Amelia followed him through out the house, listing to the tour and looking everything over, her mind rasing. The house seemed amazing. She wanted to learn as much as possible about this house... Amelia was always very cerious and she loved to learn about new things... But in her previous house-hold she was discuraged of learning and was hit when ever she ask 'how?' or 'Why?' to her last Master... "Uh, no, I don't know how to cook, Sir." She answered, a bit worried about his reaction...

"In that case you probably won't be in the kitchen, much, at least not initially, though we may teach you later," he said, no trace of disappointment in his voice. He hadn't really purchased her for that, primarily. "Let me show you the art gallery," he said and lead her through, but did so briefly, not really giving her time to take in the works themselves but the layout of the halls. ((To actually see and comment on the art gallery, please see the following: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewforum.php?f=184113 I apologize for the lack of hypertext, but I have a lot of difficulty copying and pasting with a track pad.)) "You can spend as much time as you like here, later" he said, as he continued to whisk her through the lower floor, also stopping in briefly to the wing on the second floor. "Right now I just want you to be able to take in the lay out." He decided that having a slave that may spontaneously combust cleaning in an area filled with flammable art objects was clearly a bad idea and further decided that this task could be named now. "Cleaning this wing may be one of your responsibilities, so see that you take exceptional care when doing so, as the works here are irreplacible," he said. He did have the ability to cast a simple spell that would repair all cursory damage to any of the artwork, but even so, it was best to treat such works with care and reverence. "And that's all for the first floor. Have you any questions?" he asked.

a while later Phoenix finished sweeping the slave barracks she put the broom and dust pane back in the closet and then went back into the slave barracks and observed her work. the room was much cleaner than it was before, the floor was nearly sparkling, because of her magic she had used to help clean the room. she sighed, a bit happly, then went to her bed strightening the sheets again then sitting down and waiting for Matasoga to come back, with the new girl.

Amelia nodded in understanding. She looked at a couple of the art works in the room, but didn't have time to really look at them closely and comprehend them. She keep following Master Matasoga, and stopped behind him when he stopped so suddenly. "Uh, Yes sir." She confirmed her understandings of keeping the Art gallery clean. She then thought of a quick question to ask Master Masagota... "Sir, if you don't mind me asking, when was this house built? It seems old-looking... And yet it is pretty modern in a since." She asked, looking around the house...

He smiled, pleased with her attention to detail and glad that she had a mind to ask questions. "The sitting room and all surrounding areas is not yet quite four years old but it borrows from many classical influences, primarily the Gothic and Victorian architecture," he said, no small amount of pride in his role in designing it evident in his voice. They had come full circle in the gallery and he spoke as he walked, though kept a relaxed pace to encourage further conversation. As they were quite close to returning to the sitting room when he began talking, he reentered soon after he finished speaking, whereupon his manservant handed him a package, which Matasoga appeared to be expecting. Holding the parcel, he asked Amelia if she had any other questions, his tone sincere and gracious rather than caustic or sarcastic.

Amelia looked at the package that Masatoga was handed when they walked back to the room from where they started. She then turned her attention back to Master Masagota, and pondered on what question she should ask him now, for many questions were whirling around in her head right now... "Uh, actually yes, I have one more question to ask, if you don't mind." She said, looking at him. "Why is this house so big? Besides the fact that you seem very wealthy, I mean. These rooms have a purpose, of course. I think I recalled you saying something about Desciples? What is that all about?" Amelia asked ceriously...

"The Disciples," he began "are my friends and followers," he said. "This is the answer in short. A fuller answer is that these rooms are where they come to congregate, meet, discuss, play games, get to know one another, share their thoughts and art, and sometimes even to take a nap before doing it all again. Special accommodations are made for the most active twelve to whom I have given the title of 'Apostle.' "Though take care that you don't misunderstand," he said, his painted white lips twisting into a smile of pointed white teeth on a painted white face. "My reasons for naming them thusly is not religious in nature. In fact it is sacreligous, if anything, for here I liken myself to a deity, in so naming my followers. "If you are more the superstitious, or 'God-fearing' sort," Matasoga said, his smug smile quickly fading, the disdain in his voice almost completely hidden "then you needn't worry. We still accept your kind here. One of our founding members was a theist, believe it or not," he said, a bemused smirk returning to his face. "The majority of us, however are atheists or agnostics," he concluded, though he watched her expectantly. In his experience, few knew what the term "agnostic" meant and he expected this to be questioned, but he also carefully watched her face to see whether or not any hint of her theistic leanings might be gleaned.

Amelia listened intently, very interested in the Disciples now after hearing more about... She took into thoughts the ideas he was expressing, and nodded slowly... "Hmmm... I've always though the're would be some sort of god-like being in the universe, but unforchently in my time of slaverie, the idea had dwindled over time..." She explained herself. "I find your discipleship rather interesting, maybe later we could discus this topic farther... I mean if you can fine the time." Amelia asked politely, wanting to know more... She was actually a very litterate girl, but only when she was aloud to be, and in this house-hold literacy seemed to be very appreciated...

He was a bit surprised that she had not asked the meaning of the word agnostic. Perhaps she already knew. "In your down-time you are not only welcomed, not only encouraged but expected to put in some time interacting with the other Disciples," he said, handing the package to her that he had been holding. "Inside, you'll find your uniform. Not all Disciples are required to wear it, but the best of them often choose to, and I believe that you'll find it a step up from your slave clothing," he said. ((The uniform is any black tailed coat, a certain number of capes, and the hat that Matasoga wears. I'm not going to force you to change your avatar, but incidentally you are already a third of the way there if you do want to. ((Feel free to do some posting in the Disciples guild. That's what Matasoga is saying to you, in out-of-character terms. That is, after all, what it means to interact with the Disciples. ((I would note that spelling is kind of important in the guild. A word once in a while is one thing, but, please don't take offence, but at times your posts are a little heavy with them and it may have an effect on how people look at you in the Disciples guild, so if you're using Mozilla please take advantage of the built-in spellcheck.)) "You may change at your convenience," he said. "Would you like to continue the tour, or have you any other questions?" he asked.

Amelia nodded, and smiled, accepting the clothes. "Thank you, and I'll be sure to try to meet and interact with some of the disciples in my free time." She thanked and reassured him. "I'll continue with the tour now, sir." Amelia said, ready to continue the tour...

He lead her quickly through the lower levels, as they contained little of exceptional interest, spending the most significant amount of time in the Room of Recollection, only explaining what it was and proposing that she stop in later. All of the rest was merely touched upon but given the self explanatory nature of the rooms, he felt that it was sufficient. He then led her back to the staircase and upstairs. He walked with her to each the Writing, Philosophy, and the Role-Playing rooms, giving the name and function of each, assuring her that she was welcome to use any of them, herself. They had covered a fair bit of space in a relatively short amount of time. The information was simple enough, so he doubted that there were any questions but he wanted to give her a chance to catch her breath, so he asked once again, "Have you any questions before we go to the third and final floor? That is where the member's quarters are."

Amelia followed Mater Masagota through the lower level, but was more interested by the many rooms set aside for writing, Role-Playing and philosophy... "Sir, what exactly is the Philosophy room used for? What kind of subjects do you discus about?" She asked, wanting to know more about philosophy...

"We discuss matters of personal philosophy, mostly," he said, "though I would not be at all averse to discussing other philosophers. The name 'Spinoza' has come up, but that's about it. We discussed his views on God, briefly but then that soon segued into what Scott Adams (creator of Dilbert and writer of several other things) had to say in his philosophical treatise onto the nature of the philosophical state of omnipotence. "I suggest stopping in if philosophy is a subject that interests you," he finished. "I've found much of it quite fascinating."

"Yes, I'll be sure to check that out in my free time, Master." She answered in regards of the Philosophy room. "Uh, if you could finnish up the tour now, that'd be nice. I am getting a bit tired..." She asked, hoping that the rest of the tour was not going to be long...

"Very well," he said, his expression unaltered but thought it surprising that a woman who had been chained to a wall not three hours ago was now complaining of being sleepy. After he turned the back he allowed himself a small smile, though he did hope that just because he was being cordial and courteous she wouldn't forget that she was a slave. He may have to keep an eye on that. He pointed out the Cryptozoology room before going up the master staircase to the third floor, where he was brief in showing her the barracks and the servants quarters. He pointed to the doors leading to the Apostles room and Matasoga's own private quarters, though neither were opened to her, as these rooms were not open to anyone. "You can choose one of the two remaining rooms in the servant's quarters to place your things and sleep." he said.
