Bare, broken wires sparked in Newton's wake and lights died as P2 passed; in the surveillance room, screens cut out one by one, making the security guard who had only a minute ago been dozing in the chair blink. "James to all. Something's cutting cameras on the third floor."

Hayes shot Sam an appreciative grin as he passed her in the hall. Nice job. He motioned to the door and drew a line at neck level - get rid of whoever's in there. His Pikachu waited near the door, staring down the corridor with ears up.

"Rusty!" the guard called as the Growlithe fell back, soaked to the skin by the powerful jet of water. It also turned the floor into a slick mess. He hastened his pace across the room; a hand went to his gun as a female voice crackled from the speaker. "Lynette to Mark and Pat. That wasn't me. We've got an intruder."

Nadja's Dusknoir rose up through the landing of the stairs, hands up in a 'don't pass' gesture. Its body was still phased out, but there was just enough of it visible to illuminate thin red lines feeding across the first step at ankle, waist and head height. Motion detectors. The elite's eyes narrowed. They could use the security system offline now. She motioned to the wall, and the Dusknoir drifted that way. There was a click from the baseboard and the beams faded.

The ghost type drifted backwards to the second floor, pausing every fifth step to take more detectors out.

"Ow, what-" Pat's only warning was a slight electric shock before a Pichu planted a stunner of a kiss right on him. "Fwuh-" He started through numb lips, and then something punched him in the back of the head. Dazed, he twitched his head from side to side, slow and stiff.. and before something blasted him to the floor and he was out for good.

Before entering the building, Mau let Aki out of his pokeball. With a gesture to his shoulder, Mau preempted the playful pokemon's attempt to get a belly rub. This was work time. Mau crouched and the vaporeon leaped up onto his shoulders. It was in this way the pair descended. Ran stayed on the roof, hunkered down, and ready to make an escape if need be.

With the guard passing, He slipped into the shadows with the rest of the group. He was impressed with Nyx jumping to action to take out the growlith. With the water on the floor, Aki jumped into the puddle, allowing his body to become water itself.* Using the puddle, Aki would be able to move more or less unnoticed. This just left the guard heading to the nearest phone. Mau stalked up behind him. In a quick motion, he grabbed the guard- one hand over the his mouth- and slammed his head to the ground. He'd be fine when he wakes up, though he'd have one hell of a headache. Mau looked up and over to the stairs as he saw the dusknoir. Mau drug the guard out of the middle of the floor and propped him against the wall. With a barely audible hiss, Mau jerked his head towards the stairs. Aki's head materialized in the water long enough to see the gesture before vanishing back into the puddle. It took some doing, but with a slow, controlled dribble of water, the vaporeon moved to the stairs and began to drip down along the polished surface down to the second floor.

Lynette had spoken up. They were well aware of foul-play. But the sleeping "blood"-soaked man would surely throw them for a loop upon discovery. They were already in discord as it was, and the heightened alert, Aila decided, was a small price to pay to have them all jumping at their shadows.

The girl compacted her body to fit into the corner where the ceiling met the wall and inched closer to the room that housed the Blue Orb's exhibit. She reached forth into her pocket and drew out a button she had found discarded on the street on her way to the museum earlier in the day. She took careful aim, tested her arm, and tossed it into the room where it clattered to the floor with a small noise. The guards didn't seem to take much notice. She mimicked the procedure with the next item - a pen cap. It had been lightly chewed before being separated from its own, and Aila was thoroughly relieved to have it leave her hand. One of the guards inclined his head to a side.

"Did you hear something just now? I could have sworn..."

A bottle cap was next, sent sailing with just enough force that it found its destination near the foot of the suspicious guard. The metallic tinkling startled the room's occupants, and heads darted back and forth to find the cause. Aila took advantage of their distraction and, whispering a command into the pokeball to be executed upon release, planted Fleur directly into the chamber. The guards, confused and perhaps even mildly frightened, scarcely had time to react before the Sleep Powder billowed out of the Bulbasaur's green bulb.

Aila dropped from her perch and advanced into the room, her eyes locked on the glittering sphere inside its glass case. No need for subtly at this point, she decided. It was time to seize her prize and run.

Again, Sam nodded. She snapped her fingers, twice. Gespenst rematerialized, eyes wide. There was more for him to do? He liked that. Taking out stationary cameras, while fun, wasn't much of a challenge.

Sam pointed to the door, then pillowed her hands under her head. The instructions were clear to him, phase through the door, then use hypnotize on anybody in the room. The gengar bobbed and disappeared through the door. After a count of five, long enough for Gespenst to do his thing, Sam shouldered in the door, Teru blazing inside, ready to throw herself on anyone still standing. Her trainer was likewise prepared to do the same.

Relieved that no guards came running after the triple attack, Leonard found himself smiling a bit as he approached the guard's body. Then his smile quickly faded as he heard what his radio said.

Damn, someone got spotted already? Kunai and her Mewtwo better hurry up with their camera work. As with the other groups, though he had no idea what they were up to now. Or which one was the one that was caught.

He pressed the button on the radio and spoke into it. "Pat to Mark and Lynette. I'm checking it out right now."

At least, he assumed the guard was Pat. That's what it said on his nametag. Leonard hoped that his false message would keep the guards away from this area for a while. He turned to Kunai and waved the radio, asking if there's anything else they should do with the body.

Cal gave a silent sigh of relief. She hadn't screwed anything up. They were safe, at least that's what she thought until the radio blared, making he tense slightly. Where they discovered already?

She waved Skye back with a gentle, gloved hand and when he returned to her side, she pointed firmly to the ground as to say, 'Stay here and stick by my side.'

When Leonard replied back on the radio as Pat, she bit her lip. Hard. Oh Arecus, what if she's not convinced? Way to be optimistic. And what were they to do with the guard's body? She put on a brave front and awaited her orders from Kunai.

Unseen under the hood, Nadja's brows raised a fraction at Mau's way of dealing with the guard. Hm. But that was it; she nodded once to Mau and Nyx as if to say 'good,' then slipped toward the stairs, as quietly and as quickly as she could.

The Dusknoir - never a very fast Pokemon under normal circumstances - was outpaced by the puddle of water type as she worked on the detectors. As the last one on the stairs clicked off, she went chasing after Aki with a certain urgency - if he wasn't careful, he'd trip the detectors on the doorways to the gallery where the orb was kept. There were both vertical and horizontal beams there - Aila had slipped past due to her small body size.

The surveillance room door bumped up against the prone body of a guard, purple from asphyxiation. A grid of monitors took up the left wall. Several were already dark, but one with '2F - CENTRAL GALLERY' watermarked in the corner showed.. two downed guards and a slight figure, striding toward the orb. That didn't look like one of theirs. In fact..

There was a pause, and then a female voice - Lynette's - came over Leonard's radio. "Lynette to Pat. What's your birthday?"

When the Mewtwo had finished its job with the cameras, it allow itself to float back down to the ground, using its psychic power to carry its physical body down to the ground. With cat-like grace, its feet touched the ground. Its green eyes glanced to the guard as he got taken down.

Kunai watched without a hint of emotion, and when the man was clearly unconscious, her piercing green eyes shot to her only Pokemon. She signaled with one hand as if she was pushing something towards the wall.

The Pokemon's eyes glowed blue for a moment, surrounding poor Pat with a blue aura, and within a few moments, the body seemed to drag itself across the ground and sat itself upright. When the Mewtwo's eyes stopped glowing, the blue aura around the man faded.

Kunai then shot a pretty intense glare at Leonard as he picked up the radio. There had been no order nor any signal for him to do such a thing. She was going to note this on his file when they got back to HQ. She straightened up, and soon enough the Elite was heading towards the landing of the stairs. She signaled for them to follow her, but the moment she was next to the stairs, she sharply jut her hand back to let them know HAULT.

The Mewtwo trailed towards the end again, and for any Grunt that might have felt cocky and attempted to make it past the stairs, they would have felt a sudden force holding them back.

The Elite pulled out a compact really quickly from her pouch, and blew up a small puff of powder towards the edges of the case. For a brief moment, a hint of the red lazers could be seen as the dust from the compact flew. As the dust settled, the lazer sent invisible again.

As I thought.

Turning towards the Grunt who already had his ghost types out, Kunai whispered out harshly "Use your ghosts to disable the motion sensors."

One would almost think that using the word "please" would cause Kunai to burst out in flames or something. It was then that the radio blurted out a response to Leonard's bold proclamation.

Take the radio

The Mewtwo's eyes glowed blue, as a small aura surrounded the radio that began to try and pull from Leonard's hands.

Leonard did a mental facepalm as the female voice asked for the man's birthday. Of course he had to do things without thinking things through...

He hurried as fast as he can as he searched through his pockets. He must have some kind of identification around. Okay, here was a wallet. He opened it and the first thing he saw was a driver's license. That was lucky. He read the birth date on the license into the radio, trying to hide the shakiness in his voice.

And then the Mewtwo was trying to pull the radio from his hands. Leonard let him have it. There was no point in fighting when Kunai was obviously pissed at what he done already.

Cal hurried behind Kunai towards the stairs as the radio called out once more. What was he thinking? He didn't have a clue when the guy's birthday was. He searched the body as fast as he could and, to her surprise, he had found a driver's licence.

But Cal hadn't been paying attention to what she was doing and was soon pulled back with the Mewtwo's psychic energy. She watched as the Elite take out her compact and check for hidden sensors. Good call. But you couldn't expect less form an elite.

The radio was taken away from the grunt by the Mewtwo,to Cal's relief. That could've gotten even messier.

"Uhh.." Sam fumbled, finally forcing the door completely open and mentally apologizing for tromping all over the unconscious guard. (Sure, he was the enemy, but that didn't mean he didn't deserve a modicum of respect.) "We have a problem," she hissed in a fierce whisper, motioning wildly back towards Nikki and Hayes. "Someone is jacking our orb!"

She slid the guard out of the way so her companions could see for themselves.

Kunai never liked to repeat herself. So when she had to repeat her command, even the whisper sounded absolutely harsh.

"Use your ghost to disable the motion sensors."

With the radio at hand, the Mewtwo began to walk back towards the unconscious body against the wall. Even though there was more distance between trainer and Pokemon, it could still easily hear its commands as well.

Wait there for now, and if there are anymore questions, you puppet the guard to say your responses.

Motion what? He turned towards Kunai and... Oh. Those motion sensors. Well of course they won't get anywhere if those weren't disabled. Trying to ignore the blistering glare the Elite was giving him right now, he called his Pokemon over and pointed. He couldn't see where the lasers were, he hoped that they had better luck at it.

Seance and Weatherby floated over, taking note of the sensor components in the wall. One by one they destroyed them, Seance with her claws and Weatherby with his arms. It took a while, especially to make sure they wouldn't move too fast to trigger any, but they were all disable eventually.

Leonard took pride that there was at least one thing Kunai needed his help for.

Aki, well, the puddle that was the vaporeon, slid easily past the horizontal and vertical sensors, dribbling past easily. The round thing that Mau wanted, or that Mau had been told he wanted, was sitting in this room. YAY! Time to make everyone happy! Aki jumped up out of his puddle, right in front of this strange girl who was also in the room. He didn't notice her at first until his tail brushed her leg.

Spinning around, Aki looked up, blue eyes glittering slightly. IT WAS A PERSON! heart Wait, this was a mission, and this person was not a rocket. She didn't smell like one at least. And wasn't this person too small to be one of the bad guard people? Maybe she'll pet- no no no, this is a mission.

"Veeee...." Aki let out a very low warning growl.

Having followed her group the entire time, Nikki had taken up the rear to cover their backs. Bira still ran close at her heels and she had to pull Bobble away from the fallen guard by one of his strings and tugged him down the corridor with her till they got to the surveillance room. She stayed by the doorway, keeping a look out as the grunt took care of the guard inside.

"What?!" she hissed back as she heard Sam's not so great news that someone else was stealing their orb. Just great.
