"Well I do believe in the lord...despite how he has his moments." he shoots a glare to the sky as if an all mighty being is watching and listening to him at that very moment. "Although sometimes he doesn't listen very well" he nearly yelled in one of those awkward moments
He remained standing and just furrowed his brow. It was a more concentrated expression rather than one of anger, not like it could really make much of a difference. "Yes. It's quite possible and more than likely so. I know I wasn't the only one to have survived a black hole." he paused as he walked over to a support beam and casually put his back against it. "I know a while back shortly after our New Mombasa mission, a group of Spartans were lost in space. Lord knows where they are now" he commented as he drifted his gaze to the floor.

Eyeing the ODST up, she never would have pegged him for the religious type; she'd never really been one for it personally but kept that to herself - as awkward as those kinds of conversations got she figured it would be no better than that awkward loud tone which had more than just a few eyes trail his way afterwards. "Guy must be busy, or you're not being nice enough to people to be heard..." She waved a paw in jest, chuckling momentarily.
Although her intrest was piqued at the news of the Spartans, mostly because any relevant information she could gather to her goals the better. "Oh? Did you know the group personally?" She inquired, but gave a rueful smirk. "Same as any soldier, fighting till the bitter end if they haven't gone down yet." Despite ranks and armor....they were all the same - something she secretly appreciated, and something she wished she had. "Yet i'd hope there was more survivors from your ship....I just wish you had a sign that you aren't the one and only..."

He looked up and raised an eyebrow, then looked back to the ceiling. "I doubt it..he works in stupid odd ways" he grumbled. It wasn't long before his gaze fell back to the floor. Why the floor, he wasn't sure.
"Not personally. They were the original Red Team before they went MIA after something that happened a few decades back. They reappeared, but only long enough to disappear again." he explained waving a paw around and talking with his hands as he was often guilty of doing. He couldn't help if he was expressive
"I could care less about what happened to that......witch Buck likes...but the others I'm more worried about. They may all be a bunch of asses, but that's like a must to take our profession...which is more than what your referring to" he smirked a little to himself. Nothing like dropping thousands of feet to the ground in a tin can to get the adrenaline going

"Sounds mysterious to me..." Nariko commented, leanding her head back against the couch as she looped some of her hair into a tighter bun to make it shorter than before. As much as she enjoyed having the hair of her mother, it had to be the biggest pain in the a** when training. She tried to cut it once, but Koyuki had nearly choked since she had never once cut her hair in her life. Nariko decided to save her from a heart attack and leave it as is.
Immediately a frown etched on her brow, snapping her head back up to send him a glare. What a egotistic bast-....she paused, completely still. Her nose twitched a few times as a perplexed expression crossed her face, moments before a look of horror came full tilt as she all but leapt from the couch. "s**t! My baking!" She hissed in anger at herself for losing track of time and hurdled couched and chairs and burst through the kitchen door.
"Aaaaaa Kuso! shimatta!" She cursed in her semi native tongue, pulling open the oven once in the kitchen and grabbed the sheets with her bare paws. It burned a bit, but she was more concerned for the cookies; which didn't look like any normal cookie recipe. Waving her sore paws to push away the bit of smoke from the sheet, the vixen used her claws to peek under the cookies. There were a little darker than should be around the edges with a few burnt spots....but otherwised saved. Sighing in relief she tilted her head back with a small smile, "Thank goodness...."

He sighed as he failed to notice the smell at all and got to wondering about how the others were doing. He didn't care if they were looking for him or not. He just wondered if they were ok. He was almost ready to fall asleep where he stood when suddenly he spotted the female leaping through the air and taking off into the kitchen
"What the hell?" he questioned. He looked around for a moment to see if anyone had yelled fire and he just hadn't noticed. It didn't occur to him that he should make his way to the kitchen and see what's going on, as now he could visually confirm a small amount of smoke coming through the doorway. "Musta been cooking something" he commented with a shrug

Wasting no time in grabbing one of the paper bags from the cabinet; after a few minutes of letting the biscuits cool down she packed them neatly into the bag. Folding the rim down to keep them nice and warm, Nariko put the dishes she'd messed up into the dishwasher for someone to run later since there wasn't enough for a load at the moment. She knew she was running a little late, but was sure it would be understood - kind of. It wasn't everyday one meets a ODST, get knocked out by a helmet and of course actually hold a conversation without spatting insults like it was her brother.
Exiting the kitchen, she noticed the male was still there...not that it was too too much of a shocker. Where would he go? "Sorry....time flies when you're not keeping track." She admitted and gave him a curious look. "So what's the plan with you? Surely if you are a helljumper like you say you should have thought of a plan of attack?"

Dutch had waited for some kind of sign of life from the kitchen, and after a few moments, he got that sign of life when the female returned, with what looked like a paper bag. His sense of smell told him there was food in there, but it didn't jar his stomach to growl, so he wasn't interested. He looked up at her with a half dazed look. Still lost in thought he brought his attention to reality and his eyelids gradually lifted.
"Attack? Hardly. Best thing I could do now is scout the area and set up a distress signal, but I know none of that will do any good" he shrugged. It wasn't like the UNSC was going to teleport to another dimension to save someone who's probably now MIA. Sadly, he was replaceable. Especially now with the Covenant being virtually non-existant.
He looked around for a brief second and then looked back at her. "Where are you going...miss?" how foolish of him to forget her name already. Then again when they met they weren't on friendly terms

"Well not literally, figure of speech because you know...military jest?" Why bother, Nariko thought, either he was too tired or just didn't find it all that funny afterall. None the less she felt a little uneasy for the helljumper before her, she couldn't imagine having no real path or direction to even head to. It must not be a nice feeling in the slightest.
Then...he opened his mouth.
Frowning, she let out a irritable huff. "You know, its one thing for me to call you Mister or Sir since you haven't even given me your name; but to go ahead and already forget mine, jeeze. Maybe you have some brain damage afterall..." She sneered, but seemed to immediately remember the meaning behind her rant in the first place.
"Oh....I have to deliver these goodd to friends of mine. They're back out in the woods im afraid though..." She admitted, wondering if she should ask if he wanted to tag along or if he would be on his way already. She didn't want to seem desperate, since she wasn't....but Nariko also didn't want to seem rude ditching this guy here if he didn't infact want to go.

He nodded for a moment, not really feeling much of anything other than exhaustion. Probably from all the internal rage he's dished out in just a few hours. Little did he know that the fire would spark up again.
Seeing her become irritable and sassy caused a furrowed brow and a sneer. "Well then ma'am" he knew how much a lot of women hated being called that " If you don't want to help a guy out, then piss off!" he growled as he pulled himself away from the beam and grabbed his helmet. It took him no time at all to walk way from her even though she was still speaking. "This is what I got for being nice? A bunch of lip? Excuse me for not remembering something that was said in a moment of frenzy!" he growled as he stormed out the building and aimlessly walked in a random direction

"...." Nariko was speechless. Standing there for not one, but several moments before the impact of his word and the impact of the door being slammed open snapped that last nerve.
"Oh. No. You. Didn't!" Nariko's voice rose to a volume which probably could have shattered glass if she really tried. Storming after him she snapped the door off its hinges in a fit of rage; eyes snapping left and then right to see the retreating figure of Dutch walking off in some cockeyed direction.
She didn't need to run, she would follow him till he heard what she had to say in a volume that he wouldn't be able to ignore if he tried. "YOU!" The vixen seethed, her fur along her spine and tail visibly prickled. "You god damned p***k, why the HELL would you think i'd stay with you this long; I am not a charitable fox, nor do I not have other things I could be doing. But Nooooo. Because I wanted to help you, because you healed me when you didn't damn well have to because of my 'lip' and being 'not nice'? Well its not like i've been given any better with shots at my intelligence, your growling, sneering, snarling, and sass I could damn well drown in."
The nerve of this guy! "Because if you can't take what you've been dishing out to me as well this entire time; then screw it! I'm not going to put up with s**t from someone who I could have seen as my friend who wont even have the curtosey to get his head out of his a** and introduce himself!" Visibly shaking now as her paws clenched to the point they were turning white she stopped dead in her tracks. She was pretty sure she had nothing more to say, so really she had no need to follow him anymore. Obviously not even registering the last thing she'd said.

Stopping dead in his tracks and turning his head only slightly to hear what she had to say, he gritted his teeth trying to keep himself silent and felt massive adrenaline pumping through. To him, all that she was saying were fighting words and normally he would act on them without question, but he held himself back for some unknown reason. This only made him fume further. Finally he whipped around to face her. Had she been able to see his face, she would see rage that only an ODST could dish out. It's why they got helmets. They scarred everyone else shitless.
He instinctively reached for the knife hidden in his chest plate but as he got his fingers around the handle, he froze. His rage pulled one way while what little of his calmness and sanity was left was holding the blade in place. All the while he glared her down, to angry for words at this point. Granted he had not really heard what she said, but the angry tone was enough.
Finally after moments of fighting his arm whipping out the 5 inch blade, he put his arm down and clenched his fist while he practically foamed at the mouth. "Listen b***h...you clearly don't know ODSTs...We don't give a s**t..From the moment we start we are told to be dead inside." He paused to take a breath. "Your damn lucky I even did ANYTHING at all!" His aggressive stance tightened a bit " I don't enjoy making up excuses, but you try loosing your team and everything you know in just a few hours..See how you feel then!" he seethed as he swore he felt his hand go for the knife again, even though it was still clenched, claws digging into his fur and skin, easily drawing blood

Lashing her tail back and forth as if it was a scythe cutting the very air, the vixen could have sworn if it was not for what little logic this place that she'd be able to shoot death rays out of her eyes. What was it about this a*****e which had her longing to make sure he was going to be alright (when she doubted he needed it) and ready to strangle him the next. Not even Bryyo had sucseeded in getting the blaze in her soul to burn like a raging inferno.
As much as her anger and rage clouded her better judgement, she held no fear; at least not when it came to her own personal welfare. "Oh and imagine that, clearly I don't, because we keep getting back to the fact I know nothing about what you do." She was starting to seriously believe he had a thicker head than she; and that was kind of impressive. "Besides, I never damn well asked you too nor would I have if I was consious!"
"And for the record, Mr. I don't give a s**t ODST; I'll establish i'll never damn well know how it feels - for i'd have to have something like you did and thats not going to happen." Damnit, now she was just getting emotional again; which in turn made her angrier to block it out - going full circle. "You know what? Whatever. Be miserable out here, if you think you're lonely now; just wait. It gets worse for types like us, unless you manage to luck out where i've been failing for a long time."
Turning to another direction, Nariko began to head north as she flicked up her hand in a lackluster wave of 'see ya'. Bag still gripped tightly in paw as she'd punctured her claws into the paper; tail flicking irritably behind her as her jaws clenched to keep her emotions at bay.

Finally...she was leaving. Even with her last comment her glared her down till she was long out of his line of sight, still refusing to move more than an inch away. "You think you've been falling for a long time....you have no idea" he mumbled in a whisper to himself. He wasn't just referring to his troubles, but everyone's. Mickey was young and naive. Romeo was a hopeless romantic, Buck and ONI officer from hell would always be falling flat on their faces. Everyone he had ever known was always falling and spiraling out of control. It's why they were all ODSTs...if they died in combat, then it wasn't a waste..it was an honor since there was no way their life could ever be the same again. Oh well
Feeling the fire quickly being extinguished from exhaustion, he turned on his heels and walked into the forest, thinking nothing of what may become of him or the witch he had just met

---------------------------------------------- A week later.
Still holding onto the bits of her anger from that damned ODST, Nariko was once again out in the woods with her daily to do list. It was nice to head home and see her mother, meet the new additions to the homestead (although she was dissapointed neither would make a good sparring partner) and overall calm back to a peaceful enough state.
The wind through her fur as she jogged at a leisurely pace along the forest paths, enjoying the nice day when a noise in the bush ahead caused her to slow and see what she couldn't believe was a grunt! "What the hell..." She breathed, when it turned around and made a horrible sound at her and reached for something; what she could only assume would be its weapon. Be it luck or skill when she managed to sprint forth since she was already in motion and whip out her blade. Like instinct she drove the knife into the skull of the creature where its face was exposed through the helmet. The grunt dropped its gun that it had just managed to grab before crumpling off her blade onto the ground in a heap.
".....Holy s**t....I, I did it! I actually killed one of the bastards!" Her joy was unpresidented when she grinned like she's just won the lottery or something along the lines. Boy, she felt proud to have slain one without 'proper' or 'accurate' training from the military and......and.....what was that?
Turning around to hear another similar grumble....and then a few more; the vixen paled when about fifteen other grunts rose up around the small clearing where their party must have been looking for something. "********." Nariko grimanced and wasted no time in turning tail and sprinting as fast as she could back down the path she came with the grunts hot on her trail. "Oh give me a break damnit!" She cried out in frustration, the shots of their weapons digging into the barks of trees as she ran past.

Dutch had made a nice little camp not to far from the beaten path in the time of a week. Although appearing healthy, he was starved and very dirty from spending a week in the woods with nothing more than armor for protection. He didn't mind. It wasn't the best living conditions, but growing up on Mars had made him sturdy and durable. At least here it was temperate and cool.
He had managed to catch a small animal of some kind and had, for the past few hours, cooked it to his liking. He was about to chomp down on it when a green flash of energy knocked it out of his hands. He whipped his head to the direction it came from and glared. "Oh like hell this is happening!" he growled as he spotted the small herd of grunts chasing something. What it was, he could care less, but they knocked his hard earned food out of his very paws...he was pissed off now.
Grabbing his helmet and slipping it on, he lept behind the group and stood defiantly. "HEY! Covenant Assholes! You missed something" he snarled as he charged the group and began throwing punches and kicks left and right, occasionally killing a grunt with a well aimed attack or after beating them to death. It was only minutes until he had beaten the bloody pulp out of majority of the grunts, with one fleeing as was customary. He however grabbed his dagger and chucked it at the beast, puncturing it's methane tank and severing it's spine in the process. "He he...still got it!" he mused as he walked over and fished the knife out of the dieing grunt, cleaning it on his armor and sheathing it, not caring in the slightest on what they were chasing
