She gave a nod, reaching for a few chips. "If I remember correctly she's supposed to. I could be wrong though." Frowning, she glanced up to the sky. "I really hope you guys can graduate though."

Azzo perked up noticing the chips. "Maybe we'll get to graduate early or summer school."
He sighed, reaching over to grab a few chips himself. He shrugged, "I guess that's when it sucks to be in a cheap school huh?" He chuckled.
"Which ma and pop wanted me to go live with them over seas." He shrugged as he finished the eggs. "This is delicious."

"Oh there's nothing wrong with cheap schools. I mean, sure the staff is underpaid and grouchy and the students don't listen worth a darn, but that's to be expected. I rather like the idea of public schooling."
With a firm nod she went back to her juice, watching as her dad moved to go and spend some time with the puppy. Which was probably a good thing because she'd have likely spat her juice on his face as she caught the last bit of what Azzo had said.
"W-what? Why do they want you to go over seas with them?" There was a slight worried panic in her tone, brown eyes wide. No, he couldn't leave her!

"Heh, yeah most of them don't like their jobs either." Azzo agreed, with a soft shrug, eyes wondering over the park.
When the question sounded he sat there looking at the empty Bento box, and then glancing over to Melody's father as he took leave. However, Azzo avoided looking at Mel when he answered her. "Because it's a dangerous place we live in."
He was slightly glad the older man had left, at least for a bit, he lowered his voice on the next part. "They don't know about the monsters or the stuff that comes out at night... but I know they don't trust the system."
He paused shaking his head, "Dad's a Military man. He's been over in Korea or whatever country they're in for a while. While he was here he would often start out about how much better it is over there."
He looked up at Mel noticing the wide brown eyes. "I'm not leaving Grams though." He added after a few seconds. "She needs company too, and she won't move over there. She's too old to learn a new culture she says. Plus, my father isn't the best of um.... what would you say? Role models?" He paused in his choice of words and let it falter.
He was eyeing the sandwiches when he seemed to finish or leave off in his words.

She was silent, frowning as her heart tried to hyperventilate just a bit. So much so it took her a moment to remember how to breath. Luckily however he seemed to put her fears to rest just by stating he wouldn't leave his grandmother. The blonde tried not to let out a sigh of a relief.
"Life here is dangerous, I'll admit. But we have people who can fight them and stand up to them. Life isn't so dangerous with them around."
But still she couldn't help the relief in her voice and she leaned over to grab his hand a moment. "I'm glad you aren't going, though. For your grandmother's sake, as well as my own. I won't lie, I'd miss you if you left~"

Azzo nodded, and frowned, "Yeah people who can fight them..." He looked a little sad as he agreed with her taking a sip of his drink.
"Yeah." He paused tilting his head curiously at her when she said she'd miss him, his mouth twitched as he tried to figure out the best answer to give her. "Mmmhmmm, Well I couldn't stand to live with my parents so I'd miss the whole city here... including you and the rest of my friends."
He was debating on the sandwiches. Puffing out his cheeks, "How's the tuna?" He asked desperate for a change of conversation.
He watched the baby white German Shepard who was licking Alex's hand.

"Tuna's pretty good," Alex called from his spot near Merlin. "Though perhaps I am a bit biased, as I made it." A chuckle. "Give it a shot Azzo. It won't kill you."
And like that, with her father's interruption, the subject was changed and she went back to idly munching on chips. She wasn't sure why she had said that she'd miss him, though it was the truth for sure. So... Why did she feel a sense of disappointment at his response?

Azzo picked up one of the tuna sandwiches. He wasn't trying to disappoint her, he actually wasn't sure how to handle those types of things. With his family he normally ran away from those types of situations with a quick subject change.
He winkled his nose looking at her. Head tilting, and face looking unsure, but that look in her eye sparked a familiar sensation. He was looking around the blanket, before tossing a chip at her. "Cheer up." He muttered softly, "I swear you remind me of my grandmother when you have that look in your eye."
He took a bite of the tuna and shifted so he could watch Alex. "There's a ball in my bag Mer likes to play with." He said crossing his legs as ate the tuna sandwich.

She jerked suddenly as he tossed a chip at her, eyes widening before closing tightly. She was under attack, duck and cover! And then, when nothing else followed suit, she opened an eye and found a chip in her lap that hadn't been there before.
"I'm fine, honest," she replied behind a soft glare, heart beating rapidly from the startlement. He was lucky she hadn't been in "senshi mode" and had tried to attack the offending chip. Then the glare turned into a playful one as she threw a chip back at him.
Alex only smiled and watched, not bothering with the ball for Merlin yet.

Azzo watched her as she basically jumped. He paused and chuckled, "I thought I was the jumpy one." He said with a shake of his head until the offending chip returned and pinged him in the chest.
He blinked, and he shook his head tossing it back at her with his tongue stuck out. "Lair! Grams gives that same line."

She stuck her tongue out at him then threw the same chip back at him. For a moment it was an all out tongue war, which ended up in him winning as she paused to counter argue. "I am too fine! Don't you know how emotional girls can be? We can be sad and weepy one moment then happy the next."
A second (third?) chip flew at him, adding to the arsenal of chip grenades. "So watch what you say or those may be fighting words." Of course she was goading him playfully, not angry at him at all.

He squeaked as a few more chips than the one he threw at her was making their way at him. He decided to be silly and try to catch the last one in his mouth.
He chuckled, "You know I'm not sure I do understand how emotional girls can be. But I know that one look, if only it's because grams gives it too." He shook his head.
"Oh dem's fighting words huh? Well I guess it's a good thing I don't fight girls. Specially when they're father's around, 'cause I'd loose." He said with as serious of a nod as possible. "Isn't that right Alex?" He directed towards the elder man, as he finished off the tuna sandwich, "By the way, you should open a tuna sandwich shop." He added.

She tossed a few more for good measure. "I promise you, Azzo, in the name of the moon I am perfectly fine~" Giggling, she watched as he managed to catch a chip in his mouth.
"Oh, I don't know. I'd like to think that you'd loose if only because she managed to beat you on her own." Laughing, he unleashed Merlin then moved to join them. "But thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the tuna sandwich~ Sadly my heart's in writing."

Azzo paused and looked at her curiously, "In the name of the moon? Now that's a new one for you, you using that in a song?" He said with a chuckle as he finished munching the chip he caught.
He paused looking at Alex and then back to Mel. "So that's where she gets the love for writing from. Even if they might be two different things."
He was sipping on his drink, "Mmm kinda like grams. She says she's got too much age on her to start something like that. Even though she loves to cook." Azzo patted his lap and Merlin trotted over and laid his head in Azzo's lap after sniffing and nibbling on the few chips that'd managed their way into the grass.

Her cheeks flushed and she looked away nervously. "I write sheet music, not lyrics. Remember?" Ugh, why was it getting so much harder to keep senshi life out of civilian life?
"From her grandmother she got a love of music in all forms, which lead to her wanting to learn to play an instrument. From her mother she got beauty and a love for languages." Which is why Melody could speak three languages near perfectly. And there had been talk of her wanting to learn more in her next year of school. "And from me she got a gift of writing. Even if it's just sheet music."
He chuckled at his daughter flush, her cheeks puffed out, then placed a hand on her head. "And I'm sure your grandmother has her reasons, though I'd like to meet her one day. I do a lot of baking at the house myself, I was kind of torn between being a journalist and being a pastry chef."
"Mom didn't marry you for your ability to write," Melody teased, eyes sly now instead of glaring at her father.
"No, we all know why your mother married me. And it wasn't my cooking either." His grin was sly and, for a split second, it seemed his eyebrows had wiggled. A howling laugh left at the shriek of disgust from his daughter.
"DAAAD!"
"She also got my over-active imagination." Another laugh.
