So much for a man's alcohol.

By now, Noctis was staring at Ishka with the appearance of half-listening-- but he was listening intently. She did a fairly good imitation of Haveni. Or at least, it wasn't a bad imitation.

"Do you see her here? You're a smart female, smart enough to know the definition of gone and left. So in answer to your question, yes, she did leave." His voice was slightly muffled now with food in his mouth. "You're too nosy. As a girl, you should know. Those words have no meaning coming from the wrong mouth. It's like sending a love letter by mail.

Oh, hi there, I'm in love with you from halfway across the ocean. I'm totally not cheating on you. Bye!"

Noctis was telling Ishka, in his own terms, that Haveni's words held no meaning unless said by Haveni herself, in person. In response to her next barrage of questions, Noctis tilted his head with an odd smile, his endless stomach never ceased eating. "What did you want me to say? For Haveni? Or for the food, drinks and entertainment? If it gets you off my back, I can oblige you with the answer you desire. As long as you keep out of my love life because it's none of your business."
PostPosted: Mon Mar 08, 2010 6:18 am

Ishka shook her head. Men like Noctis would never understand. Selfish. Greedy. Possessive.

Irresponsible.

Ishka felt torn between wanting to somehow help the fair-skinned girl, and wanting to tear them apart. It wasn't fair. Why didn't he understand, why didn't he take a moment to piece things together?!

It was maddening.

She slid off her stool but didn't land, her toes barely above the ground, hovering like the willo'wisp she was. She placed her hand on his shoulder, leaning in close to his ear, her long tresses of hair brushing against his cheek, and clouding the air with a rose-like perfume. "What I want you to say means nothing., now, does it? It's what you really want to say, isn't it?" She chuckled, using him to propel upwards and behind him into the air, tumbling gently in her gravity-less presence. "I do apologize, Noctis. My intentions may seem nosy, but really..." she sort of ended up upside down now, her hair swaying towards the ground. "I just want to see a happy ending, don't you?" she poked her index fingers together in some shy, innocent mannerism.

She expected this. No. She never would have expected something like...this. And yet, stepping in through the entrance she couldn't help but stare at her surroundings as well as the people moving about it. The smells, the lights, the movement. It was all so new and yet...not.

Rylia had been spending most of her time with Kiru and Azra'iel. But it had been like that for a while, especially after the incident some time ago. Passed time had brought about a deeper understanding of many things for her in recent travels. But despite that, and even taking an eternity to learn to speak correctly it seemed, she still an elementary understanding of how to deal with other beings like herself. Outside Azra'iel and Kiru of course.

Moving forward, ahead of Az and Kiru who was walking beside the constellation, she turned around, her head and eyes moving constantly. "Its....so big...and bright...." she whispered as she walked ahead of them, taking in the sights and even vaguely recognizing some of the faces in the area.

/ / /

With a large sigh, Kiru followed behind Rylia, watching as she looked around herself curiously. She obviously didn't really understand where she was and was slowly being absorbed into it. Sooner or later, she'd want to do something and probably drag them along to see the sights. He could already feel the headache he would soon feel coming on. Not only was this not his type of thing, but he had to be dragged into it by him. His claws dug into the ground somewhat at the thought of it as he walked only to turn his head up at the constellation. "You. Just what is this purpose of you bringing her here and dragging me into this as well?" he said, a rather annoyed expression plastered across his face.

Azra`iel all but swaggered down the festively decorated path toward the rebuilt village.
From what the Constellation had pieced together from Kiru's tales... when the homunculi
wasn't trying to drive him insane, anyway ...this was the village that Rylia originated from.
He did not know if the she recalled her time here very clearly, that was before Azra'iel
had known her; but when he had heard and shared the news of the festival about to occur
there, the dark twilif had readily agreed to take a break from her training to go.

He considered that excellent progress.

Not to mention attending the festival had the added bonus of annoying the snot out of the walking
handbag. Especially because Rylia had wanted to go and had gotten quietly excited as they drew closer.

Now the miserable lizard was whining... the day couldn't get better!

Azra'iel had considered simply ignoring Kiru, he really had... but... well, why should he?
Keeping watch from the corner of his eye and treading carefully, Azra'iel managed to make it seem as though
he had just narrowly avoided stepping on the near-swing of Kiru's lashing tail and exaggerated a tripping recovery.

"Oh-ho, why Kiru, you're still with us, my friend! I thought for sure you'd stayed back!"

Unable to suppress his smirk or stop himself from continuing to nettle the little homunculus,
the Constellation lengthened his stride and stepped over his nemesis to follow Rylia,
purposely ignoring the grumbled question.

Rylia smiled somewhat as she walked about, taking in the sights more then anything. The lights, the dancing if thats it was called, and then the smells. She didn't know what any of them were, but that didn't stop her from wanting to find the source and try it if it was some kind of food. But it wasn't just the smells or the food that excited her, but the stands with the people behind them calling her over to play a game or two. The only thing that was that each time she walked over, most of them asked her for some kind of payment in advance. She'd heard of this, but didn't know how to go about getting it since rocks obviously weren't accepted. She frowned, stopping and turned back to look at Azra'iel and Kiru. "Azra'iieeelll...Kirrruuuu....they want....money for this.." she said pointing at one of the stands next to her, which happened to be a stand selling pastries.

/ / /

Kiru growled lowly. He knew exactly just what was going on here and he didn't like it at all. Azra'iel was asking for it, and he'd get him back, somehow, someway, whether he liked it or not. He was lucky. Ohhhh, he was really lucky that Rylia wanted to come hre or he would have came up with reasons left and right as to why this was such a bad idea. Grumbling as he walked, his tail swishing back and forth, he found himself being toyed with. First, he almost stepped on his tail. AND THEN. AND THEN. He stepped right over him to follow after the squirt. He grumbled at the words the constellation spat, glaring up at him as he walked right in front of him.

"Oh I would have! I would have if the squirt had decided not to come. But don't think for a moment this little game you've started is over. Its not. You dragged me out here and I'm going to make sure you know how truly grateful I am of that!"

And with those words, he trotted behind Azra'iel, making haste to catch up. But rather then running past him, he jumped up onto the constellations pants, using his claws to latch on to his clothes and then slowly climbed up his leg, his back and onto the shoulder with a final leap on top of the poor constellations head, sitting atop with a wide smirk on his face.

"Not a bad view up here. I actually like it. Why don't you be a good constellation now and help the squirt. Currency isn't exactly my job. After all, this was your idea." he said finally feeling triumphant in this game of...tag.

Say, Loki...Did you know that I died?

... what was he supposed to say to that?

His body became rigid, uneasiness settling in his eyes and posture. He wanted to snort, to call her on her joke - if only it were that simple - but instead, he only found his brow drawing down, eyes burning not with his usual merriment, but with a different kind of intensity.

"Valkyrie, you... no," he set his jaw, glaring past her and into nothingness. "Eisha, are you a spirit... sent to guide lost souls? Or simply someone who refused to die?" He trailed off when pale fingers made contact with his face, but rather than let them settle, he flinched away, expression guarded.

Any notions he may have had of fleeing, rather than having to face the situation, faded when he considered her last words.

What you were or who you are is not what defines you..it's what you do that defines you.

Loki closed his eyes, taking a step back, then another. Was it really that simple? Could he just forget about who he used to be, and start over? Could he let go of a past he wasn't even certain of? In his heart, he already knew the answer.

"I... am much too block-headed to see things that way," he said, giving his head a slow shake. "I thank you for your kind advice, and I know how frustrating it is to attempt to aid another when they don't desire it, yet... I can't let go yet. I have to find who I am. By any means. But do not let this deter our merriment!" Offering a hand, he gestured over his shoulder with his thumb, toward the item stands, a crooked, familiar smile taking place of his solemn look.

"You glow, even in the daylight. Shall I find something to match this translucent skin of yours?"

-------------------------------------------

Stupidly, he found himself stammering like a fool. "I - it's not so strange," Kliment half-mumbled, casting his eyes to the ground. "To worry about a friend, so..."

Listening to Daskri go on and on nervously, trying to find a reason why he wasn't painting, as if to console him... made him feel immediately terrible for his silent accusations. What business was it of his if someone else wasn't keeping up with a hobby? Gods, he needed to keep his nose out of other people's lives. Perhaps it had been loneliness that had prompted such a concern.

Yet, he almost thought he felt appreciation from the other, for that selfish concern. Incredulous, he questioned him again, feeling very much like a heckling housewife. "You... I'm sorry, I..." He hung his head, feeling ever the fool. "I didn't mean to sound so angry. Forgive me, please. If you..."

He rubbed the back of his neck gingerly, bringing his head back up to look into Daskri's eyes. "I would be... honored, if you were to make me something. That is, if you wanted to. I - I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to..." He trailed off, making an awkward face and leaning to the side. Oh, he felt stupid. So very, very stupid.

Daskri fidgeted for a moment, his nervousness slowly fading at Kliment's words, how was it they could both be feeling so low..both looking so...soo uneasy with such simple sentiments. Kliment was being kind, worrying, and sweet and.."Gods..the two of us" daskri truly couldn't help himself, he smiled.

The grin on his face only managing to grow as he found himself laughing, stepping forwards to throw his arms around his friend and drag him into a strong hug. "Haha! We-were a regular pair of saps aren't we?" he felt oh so stupid..but oh so good too, like one of those odd fuzzy feelings that just wormed its way in, and the gods knew daskri was a sucker for kind words and encouragement. Tsk such a needy thing he was, what kind of artist needed to be urged to paint, relied on praise and endearment from others in order to feel the least bit inspired. Well apparently he did..

"Kliment my dear dear friend! Out of all the creatures in this world that I could paint anything for, you would be the first, and even if we two were the last on the planet, still YOU would be the first!!" he chuckled gleefully, giving kliment a squeeze. "This is funny you know, out of the two of us I should be better at all this-this talking, emotional stuff! Yet somehow you've surpassed me, now doesn't that make me childish....."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 10, 2010 8:41 pm

When Loki flinched away from her sentiment, backing away from her, it was as if he had somehow struck her. It surprised her, this feeling that now twisted her insides in a wounded symphony.

She stared at his outstretched hand ignoring his invitation, almost cautious to take it. "You think me to be some devil-ghost, or an abominable life-form, don't you?" her voice wavered ruefully. "That because I once died, I'm no longer real, or whole." Her hands had fallen limply at her sides. Why did such a thing shake her so? Alone, she hadn't cared what others would think of her, as long as they saw her and saw strength. "But I am still alive, I am still whole, I am not the person I once was, but I am still me...so why, why do you cringe away from me as if you were detested?!"

Truthfully, she had no idea why her emotions were so provoked by that simple action, or why they had the best of her now. It infuriated her, somehow.

Realistically, he should have been used to such expressions of affection from Daskri. Yet, his time apart had caused him to forget the constellation's lack of personal space, and so he was, again, thoroughly surprised when the other leapt upon him with a hug. No warning, no asking permission, just... leapt. Although he was startled, he still managed to admire the man for his audacity, something he lacked.

"Something to admire... will not be found in me," he stammered, body going limp for lack of anything else to do. He certainly couldn't hug him back - he had no experience in hugging! How long were they supposed to embrace? Where was he supposed to put his hands? Was he supposed to say something or just remain quiet? The mechanics of something as seemingly simple as hugging were beyond him.

Kliment nodded awkwardly, trying not to let his head explode from the way his heart pounded in it. Did all the blood rush to his head? Was he going to die? Was Daskri going to squeeze his insides out? Why was he panicking so much? He would probably never know.

"Erm, Daskri, I don't think hugs are meant to last this long." He squirmed a bit, as if trying to break free, although he put forth little effort. "Is this what friends are supposed to do...?"

--------------------------------------

Loki stared.

And stared.

As she went on, he could see her grow increasingly upset, and it baffled him. He hadn't even realized he'd moved away from her touch; it'd just felt so hot, for some reason. He knew she hadn't used any sort of magic on him, yet it hadn't felt like any touch he'd experienced before. Gods, was he going to combust? He immediately tossed the silly thought aside, adopting a more serious expression.

".... Foolish woman!" he half-bellowed, looking both incredibly anxious and, perhaps, just as hurt as she was. "And what would give you that idea? That I detest you? That I am disgusted by you? Look at me!" Stepping back, he gestured to himself. "If texts read true, I am the most detestable of all! Truly, I have no right to be in anyone's presence and be regarded with kindness!"

Raising his voice had not been his intention, and he regretted it immediately after. What if he only angered her more, and sent her on her way? He hadn't gotten this upset in a while, but he felt it was fairly natural for him to get irrationally angry, or jealous, or...

Calming himself, he released a great sigh, his shoulders sagging. His fury abated for the moment, Loki gripped her upper arms in his hands, staring intently into her eyes.

"I seem to have given you the wrong impression," he said steadily, although his voice held the slightest quiver, threatening to betray his countenance. "For that, I apologize. I had no intention of causing you to think I... felt any differently toward you, having heard that. You, of all people, I feel closest to, I..." He dropped his hands, then raised them to run his palms over his closed eyes.

"Silly Loki! Silly, silly Loki. Thinking he could do something right for once! I suppose I really am fated to be detested by all that I come across, save for the occasional equine!" To that, he laughed bitterly. "Forgive me, Eisha. I... should have warned you. Loki is... cursed."

The thought of being alone again terrified him. Somehow, he had managed to grow quite attached to the idea of the valkyrie being around, and hadn't even thought about her leaving. She sounded so wounded by his actions; would she leave now?

He... didn't want to think about it.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 10, 2010 10:12 pm

Loki's words and actions brought her back down to earth. She watched as he bitterly chastised himself in front of her, silent the whole time he spoke. She hadn't expected him to lash himself, but she understood why he did.

Eisha
raised her hands again to comfort him, but retracted them, and they lowered from his face and away. Instead, her arms found their way around his middle, her forehead pressed against his shoulder. She was rather short, afterall. "You're not cursed anymore." she spoke of how Ishka had healed him and the others, even though she knew what he really meant. "I do not detest Loki." She paused, and said the last phrase in old norse. "Because of Loki, I am not alone."

After a moment, she let him go. Her face at first was expressionless, calm as always, but her eyes were yet softened, and a small smile did curl on her delicate lips. "I'm sorry. I've fought in wars and have seen the hardships of battle and death, but I guess I'm still a girl after all, and can't best the ol' hissyfit."

"Hahaha...ahhh something to admire wont be found eh?! I disagree wholeheartedly kliment, you have quite a few traits I admire you know, even if you don't see them yourself" he chuckled softly, his grin mellowing ever so slightly as he dared to nuzzle his captured friend..Poor poorKliment, the man needed a lesson in love and affection! He also needed to learn how to take a compliment..Still...seeing him again did wonder's for daskri's mood. Like a bright light shining down an a dark dark place...

"Ohoo, then you have never been properly hugged" Eyes widening slightly at kliments mention of friends, a sly bemused look crossing his features for a moment "Friends? Kliment, you and I are hardly just friends.." daskri frowned slightly, loosening his grip on kliment lest he frighten the poor guy silent, daskri found that he often forgot that others were not as openly affectionate as he was. "You and I, we're the very best of friends, I'd dare to say two halves of one very strange coin. But at the very least, we are best friends" he nodded with absolute certainty, finally releasing kliment and patting him gingerly on the shoulder. "Now hows about I buy you something ah? This is after all a festival, and I've been entirely too dull and gloomy.."

His very very best friend...and maybe more then that? Daskri sometimes wondered what kliment was to him. He'd always been naturally drawn to the other. Whether it was because of his silent nature, or his strong spirit daskri couldn't be sure, but he'd always enjoyed kliments company. Either way he wasn't about to cause upset by thrusting unsure feelings upon the other, he liked what he had, considered kliments friendship precious, he wasn't about to chance ruining it.

The not-so-subtle p***k of claws climbing up his frame reminded Azra'iel that presenting
his back to the irascible Kiru was poor planning on his part. Luckily, the luck homunculus
wasn't that heavy and could climb like a squirrel.

Az growled under his breath. "Wrap that tail over my eyes, you nuisance, and we both fall."

Arriving next to Rylia, the Constellation felt a grin creep back over his face. The dark twilif
was frowning at the problem of money, but her eyes glittered with excitement. Laying a
hand on top of her head and speaking quickly with the pastry seller, Azra'iel exchanged
the tender for three of the warm berry pastries.

"Alright little one, lets go sit at the tables in the middle of this square here and eat
these; you can see much of the festival from there! Then you can decide where we're
going and what we're going to do next!"

Kiru wore a victorious expression on his face as he sat on the constellations head. He smirked as he stretched his legs, nice enough to not dig his claws into his scalp......much. However, after Azra'iel's growing and spewing of words, he made sure he felt a little more from one of his claws, though of course not enough to cause real injury. After all, free transportation was free transportation! And no other passengers to boot! "Or maybe just you. I could easily just climb to the back of your head and clothes as you tumble to the cold welcoming ground face first!" he said, a chuckle following not too long afterwards.

"A free ride is a free ride..." he whispered as he watched as Azra'iel walked over to Rylia. She had been standing next to a stand, a confused or was that a troubling look on her face? Either way, he watched as the light constellation trading what he believed to be some kind of currency for some of the soft looking pastries being sold there. "well aren't you just a nice guy for helping the squirt out! Tell me, do you get satisfaction from doing so or are you preparing yourself for the future?" he said, chuckling soon after.

Rylia had been standing there a couple of minutes, looking over the pastries in the stand when Azra'iel walked over. She blinked a few times, watching as he handed the person something and conversing with him softly at the same time while being given some of the yummy looking pastries he had! There was a smile on her face, since he laid a hand on her head, and an even bigger one when he was handing 3 of the food item she was looking at.

At his words, she smiled. "Okay!" she said softly as she went over to the table and sat down to enjoy a rich berry filled pastry. And warm too! She appeared just as hard as she could be sitting there, enjoying the small piece of bread.

"It sure doesn't take much to make her happy. Something as simple as bread" Kiru said watching her with some curiosity.

As she sat there, her eyes wandered the area around them, standing up just as she was finishing the small piece of berry-filled bread. "There.." she muttered as she seemed drawn to yet another stand, looking around at it and then behind her at the people. She smiled as she dashed about towards a random area and looked around, bringing her hand to her face. There certainly seemed to be quite a bit of familiar faces. She frowned and then looked over at a stand, the person behind it handing out a wand-like item to her. Blinking, she took the long stick like object and held it as the end was lit. Mesmerized by it, she ran over to Azra'iel to show him. "Look! look!" she said rather excitedly.

Est scoffed at the little being, content where he was, though he smelled a strange and alluring scent, craning his head, his eyes lazily drifted towards an exceptionally pretty pair of Constellations sitting apart from the others. It wasn't often that Est wanted things, usually the most reasonable of the three brothers, he went without unless it came to a willing female in the woods. But this was different. He very much wanted to talk to that girl. The one with lonely eyes and lovely horns. As he gazed dumbstruck by Etoile, Ro continued to pester their new little friend.

"Oh it's fun fun all the time, Widget and we go hunting all the time, sometimes for people or Constellations, sometimes for food. It depends on if Widget has a 'job' or not, he's a mercenary, so sometimes we get to hunt AND eat a Constellation," Ro panted, wagging their tail happily as Ale looked curiously between the eldest and where he was staring, their body getting up to get a better look at her.

From the back, Widdershin adjusted his weight comfortably and grunted, elbowing Ro in the throat, to let him know he was yapping too much. You didn't necessarily advertise to a spirit that you hunted your own kind for money, ruthlessly killing to make a living. He did well for himself, had a good house out in the woods, wonderful equipment, and when they had no time to hunt there was always food back at the lodge waiting. But it still wasn't something that came up in regular conversation.

Bahtier blinked slowly, glancing between the three different heads, though only the one seemed interested in chatting him up. The others seemed more interested in..well other things..it was rather fun though trying to keep track of each ones gaze and movements. Who controlled what when, how did they decide? So many questions..

"Ah, you hunt! That does sound rather fun, hee hee, I've never been myself, hunting and all that, or ah..mercenary-ing...." he shrugged, though the way the dog described it, it sounded like an exciting experience. All except for the eating part of course. Bahtier loved eating, but he just couldn't imagine eating a constellation..maybe it was because Alestro was so big, eating smaller things was probably natural to him.

He fidgeted slightly as he thought about it, wondering what it might be like to be eaten, just a ghost trapped in some big dogs stomach..."Mnn, you know..you should chat her up instead of just eying her. Some people find staring creeepy..Not me of course, but some people are strange like that" the poe snickered softly, catching a glimpse of the horned female..she looked all alone too.
