Hmm she would have to go taunting Rams now probably. Well its not like mating season was coming up soon. Besides once you knew how to dodge them Rams weren’t that dangerous. They tended to like full on charges and as long as you stayed clear of the horns… Aylin took a deep breath and shifted to the more current topic. Where hadn’t she been?
“I guess I haven’t been to the ocean, I lived close but never really had the time to visit. The desert seems a bit too hot to visit now and I live on an icy mountain so I have mountains covered.

Aquila nodded understandingly. "Alright then," he agreed, "to the ocean it is. I must say it's been a while myself... Would you like to go to the beach that you live near? Just so that you aren't walking to far to get back there afterwards, of course." Frankly Aquila was slightly curious to see how and where she lived. He began to lead the way away from the canyon, though he wasn't exactly positive which direction Aylin even lived in, given that she did indeed want to visit that particular beach.

Hmmm a beach close to her home, well she could go back to her old home’s beach but that was at least a three month journey from here. Hmmm she was pretty sure if you bypassed her humongous mountain you might find a beach. She had never been there but she had heard about it and Aylin was good with directions. “Well okay we can go to that beach, but we have to go though a really cold place first. Are you okay with snow and stuff?” she asked. Some foxes crazy enough didn’t like certain places.

"Yeah, I can handle snow," he replied with a smile. "Sounds fun, moving from a hot place to a cold place and back again. Must mess with you a bit internally. But I'm fine with that!" Aquila looked around, wondering where this cold place might be, if it was even visible yet. "I'll just follow you then, shall I?" He added.

“hmmm well it depends on how well you adapt and prepare for the different changing temperatures. You se-” aylin trailed off. Just what she needed was to drive him off with shaman babble. Some times she wished her mother taught her more than how to help foxes. “Alright I’ll lead the way then” She pointed out. However first things first they needed to get out of this canon then she should be able to start towards that ocean.

Aquila chuckled when he noticed Aylin stop herself mid-sentence. "You happen to know quite a bit, dear Aylin," he commented, a fond smile on his lips as he continued to follow her up and out of the canyon. "Please, no need to stop yourself on my account. Your knowledge won't frighten me away, don't worry. But, how is it that you stumbled across all of this knowledge, if you don't mind my asking?"

Well so much for being sneaky. At least, ayiln admitted mostly to herself, Aquila didn’t happen to be one of those guys that didn’t like females to admit to any intelligence. She had met a couple and they always left a bitter taste in her mouth. “Yeah I guess I do know some things, if only really in on area but then everyone has their expertise I suppose.” She replied and looked up at the sky.
“Mom was a shaman and she taught me a lot of stuff when I was little. When she died dad picked up the training or at least he did on good days. Bad days I would go watch and learn things myself” she replied.

Aquila nodded approvingly. "That was good of your mom. Shamans tend to know many important things, and passing as much knowledge onto you... Well, it's clear she raised you well," he said this as less of a compliment than a mere statement of fact. "I wish I had such time with my own sons..." Aquila paused for a long moment, walking beside Aylin in silence as he tried to think back on the entirety of their acquaintance. Had he even mentioned before now the existence of his four children? He wasn't sure he had. Aquila glanced sideways at Aylin, wondering what her reaction might be.

“Well I would assume raising each child is a bit different, and there will always be things you look back and wish you did.” Aylin stated. She didn’t profess to be an expert on what should or should not happen. After all she didn’t have kids herself. Hmmm generally kits meant you had to have a mate, sure it could have been one of those crack breeding things. Then again why would Aquilla be out here making plans with her. If he had a family he would want to get back to it. Perhaps the mating fell through or any various amount of things. She could ask but it wasn’t really her place to but in right? “Well it’s never too late to try and do something” Aylin replied. “Sure it might be hard at first but if its bothering you, you should at least try”

Aquila nodded thoughtfully at her words. "Yes, I'm sure you are right," he said slowly. "But sometimes I feel as though... They really have grown up not needing me. I doubt that I have much to teach them that they don't already know. I mean, Julien and Bordeaux both grew up with their mother, so I don't know much about them now, but Xavier has always been so fiercely independent, and very smart besides. He's always been able to handle himself and I always just... let him. As for Marcus... Well, he's been in a happy, loving, life-mated relationship longer than I have..." Aquila shook his head to clear up his thoughts a bit. "It's strange to think about, is all."
After a few moments of silence as Aquila thought, he glanced back at Aylin and offered her a sheepish grin. "Sorry for leaving all of that on you," he apologized. "Didn't really mean to. I'm not typically the type to just rant about something."

“Well maybe you can improve your relationship through other means; it doesn’t just have to be through teaching them things. It was fun with my mother because she was my friend too and she learned right along side with me. Sure you might not have very much to teach them but you can definitely learn with them and you can be a friend to them. Its never to late for something” Aylin pointed out. “Yes its good they are independent and in good loving relationships but at the same time it doesn’t mean everything is lost. However if you don’t do anything then obviously nothing is going to change. They have to see you want to make an effort again.
“Its okay I’m a shaman so getting ranted at is part of the job description after all everyone needs some one they can share stuff with don’t you think” She stated for once with a regular sized smile on her face. “You probably needed to get all that out, and I was glad to help. I like helping people after all”

Aquila just smiled fondly in response. "This. This is why I keep you around, Aylin," he joked. "Never mind that we only just met, of course." He chuckled softly in response to his own words. "Yes, there's always something that can be done. Probably starting with visiting the grandkits... Although, I'm sure they aren't kits anymore."
At Aylin's later train of thought, Aquila grinned again. "Good thing you have me, then," he said. "I tend to need help more often than most! As you've probably gathered by now, I often find myself in random, difficult situations."

Aylin was torn between blushing because of his comment or nipping at his ear for his comment. She settled with just giving him an unreadable look. After all no one had ever said they wanted to keep her around. Even her tribe she had decided to stay due to them needing help and she was the only shaman. “Like I said, doesn’t matter if they are fully grown as long as you put your all into it” she finally spoke up.
Aylin gave him a bemused look and shook her head. Yeah one would need help after all he had the crazy plan of pissing off a Ram. Of course she wondered if he would actually go through with it. Then again Rutting season wouldn’t be for a while so perhaps he would forget by then?
