Ixen was mildly surprised at Yuki's reaction. Only a little while ago if Ixen poked him Yuki jumped. Now he was able to receive a friendly lick without screaming bloody murder. Yuki was definitely a fast learner. Yet Ixen was slightly disappointed by this. While it meant Yuki would learn faster, it also meant Yuki knew he just had to act and wouldn't need Ixen's instruction all that long.
Yes I suppose you will need to be affectionate from time to time. I'll try hard to not make things awkward for you though. That's why we are out here in the middle of the woods now so that we can become more comfortable with one another. Next? Ixen considered giving Yuki a kiss but decided against it until he knew that Yuki could handle Ixen's presence in close proximity. Scooting over slightly Ixen moved a bit closer to Yuki; although he avoided actually touching Yuki.

Yuki wanted to move away when his personal space was invaded, still not used to this. Who could blame him? He was a fast learner, yes, something you had to be if you were once a companion of Sin's. That fox had used to be rash, jumping to conclusions easily and getting both Yuki and he in trouble. However, it seemed he had matured quite a bit. Yuki on the other hand had yet to change from those days. He was still an awkward kit inside.
"I have none currently." That was a lie, but right now he was just eager to find out what he was supposed to learn out here so he could move on with this and get over it. Despite how much he acted like he hated this he didn't in a way. He didn't like attention much, but having someone to speak to (even if the conversation was awkward for him) was actually pleasant. He had missed being around another, and Ixen seemed to bring out his personality more.
Yuki still couldn't believe this. He was a male, and so was Ixen. Hopefully the tribe would accept this, then again he was sure it would. Sin may be a monster in some ways, but he rarely judged on who you were with mostly because he had no interest in such a thing, as long as you weren't with the enemy. Yuki awaited Ixen's next 'lesson'.

Yuki didn't move away from Ixen but he didn't look happy either. Ixen took note of this. Personal space could very well be an issue for Yuki. There were a few different ways to handle this situation. Ixen could take it nice and slow and break Yuki in so to speak by petting him and nuzzling him more and more over time. Not a bad thought, but the other option was just as fun. Ixen could pounce Yuki and shock him with attention to the point where nothing Ixen did would shock Yuki after that. Ixen decided a mix of both might be worth trying.
Yuki mates also speak to each other comfortably and tend to know about each other. Is there anything you want to ask about me personally? Also how are your paws now? Ixen gestured to Yuki's paws with his own.

Yuki nodded, genuinely trying to understand. He knew if he actually had feelings this would be easier, it would come to him naturally. But he never was the kind to like being forced into things, and would resist change he did not ask for himself. He was not amused by this. Then again, he was not protesting as much as anyone would expect. He still felt...odd.
He blinked at the mention of his paws, lifting them and glancing at them. They were still red, but didn't feel as painful anymore. He was grateful to Ixen, very much so. He looked at Ixen, and even smiled at him with true emotion. He titled his head at the other, smile still on his lips. "Much better. Thank you!"

Ixen got up and shook his fur to make sure no bugs had crawled up onto him while he was lying down. Those little critters could be so annoying. Figuring it was time to give Yuki a big shock Ixen leaned in and gave Yuki a full kiss on the mouth. Leaning back from the kiss Ixen gave Yuki a smile that matched Yuki’s own. That’s great, now let’s go do some rabbit hunting. It will help give you a better sense of the terrain in this area. Truth be told Ixen didn’t think Yuki could sit still after a shock like that; Ixen’s own heart was hammering after the kiss and he was the one that incited it!
Ixen turned and trotted toward the edge of the little clearing they were in. The tribe was young enough that leaving Yuki’s sent in the forest a bit more would make it seem like Yuki had been here more then he really had. This would help with the cover story that Ixen and Yuki were mates. When Yuki came to the actual tribe base later it could spun off as making the pair an ‘official’ couple after spending a lot of time in the woods alone.

Yuki let out a shocked squeak, ears flattening against his head as he practically scrambled away. His mind sounded much like: 'Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god.' He stared at Ixen in total disbelief, shocked by the sudden advance. He had never been kissed before! Ixen had stolen his first kiss! How dare he! His cheeks flushed bright red as he continued to back away.
He couldn't lie though, something inside him was....happy. God he wanted to shut that little goblin inside him that was betraying him. 'H-He...I kinda...li- No! I hated it! Shut up!' He trotted after Ixen, eyes still wide and in disbelief. Shut up stupid brain, why did it always betray him?

Wow, was he glad he had turned and trotted toward the forest right after his little stunt. Ixen had seen Yuki scramble back when he had smiled at him. Yuki looked so stunned and taken back. It was cute. Ixen didn't think he would be able to look at Yuki for a little bit without smiling or laughing, and that wouldn't be nice. Ixen had just hijacked Yuki's lips after all. Carefully picking his footing Ixen allowed the scents of the forest to filter into his nose, and lull of the bird calls to calm his racing heart. When his mind was sufficiently calmed he allowed himself to stop and think, what could he do for Yuki that would help lessen the shock of the kiss while still getting Yuki used to contact? Slowly in his mind little plans started to form, although which of them he would follow was still a mystery. It would depend on how Yuki reacted to certain events.
Using his mind Ixen called for a rabbit to come close to the two foxes while staying out of sight. Ixen had the rabbit run in front of Yuki but behind himself. Once the rabbit passed out of sight Ixen freed it's mind to let it do what it wanted.Well there goes dinner. Care to try and catch it? It didn't matter if Yuki caught the rabbit or not; it would Yuki a diversion, and Ixen an opening..

Yuki was slowly calming down, following Ixen in silence. His mind was still betraying him, wondering what it would be like to actually kiss Ixen when it was not under such circumstances. 'OH MY GOD SHUT UP!' He screamed at his mind, scowling.
The rabbit ran right past him, and he immediately crouched into hunting pose. Memories of Sin's lessons rushed through his head as the normally quiet and lonely fox suddenly stiffened, eyes flashing. In seconds he bolted after the rabbit, skidded in front of the rabbit and snarling at it.

Ixen blinked in total surprise. Yuki was fast! Either Sin had drilled hunting into the gray foxes head or Yuki was taking his anger at Ixen's actions out on the rabbit. While that later wasn't really a thought Ixen enjoyed he figured it would be worth keeping in mind just in case for the future.
Following Yuki when he bolted off after the rabbit Ixen came up behind the rabbit that seemed paralyzed by fear and snapped its neck quickly so it wouldn't suffer if Yuki had really intended to take out his frustration on the poor thing. Then walking past the now dead rabbit he brushed his shoulder against Yuki's front shoulder and then moved away. Your rabbit. I'll take the next.

Yuki had not been taking his frustrations on the rabbit, but he was annoyed by the male killing his kill. Oh well. He slowly sat up straight, relaxing his muscles completely and once more looking at Ixen with his usual blank stare. Sin had trained him when he was a kit, and he would never forget the males teachings.
Just as he was about to respond a rabbit came bolting past Yuki and away from Ixen. Yuki backed up, allowing the other to go after it. He wanted to see Ixen's style, to see if Sin had trained him as well. He knew that Sin's style was more of the disabling of the limbs tactic.

Ixen shoot off after the rabbit as soon as Yuki had moved aside. He tried looking into the rabbit's mind and saw nothing but pure fear. Knowing he wouldn't be able to calm this rabbit down easily Ixen let out a mental sigh. Sin had trained him to got after the legs to bring and animals down. Rabbit's weren't much of a fun chase since it was hard to go for their legs when Ixen was so much bigger then the rabbits, still the training persisted. Ixen gabbed a leg in his teeth and snapped the fragile bones. Before the rabbit could falter on it now broken hind leg Ixen gave a jerk back with his head sending the rabbit sliding under him. As the rabbit's neck came into reach Ixen snapped it like a bird of prey does to it's dinner, killing the rabbit and ending the chase. Sin would have immobilized the rabbit completely and then gone in for the kill, Ixen just wanted to put the poor thing out of it's misery, since Ixen knew the rabbit was and never could be a threat.
Picking up his kill Ixen moved back to where Yuki was.

Yuki watched Ixen, noticing some of Sin's style in the other. So it was true, his brother had adopted this fox somewhat. He had replaced Yuki. Why hadn't he suspected that? Why hadn't he realized in the end he would be replaced? Ixen had taken his place in the end. His hunting style proved it. Sin did not teach that to foxes he did not care for. Sin did not allow other foxes to call him father. Sin had replaced his existence with Ixen's. Yet, he wasn't jealous. Far from it. Maybe a part of him wished Ixen had never taken what was his, and maybe he wished that Sin only cared for him again. He was no longer special, was he? But still, he was grateful. The fox had made Sin happy, he could tell.
He smiled weakly at Ixen, noting that Ixen would be a danger to fight against. He didn't plan on harming him though, he liked Ixen. Ixen was one of the few that could ever make him smile. Maybe the only to receive a smile like that. Even Sin rarely saw that smile. "You must be a hunter in the tribe, right?"

Seeing Yuki smile made Ixen feel weak at the knees. No wonder Sin loved him so much. Sin had raised Ixen, but kept him at a distance at all times. Yuki knew Sin's past better then Ixen ever could. Oddly enough Ixen didn't feel envious of Yuki, instead he loved him too. Ixen would always protect Yuki, he had decided that a while ago.
Yuki's question made Ixen laugh a bit. He had to set down the rabbit he had in his mouth or risk chocking on it. Me a hunter? That's flattering Yuki, but I don't have the patience or skill for it. Hunters have to hunt and kill for the entire village and they are the first defense against intruders for the tribe. No I'm a carer. I take care of minor injuries, break up fights and tell both parties to go soak their heads, and look after the kits to make sure they don't get themselves killed playing with deadly snakes or trying a ridiculously dangerous game. Ixen rolled his eyes when he mentioned a kit playing with deadly snakes but even the thought of it made him feel uncomfortable. It's not exactly the most glamorous job but it affords me enough freedom to do what I want without other members of the tribe breathing down my neck. The only members of the tribe that I have to really worry about are other carers, magicians, the tribe shaman, and of course Sin. Ixen actually looked embarrassed by mentioning his position. If Yuki expected a great warrior or tactician he would be sorely disappointed in what he found in Ixen. I'm sorry you get stuck with someone whose only talent is watching kits. Ixen's ears drooped a bit and his tail hung low and close to his body.

Yuki gasped, shaking his head and moving closer to Ixen. "N-no! Not at all!" Yuki suddenly did something not most would suspect him to do, he licked Ixen's cheek. He didn't know why, but he hated seeing Ixen look like that. He didn't want Ixen to ever look like that again, and he would try his best to make the male smile. "I like that you watch kits! I know I can trust you if I have kits! You are kind and nice to me! I like that! A fighter would have sent me back and never brought me here! I like you the way you are!" He added, eyes widening as he realized why he had said. The male turned red, backing away in shock. Oh god, why had he said that? 'Oh my god! My stupid mouth!'
The male suddenly moved away from Ixen, shaking his head and suddenly grabbing his kill. "Lets eat!" He said through clenched teeth before trotting off.

Ixen was shocked. There is just no other way to put it. Yuki had licked his cheek and said he liked Ixen for just being himself. Ixen's mind was whirling; if anyone had asked him for his name he wouldn't have been able to answer. A few random coherent thoughts did manage to sneak their way into the fully conscious part of his mind; such as oh Yuki's blushing he must be embarrassed.. so cute, and Yuki looks like a fox with a crush. Alas Ixen couldn't grasp a one in his state of mind.Thankfully his body was on autopilot. He picked up his kill and followed Yuki, though his motor coordination skills seemed slightly impaired as the normally surefooted Ixen tripped over a raised tree root and stumbled once. His eyes and face still etched with his surprise at Yuki's deed as he followed the other fox, pleased, but surprised.
