Tybalt fluffed up happily behind his angry scowl; of course she'd like it! She had come to him for--awkward, misguided, bumbling--comfort, hadn't she? What foolishness had possessed her to seek him out for such was beyond him, but he found that he...didn't MIND being her shoulder to cry on, as long as nobody else was around to watch. And he hated seeing Vidya so sad. It threw off the natural order of things.

Oh, she WOULD ask him to schlep out into the freezing cold at the crack of dawn, wouldn't she, knowing that he just couldn't say "no" when it came to her. Ah, well, at least it meant breaking out of the house for awhile, in good company. And if the cold got to him too much, well, he could just warm up by kicking around the leathery green football that called itself "Lance." Tybalt's smile was only just warmer than the frigid air outside. "I'd be delighted to," he replied, his tone sharp.

"...Did it just get colder in here?" Vidya blinked curiously up at Tybalt a moment or two after he smiled, a truely confused look on her face. Really, she just got the shivers! "Nevermind that...You don't have to if you don't want to, you know...I could always go on my own." She reassured him; either she was worried about Tybalt not wanting to go everywhere with her today, or she was worried for Lance's well being, or if she was worried about both; it was hard to say.

Regardless, it was sometime later when they reached Dragonfly's Manor, and by that time, Vidya was so cold she didn't feel it anymore. During the trip there she'd tried to think up ways to keep them warm, but she settled for chatting about warmer places (because she was told that would help you feel warmer in turn), plus inquired a little bit further about the ship he had plans to build. It wasn't like she got a chance to ask him last night, anyway! Once they reached the door however, she prayed to whoever would listen to keep her two friends civil...and while she knew that was far-fetched, she settled for praying they wouldn't attempt to kill one another.

After Knocking on the door, she let herself inside. "Hello? Auntie Dee? ...Anybody?" She took off her boots and dropped her bag, taking a cautious step forward.

"deeeeeeeeEE-AHHHH~!" Came a rather loud cry, one that got louder the closer the maker came. Before Vidya could fully brace herself, her older-but-the-same-age sister, Ariella, flew right into the blue girl, clinging to her instantly. Really, the only thing the cherub allowed Vidya to do was a surprised cry; surely the tale could do nothing else! It was strange, seeing all that pink against all that blue. "Dia! You're back! I was so worried that you'd gon--Who's--BLECH, GROSS!" Ariella's sweet mood instantly turned sour as she looked at Tybalt, recognizing him as a boy. Fluttering away from him, the Tahnee cherub pulled Vidya along by her wrist, just enough to get her away from the disgusting boy. "What're you doing? He's the enemy~!"

"Ella...!" Vidya half cried, half whispered; how could the Tahnee say something like that...?! "H-he is not!" Vidya stubbornly retorted, though a little loudly; apparently, she'd just gotten her barings after almost being bowled over. "He's my best friend!" Ella wouldn't understand the Captain bit, so she let that one out of the picture. Surely her sister could understand friend. Ella just turned her narrowed gaze towards the supposed best friend.

"Hmph. I'm going to tell everyone you're back now." She grumbled, turning and flittering off deeper into the manor, her red wings moving fast. "And that you're staying here now!" She called over her shoulder.

"No, wait!" Vidya cried after her sister, but it was too late. Already the cherub's perky voice was echoing the halls, exclaiming loudly that 'Dia was back, and that she was staying now. With a groan of defeat, Vidya rubbed her temples before slowly looking back at Tybalt. "I'll tell them otherwise, I promise~! Ella just...doesn't like boys." Her voice got quieter the longer she spoke. "Please don't think too badly of her." Now, she turned and bowed to him as she requested this; bowing seemed like the natural thing to do at a time like this.

The cold would hardly be kept at bay by companionship and easy conversation, but those two things made it a little easier to bear. Throughout their walk he teased her with tidbits of information about their impending vessel but neglected to say anything concrete--half the fun, he thought, would be in watching the ship slowly come to life, thus answering any and all questions. He quieted as they neared the house, narrowed eyes taking in the lay of the land, points of entry, possible weaknesses. Just in case, of course.

Tybalt paused on the threshold, fingers idly grazing the polished wooden hilt of his dagger before he entered. His perusal of the entryway was interrupted by the noisy pink midget that attacked his first mate. He scowled at the cotton-candy cherub's exuberant exclamation, taking a step towards Vidya. His hand shot out to grasp her opposite wrist in an almost possessive gesture. The scathing retort he was about to spout was cut off by Vidya's bold--and also loud--proclamation. His glare remained, but now it was tinged with smug pride. "She ain't stayin' long!" he called after the cherub.

He released Vidya's arm as the cherub darted out of sight. No need to stake his claim at the moment, though he'd do so again should the need arise. "I imagine th' feelin's mutual. Can't see any man willin' t' put up wi' that. Ye shoulda told me I needed t' bring a fly-swatter on this trip."

Dragonfly was the first to catch wind of Vidya's return, and her voice came from somewhere deep within the house.

"Vidya! We were worried about you! It's good to know your back now-" her voice cut off, and she seemed to be grumbling from somewhere much closer.

Dragonfly emerged from Tybalt and Vidya's right, holding a very fussy Aurion in her arms, and sighing exasperatedly.

"This is why I'm never having a baby of my own," she murmered, before shaking her head, and smiling at Vidya and-

She stopped a moment and blinked at Tybalt. Well, it wasn't as if she had expected Tybalt to stay home or anything, but- she just didn't want any fights to break out in her home. Especially not when it was so full and it was hard enough to try and keep an eye on everyone as it was. It was a good thing Dragonfly had a lot of help, or she was sure she would have given herself a head of permanent grey hair.

"Lance isn't going to like Tybalt being her," she whispered, her voice carrying only to Aurion's ears, and since he was still a babbling, chubby, adorable baby, he wouldn't tell.

Dragonfly kind of hoped that Lance wouldn't catch wind of Vidya being home, but alas.

"YOU!" Lance exclaimed, pointing at Vidya, "I was worried about you," he grinned. It seemed for a few moments as if he hadn't noticed Tybalt at all (which was a surprising feat in itself, considering Tybalt's plummage), but then all at once Lance's face fell, and his hands tightened into fists. He'd left his sword in his room, and now he was cursing himself for it.

"Hey Viddy," Lance said stiffly, walking slowly down the stairs.

Dragonfly knew there was going to be trouble, and thus she quickly hustled back into the living room, to leave Aurion with one of Enoh's older children; then she returned to the foyer where Lance was stiffly glaring at Tybalt.

Even though Lance didn't like Tybalt, Lance recognized that Vidya wanted to be with her captain, and even though Lance didn't agree with this, he wanted Vidya to be happy. Especially since she was in such a stressful situation. Thus, he was going to be... Polite, to Tybalt.

For now, anyway.

"Would you like a drink, Vidya?" Lance asked, thumbing towards the kitchen, "Marcus just finished making lunch, and there's some really good cupcakes that are cooling. They need to be iced, but if we do it ourselves we can put as much on 'em as we want,"

Lance was very pointedly not addressing Tybalt in any way, shape, or form. Just because he was going to be mildly nice to the other, and allow him in the house didn't mean he was going to welcome him with open arms, and offer him the run of the house. Or anything in the house, for that matter.

Vidya squeaked as she was caught between best friend and sibling, feeling very much like a single rag doll between two children. If she'd have known it'd be this difficult, she definately would have either not brought Tybalt along, or not come back here at all. Frankly, she didn't like being caught like this, despite it being two important people in her life.

"Buzz off Featherbrains!" Ella yelled back; apparently hearing Tybalt, and feeling the need to put him in his place. "You don't own her, you can't tell her what to do!" It was painfully obvious Ella preached the 'Do what I say, not as I do' rule. "Go choke on a mouse!" She finally yelled out, before disappearing completely, physically and vocally, into the deeper parts of the house.

"S-She doesn't mean that...!" Vidya waved her hands infront of her, looking very much like she was mentally sweatdropping. YEP, Never doing this again! The blue girl jumped as she heard her name again, partially expecting another tackle; but thank god, it never came. Instead, she relaxed and brightened. "Auntie Dee! I'm sorry for worrying you." She bowed again, out of habit. "But I won't be here for lo---Oh, Aurion!" Train of thought forgotten, she rushed over to her Aunt and tweaked her apparently fussy infant brother's cabbit ears, prompting a cry of distress that turned into a happy babble two seconds later.

It wasn't even two seconds after that when a chubby baby fingers started making grabby hands for her forehead jewel.

"I'm sorry!" Came the instant, startled response from Lance's initial 'YOU!' exclaimation. "Oh, Hey Lance~!" She called out, once she recognized the voice and spotted her Dragon friend. Naturally, she brightened from her startle once she saw him, and with a tactful step, she put herself between Captain and friend, smiling as if the world was perfect as it should be.

Her smile fell, however, at Lance's offer, especially the one about the cupcakes. Alright, now she felt bad...she knew she wasn't going to stay long, and with the way the visit was going so far, it would only be a matter of time before something happened. And that something was totally unwanted. As much as she wanted to stay here, she knew it wouldn't be very wise of her to do so. Her almost sad smile lifted once more, though it never reached the point of 'blinding joy' that it normally would have. "Actually Lance...I'd love to, but I only came by to check on everyone and get a change of clothes..." She said slowly, her voice clearly apologetic. "I kinda...made plans." It wasn't a complete lie; she did plan to stay with Tybalt for the rest of the day, or even until everyone was called back to their real home; but at the same time, nothing about her stay was specific.

"I know, how about you and I get together later! We'll have lunch and make an' decorate cupcakes and bug Vincent and anything else you wanna do then!" She said after a moment of silence, and clearly not pausing until everything had come out. "I'll take a rain check on this one, How does that sound?" It made her feel better about not staying today, anyway!

"I can an' I will!" he retorted between puzzling over the cherub's final statement. A mouse? The pink midget must be touched in the head, to confuse such an obvious bird with a cat. "Quite alright," he reassured Vidya, "we'll be gone soon enough." He could suffer this a little longer, but only a little. And how sweet it would be to disappoint that little wench--and possible others--by relieving her of Vidya.

He pasted on an amiable enough smile for Dragonfly that quickly turned malicious and smug when he saw the little reptile sag. He stepped behind Vidya, placing an almost possessive hand on her shoulder as he peered over her to take a glimpse at Aurion. Tybalt had certainly been too busy to see him at the Christmas party and merely gave him a once-over now. Midgets, midgets everywhere! His gaze flicked from the infant to Lance, superiority shining in his eyes at Vidya's statement of intent. "Might wanna pack more'n one change, lass...best t' be prepared," he murmured, close to her ear. Because Tybalt had no intentions of letting her come back here once they had left for the day.

Lance didn't even believe that Vidya would have accepted his offer for cupcakes. It was just an attempt to make her decide to stay. Not that he'd known she was going to leave again, but something told him that if he were in her shoes, and actually liked Tybalt (which would never happen, ever) then he probably would have liked to spend his time with his closer friend, too.

It hurt Lance to know that Vidya preferred Tybalt's company over his, but the best he could do was to separate himself from this pain.

"Alright," he said dismissivly, still choosing to ignore Tybalt completely.

He listened to Vidya's offer of taking a rain check, and then he looked at Tybalt, scowling softly.

"Somehow I think that you'll be delayed. So I'll just decline," he mumbled, "I don' like rain much, yet there seems to be too much of it lately,"

Lance turned away then, now giving Vidya the cold shoulder too. He'd never understand why she liked the bloody pirate so much. After all, he was immoral and rude and everything a person shouldn't be! And yet... There she was, choosing the featherbrained scoundrel over him.

Lance turned his head, addressing Dragonfly, and not Vidya or Tybalt, "I'll be upstairs mum,"

His excitement at having Vidya home had passed almost as quickly as it had come. Now all he wanted was for Tybalt to get out of his house, and to go out back and train alone for awhile.

"Oh dear," Dragonfly whispered, sighing heavily, and smiling weakly at Vidya and Tybalt, "Vidya- it's not your fault," Dragonfly felt the need to assure, "Boys- well. You know, rivalries run deep..."

Dragonfly shrugged her shoulders weakly.

More than anything Lance had said hurt her more than his dismissive 'Alright'. Even at that first single word, Vidya visibly flinched and gained a rather depressed, yet somehow submissive stance; she drew her limbs closer to her, her hands clasping before her with her head slightly bowed. Somehow, without meaning too, she'd really hurt one of her dear friends...and it in turn hurt her almost as much as her current family situation did.

"Well I...I mean..." Vidya murmured sadly. "I'm...sorry, Lance..." However, by the time she even got it all out, he'd already turned away from her, and started to walk away. Even as Dragonfly began to speak, the tale could only give a portion of her attention, for her eyes were on the stairs, even after Lance had disappeared from sight.

"No..." She breathed out after a few moments of sad silence. "No, Auntie Dee...It was my fault..." Sniffling once, the tale then straightened, glancing back at Tybalt before looking back up the stairs. "His room...its still where it was before, right?" She inquired, taking a step forward. Now more than ever, she wanted to right what wrong she had done.

Tybalt's fingers tightened slightly on Vidya's shoulder, and he stepped when she did. "If 'e thinks so little've ya as t' run 'n hide at me own mere presence, it's HIS loss an' no fault o' yer own," he muttered quietly, breath fanning over her headwing and ear. "Be strong an' don't lettim guilt y' inta anythin'." That was HIS job, thank you very much. A wing curled around Vidya protectively, possessively.

Lance had gone upstairs, and into his room for a few moments. He'd gazed around the room with a soft sigh, before pulling Valkyrie from his resting place on Lance's pillow, and heading back out the door. Perhaps he could find Vincent, and relieve some of his pent up emotions with the gunman.

Lance felt guiltily about the possibility that he might have hurt Vidya with his actions. After all, she had every right to spend her time however she chose, and just because Lance didn't approve of it- well. It wasn't like Lance was her father, or anything of the like, really...

He glanced back down the hallway, towards the staircase, and he contemplated going back and apologizing for how he'd acted towards Vidya, but the thought of Tybalt witnessing this steeled him to continue down the hallway, to try and find Vincent. He would be sure to apologize later.

Dragonfly meanwhile, couldn't help but frown at Vidya's reaction.

"Listen Vidya, Tybalt is right. Not in all aspects- mind you," she sighed a little, and quirked a smile. Children.

"Lance might be feeling a little left out, but you have every right to spend time with Tybalt now. He'll be alright. After all, it's not like you won't be back to spend a little time with him. He'll get over it. It's not your fault, hon," Dragonfly went over to the two, and ran her fingers over Vidya's head, smiling softly and trying to comfort the Tale child, "Lance is just jealous. Don't let him ruin your day, or your fun,"

Any notion she had of following after Lance was utterly forgotten...though it wasn't all thanks to Tybalt's words. In actual truth, it was his breath over the feathers on her headwings that just added the final push to keeping her back; and his wing around her was now an added bonus. Shuddering softly even though she partially giggled, her eyes slowly closed as she leaned her head in the direction the breath-ruffled feathers were, as if tickled...though she was also trying to escape that too good feeling.

"Alright..." She breathed out, looking more submissive and docile than ever today. After a moment she shook her head, going to forcefully clear her mind, and blinking once it had been gone. Luckily, that mind-numbing affect didn't last long...but to make sure it wouldn't happen again (she wasn't fond of it...after she snapped out of that near-trance experience, of course), she shuffled away from Tybalt a little bit, just enough so his breath on her wings wouldn't have that drastic of an affect again. "Alright." She said again, though she cast a glance upstairs. She was also going to bring an excuse as to why she moved away from her Captain; the truth was embarassing. "I'm just gonna...go grab more clothes now!" Smiling brightly again, she darted away from her Aunt and Friend, going deeper into the house to pounce into the room she had claimed as her own.

When she returned, it was plain to see she had changed clothes. Instead of the white sweater and light jeans, she wore an open gray sweater with an orange tanktop underneath and a slightly darker pair of jeans than before. Apparently she had packed the articles of clothing that were much less worn, for one reason or another. She rarely wore jeans. As she wandered back into the front foyer, she was putting her winter coat back on, already looking like she was dreading to go outside.

"Thank you, Auntie...! For Everything." With a smile, she leaned up and gave Dragonfly a little kiss on the cheek. "I think we should go now...before I cause anymore trouble." This time, her voice had a tinge of guilt hidden within, but she passed it off with a laugh. "Tell Lance I'm sorry, but that I'm going to visit him whether he likes it or not!" She looked stubborn; and she was definately going to right every wrong she'd done, regardless if it was her fault or not. "And if you would please tell everyone else I said Hi...That'd be wonderful, thank you again!" Finally, she looked over at Tybalt, beaming happily.

"Ready to go back, then?" Half turning, she waved to her Aunt again.

He was right? His enemy's own mother was telling him he was right? Well...of course he was right! Wasn't he usually? He smiled a bit, straightening and releasing Vidya now that it seemed she was going to do as he wanted. Tybalt felt a vague sense of pride that he had gotten his way through nothing more than a few words of twisted intent rather than threats of violence. More than that, he felt unnerved; he wasn't very good with words, but it had taken so very little to sway Vidya.

He didn't feel bad at all that he had manipulated her into doing what he wanted, unsurprisingly. Vidya's smile triggered one of his own, and he nodded, opening the door and gesturing for her to go out first. "Aye, 's back into th' cold fer us," he lamented jokingly.

"Joy." Vidya responded sarcastically, giggling light heartedly. Rolling her eyes a bit, she then turned abck to Dragonfly for the final time, picking up her bag and waving. "Okay, bye bye now!" With that, she thanked Tybalt for opening the door for her and then skipped outside into the cold and the snow.

Despite the hurt she'd felt from Lance, the rest of the day had gone on rather well. Like every time they hung around together, Vidya had gotten yelled at and Tybalt had gotten pounced on...in fact it was probably the latter that spawned the former. As Tybalt had originally wanted, Vidya stayed with him until Enoh called everyone back to the house; not that she really minded the prolonged sleep over at her Captain's house, of course! All in all, fun was had and Tybalt no doubt has a new vow to kill a kitten every single day for the next six months to make up for this entire fiasco.
