Ara missed the warmth as soon as Odi moved. Not that it was cold or anything, since there was a warm breeze coming off the ocean and it was prime summer time. It actually sort of baffled her a bit. She stood there for a few more moments, letting the wind fluff her fur, before exiting the water.
The run was catching up to her, and doubtless tomorrow's run back to Cruor lands would leave both foxes wondering why the heck they'd taken such an absurd journey. But for now it seemed worth it. Rather than scratch out a place in the sand she went over to where Odi was laying and flopped down next to him. Companionship to keep away predators, it was a good spot far enough away from where high tide would hit. And she just wanted to.
Ara curled up a bit so her left side was pressed against Odi and curled her tail around her body, drifting off to sleep.
((And think, they get to enjoy a nice run home XD ))

Once again Odi was left with that strange feeling in his chest. This time her being so close to him and curled around him he didn't know what to think.
As he looked down at her he was silent as he watched her just lay their so content. Even know she was breaking so many things he tried to avoid from foxes. Contact, useless friendship, but she was different. She caused feeling that he never had before. Closer thing he could say this related to was...was nothing. Sin was almost like a brother so the feelings were different. Finally he laid his head down and turned it slightly so he could enjoy her scent as he slept. The world didn't matter to him right now.
((Oh yeah, that's going to be a really good memory lol.))

((Skipped to morning))
Ara woke up slowly. The sun was just peering over the trees at their backs, giving the world some of it's color back from the night. The ocean was a white-ish blue from this angle, and would slowly turn a more crystal blue as the day went on.
After the quick register of all the colors and light level, Ara noticed that her muscles felt quite relaxed. Usually after a long run and then a night of sleeping they were a bit tensed, but at the moment they felt quite warm and lose. The reason why was her third observation.
She remembered falling asleep next to Odi, but had only been leaning up against him. Now he was curled in a u-shape, with her tucked right up against him. His head was actually laying across her neck and shoulders like a pillow.
If it wasn't for her fur color, Ara's blush would have been quite impressive to see. As it was it probably kicked her body temperature up a couple degrees. But still, this was kind of nice. Rather than move and wake Odi up, Ara simply laid there and watched the sun shoot it's way up the morning sky.
((It's odd, how critters tend to snuggle as they sleep XD *evilevilevil*))

The sound of the waves hitting the beach and the feeling of warmth felt good to Odi as he started to go into the half awake stage of waking up. As he moved his head slightly he suddenly felt fur under his neck. This caused him to open his eyes and looked around for a second.
As he looked down at her fur he was caught off guard when he saw the stars under his eyes in the sunlight. It took another moment and hearing other breathing that he realized his mistake. He lifted his head slightly and catching sight of Ara's eye he knew she was awake and uncurled from her. His body felt weird again, and worst yet his was blushing again. Damn his white fur.
He looked sideways at her his face showing his embarrassment. "...I'm sorry..." He said silently even though deep down he didn't.
((Yeah that is weird lol. Maybe they need more hugs!))

((It's something to do with safety in numbers and warmth, but I think deep down they just wanna cuddle XD ))
Ara chuckled a little, moving to stand up and stretch. "There's nothing to apologize for. It was actually nice to wake up warm, my muscles feel a lot better than they would have."
Ara herself felt fine after the initial embarassment, and she'd been awaken long enough to get over it. The sun had risen enough to turn the water a much prettier blue. They probably wouldn't get to stay long enough for the sun to turn the water it's usual color, but the view was already quite pretty.

((That's a real good statement lol. I agree too,every body loves to cuddle.))
Odi watched her get up and found himself wishing she had of just laid their a little longer. "It was nice." He said quietly as he stood up on his own legs and stretched. She was right, the soreness wasn't all that bad.
Finally he looked at the water and marveled at how beautiful it looked. He walked over to it careful not to get his feet wet and stopped at he edge and watched it. "It really is pretty." He said out loud. His uncle said the beach was a very magical place in the morning. Now he knew what he meant.

Ara nodded, though the motion probably went unnoticed since Odi was slightly ahead of her. "It is." Her voice sounded a little wistful. This was nice, just her and Odi enjoying the beauties of nature. It made her a little sad to know it couldn't last.
"I guess you have to go back soon. Ara was sure he would. Odi wouldn't just abandon his tribe. But still, it was nice to imagine for a moment that he could just drop it all and go with her as her traveled.

Odi watched the ocean a bit more then started to remember where he was needed. He frowned a little as the thought crossed his mind. He had power from them that he never believed was possible; he was respected, and most of all he was accepted. The only thing was he didn't get this feeling.
"Yeah...although we could take the long way back." He said looking sideways at her with a slight smile. The tribe was new and didn't really matter if he was gone for a while.
((Cue blue whale breaching lol))

Ara smiled and started to say something when movement in the ocean caught her eye. "Oh, look at that," she exclaimed, bounding forward a bit. What Ara had spotted was a pod of whales, surfacing for air before going back under. She'd only seen them once before, and knew how rare a sighting was.

Odi watched her as she suddenly told him to look at something. He turned around to find himself watching a large wall breach the water and immedatily every fiber in his body had a flash back. Water, drowning, monsters. "Their real!" He said as he lost all his nerves and bolted into the woods and hid ungracefully under a bush shacking.
((Oh how the mighty have fallen lol.))

It took every ounce of Ara's self-control not to burst out laughing. A small snigger might have escaped, but by then Odi was too far away to hear it. It was wrong to laugh, she knew, but how could anyone not laugh when a mighty warrior cowered before sea creatures that were at least a hundred yards out.
Once she was sure there was nothing other than a slightly amused smile on her face Ara jogged forward to find Odi. It wasn't that hard; black might be good camoflage, but white and, especially, yellow weren't condusive to hiding in a forest.
She got down on her belly and crawled forward 'til her head poked under the bush Odi chose to hide in. Her head came out a bit near his head.
"It's alright Odi, we're safe. The big fish are gone." They probably were, whales didn't stick around terribly long. She figured right now it was better to reassure him, then explain later.

As he coward under the bush he had actually started to cry. Memories of his incident earlier in his life flashed through his head, he actually had a slight case of shock. "I'm sorry dad I'll do it better..." He kept saying over again for a moment till he heard Ara voice and saw how close she was to him.
He frowned and looked away and pulled out of the bush silently and quickly started to wipe his eyes. His emotions were just a horrible combination. He looked at her for a moment then looked down. "I'm going home..." He said walking away his ears low and his tail hanging low.

Ara followed after Odi, looking concerned. "Odi, are you alright?" She didn't think he would have taken it that hard, but she'd be the first to admit she wasn't always good at predicting others.

Odi walked slowly, his pride was gone and worst of all he did that in front of Ara. He stopped and shooked his head. "No I'm not. I was cowering like a kit from something that was so far away from the shore...worst of all you saw me do that. You must think I'm a coward." He said fighting back another bout of tears.

Ara bumped her head against Odi's shoulder. "Not at all. I mean, if you put a snake in front of me now I'd probably be up a tree like one of those giant cats! I would even let you laugh at the sight." She smiled a bit, still amused at the memory of Odi dashing off.
She tucked her head against his shoulder, hoping to lend a bit of comfort.
