"Jacob Nova huh?" he grinned as he took the shot glass, "Down the hatch." He smiled, "He's a funny one Zii. So you're Jacob Nova, sounds like a wrestler's name if I had to be completely honest. Either that or the worst fake ID name I've ever heard." He shrugged and winked at the kid before pushing the money back across the bar and crossing his arms and leaning forward to rest his elbows on the table. "Did these thugs of yours take anything Zii? What did they look like? S'okay if you're too rattled to talk about it but I have friends in high places if you know what I mean."

Previous "No," Zii said after downing her shot, "they didn't take anything. And if you wanna see what they looked like, just look down." Zii pointed to the man she had shot and the two men that Sentinel took down. "I think they were after one of the customers who was in here," she said, pouring herself another shot and ignoring the money on the bar. "You heard about the massacre down at the docks? Someone cleared out a whole drug warehouse. My guess is this gang, whoever they are, wants to move in and fill the void." The sirens were finally outside the building, and Zii heard the cars come to a stop outside and cops shouting at each other. "Well, play time's over, I guess," she said, downing the shot she'd just poured. She rethought Allen's money offer and shoved it into her cleavage just before the police kicked in the door, moving cautiously in case there were still armed crooks inside. "What took ya so long, officers?" Zii asked, sucking on the end of her cigarette as the cops took in the scene.

Previous Josh listened to Allen's thoughts on his name, "So you have hear of me, huh?" He asked, hoping that he really did just say it was a wrestler's name because he had actually heard of the Shining Star, ignoring the comment about it being bad for a fake I.D. Josh then downed his shot and put it the glass on the bar, looking to get a refill, until he heard the cars pull up. Under-aged drinking right in front of a cop, Josh did not want to tempt fate that much. He then turned to look at the cops and stood up, he had learned this from several unfortunate things backstage at wrestling shows. Show a cop respect, answer calmly and promptly and hope for the best.

Allen laughed at the kid's comment, "Sorry kid, I don't watch TV. There are three places I go and three things I do in life. One is home to sleep, two is Felix's to drink and three is work so I can pay to sleep and drink." He smiled, "You wrestle then?"
His attempt at small talk ended with all of the information Zii had given him and the cops busting in. Heroes. He hated that they thought they owned this city. They probably all worked for that greedy jerk Listerine. "Well Police interrogations wasn't what I had in mind for tonight's entertainment."

Previous The cops were followed closely by paramedics. They obviously had underestimated the number of wounded, and Zii watched as they frantically called for more ambulances. One by one, the fainted, dead, or moaning bodies would be carried out. "Who's in charge here?" an officer asked as he approached the group. "I am, officer," Zii said, trying to be respectful despite the fact that the drinks were hitting her. "These two came in after the s**t hit the fan. They helped me with the wounded, but they weren't here when everything went down." Zii was, of course, lying. She felt no reason for Allen and Josh to be dragged into police investigations, especially Josh who was obviously underage and shouldn't have been in the bar in the first place. "Uh-huh..." the officer didn't seem entirely convinced as he glanced over at Josh and Allen. "So, why don't you tell me what happened?" "Three men came in here and shot the place up," she said. "I think they were after one of my customers. But this isn't exactly a place for the timid, ya know? One of the customers managed to knock out two of 'em. He ran off after everything got quiet. I got a shot in at the other one." Zii put out her cigarette in an ashtray and looked at the officer expectantly. He was going to take her to the station, she knew, but she wasn't going to be the one to bring it up first.

Allen hated cops. It was a well known fact. A probably lesser known fact was that Allen had spent the previous day in the station and wasn't thrilled to go back. "She's telling the truth officer and she's right I did come after the fact." He was looking for something to break but couldn't find anything. He needed to threaten these cops to get them out of the bar.

Previous Clearly Allen had never seen Josh wrestle if he thought that he was on TV. He wished, but he wasn't quite at that level yet. With the cops, Josh put out his cigarette and looked straight at them, but remained completely silent, immediately trying to reinforce someone's alibi without them questioning it could be seen as just a bit suspicious. Of course, he also had a secret concern, just in case the cops wanted to check for I.D., he was in a very bad way there, they would see through the fake I.D.s and his real one would prove he wasn't old enough to be in the bar. Still, he kept a clam exterior as always, not letting on that he was nervous about anything.

Allen stood up and eyed the kid over. He was much more in control of his temper than Allen was. Looking around he decided to try being diplomatic first. "Listen, it's been a helluva night. Cut us some slack and let us sleep on it ok? We'll give you all the information you'd like tomorrow but it's been a pretty traumatic night, particularly for Zii, the bartender." Diplomatic was new to Allen. He didn't like it. He much preferred smashing one of these two cops' heads against the bar to prove that he wasn't messing around. But he needed to be a little more low-key, at least until he knew what The Mastermind needed.

Previous The officer speaking to Zii sighed and rubbed his eyes. The police force had been getting hit hard, and their numbers were dwindling. With all the Supers wreaking havoc and a new chief detective settling in, the last thing they needed was to deal with a gang war. "Look," he said, "I don't think that any of you were responsible for what happened here. We have the people responsible in custody...the only trouble you'll run into is the fact that you shot one of them. I understand that it was self defense, but if anyone presses charges..." "They won't," Zii said frankly. "This was gang activity, officer. I've lived in this part of town long enough to see that. There'll be trouble for me, maybe, if anyone saw what I did and wants revenge. But no one is gonna call you in on this one." The officer looked at Zii carefully. She was being truthful, he knew, but protocol still dictated that he should take her and anyone else involved to the station. But, then again, protocol dictated a lot of things that officers were beginning to ignore nowadays. "Alright," he said, "I think I have enough to fill out my reports. I shouldn't be doing this, but I'm going to let you all go. Just call if anything new goes down, okay?" Zii nodded. "Thank you, officer," she said as she watched him walk off and relay the orders to the other officers standing around.

Previous Josh found it strange how well Zii interacted with the cops, as if she had done this before, but he felt this would be a bad time to mention it. Besides, she just got him off the hook for being underage in a bar, and drinking as well... He waited until the officer got out of the building so that he would not be able to hear them, "Thanks, uh...I'm sorry...Zii? Is that what he called you?" He said, having only the bits of conversation from Allen to go on as to what her name was.

Allen relaxed when the officer left and eased himself back down onto a barstool, "I hate all these supers in town." He grabbed the shot glass and stared at it a while, "They act like they own this place, like they're above the law and can do whatever they want. They're out of control and someone should do something about it." He added silently to himself that he'd do something about it. "Sorry Zii, cops and supers always put me in a fowl mood." He scowled at the shot glass a while longer before sitting back and drawing out a long sigh. He needed to contact The Mastermind.

Previous "Hey, man," Josh said as he grabbed his cigarettes and picked one out, "Maybe they're just trying to help out these cops, they're clearly overworked. I mean, are they really doing anything that bad?" Josh asked. Josh had to try and defend the supers, being that he was one of them, but he didn't want to make it obvious that he was. He lit the cigarette and took a drag, then he looked at the glass that sat in front of him from before the cops came. "So..." He began cautiously at Zii, "How about a refill" He said with a wide grin on his face, after removing the cigarette from his mouth and flicking out a few of the ashes into a nearby ash tray.

Previous "I'm not too fond of the Supers either, Allen," Zii said, sitting herself down on a barstool beside him. She looked over at Josh as he made his comment defending the Supers. "They think that the world's problems can be fixed by punching the right person or dishing out whatever they think 'justice' is. If they wanna help the cops so bad, why don't they become cops? Or they could use their powers to become firemen or...I don't know...social workers. What they are now are terrorists, throwing their weight around and thinking that scaring the s**t out of people will make them act right." Zii grabbed the bottle from the counter and slid it over to Josh. "Help yourself, kid," she said, resting her elbows on the counter and holding her head in her hands. "I'm officially off-duty for tonight."

Allen grunted, "Plus they destroy city property, violate basic law, and in a lot of cases the criminals walk due to legality issues regarding heroes." He looked at the kid for a while, "Heroes are rarely like their comic book counter-parts. They usually have an over-inflated ego that they throw around as they try to impress all us normal folk."

Previous "Wow, they really do all that? I never thought about it that way..." Josh said. Of course, in his head he was really on the exact opposite side as them, ' In this town, maybe, but they've never met the super-nova...Wow...I just said that, that is an absolutely pathetic superhero name.' His facial expression actually betrayed the latter half of that mental exchange, not that that meant anything to anyone. Josh then grabbed the bottle and poured himself another shot, which he quickly downed, he then took a drag of his cigarette. ' Man, I should be a lot more depressed than I really am...' He realized with those last few actions.
