Snake continued his slow but steady gimp down the terribly kept path. It was probably because of all the holes and fallen trees that really slowed him down, but he somehow managed to get around them. He had really no idea as to where he was going. He was still trying to figure out what day it was. He thought it was just the day after, but he kept seeing things that said it was really Saturday, not Friday. It was very confusing to him.
He finally found a straight and smooth patch of pathway and was thankful for it. He could feel his fur matting underneath his clothes, but at least his leg was cool. At least from what he could feel from it anyway.
He continued on for what seemed like hours, to no avail in finding anything. It wasn't until he saw a figure ahead rested against a tree near the path. Hoping it was a doctor or someone who could tell him where one was, he picked up his staggering pace, only to find the fox laying against the tree was in fact Kay. What are the odds of this? he thought to himself.
For a moment he stood there wondering if he should keep going and leave her or if he should see if she needed anything. It didn't take long for him to decide, and he tapped on a nearby tree with his makeshift crutch

Tap tap tap...
With her head down, the vixen hadn't noticed the tapping at first as she tried to will her head to not spin, or the world; whichever was easiest.
Tap....tap...
Irritably she looked up, ready to snap what she assumed was a woodpecker's neck. When her sights caught Snake it took her a few moments to register it, the exact same thought running through her mind. "Snake?"
It was then she noticed the walking stick, as well as his rather horribly swollen ankle. It seems he hadn't gotten far then, and she felt guilty for not going to look around, then again she definitely wasn't thinking straight.
"You off to find help for your ankle?" She concluded, figuring he wasn't out for a leisurely walk.

Why is she way out here? And why resting? She must have had as much sleep as I did. Wait? What if she came out here and slept? Why would she do that? His head was buzzing with questions, but then he saw he stir and the same vacant expression of surprise and confusion. Apparently he wasn't the only one who was baffled by the odds
He nodded wisely at her question, then tilted his head. Clearly he wanted answers as well, but he had many more that he was sure he wouldn't get solutions to

Closing her eyes as she breathed out a breath through her nose to keep herself from getting sick, the vixen felt the wave pass and looked back up to Snake to see that familiar questioning tilt of his head. It was kind of amusing how used she was getting on understanding his little mannerisms, and she was sure her language teacher would be proud of her adaptive communicative skills...yet that was not here or now.
"I'll be okay, really. I'm just on my way home....I swear it keeps getting farther each time I go back." She chuckled and leaned back into the tree, her tail curling over her lap. "Not feeling so hot right now, but its nothing compared to you; you should get going and get someone to look at that...."

He raised an eyebrow beneath his mask. He knew she couldn't see it but he stilled stared her over for a bit, trying to see if he could pick it out. But he let out a silent sigh and gave up on that very quickly.
Looking ahead on his path, he wondered yet again if he should just leave her and follow orders. But he was never one to follow orders to begin with. Especially with all the times he's been AWOL before, he'd take this suggestion and did as he often did in the past. Throw it out the window.
He hobbled over to a tree not far from the vixen and slowly slunk down to sit on his rear. He then crossed his left leg over his right in a half lotus, seeing as a full lotus would be near impossible, straightened his back, and shut his eyes. He rested his paws on his knees and meditated. Basically making a statement that he was willing to wait

"........" Kay's own brows rose on her face, tilting her head as the mule of a fox made his way to a tree and sat down; looking like he was doing some kind of meditation. A look of displeasure rolled across her face as a soft sigh escaped her chapped lips; shaking her head as she knew she'd have to gather herself to get him to see someone.
"You're a stubborn a**, you know that Snake?" The vixen spoke as she gripped to the tree and heaved herself to stand with only a slight wobble, knowing she'd need to take a detour lest she wanted to have his already sick looking ankle get any worse.
"Probably why I like ya, you're just like me." Indeed, she hadn't made many friends here; whether it was due to her attitude, her obsession with becoming human again or just her work she'd never know. Fiercely loyal though, she wasn't about to take no as an answer, she'd drag him there if she had to.
"I wish there was someone at my house who could help you, but no one is trained." Her mind floated back to Banes and the Police department, even if no one was there surely they'd know of a doctor? "Shall we make our way to the Police Department?"

Snake Eyes he cracked open an eye and a faint smile formed and was visible from the tight fitting mask. He started to pick himself up, but he heard the police department. He thought for a moment, trying to remember if there was even anyone there who could help him. Surely the AI had no clue of any doctors, so there was no bother asking it. Especially with how it enjoyed changing forms. He racked his brain and supposed there was no one who could.
He looked at her and shook his head. He had already passed it and it would just be more trouble to back track. Besides, he had dealt with the broken ankle for quite some time, and apart from hindering his mobility, he didn't really mind that it was the size of a baseball. He could tell that his immediate goal should be that this particular vixen arrive safely at her home. Then he would feel content on continuing his search

"No? Hmmmm....then i'm at a loss i'm afraid." Slowly leanding back against the tree as she felt her gaze fall out of focus, the vixen ignored it for the time being....indeed no doctors ran up in her mind; and her first aid only went so far. Biting her lip, she knew she could be of no real help to the fox and would probably slow him down with her constant need to take a break to collect herself or to control the pain.
"Well, Snake....I best let you get on your way then...I hope you find someone that can help you with that. If not, head back to the shop and i'll try and use some contacts to dig one out of the woodwork..." She smiled, pushing her hair out from her face and sight.

The ninja sat still for a moment while she spaced in and out of reality. Finally when she told him something he already knew, he decided to stand, readying himself for departure, but then she dismissed him. He paused and looked at her, confused further. Then she explained herself. Well that's just more reason for me to tag along he thought to himself as a small smile crack over his mask once again. He balanced himself against a tree and crossed his arms. He was willing to wait as long as he had to. He wouldn't let a team mate behind to struggle, and he wasn't going to do the same here

....Oh he's still there, isn't he? Once she looked back up, the vixen's face twisted into one of disbelief. "Are you serious!?" She tossed him a choice look, with little bite behind it other than a deflating sigh. Indeed he was turning out to be rather similar to her.
"Alright, alright....lets go....the faster we get there the quicker you can take care of your problems which by the way is going to sit on my conscience if you further injure yourself." Pushing off of the tree she began her slow walk, hoping he'd be able to keep up since her momentum might be the only thing keeping her in a semi straight line. Swallowing hard as she continued down the path she originally set upon.

Snake nodded in satisfaction as he picked up the crutch and leaned on it. He started to hobble off after her, and kept up just fine, especially since by that point in time the wooden object had become more of a 5th limb than an inanimate object. He had no worries about his ankle. Had she seen the residue of past severe injuries, she probably wouldn't be nearly as concerned for his often reckless behavior.
While trekking down the path, he couldn't help but let his mind wander. Mostly on the subject of his dream. It had been many months since storm shadow's death. Many many years since he was left to fend on the streets of Tokyo, and so on. He couldn't help but get the feeling that this remembrance wasn't coincidence. He was never able to before, so why now all of the sudden? He wasn't sure, but he felt a small pang in his foot, and instinctively he looked down, to his surprise he could see his skin and fur crawling and the swelling going down. He stopped in shock and horror as his foot basically reformed itself in mere minutes and looked almost as good as new. <********> he thought as his mouth was wide open in shock. Were his eyes visible, they would have been the size of golfballs, since he had seen only one thing that could do self healing that fast. Nanomites. He was infected, and now it all made sense to him

Likewise with the vixen her mind began to space out, be it from her ailment or the fact it was a horribly long walk back to the house she wasn't sure. She recalled the night she'd turned from human to fox, everything seemed so clear in her photographic memory....yet whenever she tried to concentrate and decipher what she'd used her mind could only come up with a fuzzy image. Folding her ears back as it continued to frustrate her every day, the femme only stopped when a flash of hot pain seared in her gut; curling over for a moment but a few collective breaths made her feel a bit of relief.
Glancing over her shoulder to see Snake standing still in what seemed like either a revelation or bewilderment; she shifted her paw to make herself more stable before calling back. "Everything alright back there? Need me to slow?"

He heard nothing. He was to stuck on the fact that his foot had fixed itself so quick. His mind raced in trying to find any moment where he didn't remember something, but nothing came to him. How did I get them then?? he thought in panic. He knew that if he had been infected with nanomites, then he might have been controlled to do things he wouldn't remember. Like maybe killing someone dear to him, or anything. It would explain why he had no memory of arriving to where he was nor the memory of becoming a fox. It might also explain why he never remembered loosing his tail. What else had he done that he couldn't remember, he wondered
He gently put his foot flat on the ground. No pain, no firey tangent of the nerves. Nothing, just the soft ground beneath his toes. He dropped his crutch and knelt down to see the gash that had been on his leg as well. All that remained of it was a small discolored line. Another scar to his body, but it was perfectly fine. He had to take several breaths of air to prevent from falling over. He wondered if maybe the Nanomites could fix long term damage. He opened his mouth and tried to say something, but only raspy air escaped his lips. He frowned and decided it was at least worth the try. He looked back down and was in complete disbelief of the circumstances

Looking on curiously as he seemed to be completely absorbed in whatever it was he was doing, and whatever it was she couldn't exactly make out with her vision acting up on her. As her paw found it's way back to her forehead she felt as if she was cooking, even though the morning hours were no where near hot enough. Seeing as they weren't going anywhere for a little bit she found some refuge to lean back against a tree in the shade.
Swallowing hard the vixen closed her eyes, just now remembering (and slightly glad) She'd forgotten to grab her sweater from the laundry room of the shop. Not that it would have done her any good, being in this top was enough to seemingly make her sweat from under her pelt. "Snake....you okay there buddy?" She called out again, unable to hear his steps or anything despite he was a mute and well, a ninja.

He finally snapped back to reality and looked up, he saw that his traveling companion had moved to shade. He stood and gimped over, seeing as one foot had a boot and the other was not, he put a paw on her shoulder, telling her that she didn't need to worry about him and could relax as much as she wanted now.
He was still baffled of what had happened, but he tried to focus his attention on the vixen, who was seemingly having trouble. He was sure it couldn't have been the heat. She was wearing much less than he was, so she couldn't have been overheated
