Jeez, everyone seems to hate High Elves. gonk Really though...I honestly love playing them. I suppose most people want to just charge right in and hack everything up, and High Elves aren't built for that style of fighting, but yeah...so long as I cater to my strengths and cover my weaknesses I'm fine (i.e. work on my one hit K.O. and stealth and use it to dispatch the strongest mages of a group first). Easiest way to explain it is that it's like training a pokemon with great special offense, but no special defense. You can still use it but you've got to specialize your strategy and moves to make sure you don't die in one or two hits. I suppose it's not for everyone though, so I'll get of my soap box.

That being said, the only characters I dislike are characters who are are straight up dickwads to my face. And I kill those ******** first chance I get, regardless of race. emotion_donotwant
they making to many high elfs (at least in skyrim) all stuck up and full of themshelfs but there is a high elf I ran into in windhelm who was a nice guy so there not all bad :3

My favorite are Dark Elves, because of the 50% resistance to fire, and that helps with Fire Breathing Dragons. My least favorite are Redguard and High Elves, Redguard because when I'm exploring they just randomly attack me, and High Elves because they think they are all special.

Agreed.

As long as I have played Tes the Altmers have been more full of themselves than any other Race. They do think they are a superior race not all of them but most...

Greetings;

Well, back in Morrowind, I first and would on several occasions subsequently play as a dark elf. I didn't ever much care for wood elfs, imperials...Khajiit, redguards...Orcs are kinda cool. I once made a Nord in oblivion to kind of look like chuck norris-wouldn't use weapons, just punch everything to death.

My overall favorite race is the High Elves. In oblivion, I would make my character look like nosferatu, the vampire, if you arn't familiar...Its like the first vampire movie ever. You may even know him without even knowing it. I would always plan on becomming a vampire, would develope some decent drain life spells, wouldn't normally stay one though because the vampires never have it very easy. Even with the vile lair download.

Argonians though were also pretty cool. Make them kind of look like pissed off demons/dragons...Sweet.

Thank you...

Indeed, it's a shame though that a portion of Altmer ruin the entire race for some people, and then not many can appreciate their positive points because of all the douche canoes wandering around and tarnishing the Altmer reputation.

It's a good thing there are Altmer like the one in Windhelm, because that's the side of the Altmer that I see. You don't find it often, but there are ones that are nice like that.

My favorites... I love the Dunmer, perhaps because my main girl is one. I think they're very interesting, and love their magical abilities. Khajiit are a favorite, too. There's something about them; I really want to explore Elsweyr. I've grown rather fond of Altmer, too. They're so snarky and arrogant that I can't help but love them!

I don't really have a least favorite, but I've never really cared to do much with Imperials or Orsimer before.

It's almost sad to see that in a fantasy world bristling with magic, people seem to shy away from the mage class.

My favorite, in all Elder Scrolls games, has always been the Altmer. And to those of you who say they're weak, I say get an Altmer mage to level 10 and see how weak they are when you can blast away opposition before they even get to you. To those of you who are frightened by the magic weakness? Well, those fifty extra magic you get for free could be used for, as an example, a ward, perhaps? Derp on all of you, they make the Altmer more challenging because they have the greatest potential. As a late game character, I've had level 80 Paladin/Warrior, level 80 Assassin, and level 80 Mage. They all can take care of themselves with great skill, but only the Mage can fight most enemies without even losing health like the other two.

Favorite Races; Altmer, Khajit, Bosmer, Nord, Dunmer

Least Favorite Races: Orsimer, Breton, Imperial, Redguard

^ONLY reguarding Skyrim. Oblivion and Morrowind and Daggerfall have different racial attributes, and thus I have different opinions.

P.S. I liked Altmer before Bethesda made them so arrogant and prideful. They've always been a bit pretentious, but never to this extent. But I don't play for other Altmer's personality, I play for my Altmer's abilities.

P.P.S. I have played no less than 1200 hours, I've had a minimum of 20 characters, some of which don't get to see level 20, most make it past level 40, only like six have made it past level 60, and only four have absolutely maxed at level 80. The reason? I used to not have a job and I don't go to summer semesters, so I had loads of nerd time.

Favorite: Nord
Least Favorite: High Elf (sorry High Elf lovers, but I've always had bad experiences.)

I see your a beast race player then, I tend to mostly play Khajiit although lately I have expanded some.

IF you have Oblivion on the PC you can play as a Dark Seducer or Golden Saint with the use of a mod. The modder litterally just copied over the stats and abilities.

Yes, I definitely enjoy the beast races the most! I can't explain why I like being an Orsimer though, I just do I guess. (The grumpy Orc NPCs I often encounter in the game make me laugh xd )

As for the mods, I only have a netbook for the time being and cannot play games like Oblivion on it. I plan on trying out this mod you mentioned once I improve my computer. Sounds like fun!

With Oblivion there is such a large selection of mods that its just difficult to sort through some sometimes lol.

Lately I have been playing a Breton myself but it was just a change for now. I find that some orcs are portrayed as so serious in Skyrim and it always comes across as funny.
