Does anyone here have the vhs releases? I just recently got the Japanese dvd releases, but I always liked the cover art of the vhs.

I had the three movies, but I replaced them with the dvd versions. I'm glad that they kept the cover art the same, at least on the versions I have. My favorite cover is for R. Usagi looks so pretty.^-^

My favorite characters are the outer senshis but my favorite character is Sailor Neptune/Michiru Kaioh.

I like it whenever she is Princess Serenity. I think she is the role model of girls everywhere in that state. Kind, caring, and full of love for her people. That's what everyone should be. She does have qualities in her senshi and civillian form that are worth immatating but as Princess Serenity she is to me a near perfect role model.

(i know i said i was on hiatus, but i wanted to give my 2 cents >>; ) while I do love me some Princess Serenity and think she's beautiful, kind and caring and all that. I dunno if getting involved in a forbidden relationship and then committing suicide over it (manga ver.) is really something that girls should try to emulate. or just putting your love for a man first in general is just not really a good idea to push onto little girls. and thats really the most blatant thing Serenity does. when she's "Usagi in the princess dress" thats purely Usagi tapping into her powers. and I think thats the "Princess Serenity" you admire. Princess Serenity is dead. The girl who lived on the moon and fell in love with Endymion and kindof risked the lives of her kingdom on (even though Beryl is mostly to blame of course cuz she just couldn't get over it. but still, Serenity should've kinda used her better judgement) and cried all the time over it. Is actually kindof a terrible role model. She never once made her friends, political career, subjects, or future, a priority. Usagi on the other hand (aside from that weird "I hafta get Mamoru back at any cost" subplot in the R series.) is a much better role model I think. She's confident and always attempts to better herself. She's actually shown caring about her friends and family and everyone's well being. She's a positive thinker and always tries to find a way to save everyone, even at the cost of herself. She also alot more 3-dimensional as a character. she gets angry, she cries, she feels emotional pain and determination. She even walks on a long staircase of rose thorns to save Mamoru but is still willing to forgive Nehelenia for all that she's done. She also doesn't mind sacrificing her figure and image for a slice of cake. (this is just my opinion on the subject though, you can still think Serenity is the end all role model if you want. I respect that)

I respect that) I see what you mean, I was mainly talking about her feminine qualities. Like how she is mild mannered and calm. The whole "princess thing." But yes I agree that as Usagi she is definetly more relatable. She has real emotions and doesn't want anyone to get hurt. That could be something she gained from seeing the fall of her kingdom on the moon. Like she doesn't want to make the same mistakes again and lose people.
