"I can reach some pretty decent speeds," he replied, mildly amused by the deava's question. "I imagine not too dissimilar from yourself." After all, they were about the same size and had rather similar wings. "Any particular reason that you ask?" Hopefully the daeva wouldn't cause too much trouble. If not though then he would certainly make for a great ally.

"How do you feel about a little race?" he challenged, unfurling his wings slightly. "After all the trees, my wings could do with a good stretch. Besides, I think I should take a tour of my new territory, don't you think?" Argintie asked the large guardian.

The guardian's own wings rustled lightly on his back at the challenge. "I think I could oblige you with that," he replied with a slight smirk, leathery wings raising overhead into a stretch. "Wouldn't exactly be much of a tour though. I can show you around after the race though if you would like." Thinking back, Akakumo had never actually been in a race against anyone-- be it guardian, deava, or phim. The opportunity had just never really come up before.

Argintie tilted his head, tail slowly swinging back and forth in anticipation. He really didn't get much of a chance to fly, not having met many with wings...and the one he had met had been annoying and boring. This guardian, though...perhaps this guardian could keep him amused. "Alright, race first, tour later." He grumbled happily, spreading his star-studded wings and taking off.

Akakumo looked after the other with an amused expression as he took off before turning back to Konton and bowing. "With your leave," he said before spreading out his wings again and taking to the sky. The guardian made his way over to where the deava waited and hovered next to him. "See any landmarks that work for you?" he asked, looking around at the expanse of forest about them. The territory was quite a good size.

Hovering, Argintie peered out over the tribelands, spotting a bend in the river that was a pretty good distance away. "How about there," he pointed to his chosen destination. "That's not too far for you, is it?" Gin asked in his teasing, slightly sneering way.

Akakumo nearly grinned back. "Please, I spend the majority of my time up in the air. That distance is easy." It was true that as the tribe guardian he was often on near constant surveillance. His flight muscles were strong, and the dragon had built up an impressive amount of endurance. Now the test would be to see what speed he was capable of. "If you're ready then. Three, two, one, GO!" The two took off like a shot.
(I wasn't sure how you wanted to determine the winner, so I decided on do a random number roll if that's alright with you. 7 and 12 are ties, even Akakumo wins, odd Argintie wins. Does that work for you? XD If not then feel free to end it however you want, lol.)

*that works for me, no worries. I was thinking something similar.*
Argintie felt excitement rise within him, he hadn't had a good fly in a while, and he was starting to get very interested in the outcome of this race. "Good. No whining if you lose then." Gin replied. He listened to Akakumo's countdown, readying himself for the signal.
At the shouted 'GO', Gin shot off towards his chosen goal. He made it to the goal on the Guardian's tail, a hair too slow to win the match. Oddly enough, he felt no enmity about losing, instead he let loose an uncharactieristically carefree laugh. "That was an excellent match." he said, looking at the Guardian out of the corner of his eyes. "I will practise and challenge you to a rematch. Soon." He said in a mock treatening tone, grinning at his companion.

The race was an awfully close one. The guardian had needed to push himself rather hard to gain maximum speed, yet it was an exhilarating sort of thing. Even more so when he became the victor of the race. The dragon looked over at his deava companion with a smile as the other laughed. "I will look forward to that rematch," he replied. "I too shall practice for that time. Wouldn't want to fall behind after all." It was surprising how fun something as simple as a race had been. As the only winged creature in the tribe up until this point, he had never before really had an opportunity to let loose like that. "Now, still interested in that tour?"

Gin tilted his head as if considering the question. "Yes," he smirked, "lets have a tour of my new territory. Perhaps we can find a few places that have good thermals." The Deava said; he enjoyed riding them high into the air and diving onto unsuspecting prey.
