Nell's head turned to the door as she heard a tap and then a click of heals down the marble floors. Opening the door, clinging to the towel around her torso, she opened the door and quickly grabbed the folded cloth. "You've go to be kidding me." she thought with a dropped jaw as she stared down at the blue dress. It would be the nicest thing she'd ever worn, but she worried as to how she'd get it on. The search didn't take long to find the zipper, that was actually in front, which she found odd. With her right wing through and her left wing going, Nell slipped her arms into the silk cotton beld and zipped up the dress. Before she left the bathroom she slipped on her sandals and then walked down stairs. It took her a few times, but she finally found Zane sitting down having tea. She was under the impression from before that he was going to talk to her about her jobs, but now she saw him sitting with an extra cup in front of himself and an empty seat. "Oh, pardon me. I wasn't aware you were expecting company. I'll just go, I'm sure I can find something to do, I'm sorry." she said in a stammered voice as she hastened to get away before who ever he was going to be in company with arrived.

"Alright, just be careful with what you say sometimes. And I'm glad you think the food looks good. But I wasn't asking you current thoughts. I meant more like, on this place, my treatment towards you, and me in general. Is there anything I should change? Don't be shy to tell me either, Romona. I've had some pretty interesting requests before." he said honestly. Laying out the sliced pieces of pizza on the center of the table and gestured to the food. After sitting himself down, Terrance watched Romona. "I'd rather have you over some of the drones that I saw in there, so yes. So far, I am."

Zane raised an eyebrow, setting down his instant tea that happened to be in fancy china back on the table. "I believe you are the 'guest' I am awaiting. Sit and eat."
Being a control freak seemed to come naturally, which wasn't the greatest thing. Nell looked sophisticated in the dress, but also uncomfortable, but thankfully it was the right size-or at least the closest to her's. Why would he accept a guest when he had stated before they were going over her job?

"Oh, I'm sorry..." she said as she turned back just as she was about out of the arch way. Trindles of hair fell over her shoulder as she almost constantly smoothed down the dress. Her other dress had been skin tight, but it hadn't been plated, either. "See? This is what I mean by being odd." she slightly mumbled as she sat down, sweeping her hair off her shoulder and smoothing out her dress so it didn't hike up when she sat. Her wings sat over the chair as her bare skin touched the backing of the chair, sending a little shiver down her spine at the sensation. "I've never before worn a dress such as this..." she began saying, so he didn't think that mumble was a curse against him. "And neither have I ever sat at the same table as a master, or been offered tea, or anything really." Her eyes were wide as she looked into his almost red eyes. He was very offering, but very cold as well. What made him that way?

"Well, your treatment is weird, the place is great, and I don't see any reason why you should change. I'm the slave remember. I'm supposed to accommodate you, not the other way around." Chuckling, she grabbed a piece of the pizza, biting it merrily. Since when did people have to change for their toys? If the toys weren't happy, too bad for them, they should have ran when they first saw the guy.
"This really good! But that wasn't very nice to say, some of those guys were really cool! Albeit loud and pesky, they were fun when teasing the guards!"

Taking another sip, he nodded, not really paying attention. His oddities should be please her since he was offering a life of someone of higher status. "You're welcome. But don't get used to it. Unless we have something to discuss, you will be making meals, and eating yours alone when you've finished your work. If the dress is a problem, then you can go to your room and change. I've had various open backed dresses sent there while you were showering to accommodate your tastes. The rest of the clothes you wish to wear will be bought when you feel like going shopping."
Leaving out his irking comment about how he wasn't like her previous masters obviously and he had some class in his opinion, he merely looked Nell over. The dress did seem to expensive for her to sit comfortably, but she wouldn't wear it long anyways.
"Now, we'll begin with your pay. Every two weeks you will be given a maximum of thirty dollars. Should you break something, destroy anything-that includes my reputation- or cause too much trouble for my parents' workers, your pay will be docked, or you won't get paid. If you should exceed expectations, your pay will increase adequately. Now tell me what jobs you've done before."

"You are very set on keeping the title of 'slave' aren't you? You are not considered a slave if you are living with me. This is my house, you are my permanent guest. That makes me the host. The only way you'll be accommodating me is by cleaning and being a friend. Now. How is my 'treatment' weird?" he asked quizzically. He'd heard it from all the others, but there was always something different. He wasn't looking for a mere word to describe how he was, either, he was looking for detail, but he had all the time in the world to hear it from her.

"I am. I've been one for three years now, it's a little heartbreaking to let it go!" Dramatically flipping her hair behind her shoulder, the Sylph's hands clasped over her chest with a-to put it plainly-sad look in her eyes as if it were now a part of her. But it was only for good fun.
"How isn't it weird m'dear? You treat me as if I'm of your class, not to mention I get a lot of freedom and luxuries here. One would think it a trap for you to get something." Her tone was now wary and cautious, all jokes gone and dead serious. She had a couple masters before that spoiled her at first, giving her a little leash. But that was only a step to get what they wanted from her. No way was Mona going to let him treat her so kindly without keeping her guard up.

Nell clasped her hands in her lap and listened patiently as her new master spoke. Not really commenting on anything, just shaking her head and adding a little 'yes sir' in between needed areas. When it was her turn to speak she did so looking at her hands, only once in a while glancing up at her owner. "Well, cooking is what I do best. I can garden, organize, clean, build, install, paint, sleep, drive, shop, decorate, and run." she said honestly. Those were the jobs she'd been made to do in the past, and those where the ones she listed, even the more embarassing ones. She also didn't know where her room was, since he was already talking about her things being sent there, but she'd just find it she guessed.

A little amused by her show, Terrance's eyebrow raised as she flipped her long hair. "Guard all you want. I ask nothing of you that I have not already stated." His tone was matter-of-fact. Picking up a pizza slice and bitting into it. When finishing he got up and walked to the fridge. "Anything to drink would you want?" he asked, knowing he mixed that sentence up a bit.

"Apparently I'll need to teach him how to speak..." Raising an eyebrow to his jumbled question, but replied. "Anything's fine, thanks!" Delightfully going back to the wondrous food she never seemed to be able to eat unless cooking herself with whoever owned her in another room, Romona was in no hurry to finish the meal.
"I will guard what I want though. I've heard that line one too many years." Quite popular among the men, the Sylph grimaced at how many owners she had. Surely, enough to make a record for such a small amount of time. Though she generally lost it, and got rid of the "Masters" and ran. But alas, freedom was hard to hold onto. Silent, her free fist curled, her eyes narrowing. She was losing it, and she knew it was just a matter of time.

He nodded to her list, figuring Nell would be better off as an attendant or secretary for him. "Then you will be my personal cook. And you will aid me in attending to the rose maze and the front garden. though your first task will be to paint the kitchen, since you know how. It is plain white and I am sick of it. As for running errands, you will do that only when I am unable to call for my parents' attendants to do so."
Yes, he had several attendants that worked for his parents specifically but were ordered to manage his own estate. And there was no way he would let her drive one of his cars. Not unless he was too tipsy to stand properly. As for installing and building, there were contractors and delivery men for that. Not to mention, his office-which could be debated to be a deathtrap-was off limits to her organizing. Zane liked his mess as it was, since he knew where everything was. but what was that about sleeping? That didn't mean what he though it did, right?
"Sleeping as in being lazy, or...?"

"Romona?" Terrance asked as he placed a fruit drink in front of her. She seemed to be lost in her own little world. Placing a gentle hand on her shoulder and the other over her clenched fist he called her name again, "What's wrong?" He wondered if it had been the food.

Nell glanced down to the right, away from any accusing eyes. She'd said sleep fast and slurry on purpose, same thing she had for the running. He didn't seem to catch the 'run' part, which was fine, but unfortunately he caught the worst of them all. She didn't answer for a while as her fists clenched in her lap. "The abuse wasn't only in the form of beatings." Yeah, she'd been under the sun on a lot of things. Used as a doll, for humans and for dogs. That's where the run came in. Her masters would have a string around her neck and the other end to a poll, and fly in low circles so she could take their dogs out for a run. Little did she know the first time she did that, they were attack dogs. Thinking of flying, her question came back into her head. "I have a question though. Am I allowed to fly? It would be outside, of course, and if you want I can go like to the woods or something so your other 'attendents' don't get freaked out. I won't run away, its just that stretching doesn't always work." And when stretching does work they start to twitch.. and I really don't want to break your things. But she kept the second part only to her thoughts. Hopefully, for both their sakes, he'd say yes. "I wouldn't run away either, I promise"

Romona kept quiet, flinching at his touch, thankful for the large clothes that covered her. She was becoming sour, and this was the last thing she needed. Lashing out on an owner was meant for after they did something, or tried to do something. "Thanks." Curt and still frowning at past memories, she kept her tone level. The gold on her collar was not a mistake. Anything could set her off. At the moment, her emotions were like a bomb in a birdcage, counting down until it was time.
"Calm down. He has yet to try anything. There's still a chance." She removed her hand from under his, shaking her head. It was nothing he needed to be concerned about now. Not until he brought up the subject, or let his hand slip lower than her shoulder. "Sorry, it's nothing."
