*laughs* I just love biology and life sciences. XD That and I watch a lot of nature shows.
Ahh okay. When you said "flowers never before seen" it automatically makes my mind go to "whole new species of flowers" rather than "hybrids" until mentioned. Might want to tweak your wording there. Like I said though, hybrid breeding is very hard to do and it seems to me you're detracting from the salt part of the Essence to focus more on the flower side you tossed in there. This'll make it way more complicated and if you really want a flower power Raevan, I'd look into flower-based Essences or souls. D:
On a side note about flowers for competitions, her creating her own show winning hybrids would be cheating in the event, don't you think? Usually during or after the fact florists are asked to give the judges or (if it's a garden club) the panel just how they grew such a bloom and just imagining a flower into being wouldn't be fair to the other competitors and likely get her stripped of her award and banned from entering again.
Back on line...Even if you don't delve into the science aspect of it, it is still there and valid. D: And you saying her having a power to bring any flower idea to life (even if you plan for just the simplistic stuff) is on that line. Again, it also derails the base idea of the Essence - salt that nourishes the soil rather than prevents anything planted there from growing. I know you're set on plant based powers, but remember, it's the salt that holds the power, not the flowers that grow from it. The way I picture the Essence sitting in the vial is just that; salt in a vial. No flowers, just a vial half filled with white crystals. The salt might cause flowers to bloom right then and there (though the more I explain this, the more I think that's really stretching from the original concept, especially since anything could really grow there once it was put down, especially if there were seeds in the ground before the fact), but that's just an attachment to the Essence.
I think what you need to do, really, is focus on the salt. I know you want anthokinesis, but the more you delve into that want, the more you're pulling away from the strong base idea that makes the most sense and works the best. 'Salt that nourishes the earth it's cast upon and helps along/causes plant life to grow where it usually wouldn't thanks to given circumstances'. Simple, easy, and there's plenty of room for powers and personality to come from that (a lot of the Raevan's personality stems from the Essence. Needless to say the Essence has a LOT of effect on them). If, after you've looked away from the flower tie in with this Essence (or even trash it, as I think would be best really other than the 'super fertilizer' idea you got there), and still want your flower power Raevan, try looking into a flower soul. You'd still have that power of the salt, but you'd also be able to say she'd (simply and related to the salt) that that specie of flowers grows the best under her care because of the soul and Essence. The salt will still make the ground fertile again and allow for crops and whatnot to grow, but with her soul as a certain flower she'd have control over that one type, get it? It keeps her simple and also makes sure she's not crazy powerful with the plant life like you wanted. How does that sound Orion?
EDIT: I made a minor change to my last paragraph. It was late last night when I posted it initially so when I looked again this morning I saw something I could add.

Hm. You're making many extremely valid points. And I'm thankful because you're ultimately helping me out with planning things for the Raevan/essence/soul - for that I'm very appreciative Ravi. I'll respond to what you have posed to me in the morning. :3 I'd respond now but the day has been long and I'm a little fried from it all. I'd like to make credible valid points back. :B LOL

:3 Another thing to consider is your soul choice. Since mythical things are on the table -- is there a mythical creature of any kind that ties in with anthokinesis? Forest spirits and whatnot? Because if so, you can kill two birds with one stone.

Mmk! I'm now up and refreshed after catching up on the many hours of sleep I'd been losing lately. xD
Hmm. This is true. I hadn't researched too much into flower/gardening competitions to be honest. xD It was just a thought that had popped into my head and I was entertaining. If I did do that though - it could be something drama related to happen to the Raevan. Though I wouldn't want to put her through that. D:
Like I said last night, you make many valid points. I'm glad you brought them to my attention. I'm also glad I slept on it because I think I had a good epiphany with what to do in regards to the fel/Raevan. Instead of making her a full Anthokinetic, where she can spontaneously grow things, I have her exactly as you brought up: a super fertilizer. If she is in possession of the seeds, she can make them grow into full maturity in a matter of seconds. Also if she senses their presence or sees their sprouts, she can enhance their growth at the same time. Within this, she can still alter different things like conventional size, color, etc. She herself will be lending her own energy into the seeds/flowers/crops/plants/etc so at first she won't be able to do it a lot or in a mass amount in one go, as it'd make her faint or extremely tired, but as she grows she'll contain more stamina within herself. This will also allow her to effect all things, instead of just flowers. But the bigger they are, the harder and more energy it would take until she gets to that level. Like growing an oak tree. She wouldn't be able to get it past the sapling stage without passing out as a first born. Maybe not even that. That seems to make a better fit doesn't it? o3o
Edit;; @Atma XD Didn't see your post there. xD /didn't refresh before posting/ There's wood Nymph's and faeries. But I didn't know how inspiring they would be. Especially since the lore on faeries is a lot different then how people have come to view them in like say, the movie Pixie Hollow with Tinkerbell and all them. /had to watch it with his nieces - it wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be/

Gonna tell you right now Orion - drama is ESSENTIAL to growth and development in any character, not just the Raevans (though it is pretty much required here). It can't be all sunshine and butterflies all the time, that'd get boring and nothing would happen. D: Even if YOU don't want to put her through something, it might be for the best overall for her development and characterization. Just ask any owner in Lab, they probably had their character go through something that they opposed or what not for the sake of bettering their Raevan.
*thinks on what you say*
Now you're starting to get what I'm saying and going back to the base idea. :3 You've even thought of a weakness to those powers that would be good for drama or conflict, which is good too. Also makes me think she'd have a little satchel of seeds on her at all times and that's cute. The whole 'altering color' thing really should only come into play if she has a flower (or dryad/nymph/plant being like Atma said) for a soul, truly. The size, however, might be doable if the plant is renowned for large size? Think climbing ivy or sunflowers. o3o But really, the salt itself has NOTHING to do with altering the plants in terms of color or blossom numbers/fullness, only helping them to grow in soil that was otherwise barren and not suitable for plant life. The salt is about the earth, not about the plants that grow there, okay? Like I said, don't try to derail the original idea, even if you really want the anthokinesis. I really like the base idea, but stretching it will only be your downfall. D:
But yes, other than that part about the altering the plants that she could help grow in the soil, everything seems to be falling into place. :3 I really like that you're flexible and willing to listen and change your ideas, it's refreshing and I have been bitched out at for giving my honest opinion in quests before (not here though). Pointing at what Atma said above, if you want to look for nature spirits, try monstropedia.org or wikipedia. You should find a decent handful of plant-related stuff there. Monstropedia especially because they tend to list the ye olde sort of information on creatures that has since been changed by the ages and popular culture. :3

Hope you don't mind me taking a swing at Lette since everyone else is concentrating on your Essence <3 NAME : Trinity Nicolet Smathers, aka Lette GENDER : Female AGE : 24 OCCUPATION : Mechanic // Freelance Tattoo Artist RACE : Human LIKES : Any form of body art; Driving around on her crotch rocket ...lol what's a crotch rocket?; Fast cars; Coffee (preferably Vanilla Almond); The country side; Drawing; People; Risk-taking (sky-diving, skinny dipping, jay walking – though nothing too dangerous I wouldn't count jay walking as a risk... xD everyone's done it at some point and it's not even a legit law to break.); Dressing risqué DISLIKES : People who have no idea what they are talking about - Ignorance; Posers Hey, now D: Everyone's gotta start somewhere. Eh, I think anyone and everyone can be considered a "poser" at some point in their life, so this essentially means she hates everyone -claps for Lette-; Two-faced liars; Wimps; Lemons; Ignorance; Alcoholics She seems to have a lot more likes than dislikes; maybe you could narrow down her Likes section so it's even with her Dislikes? LOOKS : Standing at 5'6", Trinity sets forth an imposing figure for her size. Moderately proportioned, with a full figure, and thick, curly, long black hair over piercing silver eyes is usually the first things noticed about her. Riding by with tight jeans and a leather jacket, or walking down the street in a skirt and stiletto boots with a high collar, is her usual choice of clothing. Through an incident while in technical school, Trinity also wears glasses, something she thinks enhances her beauty, rather than detract from it.
PERSONALITY : Trinity, known by Lette to friends, has always been someone who lives her life to the fullest. Known to get loud, once her mouth gets running it's most likely not going to stop, with no censors or predilections of limits *, unless someone distracts her or lets her know just how unwarranted her opinion is. She’s mostly so loud and rambunctious in an attempt to hide her feelings of inadequacies - that she’s not good enough for her friends and family, resulting in many nights where she’s cried herself to sleep. Why does she feel this way? There's nothing in her history that explains this, so it seems quite useless and a "pity me" tactic for no real reason other than to get Lette attention, and if she can't get attention on her own merit (ie; the personality that she shows to everyone) then it's not a very effective personality at all, is it?
Lette is also a very responsible person having held down jobs while in school - at her parent’s request no less (so as to imbue her with a sense of value and accountability). She even took up caring for the families’ horses and household pets, developing a sense of care-taking for things, something she found she quite enjoys.
Lette also has a rather infectious mood, always smiling, with a witty joke on the tip of her tongue, causing her to never lack for a friend to hang out with due to that. On the flipside of things, her temper is one to match the gods. While the fireworks can be something to watch, thankfully it takes her awhile to boil up and let loose. With the way you first described her anger, it seemed like she would blow up at the tiniest thing--that IS what the gods generally do--so perhaps a different/better description can be used so it doesn't come off as contradictory Infringing on her family and friends, insulting her beliefs with no consideration to her viewpoint * - This seems hypocritical to me, since from the description of her mouth not having any limits, it makes me think she would do the exact same thing to someone else but get mad about it if it's done to her., or lying to her face are usually surefire ways to set her off and cause her to break your nose.
HISTORY : Trinity grew up in a 5-story mansion, under the guidance of a tycoon business owner of a father, and ace lawyer as a mom. All of her life, everything she did was supported by her parents, who had adopted the mantra of allowing their child to do whatever she wanted to do, as the skies were the limit. This screams "spoiled rotten" to me.
As the years passed, the simple life of a hardworking Gaia citizen appealed more and more to her - getting a little grease on her elbows was exactly what she wanted. After having everything handed to her from birth without question, why on earth would she want to actually do hard work and manual labor? Explaining her intentions to her parents, she was extremely surprised that they stood by their word and allowed her the free will, without any familial punishments, to do what it was that she wanted to do. This seems a little crazy; again, she's been given everything and anything she could possibly want from her parents, why would her asking for something else (regardless of the fact that it's wanting to work like a normal citizen) be surprising to her? It contradicts what is presented earlier, as there's no given reason for such a feeling.
Following high school, Trinity went straight into technical school, where she excelled in her studies to become a mechanic. Mastering the different brands, systems, and works with little difficulty. While in school, a classmate lit a welding tool with no warning. Thankfully, she wasn’t looking at it directly, but has ended up having to obtain glasses due to the light searing into her cornea. This, also, doesn't work; the only way to get your eyes hurt from looking at a welding tool is if you are staring directly at the flame (or a less immediate effect of getting the smoke in your eyes) but it wouldn't make you blind. Besides that, the effect you're talking about is a long term one that welders complain about having after having worked many years. It seems like a silly excuse to have her wear glasses, honestly; can't she just have naturally poor eye sight?
With her parent’s help, she set-up a shop, with a nice sized garage and office, with an extra room just in case she ever felt the need to impart her love for the arts upon willing flesh. I'm sorry, but she would NEED to have gotten a license to be a legal tattoo artist, whether she does it in a shop or in her living room. This can either be done by going to a school or apprenticing under an already licensed tattoo artist. Once that was done, she located and bought a trailer, fully ready to live life on her own terms. This is just me nitpicking, but since this is actually her first step into the work world and she needed her parents help to get it all set up (including her house, I assume), it doesn't seem like she is literally "fully ready to live life on her own terms". That would mean she does it all herself, with no help from anyone. Besides that, trailers... are pretty small and cramped. Is that all she could get? I mean, if that's her preference, I can't really fault her for it...> A > Sorry I didn't get to crit you during the rehoming event, but hopefully these points help...

@Ravi Oh I understand. ^^b It's in the growth req's. I'd probably still put her through it. I'll just be sad. And there will be drama once I obtain her/another Raevan - whenever that happens. My character in LoL is in the midst of a heavily dramatic event plot to occur on her. :3
Thanks. The thought came to me as I was drifting in and out of sleep and it stuck with me. ^^ And for the salt thing - it does fertilize the flowers into making them more vibrantly colored and fuller/bigger in size. Like any normal flower fertilizer would do just on steriods. xD So the size would apply but you're right on the changing of color other then making one of her flowers brighter/dimmer in color. I'll read into Dryads and other things. /bookmarks montropedia/ I had no idea there was such a site. Now that I know though, I will rape it. 8D /shot/ Also - in case you didn't know, here's a site for practically every known or used superpower that's been seen. They have over 400/600 different powers there? It's just something interesting and good to have: [x]
Oh it's no problem. I appreciate all opinions and help. I admit that I'm not the most amazing person when it comes to OC's and RPing. I've only been on Gaia since August and haven't got into the whole OC/RP seen until lately. So I know I have a lot of areas to grow. ^^ If I have to, I can always ditch the different coloring ideas and I'll be fine with that. She has the basic out line for Anthokinesis already. The fel even allows for her to make things more strong/dexterous so it's all good. Though I am going to sift through that website you gave me and see if I find anything that grabs my attention. ^^b
@Snoofz Hey! 8D WB. :3 Thanks for critiquing her for me! Lemme see what you have to say~
A crotch rocket is just the compact speedy motorcycles. I was going to link to an image of one that I think I could see Lette on but I can't decide which one I like of the two I've found. [x] [x]
Haha. I included jay-walking for lolz. xDDD But I can remove it if needed. ^^
Haha. She hates the right then posers. But I understand what you mean. I'll oblete that so as to remove confusion. She can just talk about it when she comes across it. And not in a general sense but a: "You're pissing me off. Stop. That's not who you are. 8|" And hmm. I see what you mean. I'll work on doing that. ^^
Many people have brought this up. I've been many to delete that section but I keep forgetting. Orz.
To the anger part - I'll work on the rewording so it's doesn't seem like a spitfire anger. To the hypocritical part. Hmm. Maybe I need to reword the no-limits mouth. She does take people's opinions into play - she's just doesn't care about censoring her mouth. She's gonna say what's on her mind even if it's inappropriate, you know? Like in the middle of a lecture, if she thinks that the presenters speech is all BS - she's going to tell it to them. If they can justify what they're saying though; she'll quiet down. ^^b
Does it? The spoiled rotten part? I was just saying that in the terms of what most parents say for their children. Like my parents always told me the skies were the limit on what you can do/accomplish. I was trying to put that across.
She wasn't necessarily handed things but I see what you mean. My intention (and I tried to fit it in but I exceed the word limit, orz) was that she saw the life, and the stresses accompanied with her parents lifestyles and realized that it wasn't for her. Lette's an independent girl, who doesn't like to be handed things, so she wouldn't live off her parents forever. She saw the life of someone working for their money more latitudinally as more appealing. She still gets help from her parents every now and again, but she's mostly supported on her own. And she was surprised because of the way people talk and then act? Higher class people might say they are behind their children 100% but then if they said their choice of an occupation was to be a mechanic, they would probably drop that familial support. Her parents though are behind her. I was trying to think in the terms of a real family, but I may have no got it across. :/
Ohh. I was under the impression that if you looked at the flame, whether directly or not, that it would damage your eyesight. I'll edit that out of something of the sort. ^^b
Oh she's licensed. I couldn't fit that into the history either, orz. And I believe you have to have a certain number of tattoos under your belt before you're fully licensed? The tattoo I got was from a guy on his way to be fully licensed but he still needed more tats in his portfolio. And he was independent. I could be wrong though - that or FL's laws may be different. >o>;;
Ah. The fully ready just means she's ready to get out there and get to work. Not necessarily all of that. Though I see your point. As to the size of trailers; there are many that are quite sizeable and not too cramped. I've been in many, and have lived in some, that seem to be like their actual houses but they aren't. You might be thinking of mobile homes, which are sometimes thought to be the same as trailers, and those are cramped. :3
And you're perfectly fine! Any crit from you is better then no crit. :D

Ah well...You're only allowed one Raevan ever in the shop Orion. n.n;; Unless I read that wrong and you mean her OR a Raevan from an event. o3o
On the subject of the flower colors and the salt making them more vibrant, I say that's really stretching, making the Essence overcomplicated, and also you're likely to tread into the territory of Sa'ida who's the Raevan that deals with colors. Like I said before, the salt's powers are really about the dirt, and only by (workable) extension is it about the flowers. I think it'd be in your best interest to focus on the fertilization of the earth and the the fullness and health of the plants that grow due to its influence rather than try to toss in colors or any other random trait. Remember we want simplicity. Also, if a flower is healthy, the colors are already vibrant, so that would be rather useless. Since you're so easy going and I really do like your idea, I really would think it best if you just trashed the colors idea and just stuck with the soil and fertilization. :3
And yeah, I happened on that site when I was still questing and it came in handy. nwn It's a bit lacking in a few areas, but I doubt it's very well known so that's why that happens. And I didn't know, so I'll have to take a look. :3
Well your outlook and willingness to make changes and just being all around flexible will mean you'll be able to go far. You've got a good disposition too so that's always a plus. And good luck on the search on that site. nwn Even the simplest soul will do and I think for you a flower in general would be right up your alley for a soul.

@Ravina XDDD Oh yes, I know. XD It was meant to imply the OR thing. Sorry about the confusion. ><
Mmk. I shall trash the colors idea unless I get a soul that gives me credible foundation to use it. ^^b
I haven't had the chance to peruse it hardcore, but it seems pretty interesting! I like it. And I hope you enjoy the powers website. I got addicted to it when I first found it and was just clicking on random powers to see what they were all about. xD
Thanks Ravi! I really appreciate that. :D I try to be flexible when I can. And we're not really disposing of the base idea so I'm all for working things out. Plus you can't get anywhere being a stick in the mud. :3 I think so as well. I'm either going to take a flower soul, stick with the butterfly, or do a flowery/earthy kind of thing if I find it on that website you linked me too. ^^b

You know, since s/he's mega-fertilizer, you could always work in your hybrid-flowers/colors thing later in her development... hybrids == gene splicing, so if your Raevan gets to the point where s/he can grow/nourish plots of flowers, s/he could eventually nurture certain hybrids out of her plots. It's not instantaneous, and basically would just mean she'd be an excellent gardner, but, hey! You'd still have some really awesome flowers in her habitat! 8D
