She would have argued that no, awkward wasn't 'cool', and that it was, in fact, the opposite, but she never got that far because her mind did another of those small crashes and refused to reboot. Or maybe it wasn't her brain failing her. Maybe it was her stomach, and not her brain; it'd just done a strange sort of somersault. The feeling was distinctly similar to the type she'd once had when she'd gotten on a roller coaster (which she had, in fact, actually enjoyed!).

Awkward could be cute or endearing. It could even be sweet and adorable, which at the moment, pretty much described him, as far as she was concerned, though she was trying hard not to voice that opinion. In her defense, he'd just stuttered his way through a whole phrase, with the only purpose of asking her if he could kiss her. Somehow, she knew he was telling the truth when he said he didn't usually ask, and for some reason, that made all the difference.

Interestingly enough, the kiss was also sweet, which kind of... contrasted greatly against his character (or rather, it contrasted against what he kept saying he was capable of - he'd been rather sweet to her from the start). Either way, she swiftly decided that thinking wasn't working at the moment, and instead felt her way through the new situation, responding to the kiss clumsily but still as best as she could manage.

When she felt just a bit out of breath, she parted, but still remain rather close, "Awkward is not cool. But it's sweet," she took a breath in before continuing, "The knight in shinning armor part was cool though. And you look and act cool for the most part, if that helps. Your hair is also cool; it's got two colors, and it makes me want to touch it."

Nathan was a bit of an enigma, even to himself. He always responded to think on impulse, but generally those impulses aligned with a habitual nature, a routine. He was normally a jerk, someone no one liked, fleeting and grumpy. Normally he would have met her in the park and bounced, or he might not have even stopped to talk to her. But right from the get go things had been a little different, like one small block in his head hadn't fit right. Everything else shifted in turn, and now he was so far off his norm that he wasn't sure what to do.

And that didn't seem to matter, because he liked the change. And Angela. He definitely liked Angela.

Eying her, he shook his head, "I'm not knight, though armor would be cool. I could make a good rogue, or bandit." He, unlike his father, wasn't much for the lore of knights or the idea that men had to be brave and honorable. But then again, if she wanted him to be a strange kind of knight, he'd probably give it a go.

"My hair? Yeah, it's pretty cool. It doesn't feel great though," he put his hand on his head. The gel in it made it tough, though not to the point where it was spiky or really hard. It had some give, it was just clearly held in place. He looked at her, grinning as he moved to brush her hair with his hand. "I still like mine better on me, but yours is nice, too," he said, teasing, "I'm not sure I could pull that look off, though."

He glanced at the television, noting that the movie had ended and the credits were rolling. Would she have to go soon? He hoped not, but if she did he would make sure to meet up with her again. And soon.

Funny how things worked out, because Angela really liked enigmas and mysteries. Not that she was treating him like one; in her honest opinion... he seemed to respond to whatever was going on around him at the time. Since usually people tended to get angry with him, he responded in kind; after all, that had been his initial reaction her the previous night. She had been able to see a tad under that facet when he'd worried over if her own hound would attack her, and had even gone as far as trying to help her, protecting her from it.

No one that was really all that bad would have gone through the trouble. He'd reacted on instinct; his instinct in a stressful situation had been to actually help her. That said a lot about him, as far as she was concerned, "That's okay. Rogues and bandits are more interesting anyhow," she paused, pulling her face away from him so she could look at him fully before continuing, "And... you don't need armor. You're fine the way you are."

Her eyes landed on his hair and she managed to smile again, even despite the fact her stomach still sort of felt like she was riding a roller coaster, "Yes well. I'm sure it feels just fine when you don't have hair gel in it," his hand going through her hair caught her off-guard, though she actually leaned a bit into the touch; having long hair, she'd always enjoyed it being played with.

And then... she followed his gaze to the television screen, realizing they'd er... well, pretty much missed a good third of the movie, "I think we missed the climax..." not that it was a big deal; she could later look it up, and she still felt that 'this' had been far more interesting than the movie could have ever hoped to be anyhow. That and she really, really didn't want to leave right now. She bit her lip a bit before returning her gaze to him, "Another movie maybe?" she actually sounded hopeful, and the underlying words were there, even if they were unspoken; she clearly didn't want to leave.

Nathan smiled at her dumbly for a moment, then realized he was making a stupid face and fixed it, smirking instead. He let her move back, though he instinctively followed, sitting up a bit, just to stay close. Not as close as they had just been, obviously, that would mean they'd still be kissing.

Not that he would complain about that.

He nodded when she noticed the movie was over, too. He couldn't, for the life of him, remember what had been going on in it by the time they got distracted. Probably because he had been watching her while she was watching it, and then the whole plotting to scare her thing. And now this. He had missed almost all of the movie, all told.

"Another one would be good," he said, trying not to pounce on the idea too quickly. But he was eager, so it was hard to wait even for a beat to make it seem leisurely, "as long as you don't get in trouble for it? I mean, I wouldn't care, but since you had to ask before." He grinned at her, moving to pick up the remote control so they could find another movie to watch.

He didn't want her to go, either.

It was a touch too late to try to hide his expression, really, because Angela had her gaze on him when she pulled away (and he, amusingly enough followed, as if magnetically attracted). Needless to say, the expression made her feel a lot better, for no other reason than the fact she was coming to realize that perhaps she wasn't so alone in this; he seemed to be out in deeper waters too, for whatever reason.

It was just honestly good to know she was not alone, and that he probably felt as strangely silly as she did. She couldn't help but idly wonder if he also felt that stomach flip-flop sensation, of if that was uniquely her.

"Another one won't do any harm," she decided after a moment. Granted, by the time it was over, it might be rather late, and she might have to ask him if he'd consider accompanying her back home. More for her parent's sake than her own, seeing as how she was pretty sure that she could have taken on her fair share of youma, or otherwise. Still, coming home and claiming he'd been walked there seemed like a good idea.

When he moved to pick up the remote control, she noticed she was going to have a problem watching the movie unless she relocated, since her back was currently facing the TV in question. So thus, she pulled away from him, shifting her position so she was sitting beside him once more. This time though, she pressed herself snugly against his side, trying to retain some of the earlier contact before the movie started.

Nathan watched as she moved, settling back and letting her sit next to him. He grinned, putting his arm around her shoulder so she could rest against his chest comfortably. With that hand he flicked through the TV, until finding another suitable movie for them to watch.

He doubted he would be catching any of this one, either.

If not a flip flop, there was certainly something moving in his stomach. His whole chest seemed to tighten as she rested against him, and though he was suddenly all nerves, he relaxed with her under his arm, slouching in the seat.

This movie seemed a bit slower than the other one, not as much intensity to get wrapped up in. Which was fine. Nathan was mostly playing his fingers over the fabric of her clothes, his mind not on the images flickering on the screen.

To her credit, Angela actually tried to get wrapped up in the movie. It wasn't hard for her to do so normally, but then again, she normally clung to a pillow, while this time, well, the 'pillow' in question was very much alive. His breathing seemed to catch her attention every once in a while, and she'd find herself tuning out of the movie's words, and into the rhythmic sound as she lay nestled against him.

That, coupled with the fact it was, in fact, rather late, was having a rather interesting effect on her. Every so often, her eyes would begin to close, but then something or other in the film would catch her attention and the process would start over again. After a while though, it was becoming very clear she was slowly nodding off to sleep; in her defense, the scene was peaceful, she was warm, not to mention comfortable and... his breathing was actually lulling her to sleep.

It took a while, but Angela eventually fell asleep against him, movie entirely forgotten.

Nathan was sitting there with Angela, watching this movie he, once again, hadn't been watching well enough to follow. Was there even a plot? He had no idea, and he was about to ask Angela when he noticed that she had actually fallen to sleep this time.

He had been watching her nodding off, and it seemed the one moment he tried to look away she had chosen that time to fall to sleep. It had been rather cute, the way she'd close her eyes, but something would make her snap awake. He never commented on it, always diverting his eyes to the TV just in case.

Now she was asleep, and he smiled. He turned down the TV, knowing he should probably wake her and let her call her parents, or walk her home, but he was a selfish guy sometimes, and just didn't want her to leave. So he settled down carefully with her, arms around her, and let himself go to sleep as well.

Really, where was the harm in that?
