Ever sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Just forget it... I'd rather deal with some uncomfortable sensations for a few minutes than deal with another god who is full of himself..."

Ares shrugged. "It's always best to have a god's blessing before infringing on their territory," he noted vaguely. She should at least prepare herself to offer something just in case.

Ever stood up and shook her head. "I knew this would happen. I told you what Aurora and I discovered, and now you're trying to take over and control everything. Ares, we found this out without your help! Sure, I don't mind advice, but it sounds like you're basically saying that if I don't involve Poseidon, everything would be ruined. I'm smart, Ares! I may have some dumb moments, but I'm still pretty damn smart, and with Akira and Aurora helping, we're one freaking brilliant team! Did you ever consider that we might actually succeed if we do it our own way? Did you?!"
She swung around and looked at Ares with a pained look in her eyes. It was harder for a person to hide their emotions in a dream.

Ares just looked at her, appearing tired with it all. "Evermore, you should know that's not what I'm saying. If you can't even understand that, then you are still very foolish. Just because you can do something does not mean that you should not prepare yourself. Poseidon is the most wrathful of the gods, whether you've ever been aware of it or not. He is kind, usually, but when he is angered... Poseidon is a force to be feared. Make no mistake on this."

Ever knelt down on the ground next to Ares and looked at him with a fierce but also pleading look in her eyes. She wanted him to understand what she was saying!
"Do you ever listen to what I have to say rather than simply talking and trying to get me to see your point of view? Do you understand that I don't want so much interference from the gods and that involving another one would seem ludicrous. Aurora and I discovered this much on our own. Poseidon is a god of the oceans, anyway, not lakes! I was simply going to see if he knew how to gods could enter water for a long period of time. Why should I contact him about going into a stupid lake for anything other than that? If I've changed my mind, then he won't even know that I'm going into a lake because it's not his territory."

Ares glared sourly at Evermore. "Do you think I'm just telling you things to hear myself talk, Evermore? Sometimes things happen that are beyond your realm of understanding--you're still far too young to understand, and not because of your appearance-age, but your actual age. There are things that one can only learn from years of experience, and, Evermore, you simply do not have that. The only people at that damned school of yours who might are people like your Headmistress, that weird Musica guy, and maybe some of the teachers!" Ares didn't know what had happened to Musica, and therefore did not know that Musica was now Nik--that the two halves of that soul had reunited.

Ever shook her head and looked down at the ground. She felt like crying, which she absolutely hated and was horrified by!
"Musica is no longer around. His name is Nikolaus. He goes by Nik. The evil god spirit went from Tyler into Musica and they joined together to form this new soul, one that Nik says is a full soul, that he's finally complete. I just think he's a fake. At least Musica seemed real."
She sighed, paused for a few moments, and then said softly, "... Nik knows about the Room now, too."

Ares scowled, moving to sit up. "Can he get in?" The words came out as a demand; if Nik could get into a Room that Ares was quite sure he'd never be able to see, then he'd be pissed.

{{Since we haven't completely played the scene in Bai Ching out, the one that's supposed to come before this one, b/c Alb hasn't posted, I'm going to say that no, he didn't get into the Room. We'll have to make sure that he doesn't in the scene.}}
Ever shook her head. She looked off to the side, hoping Ares did not see the water in her eyes. She had her head turned away from him, so she didn't think he did.
"We didn't let him in, so I don't know if he actually can or not, but I don't think he can. I don't think any god can... except for me. And I don't understand why that is. I don't understand why I can."

Ares sighed and rolled his eyes. "I highly doubt it has to do with a person's race, Evermore. Bai Ching and its magic are too much... well, too goody-two-shoes-y for that. Even the stuck-up brats there must realize that no single race is completely pure in both mind, soul, and body; there will always be at least one who is impure--and the same applies for the vice-versa, with no single race being completely impure." He shrugged. It was something that he took for granted, this knowledge.

Ever groaned. "I'm not talking about the purity, or lack thereof, of a race. I'm talking about too much power. I don't think the Room would allow someone in that has too much power, the power of a god. Headmistress Krause said that it only allowed entrance to those who had the right intentions, if I remember quickly, but I also think it knows that someone who has too much power can become corrupted with too much information, so it blocks out people with obscene amount of powers. That is my theory, anyway."

"Well," Ares said, thoughtfully, "your theory sucks. I don't think you have enough information to even make a theory like that. Maybe if you found a vast number of gods and tested every-freaking-one of them, and still none were able to enter, then you could call it a theory. But with just two people that you know of? Bullshit."

Ever's head snapped over to look at him. That was it. She was done taking his crap. If this was his new attitude, she didn't want to be with him after all. She liked the Ares before this. This god was someone who just felt sorry for himself and lashed out at everyone, even those who were trying to help him.
She didn't know if he'd feel this since it was a dream, but she tried her hardest to control enough of her dream so that it would allow him to feel it.
She walked over to him, brought her hand back quickly, and slapped his face as hard as she could, causing his head to whip to the side from the force of it.
She spoke very lowly and seriously. "You will stop speaking to me like that, Ares. I don't deserve it and you don't have the right."

With his head still to the side, Ares smirked. He wasn't sure if he'd expected it, but it was most certainly not the first time it'd happened to him. But now he was more certain than ever that they weren't really right for each other. Maybe on the surface. He wasn't the first and definitely would not be the last to wear a mask, a facade to hide his true self. He wasn't a nice person, and while he liked to think that he had some sort of chemistry with Evermore...
He didn't think it was so anymore. She couldn't seem to elicit the responses that would further things and he couldn't seem to help her. Their chemistry was there, oh yes, but as someone had once told him... Chemistry is a fragile thing. When maintained in the right conditions, it will grow and even flourish, but if unexpected things happen and mess it up badly enough, it can just as easily become malevolent.
Maybe he was biased.
He didn't give a flying ******** just too young."

Tears started to fall down Ever's cheeks. Some were angry and some were sad, heart wrenching.
"What.. happened to you? You weren't like this before. You weren't like this at all when we first met years ago. You just recently started acting like this."
