19neko95 Tympest 19neko95 Tympest 19neko95 Alright, what I'm working on is based in my own world and is told like someone is sitting in front of you telling the story in first person. The people in that world gain animal attributes (ie ears, wings tails, abilities ect.) when they hit puberty. Mel (the main charater) grew up and when she hit "puberty" she didn't change and their was a prophacy that someone like her was going to come and change the world. So Mel has to run away from home or be killed. That's all I really have right now... So, are there people with visible traits, but no abilities? no they gain abilities that they have the traits of so like if they get cat traits they'd get really good balance and stuff along with ears and a tail. OK, does the change effect there personality? Like a person with dog traits becoming really loyal? Their traits they gain are based on their personality, so its the other way around So, if a guy has rat features, avoid him?

So, I'm thinking on my story and realize that all I have to go on at the moment is that I want to flip many of the tropes from vampire romance type novels. But I'm not sure how to carry the ideas with a plot without it sounding like a pile of drama.

.:: |First Lieutenant Garuru| ::. and ||=Coporal Giroro=|| Well I had just started to get down the basics and junk, but I finally got an idea for my Story! C: Since I'm into the time period of Sherlock Holmes and stuff like that, my story is going to take place in the 1890's-early 1900's.
The story involves an ex-detective whose been depressed since his wife had been killed after solving a case, he's a local paper writer and when he leaves his office he discovers a heavily crowded crimescene, on his way home however a young duke comes up to him and asks for help because people think it's his fault for the murder. He denies but then bitterly agrees and helps his new client/colleague. BUT!!! After getting the facts and evidence, he discovers that his new client is a vampire! And that his wife, who he thought was dead, is still wondering the streets. To find truths and escape the dreadful police and vampire hunter on his and his friend's tail, they meet both a young woman who loves the vampire duke, and a small orphan who survived a massacre that happened 50 years ago!! I mean, 50 years ago? He didn't believe it either until he saw the small holes in the boys neck. What the duce is going on? And most importantly....why?
................................
So? Tell me what you think! There's romance, suspense, and.....Idk if it'll stand for horror will it? |: Don't they make a luscious yaoi pair? heart   mrgreen Who cares if they're brothers? -shot- mrgreen

Hi there. I didn't see a "Join" button on the main page so I sort of just jumped right in. XD
Anyway, I have a story in progress right now that's similar to Jekyll and Hyde (one of my absolute favorites) -- a theatre student does a project on method acting where she creates a whole different persona, aces the project, then can't stop from switching between her true self and the character she created. It turns into schizophrenia and she eventually kills herself... My friends don't think I should kill her off just so there could be room for a sequel, but I don't really see anywhere else it could go after that... and it just seemed fitting if she spiraled so far out of control like that.
I just reworked most of the finer points of the plot recently so I'm leaving it rest for awhile, and in the meantime I'd love to come up with a story that revolves around mermaids. I love vampires as much as the next person, but they seem... overdone (understatement?) in today's literature. Werewolves are alright, I hate zombies, and there's a fair amount of faerie books out there too... haven't seen anything new on mermaids lately, and I've been a fan of Little Mermaid since I was 2 lol so I figured why not? Now to come up with a decent plot though... -headdesk- plots are my main weakness ha.
