"Hello Rushia. You're dreaming right now."

The voice had an odd accent, one that really could not be placed. After a moment the darkness of sleep clarified to show a small circle of stone slabs, simply existing amidst the dark. There was a well in the center and a young man with long, pale blonde hair sat on it with his hands folded. He seemed to be looking directly at Rushia even though his eyes had neither iris or pupil.

"I am sorry to tell you but even if they heal your wings physically you will still be unable to ever fly. Your new wings will be forever weak and although dragons do not need wings alone to fly, some of that instinct from before these times remain. Your mind might realize you can fly but the spirit will not. But-" And he smiled softly. "I wouldn't interrupt your sleep like this if there was no hope whatsoever. There is a human traveling the mountains around Gen'yiel. He has white hair and can fix your wings so that when you come of age and take a Bound you will fly. You're going to wake up now, just for a little bit. The elder dragon is still nearby. Tell him they must fetch the white-haired human and that Thanos will know how to find him. Be quick about this, for you won't have much time before the elixirs take you into sleep again. None of you have much time. Good luck Rushia."

And the dream was gone and she was awake.

Thanos sighed, when he heard the human call out. "From what little I know of my father," he said, "there's no changing his mind...no placating him." The clarification that his father had described seeing the human in the air slightly boggled Thanos' mind - was his father really that ... insane? His head spinning, Thanos slowly wandered off through the caverns, intending to get out of the stone tunnels that suddenly seemed to press in on him, so that he could think.

Astalder stared at Fam as she clarified the situation with Thanos's father. The thought of it was just baffling, but he supposed it explained a thing or two. Shaking his head to himself, he glanced the other way to see the hatchling wandering off.

"Weird.." Blade uttered before looking up at the dragon by him. Astalder didn't say anything else, and just started walking through the tunnels once again. The human, shrugging, just went along with him, walking in the same general direction Fam had gone.

-Just as she woke up her head whipped up and looked for the Elder dragon shouting.-
WE NEED TO FIND THE WHITE-HAIRED HUMAN, THANOS CAN FIND HIM.. MUST FIND THE WHITE-HAIRED HUMAN THAT IS IN THE MOUNTAINS AROUND GEN'YEILD!!" FInd Thanos.."
-she then took a breath as she just realize she sounds completely out of her Dragon mind but she felt the tiredness come again.-
"I don't want Weak wings." -her head lowered as she fought the tiredness to see her message did go through.-

The elder was stunned for a moment after the outburst. He stared at her and then regained his composure.

"You're dreaming," he began, "You overheard... no... you didn't. You didn't overhear the fallen's rambling."

The dragon had watched over the ward for a long time. He had seen a lot of things in his life and dealt with a lot of dragons and their Bounds and all seemed to have incredible stories. He'd learned long ago not to dismiss them. And this, too many coincidences. Rushia had been talking to him when Thanos had visited his sire - she couldn't have overheard. Far too many coincidences for him to just ignore.

Besides, even if they were just chasing smoke and dreams, maybe it might help the hatchling to feel like he was doing something. Especially if he had the right dragons sent with him. The elder nodded gravely.

"We'll send Thanos," he said, "As soon as Fam returns we'll send him with an escort to find the human. Your wings won't be weak. Sleep now."

-Rushia's heart dropped when he first stated it was only a dream, then seemed confused as the elder started wondering off with his conversation, but hearing he'll send Thanos she slowly lowered her head back down.-
"He had no eyes."
-she then drifted back to sleep-

Passing by having just been released from rounds, the infirmary was in far more of a ruckus than usual, sounds mixed between scuffling younglings, mixed with a squeaky shouting down one carved out hallway mixed with that of desperate pleading suddenly busting down one of the chamber lanes.

"Take your scuffling elsewhere, young ones. Do not get underfoot with the staff," Padar commented while he passed by the ragtag group, not giving much of a look as it did not seem like anything serious.

Deciding to check in an make sure everything was alright, the dragon-knight stopped just short of the partition, waiting tail-a-twitching. His attention drifted from curtained hallway to curtained hallways as he waited for anyone passing by to ask if they needed assistance before he returned to his chambers where his bound had already headed.

He had heard of the fallen dragon that had been brought in earlier when the information had been passed down the lines, but being on duty elsewhere, he had not been one of the ones to retrieve nor see what shape the said dragon had arrived in when he had been delivered. Coincidence only seemed unlikely that the stir today in the infirmary would have to do with anything else.

The elder slipped out of Rushia's room, carefully keeping the curtain shut and in place. He stood there for a moment, looking at nothing, before turning his attention to the rest of the ward. He took care of the young dragons first.

"On with you," he said, knocking a couple over with a swat, "I've no time for this today. Lick your wounds yourselves." And at such a rebuke - one they'd probably heard before - they scattered, swarming past Padar and vanished down the corridors. Then the elder sighed and turned to the knight.

"Padar! Good to see you. What brings you here?" he asked, "Duty? Or lucky chance? I've had a lot of that today... you wouldn't have the time to go chasing a mystery for me, would you?"

The elder had been around long enough in the ward that he knew all the knights already, just by having to tend to wounds either suffered in battle or during their training as squires. He had also been around long enough that he felt no need to use the formal 'sir' when addressing knights, or any qualms about ordering them around like they were his instead of Lierce's.

As they went on through the halls, the pair paused as the faint sound of shouting could be heard some distance away. It was too distant to really know what was being said, but apparently something exciting was going on somewhere up ahead.

"Seems like Gen'yiel's really up in a stir today," commented the human. But he supposed there was somewhat of a good reason for it. It wasn't exactly everyday that a Fallen dropped out of the sky ranting about some flying human.

Astalder glanced over at him, then shrugged more or less. As odd as it was, he was sure the circle has experienced stranger things before.

He watched the elder scatter the littles and remembered his days of play and romp, getting tossed out of rooms to which he'd just head into the next that was available like the rest of them.

"Lucky for who?" Padar smiled at the elder. "Had a feeling the ward might be rather busy today so I thought I'd come by to offer any assistance needed before I turned in."

The knight settled on his haunches ready to listen, tail curled around his feet properly so as not to trip anyone that might pass by. "So what mystery has even you curious to solve?"

The dragon snorted.

"Pfah, I can handle this ward blind if I had to. But my mystery is beyond the bounds of these stone walls. That white-haired human the fallen was raging about keeps showing up. Dragons that should not know about him suddenly demand that he be found. I might be sending you down a false trail, but it may be worth looking... at least for a little while. And who knows? Maybe he is real. Human magic can do things ours can't. Either way..." The elder yawned, showing off a mouth of teeth, some missing, some broken. "We'd be lax to ignore it, I think. Apparently the little dragon - his name is Thanos - is the one to find him. His scent is still around that area there. See if you can't track him down and see if he knows anything about tracking, neh?"

And then the elder got a sly smile.

"Besides, might be a good chance to persuade him to join the knights, rather than his fallen brethren. He's still young and impressionable."

The sand-brown tail twitched from side to side again at the mention of the Fallen, filling in the silence as he conferred with his other half on the matter.

"You're correct that this should not be ignored. But we are talking about taking a little one out where a full dragon was taken down in flight." Padar's pale yellow eyes followed the elder, questioning. "Would I not be remiss in my duty to put him in that sort of danger? What could this little one have that would find this human you speak of?"

The elder snorted.

"Padar, I have no idea if this human even exists or if I just asked you to chase spirits and mist for me. But when there seems to be magic involved, you don't question. You do. You're starting to sound like a human. Question, question, question. We... older dragons... have a disadvantage, I think. We've taken on human traits from our Bounds. The dragons that are not yet Bound? They don't have that. If you're hunting mist, bring someone that doesn't question its existence. Suppose you do find the human and it is dangerous - just toss the little one off the cliff edge. He has fallen blood. He can fly."

The elder regarded Padar for a moment.

"That was a serious suggestion, not a jest. And here's an even more serious predicament: if you don't find him, I'll have to figure out why every light-blasted patient in the ward is having delusions of the same person. If it's a new disease I'll name it after you."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 31, 2010 10:04 pm

"Flying certainly did not help the previous dragon," Padar snorted back, ignoring the comments regarding bounds. "Myths do not bring dragons out of the sky. Something real does."

Padar got up off his haunches and gave a little shake from shoulder to tail tip loosening up the muscles beneath his armor. "I'll take the little one, this Thanos you speak of, but at the first sign of anything amiss, he's getting sent straight back here." If the elder was certain this little one was the only clue to what might have happened, then so be it.

Reaching the tunnel the elder had motioned toward, Padar gave a quick look behind him.

"So, how many diseases are in my name now? I think I've lost count," he chuckled before giving a bow of his head and taking his leave, looking for this little dragon that was spoken of.

((ooc: Not sure exactly how far down the tunnel Padar is, but I'm seeking to make a move of my own))

It didn't take very long for Thanos to realize he had somehow managed to wander in a circle, and that he was approaching the infirmary again. Wrinkling his nose at the thought of his father's insanity and rejection, the dragonet sighed. He really needed to get out of these tunnels. His thoughts were interrupted by the sight of a large dragon, one dressed in armor. "Excuse me," he said. "Can you help me find my way out of this mountain?"
