She nodded her head at the response and sighed. "Hard to believe he would go, he's so scared of it." She said a little humor in her voice. "I understand. I just wanted to let you know that he is one of the only things I love in this world...I like to add you to it too. Just be careful with him."

"I will be," Ara said solemnly. She couldn't help the amused thought that if Odi knew his mom was "giving him away" he would probably be a little............exasperated seemed the best word. It made a small smile appear on her face.

Rei gave that slight smiled that she used when she did feel some little warmth in her. She moved forward and gave her a few licks. "Good, I'm glad to have you as a daughter. Lets go finish taking care of Mr. Odi." She said smiling walking back.
Odi rested silently as he watched them talking. He hated not knowing what they were saying. "What were you talking about?" He asked when they got close enough to hear them.

Ara smiled and leaned over to nuzzle Odi. "Trading some stories, girl stuff," she said, smiling. She circled him to lay down pressed against his side. She was tired, and she was quite sure Odi was tired as well. Ara looked up at Rei, smiling a little apologetically. "I think we're both tired."

"Girl stuff?" He questioned her as he looked at her. He thought about asking again but decided against it. He probably didn't want to know. "Yeah...hey mom. If you head about a quarter mile that way and sleep under something you'll be fine...we got some violent birds around here." He lied, he didn't want the scout to see her from the air when he flew by. Her colors were like his but he didn't want to risk it. As Ara laid close he put his head on her paws close to her face, he liked sleeping like that. "Your fur is so puffy." He chuckled.
She smiled watching the two, it made her feel good seeing her son happy. "I understand. Good night son, good night daughter." She said with a smile then walked off the way Odi told her too.
"Did she just call you daughter?" He asked surprised.

Ara just smiled and bumped her head against Odi for the fluffy comment.
When Rei called her daughter Ara felt a warm feeling go through her veins. She was just as surprised as Odi was. She leaned her head back against him. "Yea, I believe she did."
Ara yawned, then laid her head down on her paws. The day finally caught up with her. She would sleep all night, with barely a twitch.

Odi woke up like he normally did, before the sun came up when it was still dark. He did however remember that Ara was still against him. He laid their for a moment enjoying her heartbeat before moving his head slowly from her and stood up silently and stretched. He knew his mother would be up soon so he got to work quickly. He gathered some more strawberries from the same bush, careful of snakes. And brought it back. Then he managed to catch a baby pig that wandered from it's den when it's mother wasn't around and brought back. Seeing the food gathered he took notice that he didn't feel sick as yesterday, although he did feel drained still.
Rei woke up a little bit after her soon did. She laid curled under a hollow of a tree. It felt good to spend some time with her son but she was even more glad he has yet to question her appearance. She came hoping to get her to join her new tribe but he found a new place so she let him have his life. Finally deciding to check on them she walked out of hte hollow and made her way to the two. She could make out Odi watching Ara with a soft look on his face.

Ara actually drifted a lot as morning came. She became aware at some point in the night, when Odi was still sleeping, before falling back into dark sleep. She was also aware when Odi got up, but fell right back into sleep.
The second time she dreamed. There was an unusual creature, a frightening one. It was huge and completely black. All Ara could see of it besides the shadows were it's red eyes. She just stood there before it, knowing something terrible would happen and not knowing what. Slowly, white fangs showed in a gruesome smile. The beast lunged.
Ara woke up with a start, gasping. Her fur felt like it was drenched in sweat. She stared around her with wide green eyes, half-expecting the shadow creature to still be there.

Odi was watching his mate silently, his eyes becoming accustom the darkness. She was so gorgeous he thought silently and drifted off into picturing a future. Kits running around playing; she laying about with another litter on the way, and he was being attacked by them.
All that thinking immedatily disappeared when he saw her jump up. He rushed over to her quickly, "Ara whats wrong?" He asked licking her face quickly. Was she still sick?

Ara was still shaking a little, but with Odi nearby she calmed down. "Just a nightmare," she said, nuzzling Odi reassuringly.
Even though she was awake, Ara couldn't stop the feeling of dread that ran through her. There was something about the shadow figure that made her think there was more to it than a bad dream.

"A nightmare of what?" He asked curious, the troubles of the day before weren't on his mind. He gently started to lick her clean, he never seen her sweat like this before. It was kind of a shock.
"You are okay?" She asked Ara as she made her way to them silently. Her voice and face lacked emotion but her words were her way of showing concern.

Ara hesitated. She wasn't sure she wanted to tell Odi, given how he had reacted yesterday to Rei's story. "Just........red eyes and teeth," she hedged. Ara wasn't really sure what she had dreamed about herself, but why cause undue worry for others?

Odi lifted and eye as he watched her. "Your probably just stressed out about yesterday." He said laying close to her. "Don't worry about it, since your up I brought you your favorite." He said smiling reassuringly at her.

Ara took one more steading breath. She spotted the strawberries and gave Odi a grateful smile. "Thank you! Something cool and sweet will help. The berries are nice too," she added, winking at Odi and standing to get something to eat.

He smiled, it felt good to get a thank you. Normally when he hunt and brought something back it was just a grumble or a why not a deer? "No problem." He said smiling the looked at his mom and made the motion for her to eat.
Rei smiled seeing them and walked over ate a few berries. "So...when should I be expecting grandchildren." She asked Ara with that slight smile.
