean to upset you, honestly I... did not mind actually." Oh, what was she saying? Someone smite her down now, she was going soft! She blamed Prelude. She always blamed that brat.
"Though, I do not wish to go." She added hopefully, hoping he would return. The Deava realized how desperate she must sound, grumbling under her breath. Oh, really now, what was happening? When did she actually wish for someone to be social with her? Taiat would be the end of her.

Taiat was sat up and leaned back when Harvest had yelled at him. He didn't think she was old at all. The 'miss' was just a habit. His ears perked forward when she mentioned that he hadn't made her uncomfortable. Then she offered to leave and Taiat could remain silent no longer. What NO!?! You didn't upset me at all Mis... Harvest. I thought I did something that offended you! I told you before that I am horrible at dealing with other foxes. I was worried that I crossed a line. You didn't do anything wrong at all. Taiat had been up on his hind legs making gestures since he was so flustered. He fell back into the spring. Quickly he rolled in the water and popped his head above the water so he could breathe. He was soaking wet and spite out the water that he got in his mouth. I'm rambling aren't I? Taiat rubbed his nose with his paw.

Harvest watched Taiat spazz out, barely able to contain the giggle in her throat. What fox stood on their hind legs? It really didn't match his previous personalty, sending her into a fit of suppressed giggles. "Carefully to not harm yourself." She warned, giggling once more.

I won't. For some reason Taiat felt all out of shorts when he had seen Harvest so upset. He stopped flailing around though. He had already embarrassed himself with that kind of outburst. A well.. At least Harvest isn't laughing at me.. she is only giggling. He liked hearing her giggle. It was a pleasing sound.

Harvest shook her head, raising from the water and shaking herself off as she padded to collect the stone. Her flames burst outwards, casting shadows on the walls. The deava slipped the stone back into it's slot in her back, stretching herself out and glancing over at Taiat. She should be off soon, continue her search. Though, she was hungry, and maybe so was Taiat?
"I will be heading off soon, but would you like to go hunting with me?"
