Then I literally could not bring myself to touch it.
It stayed on the floor of my grandma's car until my sister tried to read it.

Electric Emeralds Jakinoro Electric Emeralds I stoped reading at New Moon... I sort of knew how it was going to end, so... and I found the plot boring. :/ Howerver, Jacob is squee-worthy... >.> I watched the movies just so I could see him take his shirt off... Twilight does encourage a lot of negative behavior... I agree with that, and I see it now. I've always called Edward a stalker. 3nodding And I think they're to young to marry, then have a kid so soon. Then Jaboc fell in love with thier child?! That is so freaking... wierd! I'm pretty sick of Twilight.. HOW DARE THEY KEEP MERCHANDISE IN HOT TOPIC?!!? Violate my lair... how could you, you freaking sparley vampires? Now they have... *gasp* JUSTIN BEIBER stuff in hot topic... that is even worse... I hate Justin Beiber to. I'll get Van Helsing and Buffy to kill Edward... and the rest of the Cullens (except maybe Alice...? I like her....) And they keep playing this normal music, pop musc crap... its like a magnet for normal people. Twilight is freaking everywhere... It gave vampires a bad name, and defiled all they stood for, and what they represented. That is just sad. -.- I liked vampires before Twilight... Twilight is also pretty shallow, in the fact it is all about lust, not love. Now, I am spending my time reading The Hunger Games. If you want romance with actual plot, read that. It also has violence, gore, life and death struggle, politics, its science fiction and includes thought and commentary on our world, and much deeper themes than what Twilight has to offer. rolleyes So... Team Peeta or Team Gale? xd I still don't know... And Katniss (main character, heroine) is waaaaay awesomer than Bella! Instead of whining about how suckish her life is, she goes out and does something about it. That is awesome. I'm saying this because I actually think many Twilight fans will like the book. I did too. Twilight vampires disgrace alucard, dracula, and the awesome vampys Yeah... Dracula PWNS all... Could someone please tell me what is the basis for Edward and Bella's relationship, besides physical attraction? :/ Stalking, and blood. thats it

I tried reading Twilight since my closest friend kept telling me how good it was.
Being honest I didn't find it interesting until the last few pages of the book where the was actually some action in it.
I did try to read New Moon afterwards, I got about half way through the book and just got bored of it, and stopped reading it.
Anyone notice the plot-hole in the series?
I think it's Rosalie that is unable to have children because she's a Vampire, but then at the end of the series after Bella gets turned into a Vampire, she and Edward are magically able to concieve!
I never read Breaking Dwan, but as far as my knowledge goes, it never gets explained as to how they're actually able to concieve a child.
That's a WTF moment right there.
I could go into a massive Twilight rant as well, but for now, I think we're better off letting it die.

Old thread is old, but I never saw the whole point to this debate really. I mean, everyone has an opinion, and whether they think something is good or not is their opinion. Some people like Twilight and some don't, it's like everything else in the world. You may not agree on it, but you deal with it and go on with your life. I kinda dread the new movie coming out this year... it will start all of this all over again. ._.

I tried to read Twilight. I really did. After the fourth page I was ready to chuck it out the window - only it was a library copy.
I tried to watch the movie, too. I wanted to SCREAM, it was so boring, and I wished that Braindead Bella _had_ been crushed by that van... that's where I turned the DVD off, I couldn't take how annoying everyone was.
I have an otherwise intelligent and rational friend who loves this series... she was the one who explained it to me after I told her I couldn't get through it. I found it sad that she thinks being a doormat to an emotionally abusive ***** is romantic....

HEY, Its better then the book.
Yet "twilight" encourages old ***** to stalk young girls, "new moon" encourages rape, and yet more stalking. It also encourages girls to commit suicide when their man runs off. i never read "eclipse" so i cannot say what it encourages that is rather perverted and disgusting, "breaking dawn" encourages early marriage and teenage pregnancy.
My theory of why people pretend they are supernatural is because they want a place in society where they can feel "special". People who drink blood need to see a counselor, and if they cant, I would recommend locking them in a padded cell.
Oh and TWILIGHT WAS REJECTED 14 TIMES BEFORE IT WAS PUBLISHED!

Ok, so I realized that everyone that loves the Twilight series loves the series because of the actors in it. Apparently due to my research if Edward was replaced with Brendon Fraser and if Jacob was replaced with Bruce Willis people would actually say "WTF is this s--t?". I even told one of my cousins what the plot of Twilight was and all she said was "Romance" and that's it. Sadly I really hate to disappoint her but, Romance is not a plot, it's a type of genre.
Ok moving on to the point, as I heard from Twilight is about a whiny girl who meets someone who wants to kill her when they first met then they suddenly become in love after a few minutes and then Edward stalks her and isolates her from her friends.
(I find it hard to believe people find this romantic... )
And Edward is supposedly the most "perfect" character in the series even though he is a sexist and abusive to her and then he leaves her and then Bella tries to commit suicide every time Edward is not with her.

Because if thats "romance", then ***** must be popular. wanting to be a "vampire" is a sick desire.
Robert patterson isnt hot whatsoever. They couldve at least chose someone hotter. Plus, the story line is i mean, "okay" but the books were better. in the movie, its just like over dramatic.
If they had let Tylers Van squash her, then it would have been nice. Or if she had been impaled on one of the rocks in the water when she jumped off the cliff, that would have been nice also, because we would have been able to watch sparklepire "edward" suffer.
Ok, now for the whole thing with whether or not vampires do not sparkle, Yes vampires are fictional things. As a matter of fact pretty much everyone who writes about vampires has their own rendition about how powers work so I will admit that "Vampires don't sparkle" is not a viable argument.
Now on that note vampires "Shouldn't" sparkle. now I say shouldn't because.... well.... ok I'm going to have to summarize it down for you before I go into a rant for people who simply can't read more than 5 sentences.
Summery
Stephanie Myer's version of the vampire is simply poor and uninteresting character design. The lack of negative consequences and the sparkly gimmick is.... transparent
What made the classical version of the vampire interesting was because of the fact that the creature itself was thought to be a nearly invincible creature, a monster that prayed on people in the night. They were feared and hated, but to live as one was a fate worse than death. Living in a personal hell, you retained all of your humanity you had in life but you had to bear with the horrible hunger that could only be satisfied with human blood. You had to loose all that you once held close to in life and forever live on the fringe of society as a scavenger. It was interesting because something so horrifying and impossible to escape was also so tragic and sad, A reminder of our own lack of restraint and our own weaknesses, that no matter how strong and intelligent we are we are bound to our bodies. That's what made the vampire terrifying. The twilight vampire is a vampire for people who don't like vampires. It takes all the things that make vampires horrifying and replaces them with... glitter. It pretty much makes vampires into glittery things with superhuman strength. They're turned from the horrifying yet tortured creatures from before and turned to...... a teenaged girls wet dream. Pretty much it's taken out the Bite from vampires..... I guess the pun was intended but yah... I officially love you! I f**king hate Twilight...but everyone else I know for the most part LOVES it...seriously I wanna scream....no where does it describe actual love...its freaking obsession...and unhealthy obsession as that. Meyer is a freaking Mary-sue ignorant writer wannabe...I've read fanfiction better than Twilight..../rant *breathes*
