I think Johnny Depp would make a pretty sucky Raoul. He would do better as Erik, I think. *Shrug*

Yes, but they would have to do a really good deformity on him. There are so many Johnny Depp fangirls...Dear God, the chatspeak, the chatspeak...

Alexis Of Shadow I think Johnny Depp would make a pretty sucky Raoul. He would do better as Erik, I think. *Shrug* It honestly depends on how he plays it, for both of them. He's insanely versatile as an actor, I think.

He'd be better than Gerard Butler, that's for sure.
Y'know what'd be funny (at least to me) is if somebody along the line got Adrien Brody to play Erik. He'd probably be really good as Erik too.

I don't much. I think it's his smirk, and his Scottish accent. And I don't find his short, short hair to be a turn-on either. But that's just me. *Shrug* He's too traditionally "hot" for me. I'm oddly repelled by the traditionally "hot" guys.
But then you'd like him in a very different way, wouldn't you? Heh heh.
I still say that Winslow is the best Phantom ever, followed closely by Lon Chaney.

Beefcake is the best word I can think of to describe Butler. I wouldn't mind if he were just attractive, but they had to make him look like a reject cast member from Baywatch. rolleyes
I still like Depp for Raoul. Just listen to him in Corpse Bride... Or, since this is my dream movie here, maybe he could do both Raoul and Erik. He could change his voice enough that you would hardly be able to tell... And what an interesting dynamic that would lend the story.

Agreed on the G.B. issue, Fox. *Eyes bleeding at the thought of him*
Y'know, that'd be pretty awesome, to have Johnny Depp as both Raoul and Erik. I'd see that movie, if they did it that way. Very interesting idea, to see how it turns out.
I've never seen Corpse Bride, so I wouldn't know to compare Depp's character with Raoul. I'll hopefully rent it soon, though.

Emmy Rossum was in a movie called "Happy Now", who also stars one of the sexiest Welsh-men around, Ioan Gruffudd.*drools*

Dude... that would be SO awesome. *nodnod* And just so you know Alexis, Victor (Depp's character) is very reserved, kinda shy, but definately in touch with his emotions and he falls pretty much head over heels in love with Victoria at first sight, but he's not really forward which is something that Raoul seems to be.

Wow, Victor sounds like the kind of guy I could go for.
...Don't say anything in comparison of Raoul and Victor, Fox. Just don't.

*snrk* Since you're telling me not to say anything, you are obviously already aware of the point I would have otherwise made, thus negating my need to say anything at all.
I saw Day After Tomorrow the other day... I must say, it's the best work Rossum's done. The demands of the role suit her acting skills perfectly.

(I still have the funny image of Gerik jumping out from behind the mammoth in the museum. Gerik: CHRISTINE! Laura: *Faint*) Though I have to say the whole scene with the wolves was really really pointless. o_O;

Yes, Fox, I know what you would have said. All too well, in fact. stare
Just please tell me that you're not gonna compare Winslow to Raoul sometime. At least not in front of me. Lest I...have some kind of fit or something.
*Awaits the dreaded comparison*
