Xx pengwyn xX Right now I'm working on Zienchin or Sienchin. How ever you spell that. I've gotten pretty much the whole pattern down. But for some reason, this one's taking me forever to learn. gonk I'm also working on perfecting Bassi-dai. And then Heian Godon for Nationals this Saterday. (Because they won't let me to Bassi-dai for it.) You do Shotokan Karate? Awesome! Woot! ANyways, I'm a green belt, and I is perfecting my Tekki Shodan. Just gotta work on my horse stance. =]

went to the competiton last weekend...saw moon- moo being done by two brothers and they where AWESOME!!
its an amazing kata cant wait to learn that!! (wont be for years but hey!)
It was amazing, and they did it so well!!

Yeah might take a lil while considering moong moo is a 4th degree pattern... but you could teach yourself if you reckon you could get the hang of those slow reverse turning kicks an such.. biggrin

DarklingGlory Yeah might take a lil while considering moong moo is a 4th degree pattern... but you could teach yourself if you reckon you could get the hang of those slow reverse turning kicks an such.. biggrin they look so good...and the control they had waw!

I practice Isshin Ryu, Okinawa Kobudo, Shourin Ryu (modified Shoalin), Goju Ryu (you know the Karate Kid), Hindiandi Kung Fu, and Arnis Escirma. My favorite kata is the one I'm doing at the time. I am a firm believer that each kata has specific techniques or abilities that are meant to be learned through it. Examples: Seisan (13) is meant to teach mobility in five directions, Naihanchi is meant to teach stability and flewidity against a wall.
But if I had to pick a favorite kata it woud be Sunsu the only true Isshin Ryu kata. It teaches chinkuchi, sanchin, mobility, transition, toe ripping, and a few others.
