DTRICHE & DONYA
Clayton and Ursula

"Ouch." Dtriche grinned a bit at the disappointed look that struck Camillia's features. Sadly, the effect was harmless, and he didn't seem to take the insult much more than allowing a sarcastic laugh to slip his tongue. "You're going to get wrinkles if keep up that sour attitude." He smiled, but felt the necessity to pester her faltering as he glanced back to see Nadine hiding amongst the nearly empty class. Of course there would be more students sure to storm in, but hey, he was glad to have a near-private view of the goddess of a woman. Something about her.... it just set him back. But his flustered boyhood mind was disturbed as Donya snapped her fingers, glaring and talking in her sultry tone as if to bring him back to grips with reality. He didn't take to fondly to that though. Sibling or no, Dtriche enjoyed the sight of that girl, her blond hair, those pale features, and of course, those other-worldly eyes. They struck him. Sure, he was a woman-chaser, he wasn't new to 'getting some' and had a reputation for scandal, but it didn't necessarily forbid him from finding a girl above the rest. Or maybe it was puppy love...

"Dtriche! Listen to me when I'm talking to you!" Donya felt a hiss crawl up in her throat but she used nothing more than a whispered whine, snapped her fingers once more as the effect apparently hadn't fully drawn his attention. That boy was seriously going to get killed when he got home. Donya wouldn't use some dirty violence and soil her hands, but perhaps some sappy texts to every girl at school might teach him a lesson. No one messes with her. No one. Camillia had given her a chuckle almost, but it didn't last long. The way Dtriche was staring off was clearly beyond pathetic. She hated how smug he could seem some times. When he finally looked to her she smiled, proud to have come out victorious. He should know not to play with women, no matter how little of a threat they were, that was her job, and from that, she would have the boys, and he who ever he wanted, that she didn't really care for. Let him drown, so long as she got what she wanted.

"Now. I was asking if you had anyone in mind to go with tonight to Ethans?" Donya's hand stretched along the desk before coming to gather her face within the palm with a sigh. Dtriche, fumbling a grin nodded. "Oh, don't I always?" Donnie, retorting with a heaved sigh shook her head and glanced back, spying Dell in the distance. She passed him a quick look, sending of some sly smile and what one might swear to be a wink before turning back to face her brother.

"You always have someone in mind, but are you going to ask her precisely, or just ask someone who's sure to say yes?" Donnie let out with a mocking chime of a sweet giddish laughter, which might only be repulsive to those within a very close ear shot, and only so if they knew the reasoning. Of course the two were quiet, not at all obnoxious with their chatter, it was as though they were constantly exchanging secrets, leaving everyone out of their loop. But they had wondrous surprises. Dtriche was in truth a charmer, other wise fancying girls would be difficult, and Donnie, she wasn't at all short on looks and had some strange personality, the both of them could often leave others clueless.

Dtiche obviously hadn't thought her joke very funny, he quickly pulled out his phone, punched in some digits and ignored Donya for about five minutes while he pursued other chat. She, in response, tucked herself into her seat and smiled devilishly ahead. Within minutes, Dtriche's had nearly sent his text. Donnie, following the same impulse, quickly sought through her phone book.

Nadine--
Good morning. (;
xxxxxxx--Dtriche

Xerxes--
Hey, are you coming to school today?
xxxxxxx--Donnie

"I will. Was that an offer of assistance?" Dtriche grinned, hopefully his sister hadn't any mind to cripple a man for his sake, highly unlikely, but not completely drawn out. He wanted to keep his name if anything and least know he had a heart somewhere underneath all his skin. Even if it was covered in sinful thoughts. "I'll help you. Like I always do. What kind of sister would I be if I wasn't?" With an exchanged smile the two seemed to pluck out their conversation in sight for other more placid conversations. Dtriche stuck to his chair, tucking his phone into his pocket nonchalantly and Donnie merely looked around, glancing over everyone within her sights with a speculating eye.

Nadine tried not to pay attention to what was going around her in the class. She tried to keep her attention away from the surrounding conversations about the dance and the party and just continued her doodling. When the teacher came in, she was still continuing on with her crazy doodles, going all over the page to a point that she was going to have to take it to the next. Soon enough, Dell walked in late, deciding to come towards the back. The blonde haired girl couldn't help acknowledge his presence and glance up to catch a glimpse at his pretty face. When she saw him and his sitting position, her lips curled slightly with annoyance. Why oh why do I find that guy so hot yet so ..ugh.. She thought to herself in disbelief. Nevertheless, her heart raced a little and she looked down back to her notes.

Brrr brrr brrr. Brrr brrr brrr. Nadine jumped ever subtle in her seat as she felt the vibration in her pocket. Wearing a confused look, she pulled out her cell phone, slid it up the top part, and saw that she had one text message. Clicking on the notification, she read the text message that was sent from Camilla. She wasn't sure who the girl was referring to about being noticed. Who would notice her anyway?

She smiled, and looked up to find Camilla who she knew was in her class. She hadn't noticed where she was sitting, so she looked around until she found her, being stared at Dtriche. Poor thing... that must be unsettling. She thought to herself. Being stared at by Dtriche would give you goosebumps, not the good kind. The way he looked at you was really uncomfortable. His personality was such a turn off, which made his decent looks seem more villainous.

Nadine proceeded to reply back to Camilla, glad that she was all the way in the back, so the teacher won't say. She wouldn't have to worry about anyone ratting her out either, since who didn't text each other in this era. She kept her phone under the desk just in case, pressing on the buttons with speed that made her fingers blur in sight.

To: Cam
From: Nad
"Who's going to notice!? omg, don't even get me started on V-day. It's such a stupid idea.
Cupid needs to get shot in the a**. But ye, we should. Who needs boys?
Man, if that guy stares at you any longer, his eyes are going to pop out. Eegh."

Nadine pressed on 'send' and she slipped her cell phone back into her pocket. She realized she missed a good lot of what the teacher was saying, and tried to figure it out from what was on the board and what she was saying now. She was utterly confused and was quite glad when the phone vibrated again. She had assumed Camilla replied back, but it was a little too soon. When she pulled her phone out again, she had noticed that it was a text from Dtriche. Oh boy. She glanced up at him but quickly looked away. No, don't look! You might encourage him. Ahh now I have to reply as he would know I am ignoring him if I don't reply and he would bother me more. She sighed and pressed a bunch of keys.

To: Dtriche
From: Nad
"Morning."

The girl had hesitated to press send and she was quite speculative if she should say more, or something else, or nothing at all. Why couldn't she ignore him? No, she just had to be nice and be all OCD in replying back to every message she would get. So reluctantly she pressed send and slid down her cell phone top with a snap. Just the one guy she didn't really want attention from, had to be the one paying attention.

Carlos' thoughts floated back to the past week for a minute, having ultimately given up on his silent strategy meeting against the injustice of his parents' early morning rant. When he thought about it, there was really no one he really knew there save for the very few he opted to keep in memory. For example, there was that one chick from before that he had in one of his classes...What was her name again? He was fairly sure that her name started with a D. Diana? Delilah? Whatever it was, he would have to keep an ear out for it. It was a much more difficult to flirt without a proper name. Maybe if she was one of those intelligent type, he might be able to catch it when the teacher called on her. Of course, if it was that easy, then there was no fun in the challenge of trying to figure it out for himself. Heck, why just settle with charming one lovely lady? When he watched the others that entered the room, he made multiple notes that there were a number of fine-looking females present. There was one who was without a doubt, meek and interested in very few others than the boy she was talking with. Might as well skip over that. Scanning over a bit more, he did find someone that he was indeed familiar with. Mainly this was because she had caught his eye on his first day there, as did the one with the name that started with a D. It made it a bit easier to remember someone named Remember after all. Carlos cracked a grin. Ha, what a pun. Well, from what he recalled of the girl, at least she was a tad lively. Might as well hang out with her. Everyone else was about as lively as a dead doornail.

He looked around and found that there really was nothing happening at the moment. It made sense though. In Literature, they were suppose to read, but what was the fun in that? Best to find a fellow restless soul to pass the time. Standing up, he made his way over to Ember's desk with the easy air of confidence and charisma that blanketed around him like some sort of invisible cloak. He stood beside her desk with his own book loosely held in his hand, casually grinning at her before he opted to speak.
"You actually plan on reading that, ma chérie? For the entire lesson?" He asked, stealing a temporary seat in a vacant spot beside her, grinning in a friendly manner. The slight term of endearment rolled off of his tongue easily, mainly from the fact it was a language found often in the places he moved around. Taking a look at the teacher, who appeared somewhat annoyed at his sudden actions, he nodded in response and went back to ignoring them. Studying was no fun. Reading was no fun either, when it was forced instead of at leisure. Chatting with this one was by far a much more appealing past time.

Watching Ember curiously, he appeared more than comfortable bothering her for the time being.
"It's boring, but I have a feeling that you are far from it." He leaned closer, elbows resting on her desk. His book was balanced on one of the corners, a finger keeping it in place as he spun the bound groups of words he could not care less about. "So name it, what would you prefer to do right at this moment? Taken into the account the fantastical idea that it could possibly come true if you say the word." Chuckling, Carlos waited for a reply in a surprisingly patient manner. If Ember was interested in his schemes, then perhaps the two of them could add on some fun in Dullsville, Ortega-style no less.

NaTasha angela Hart
Also known as: Tinkerbell
"The Little Pixie"

Tasha wasn’t the best swimmer. She could do the basics; free style and breast stroke but since her lung capacity was low because of her cigarette smoking, she couldn’t hold her breath for too long. Her small body was sinking deeper into the six feet area of the pool; the difficult part of the situation was the little pixie couldn’t tread water. Tasha was beginning to calculate how she would get out of this situation, sink to the bottom and push off, but she was running low on her air. Just then she felt an arm wrap around her tiny waist. Not long was she then pulled to the surface, once they broke through, she coughed out the little bits of water she had managed to breathe in she took a long breath and then took a long breath. She clung on close the boy who had saved her, not really knowing who it was until her finally spoke. Saying she owed him a new t-shirt. She turned her gaze to meet Blake’s, Tasha slightly smiled “Yeah, sure Blake. Why don’t you make me,” teasing him as he brought her to the stairs, probably not the best thing to do at the moment, he did have his arm around her waist.

Reaching the ladder, Ruthie then grabbed Tasha by the elbow and helped her up. Wrapping a towel around her, Tasha took it upon herself to dry off her own hair and cloths. Her curls were no a straight wet mess of puff, great. She sighed at her soaked cloths, at least she had some dry ones back at the car. Today wasn’t going good. Glancing around the room, she found her book bag lying on the side of the pool, dry. Thank god. But then noticing the lump in her pocket, she pulled out her fried cell phone. She groaned as she shoved it back into her packet, there goes fifty dollars to replace it and having to get all the information back on it. Turning back to Ruthie and Blake as they engaged in their conversation, her eyes slightly narrowed. Maybe it was time to go, grasping her book-bag she walked passed the two, “Thanks; I’ll see you guys at the party hopefully,”

The walk back to the car wasn’t enjoyable, with receiving looks from other and how they would talk in whispered as she passed, “Looks like the little pixie fell in the pool,” Arriving at the car, she found Luke and Maggie almost passed out in the back seat. Rolling her eyes, she opened the driver’s door and popped the trunk. Moving back, she searched for some of her backup cloths she kept in the back. Pulling out, tight light blue jeans and a cream and light brown stripped long shirt, then grabbing clean pairs of under garments from a plastic bag, she returned back into the car, “Hey, sleepy heads, get out. I need to change,” Her brother raised and eyebrow about her wet appearance but didn’t say anything of it yet and just grabbed his stuff and took Maggie out of the car with him. Sliding in the back, the blonde pulled off the wet cloths and then replaced them with the dry ones. Looking around the back, she found a pair of her flats and slipped them on. Climbing out and locking the car, Tasha turned and made her way to Pre-Calculus.

That's where I'll be waiting.

Camilla watched under her dark, lush eye lashes , Dell walking in late like usual without a care in the world. She had her eye on him but of course, she had her eyes on a few others. He seemed to just parade around in his own little world, and seemed like no one was bothered. Though her obeservation was shortly interrupted by Dtriche and Donya blabbing away. She knew they were siblings but jeez, she didn't know they were that close. Okay , it wasn't the creepy close but it was still annoying.

Even though they were talking away, Camilla didn't dismiss Dtriche's last comment about her getting wrinkles from her sour attitude. Her eyes were narrowed as she sat there, staring at each word the teacher planted on the board. Though her phone buzzed, and she secretly flipped it open to read her friend's text. She considered Nad to be a sister by now even though she just seemed to realize she was in the same class as she.

Before Camilla replied to Nadine, she noticed how Dtriche was now staring at Nadine. Could that boy keep his eyes to himself or not? Deeply sighing now, she looked over at him with a roll of her eyes in doing so.
"Hey, Dritche. One, you can count me out and also my friend their Nad. Both aren't interested. Move on otherwise you'll miss out on all the good ones." Camilla chuckled before looking over at Donya with a soft smile.
"And good luck helping him." She added before getting comfortable in her seat again. Camilla didn't want to sound rude there. She was just teasing like usual. If anyone really observed her, that was one of the things they wouldn't notice about Camilla. She found enjoyment in others reactions to her teases and liked watching drama from afar . She didn't like drama happening to her of course, who did but still.

She flipped her phone open again, and started to reply to Nadine.

To:Nad
From: Cami
" Ha that's right. Yeah, I'm trying to get him off both our backs. I noticed him staring at you once I gave him the shoulder. Did he text you? Whatever he says, don't give in on being his date to Ethan's party tonight nor to anything else. Aw' right hun?"
She pressed sent and whoosh, off went another text like usual.

Camilla went back to take notes and glancing every so often at the clock. Good, it was almost time to get out of this class. Though, if only it was ten minutes instead of what it was.

"I wish I could see the w o r l d in black and white the way you do."

Chaz bounded up the stairs next to Sabrina, more than happy to just talk. She asked him about practice that morning, and mentioned that she would be there at the meet to cheer him on. Well, the mere fact that she was going to be there made the prospect of the race just that much more exciting. "Yeah, Ethan wants everyone to be on top of their stuff for the meet. But if you're coming, then I'll be sure to do my best! Don't wanna let my best friend down, now do I?" he asked, nudging Bri with his elbow playfully as they neared their classroom. He hoped she was going to the party tonight. He knew she was more quiet than Ethan and most of that crowd, but it wouldn't be as fun without her. And besides, Ethan had said to invite everyone.

Chaz opened the door for her as they reached the classroom, following behind her and sitting down next to her as was the usual. Remember was already in there, and so was Carlos, that new kid. Charlie was curious about him, but hadn't really had much of an opporutnity to get to know him yet. A shame. Carlos seemed like a nice enough guy. Chaz looked away from where the two were sitting and down at his desk, studying the grafitti there. It never changed, but something about it still managed to fascinate him. There was an eye drawn there, traced over so many times in pencil that it was almost like the desk had a tattoo. A sudden thought hit him, and he turned to look at Sabrina, his eyes alight with excitement and hope.

"Sabrina! My bike just got back from the shop two days ago, and I've been dying to take it out. You wanna ride with me to Ethan's party tomorrow night?" he asked in an undertone, trying his best not to get the teacher upset with him. He didn't like getting in trouble in class. Especially not in classes Bri was in. She would get exasperated with him. She never got in trouble. She was too smart for that.

Still, he hoped she said yes. He hoped she would come with him. He wasn't sure how much she would trust a motorcycle, without seatbelts and all, but hopefully she'd know that he would be safe in his hands. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if anything happened to her because of him.
"I promise to drive nice and slow, if that helps. he added. Please say yes. Please say yes. Please please please please please please please please....

Blake rolled his eyes at Tasha's reply, waiting until she was safely out of the pool before making a move to climb out himself. No point getting out if she was just going to fall right back in. A half-smirk crept onto his face at the thought, since it was pretty funny. Tasha would, after all, be the only one in the whole school with the ability to trip over nothing into a pool, climb back out, and then fall in all over again. Only her. He held back a chuckle, looking down at himself and sighing slightly. He was soaked, again. Fantastic. When he looked back up though, he was surprised to see that Ruthie was offering him a hand. The shock must have shown on his face, because her cheeks flushed. But the hand remained there.

".....I don't want to get you wet again." he said lamely, pulling himself out of the water. Her next words surprised him, again. This was probably why he liked her so damn much. He never knew what to expect from her. She was....enchanting. Something inside of him swelled with sudden pride at the word 'hero', but he quickly squashed it back down. Hero, barely. He'd done what anyone would have done. It was the only sensical thing to do. And while he wanted to accept her praise, nod, and ask her if she needed any heroic deeds performed, he didn't. He wouldn't. His actions were nothing out of the ordinary. "I just did what anyone would've done." he replied simply, turning away for a second and shaking the water out of his hair. He really didn't want to get her wet again, not when she was already clean and dressed and ready for first period. Unlike Tasha, he had the decency to consider others when he decided to get real wet. He laughed internally at his own little sarcastic jibe, a smile creeping across his lips again. He would make her get him a new shirt. He so would.

Blake turned back to look at Ruthie, wanting to ask if she would wait for him to walk to first, but for some reason, lacking the courage to do so. His nerve seemed to falter and die as he looked into her eyes. Her gray-green eyes that always seemed to be smiling at the corners. That felt like they were always looking straight through him, uninterested... He opened his mouth for a moment, but shut it quickly. He really couldn't think of how to say it without sounding like a desperate girl. And that was the absolute last way he wanted to come across. So instead he just turned and walked back to his locker, taking off his shirt once more and wiping himself down with the towel he had dropped when he had jumped in. Stray drops of water were still falling from his hair down onto his shoulders. After scouring the locker for a moment, he realized he didn't have another shirt with him. All he had was an old Lifeguard's hoodie from some summer way back when that he had no doubt shoved in there weeks ago just so he wouldn't have to carry it throughout the day. Fantastic. He would be stuck wearing that all day long. Great, just great.

Blake sighed to himself and rubbed the towel on his head vigorously, ridding his hair of most of the water before pulling the sweatshirt on. He quickly changed into a pair of jeans and pulled on a pair of shoes. Black Vans. He turned and left the locker rooms, rubbing his arms to try and dry off his still-damp skin.

xXx"Selene! Get up you have school today and you skipped some of your chores last night!"

xXxSelene jolted awake at the shock of being yelled at, of course ths was how it always was everyday. She was always woken up with some talk of how she had failed to finish something or another. It was a little frustrating but she didn't complain it didn't get her anything other then in trouble. She learned from a very young age that complaining equaled more work and more work made it hard to get homework or anything else done. The less work she had to do the better because there was no way she could handle a whole ton of chores with school work, but she always seemed to do so... the worst part was that her step mother wanted her to get a job and that was the last thing Selene needed. "Selene! Did you hear me?"

xXx"Yes, I heard you I'm up, just give me a moment," she replied quietly and slowly slipped off her bed. It wasn't long and she was in a pair of faded blue jeans, a white tanktop, blue zip up hoodie, and her black converse she always wore. Selene couldn't believe how fast she had actually gotten dressed today especially since she normally wasn't this quick, but she had a feeling that if she took any longer it would mean trouble for her. With a very small frustrated sigh she grabbed her school bag and walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.

xXx"If you want a ride to school today hurry up otherwise you can just walk there you already missed the bus," her stepmother glared at her. Selene didn't really offer much in reply and quickly made some toast and practically inhaled it. Under normal circumstances she wouldn't have cared, but since she had missed the bus and the quickest way to get there was through her stepmom she figured it was best just to do exactly what she was told at the moment. "I'm ready whenever you are," she glanced over at her step mother to see what she was doing and the only thing she got from her step mom was an annoyed huff and a small glare.

xXxThe car ride was surprisingly a quiet one especially since her mom always had something to complain about weather it was the chores she was suppose to do, or her looks, or what she was wearing, and just about everything else under the sun. To tell the truth Selene never really paid all that much attention to her she had a feeling that she just wasn't liked and she would much rather just keep it that way. She was glad though when the ride was over it wasn't long and she took off for her first hour class which happened to be Creative Writing. She was glad she had that class first especially since it was always fun to go to they always had something they were suppose to write and all of her stories seemed to be liked by the teacher. She smiled as she took her seat in the class room and sat down. It wasn't too much longer and everyone else a part of the class was in there sitting down and writing in their notebooks about the topic or situation that was put up on the board.

Scratching at what looked like melted eraser on the desk as she read her book, Remembers hair had fallen along the sides of her face, sheltering her from others. She watched a few familiar faces walk through the door of her Creative Writing class but no one she was actually really friends with. Was she bored? Oh, hell yes. The last thing she wanted to do was sit in a desk and wait for a teacher to get in the class room to tell the students absolutely nothing. Maybe hand out a syllabus that only half the students out of all six classes would hand back, droning on in a monotone voice about that curriculum, and then students whispering, passing notes, or texting behind that 'oblivious' teachers back as they caught up on all the gossip or summer activities and festivities.
At the end of her freshman year, the previous year, Wisteria and a few friends had snuck up into the cat walk in the auditorium and went out the door that linked the walk to the roof. Played a little cards, threw around a Frisbee, danced, listened to music, and went to prove that there was no pool on top of the school gym. She still had her cards in her back pack, never went any where without them, but she didn't have a Frisbee. She had a football though.

Her thoughts were cut in two as a Hispanic new kid sauntered his way over to her. She tucked the wall of chestnut hair back as she looked at the coffee skinned male. He mistook the book she was reading for the summer reading they were supposed to of done over break. A chuckle escaped her lips. "This happens to be an incredibly great book and it's one of my own. Not the book for this class."

When he got to his punch line, it made Wisty's eyebrow arch. Was that a pick up line or was he being genuine? She couldn't tell. The way he moved and held himself, even the way he batted his little eyelashes led her to believe it wasn't the latter. She should have picked up on that right away. Guys didn't really take interest in Remmy unless they were looking for a challenge. She was, how did her friend phrase it? Intimidating, that was it. An athletic, head strong, opinionated, outgoing girl like her. Yeah. Guys didn't really see her that way. But the blue orbed girl was fine with that. She'd learned to live, even though she did like...... oh well, that wasn't important. He'd never like her back.
"Bonne question, qu'est-ce qu'on fait?" Oops, wrong language. She smiled timidly as her cheeks grew a tint of rose which quickly receded. "Oooh, you're the new kid in town, aren't you? Well, at least what some of the students here are calling 'new'. Little hint, only thing good at this school are the sports and how little patrol there is around the auditorium. Most interesting, and most clean, place here is the roof of the school. But there's no way possible to get up there at this time of day, so how about we just play a game of cards?" she asked with a glimmering smile upon her lips.

Laughing at the excitement that Chaz had for the upcoming meet, she rolled her eyes in response. "Tell you what, I'll get out the pompoms and make a full routine while I'm at it too. Gotta love school spirit." She winked cheekily, doing half-hearted jazz hands and tossing her mass of curls behind her shoulder. It was hardly a secret that she had little to no athletic ability, aside from the occasional rushed sprint to the school. Books and intellect were more her style, but it was no problem to make fun of her own weakness every now and again. Gray eyes glistened teasingly, locking onto her friend's as they entered the classroom and headed to their desks."Mind you, if I really did go with that, they'll have to have the paramedics on standby. Dangerous stuff, cheerleading." With a sarcastically dramatic sigh, she sat down, rummaging through her bag for the book she was actually supposed to be looking at. The bell had just rung behind them, and class was starting up. She could feel the spine of the book she was looking for and reached further in to pull it out. It was in as decent a condition as it possibly could be for a book mishandled by countless teenagers in the past.

Even with the teacher now chatting away, Sabrina was more than happy to keep talking with Chaz, albeit in lower tones so they were not caught. Out of habit, she scanned around the classroom and got the general idea of what was currently going on. Carlos, the one who transferred from who-knows-where, was chatting up a storm with Remember, but that appeared to be the only thing that was really out of the ordinary. With that, she was content to listen to the two people she wanted to pay attention to, the person beside her, and the person at the front. Something caught the corner of her eye and she turned her head just slightly so that she could get a better view of Chaz. Her instinct was far from wrong. If anything, the look of anticipation and liveliness was a definite sign that she was about to hear something interesting from her companion. As it turned out to be, he was far from disappointing her. Then the party at Ethan's house came up to the conversation.

She was unsure of a proper reply. She thought herself to be a terrible bore at times, and she definitely had no intentions of ruining Chaz's time at the party because she was little more than a wallflower. On the other hand, he seemed so incredibly hopeful that she would come along anyway. While she questioned the safety of a motorbike, there was no true way for her to refuse her friend's earnest offer to ride with him there. Eyes flickering to the teacher, then back to Chaz, she nodded.
"I've never been on a motorcycle before. I really hope you know what you're doing." Sabrina was messing with him, cracking a grin shortly after. Knowing him, chances were that he would be careful enough with it if she was involved. Whether or not he drove fast or slow was nothing she really cared about. Either way, Chaz probably wanted things to go without a hitch more than she did. Just because she was silent most of the time hardly meant that she did not enjoy a good thrill every now and again. Hopefully, her best friend would not go overboard with the whole slow-driving thing. She was far from being that breakable. "So what time?"

Ruthie lowered her hand and chuckled nervously at Blake's reply. Of course he acted like anyone else would have. If she had seen it, she would have done the same. Speaking always left her flustered. Writing she could do; coming up with lines for the characters and situations she crated in her head were simple. Voicing her own opinions and knowing just what to say was never something she was confident about, unless she was writing it. She subconsciously twirled her favorite necklace, a red pendant, a nervous habit that she couldn't seem to break. She saw Tasha dart out of the pool area from the corner of her eye, and turned in time to she her backpack slide out of the door. When she turned back, Blake was walking away had is mouth open, as if he were going to say something, but seemed to think better of it. He turned abruptly and headed for the locker room, leaving Ruthie in his wake. Ruthie bit the side of her cheek as she watched him leave, then checked the time displayed at the top of her iPod. Five minutes late for first period anyways... whats a little longer. Her heart pounded as it always did before she was going to do something to bring her out of her comfort zone. Risks... that was what high school was supposed to be about, right? Putting yourself out there and damn the fool who won' accept you, right?

She stuck the ear-buds in her ears and used the touch screen to scroll to the movie option on her iPod Touch. Maybe she would be less nervous about waiting for Blake if she were watching something to take her mind off it a bit. They were both late for the same class anyways, why not arrive together?

She went to set on the first row of bleachers and leaned on her knees, and bent over to watch the movie now playing on her iPod.

She scrolled forward a little to one of her favorite scenes and smiled as it lined up perfect, beginning with William Fichter falling to the ground as a man in a clown mask walks up to him steady and slow. He began his monologue, "Oh, criminals in this town used to believe in things. Honor. Respect. Look at you! What do you believe in, huh? WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IN?" Ruthie leaned forward anxiously waiting her favorite part. The clown on the screen leaned down to the man on the floor and said, "I believe whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you..." Then removed his mask as he whispered the single word,
...stranger." Chills shot up Ruthie's arm at the intensity. Two years later and Heath Ledger's performance still left her speechless.

She looked up then to see Blake coming from the locker room wearing the lifeguard hoodie. She smiled a small sheepish smile at him as she pulled the cords to the ear-buds.
"I thought if we walked in first period late together maybe we could come up with an excuse on the way so we won't get in trouble. And if we do get in trouble, at least we won't be lonely, huh?", she chuckled nervously and figeted with her necklace again.
"I hope you don't mind."

Appearing amused by the response from the girl, Carlos shrugged his shoulders carelessly, admitting his mistake, sort of. In his eyes, there was no real difference between whether or not it was assigned, or done just for fun. Classes were dull when all that they had to do was read and study. There was no amount of novels in the world that would be suitable for an easily distracted mind such as his own. Well whatever. "Ehh, a book is a book. There are plenty of much more interesting things to do than sit and look at a bunch of words scrunched together and bound with glue, especially when someone tells you to do it." He mused, running his thumb along the pages and watching them flip with a bored expression. Small black words on white pages without any variation to it. Than again, he was biased when it came to literature. The only ones he really enjoyed were the ones that were renditions of plays or performances. Sadly, the book he had been handed from the teacher was anything but some form of artistic work on paper. Absolutely no fun at all. At least the misguided comment from earlier had gotten a chuckle out of the other teen, even if it was directed towards him. So let him play the role of the ignorant transfer; it was perfectly fine with him. There was no way that there would be any entertainment value in it if the second party was easy to sway over, although that was always a satisfying boost to the ego if need be.

Then, Remember said something that got his attention, and he grinned in excitement in response.
"Vous parlent français aussi? Not to bad at at all chérie." Well, this was an interesting development. He was pleasantly surprised that she understood what he had said. Most people hesitated when he threw in a phrase every now and again. It would be easy enough to judge whether or not she really knew what she was saying if they continued the odd mix of english and french in their chat. Carlos kept that in mind for now, listening to what else the girl had to say. So the auditorium was the best place to sneak into, that was perfectly okay with him. The roof also sounded like an interesting spot to pay a visit, granted he find the way there first. Some areas of the school had yet to be fully explored after all. As for sports, it was an interesting fact to know, although he was probably a bit too late coming in to join anything official now. What a bummer. The only one he had managed to get into was the drama club. Not that he minded, especially considering that it gave him every excuse to hit on the number of females present in the club. Heh.

He rolled up his sleeves to his elbows, nodding in response.
"Duly noted, and why not? What card game?" Cards were one way to pass the time, he supposed. The number of games he knew with them was decent too, when he thought back to it. Regardless of that, anything was better than studying, and it gave him a chance to analyze her a little more. A relationship was the last thing on his mind, he simply needed another potentially adventurous mind to pass the time with. Out of everyone in the class, Remember and Charlie looked like the best candidates. Since the latter was busy, he settled with approaching the girl first. A shame that the other teen did not seem to understand he was being literal with his earlier offer though. "Name's Carlos by the way. Being the 'new kid' only lasts as long as it takes for the next one to arrive."

A slight frown appeared on her lips as Carlos expressed his distaste for novels. She couldn't understand why so many people these days hated the written language. The world, in her opinion, would be nothing but a bunch of stupid bumbling idiots without books of any kind. Well, maybe that's why she got along better with people older then her age. It was true a lot of her friends were juniors or seniors, with about five college students thrown in there, too. They were more mature then most people in her grade, but then again there were some upper classmen that were stupider then the freshman!
"This book is my own, no one has told me to read it. I personally have a love of books and find them a good hobby to pick up. You should try it some time, without someone telling you to."

Yeah, she could really be defensive when it came to her books. She had two bookshelves full in her room and had probably read each book more then eight times. Though Wisteria was an avid athlete at the school, between cross country, track, running club, and wrestling, no one could ever believe she was a book worm, too. "Oui, Je parle français. So you're trilingual? Or are you taking French at this school?" There was a difference that many people didnt know between being able to understand some of a different language and being able to speak it fluently while understanding what you were saying and what that response was.

Bringing out her cards and putting away her book, Ember shuffled the deck and split it between the two of them. "My name is Remember, and the card game I'm about to show you is Egyptian Rat Slap. Do you know it?"

"I wish I could see the w o r l d in black and white the way you do."

Chaz laughed at her comment about the paramedics, doing his best to keep the chuckle under his breath so he didn't attract attention. But after he asked if she would come with him to the party, he held his breath while waiting for her reply. The nod sent a wave of both relief and excitement through him, and he gave her a cheerful smile.
"Aw, don't you trust me?" he joked, raising his eyebrows as if in disbelief despite the fact that he couldn't wipe the toothy grin from his face. She would come! With him! On his bike! And he could show her how great motorcycles were!

At Sabrina's question about what time, he turned his hazel eyes to his desk and thought about that. What time? Well, the party started at five. But Chaz wanted to take her on the scenic route. Even though it was cold out, there was something about seeing the world from the seat of a motorcycle that made it that much more beautiful. With the wind stinging your eyes and numbing your fingers and all the frozen earth around you, you never felt more free. He wanted Sabrina to know what that felt like. He thought she would appreciate it.
"Well, what time does Newspaper end? There's a couple of things I want to show you." he asked, unzipping his bookbag and digging around in it to find the novel they were supposed to be reading for class. Chaz himself was a bit behind in the reading, but Bri had been helping him stay up to date. It was a good read though. He loved the imagery of it. "Walden." Great book.

Blake looked up and was shocked to see that Ruthie was still sitting there, on the bench, just plugged into an iPod. Almost as if she'd been waiting for him. He froze in the spot, momentarily stunned. Was this, was this something going well for him? For once in his life, was something he wanted actually going to happen?!

Well, wasn't today just his lucky day. When she looked up and spoke, Blake couldn't help but let a rare smile cross his features. An actual smile. Not a smirk, or a grimace, or a sneer, but a smile. A happy one.
"Mind? No, no. 'Course not. But I don't know if we'll be able to get away with anything. Kevin's already in class." he said, the words more rushed than usual. He usually didn't talk this much. Didn't say this much in one sentence. He was a guy of few words, but something about seeing Ruthie sitting there, waiting for him, had made him practically giddy. He approached the bench, reaching underneath to grab his backpack. It was an old, ratty thing. He'd had it since the seventh grade, but it had yet to fall apart. And if it's not broke, don't fix it.

He slung it over his shoulder and then turned to look at Ruthie, holding out his hand to help her up. His smile had died down slightly, but it was still noticeable in the benign curve of his lips.
"I can't get you wet now."
