He shook his head and tried to focus, though his attention drifted in and out. He still caught the gist of her words, and only took one of her paws and gave it a gentle squeeze. "No..you couldn't have hurt anything. It wouldn't make sense. You probably just overworked yourself." he said more so trying to convince himself than anything else
But there was still a matter of concern at hand. She couldn't stay here. Risking the walk was dangerous, but staying on the beach with an alleged monster on the way, was just too much for him. "Koyuki...I'm going to have Samus take you back home. She may be new, but she's trust worthy. I have to stay here and finish the mission, but I will come to you as soon as I finish." He didn't like knowing he would leave without her, that and in the hands of a stranger, but it had to be done.
"Will you go?"

"Jerome...." Koyuki stopped, she was about to mention the fact her walking down the hall was dangerous with her last pregnancy; so certainly dashing at speeds her body wasn't used to and running through the woods at a frantic pace certainly wasn't good this time around either....but it seemed her beloved was having a hard enough time as is without her adding more worry into his plate. It would just be something she'd need to keep on top of for the time being, as she gave a grateful smile at his touch.
"Wait what!" Looking up her face brimmed with worry, as much as she already knew the dangers....she really just didn't want to be without him; especially with how chaotic it was last time. Jerome had been a godsend that he'd decided to stay with her to help her 24/7. Looking down to the ground, each notion pained her more than the next; either stay and risk both Jerome and the unborn kits or go and risk the possibilities of the pregnancy going wrong alone.
Already feeling the tears brimming the corners of her eyes, the geisha closed them quickly to avoid them falling and nodded her head slowly. "Y-yes. I will.....I don't have much of a choice."

He nodded and a grin came over his face. "Good then. Come with me." he said as he took her paw and gently lead her back out the tent, where he still saw the blond headed vixen staring out to sea.
Not questioning, she let go of Koyuki's hand and retrieved his helmet. "Samus..it's agreed. My wife can't stay here for the time being, and I can't leave without completing my mission. You have to take her home for me." he explained as he wanted to scowl and grit his own teeth for even saying something like that. He barely knew this person, yet he was willing to trust her with his mates life and now future kids...what circumstances
Suddenly seeing the two appear, she turned her head to look over, seeing the male pick up his helmet and look directly at her. Already she didn't like where this was going, no....not at all. But the words that came to follow all but struck her dumbfounded. "WHAT!? You can't be serious...I...I..." she faltered and tried to think of a viable argument, failing miserable and only shutting her mouth looking flustered

Trying her best to smile, Koyuki would only feel the weight return to her shoulders once more as she followed along diligently. Ears plastered to her skull, her eyes followed the ground they walked on before rising to meet the face of Samus. Of course, as she suspected the idea of escorting a stranger back to her house didn't bode well with the female, nor did she really expect it.
What a burden you are already... The Geisha thought, before speaking up with a desperate notion after it was clear it wasn't something Samus really wanted. Besides, she was here to kill that creature, not get stuck watching over her.
"N-no Jerome! Its not right to ask her like this....she has a job to do too! Maybe....maybe I can get a hold of Nariko, she can dome get me; I'm sure she can make it before the weekend! If not then i'll meet her half way....we'll figure something out." She stammered, her own face bright red from her embarrassment about the whole situation.

"Samus, I know it's a burden but, you are the only one here. If the monster comes along then I can hold it off." he said, hoping the ultimatum would work.
Jerome turned to look at Koyuki, who already was looking for another way. "I know it's not our best choice. But how on earth would we call Nariko? I don't have a phone." he argued as he turned back to the perplexed blond.
She looked to the ocean. All those people...it would be hard to pass up, but she had never felt so needed before. It was new to her, so she put her stoic face back on and nodded. "I guess I can give it a try" she said as she looked to the other vixen, not at all giving an encouraging smile

Lowering her head in a sign of defeat, she knew it would be more problems than it was worth to try and get word to Nariko about the situation. Closing her eyes for a moment as her stomach gave another painful churn, her paws moved to her abdomen to rest there as they were covered by the long hem's of her kimono sleeves.
Once the pain subsided, she looked to Samus and immediately shifted her eyes; unable to make contact. The stoic looks of these vast intergalactic warriors always put her at an unease; that she was just so unworthy of being in there presence let alone relying on them for something so crucial.
Sliding a glance up to the serious look of her mate, a gentle sigh escaped her lips as it was all out of her paws now. He did know better, and if this monster was as deadly as they both made it out to be....he couldn't be worrying about her now could he? Koyuki knew from the very start on the balcony, she had good reason to trust him; she'd seen it in his eyes on that day....and could still see that comfort to this very day.

"Good. Then you'd both best get going. Samus if you just follow this path, it should almost lead you straight to her home." he said, soon glancing to the now defeated Koyuki, who all he could do was put a smile on his face, taking her chin with a paw and lifting it up to meet his face. "You be careful ok? I'll come back as soon as the weekend is over" he spoke softly giving her a small kiss on the lips before putting that ever famous helmet on. "Today is Friday. Many will start flocking to this point, so it's best if you guys get going now." he explained as he almost wished he could grab his shotgun and hold it at the ready, but that couldn't happen.
She nodded and looked to Koyuki, soon striding up the ledge and taking a few steps to the path, waiting patiently for them to be finished with their moment. So this is romance? I never would have thought something so complex would drive him to risk his life for her safety....so many new things I just don't understand she thought to herself as she tried to patiently wait for Koyuki to start walking

Lost in her own thoughts for the time being, it wasn't until she felt the paw on her chin that she snapped out of it. Looking up to him as her chin was lifted, she couldn't help but smile sweetly, tail giving a short lived sway. "I will...Jerome. Make sure you do too...I can't do this alone..." Koyuki gripped her still flat tummy as she watched his face dissapear behind the famous helmet, only seeing the reflection of her own tired and almost scared looking face.
However, this was not how she wanted to be; and immediately found herself smiling warmly in a fashion she known for. Reaching out to his paw, she held it for a moment before dropping her own voice. "I love you..." She breathed, before slipping her paw out of his and following Samus to the trail; bracing herself for the trip at hand. "Lets go..." Koyuki smiled to the vixen and walked ahead at the swiftest, but easiest pace she could muster.

He smiled behind his helmet as he gave a gently squeeze to her paw before feeling it disappear from his grasp. He watched as the two soon faded into the darkness of the forest, and even still he stood, watching as if expecting Koyuki to run out of the forest and say she was joking. However that didn't happen and he turned to face the ocean, looking to the now darkening sky. "I don't think I can be a father again" he mumbled to himself as he let the rest of the information sink in
Starting to walk, she strode next to Koyuki, feeling she had a sense of purpose, but one different than normal. She tried to look ahead and focus on keeping the form, and also focused on her surroundings, including the scents she was receiving from the vixen. It was apparent she would soon be forced to reveal a truer form, as by each passing moments her senses became more attuned than any normal foxes would have. Still she tried to look like nothing bothered her, however, she was no stranger to what was really happening. "So...pregnant?" she finally asked

The past was quiet, looking around the forest she'd passed but hours ago it was a bit strange that nothing seemed to be out and about. The echo of their own footsteps kept her mind occupied as she summoned all her strength not to run back to him, and to keep down the contents of her stomach. Looking ahead as Samus seemed to do, it wasn't until her voice finally popped up that Koyuki looked over to her.
Not that it wasn't shocking that she'd figured it out, but perhaps a little more tact would have been nice. "Ah...Yes." Koyuki spoke gently, her ears folding back out of a nervous habit. "Sorry about earlier....its still overwhelming the second time around."
"All this talk of monsters and battles are still so over my head, coming from such a quiet, uneventful life." Reaching a paw up to scratch at her head before tucking away a loose strand or two, she found herself with her eyes still on the vixen. "Do you have children...?"

Walking along, the vixen seemed to be slightly taken by her question. Nothing drastic, but it was more so the feeling of embarrassment for Koyuki that seemed to n** at her heels.
"Second?...hmm" she said out loud, looking down to the trail. She didn't really think it was something she wanted to know about, but even as she tried to forget, another topic came up that had her thinking. "Kids?" she said as she looked ahead, eyes still stoic, though a bit surprised. She had to think, did she ever create anything other than the obvious? No..."None" she finally replied, not daring to let her eyes catch the other.
All of this talk, all of this stuff, it made her question her own actions, what she did, and why she did it. She had gone years killing without reason, or evolving to fight a hated foe, but never did she grow a concsious or soul. It was starting to occur to her that she did have emotions, and they were starting to grow, of course, she couldn't blame the other vixen if she were to run screaming when this meager form fell. But how could she remain with purpose if she did change.

"Yes...Second." Koyuki smiled softly mostly to herself, remembering Nariko and Bryyo as small....well, relatively small kits for Spartans anyways. It was a shame the two couldn't see eye to eye on most everything, but she assumed with their backgrounds and chosen paths it might have been for the best; last thing she needed was her kids going at each others throats day and night.
Shifting her eyes forward, she let out a small chuckle and continued on; the trail relatively easy despite that lightness returning to her head. "Ah, well i'm sure if its meant to be then it'll happen someday. I'm sure you have enough on your plate with all the bounty hunting; must take you to crazy far off places..." Much like Jerome, leaving to go where he was needed most even though it was usually far away from her.
As she began to slow, the vixen stopped for a few moments and put a paw on a nearby tree; allowing her body to settle. "Sorry Samus....I just need a moment or two."

She couldn't even imagine what the process of childbirth was like. She had the fortunate enough to have created through indirect ways. Most importantly, less important ones. "Well I suppose...Congratulations?" she said hesitantly. She wasn't at all sure if that's what people said or if it was even used in the right context.
The crazy promise of the vixen's words were none at all comforting. She knew there was no way there would be a mini version of herself walking around. The Metroids were as close as she would ever get to children...and even then, she was far from them now.
She stopped to realize Koyuki wasn't following her anymore. She turned and to see the vixen leaning against a tree. "Hmmm....this is taking too long." She groaned. She still wanted to make it back to the beach before the weekend. Otherwise it was back to scavenging for seafood again. "Well we could move faster" she mumbled outloud putting a paw over her delicate chin

Rubbing her temples in hopes to ease the throbbing in her head, the vixen looked over to Samus and smiled. "Ah...Thank you." Congratulations....oddly it was something she'd only heard once or twice for the last pregnancy, too scared and overwhelmed by the drastic changes to her life and body to really focus on the joy it brought her now. She knew it would be different this time, she would be ready, knowledgeable, and prepared for these twins.
Once she'd spoken up again, Koyuki folded her ears back and gave a sheepish smile. "Sorry..." She muttered, before continuing as she caught the vixen's own mumble. "Faster? I don't think I should go much faster than this; the suit already made me feel this way even if its magical.....the strain on this body regardless would be too much." Even though with the aid of magic, her body still would be exerting beyond the normal limits....and now....she definitely wasn't going to risk it. "Its still a ways, and I couldn't ask you to carry me like Jerome does..." Not that Koyuki was implying she wasn't strong enough since well, who knew right - but escorting was already asking too much as is.

Looking over she shook her head. "No..I would expect you not to move faster, but rather myself." she said mostly talking to herself out loud again. She looked to the vixen wondering if she would be keen to the idea she was about to propose.
"Koyuki...Listen...I'm not who you think I am...but there's an advantage to this...I can get us both to your house in a few hours, with little trouble on your part.....but...well it's a bit of a shocker.." she stuttered as she continued to rub her chin, thinking maybe this was not a good idea, but she couldn't keep the form for long anyway, so nothing ventured nothing gained
