Rin visibly cringed, albeit slightly, at the sudden increase in light, a hand rising to shield her dark-accustomed eyes from the blazing 'sun' which illuminated the ring. She stepped backwards into the semi-shadow of an overhang near the doorway.

The silvery eevee immitated Rin with odd precision. His ears dipped and he crept backwards, tail swishing as he attempted to vanish beneath his trainer's shadow- made deeper in blackness by the brighter lights. It was wishful thinking, regardless, based on his shimmering, 'shiny' coat. Ugh.

Her lips slowly repeated the last move used, he eyes narrowing a little as the Typhlosion started to gleam brightly, lifting a hand slowly up to help block the light away.
Sunny Day
wasn't an attack move, she couldn't say she really knew what it did, other then make everything rather difficult to see.
peering through her fingers, interested in what was going to happen next, what this move was going to add to the battle.

She didn't doubt for one second, that even though the type advantages were slanted in favor of the water type, that it would in anyway stop... Pele was the pokemon's name? ... hm, the Typhlosion from a very sure victory. but she watched closely to... how it was going to win.

Lilith watched closely from behind her black framed glasses. "He's using sunny day for a good reason." She spoke to herself. She was studying the Typhlosion's attacks, weakness, and offense. She had her pokeball siting in front of her. "We'll try to have a change against him, Fenrir." Lilith said as she looked down at the pokeball. ~Sunny day will help Pele with the water moves by powering up it's fire moves.~ She thought to herself as she rested her hands under her chin. She was itching to fight Seth.

Sunny Day. Of course, it made perfect sense. Raising the power of Fire-type moves, while weakening those of Water. Still, the advantage was still there, even if it was smaller now. Shinju was still strong against Fire and the Typhlosion, Pele, weak against Water. Akemi and Shinju's chances at victory had been considerably lowered - not that the girl had ever counted on that anyway. She just wanted a good battle, and to see how well Shinju was doing. Some of the Wartortle's moves would most likely have to be replaced sooner or later.

After getting used to the bright light that now filled the space, Akemi commanded Shinju to attack once more. "Shinju, use Surf! Show them what you can do!"

The turtle pokémon then stepped back, readying itself for its most powerful move. It then started to spout water with all its might, flooding the arena. Even if they couldn't win, bringing Pele down to even half its health seemed like a good enough goal to the young Grunt.

As Akemi ordered her Wartortle to use Surf, Seth smirked. "Hmph. A commendable effort." His eyes following the wave of water as it crashed into Pele, threatening to knock her off her feet. Now wet, the Typhlosion was considerably grumpy and snarled.

"As you may already know. Sunny Day increases the the power of fire type attacks by 50% and lowers the power of water type attacks by 50%. But that's not all... Pele! Solar Beam now!"

The Typhlosion reared her head, red eyes flashing as the move that would normally taken a turn to charge, did so much quicker. Her maw parting and a brilliant beam of light shooting forth and towards the Wartortle.

Now THIS was what Akemi had not been prepared for. She usually stuck to moves of the same type as the pokémon using them, but she should have thought of the possibility. Solar Beam was super effective against her poor Wartortle, which now took the full effect of the attack. Luckily, due to the Typhlosion not getting a same type attack bonus, Shinju was left with just enough strength to stay standing. Pele's next attack would be its last, though. That much was obvious.

Shinju was in critical condition, and it had already mostly exhausted its water capacity, especially with Sunny Day in effect. Surf was out of the question, and Water Pulse wouldn't do much either. Akemi tightened her fists. She hated to see her partner get knocked around like that, but of course that was probably the point of the whole class from the very beginning.

After a moment of thinking, the Grunt prepared for the final attack. The Typhlosion would most likely be the victor of the battle, but Shinju wasn't going down without a fight at least. "Shinju, one more attack! Bubblebeam, now!" she shouted, and the turtle pokémon started blowing a cloud of bubbles. Not the most powerful attack one could think of, but it was all they had left. At least they could still do some damage before the battle was over.

Bright. Sunny day was a powerful move, and exceptionally bright, luckly his sunglasses had the same effect here they had in the sun and saved him from being blinded and he was able to watch as the Warturtle got cooked by the Typhlosion. It wouldn't be long now, the Warturtle would not be able to surive another attack.

He smirked to himself. At least he wouldn't be the only one who was crushed.

At the very least, Akemi could take pride in the fact that she did more damage to Seth's Pokemon than Panther did.

The Bubblebeam wasn't unexpected since he had seen the Wartortle's lineup before the battle even started. Seth watched with little interested as the stream of bubbles struck his fire type. The Sunny Day still in full effect and cutting the attack's power in half. Although she looked to be in discomfort, Pele survived easily.

"Eruption!" Was the single word Seth spoke, for the time being.

With the stomp of Pele's foot, the dirt floor of the arena buckled and out spewed bursts of super heated rock that rained down on the Wartortle. No matter what attack Seth chose, it probably would have been considered overkill, but he hardly seemed to care.

Given Shinju's already weakened condition from the last attack, no matter what move Pele had used it would still have knocked the Water pokémon out. As soon as Eruption was over and the arena returned to normal, Akemi rushed to her fainted companion and picked it up. She could hardly even carry Shinju, the turtle pokémon being half her weight and almost as big, but she still managed to drag it out of the ring. A visit to the infirmary would be in order, as using a Revive wasn't enough to fully restore a fainted pokémon's health.

The young Grunt bowed at Seth politely before completely exiting the battle ring and joining the other Grunts and Trainees, curious to see who would be picked next. In her mind, the girl swore to herself that the next time she had to battle Seth or another Elite Agent, she wouldn't go down as easily.

It was hot, she could feel the heat from the move from where she was standing, she couldn't imagine how intense it might have been up there.
To no surprise though, the move had finished off the Wartortle, but Faleen had to admit... the girl did allot better then Faleen expected her to. for such a timid looking girl, Faleen had expected a one hit KO.

Sunny day, and eruption... good fire type moves, great fire type moves apparently.
she hadn't quite understood type improving moves like that. but now that she had witnessed how it worked, it intrigued her, she would have to learn about what other ones were out there.

watching the girl struggle with her somewhat large pokemon, the Grunt frowned a little, more out of confusion, most trainers would just pull there Pokemon back via Pokeball, why was she not doing that?

Rin stood rigidly, keeping against the wall with the flat of her back. It was bright, of course. But, to her, it was uncomfortably bright. Despite this being a learning experience, she seemed unphased by the end of battle- neither surprised by the overkill nor sedated to have guessed the obvious outcome. Just.. uncomfortable at the lingering brightness, accentuated by the eruption technique.

Nails 'veee'd through clenched teeth, as if attempting a very quiet and displeased growl. He took a step forward, pulling out ever so slightly from Rin's relatively small shadow. He shoulders hunched down, paws out with tiny fox-like claws extended. Rin, however, ignored his aggitation, the Rocket as exciting as a shadowy statue.

The shift in the room temperature was noted. Seth's battle strategy was noted. Even the Grunt's incompetency was noted. Though, in this note, Kunai made certain to distinguish the fact that this agent had done vaguely better than the previous grunt.

Then again, what was to be expected? To find a mine full of diamonds in this batch of Agents? If only Team Rocket were so lucky! No, this was a necessary procedure.

Only two grunts had been humiliated. The pink haired agent glanced through the crowd for only a moment to try to predict who would be next. It wouldn't do to have such a short class, after all. Otherwise, only some would learn something, while the others got off Scott-free.

Not surprisingly, the Wartortle went down and the Typhlosion was recalled back to her Pokeball. The bright light faded and the temperature then returned to normal. So far neither grunt had shown any common sense in battle. Even though Seth's was meant to improve their grunts, it was still disappointing that Team Rocket had recruited such losers.

"Only idiots and amateurs put more than two damaging attacks of the same type on a Pokemon, and even two is pushing it unless you have a good reason. Not to mention Hidden Power is a complete waste of time! Get rid of it and Bubblebeam, and give it something useful like dig. Or evolve the damn thing already and give it earthquake."

Yes, the fact that her wartortle was past the point of evolution had not escaped Seth's notice, and he found it pathetic.

However, the elite then lifted a brow when the girl picked up her Pokemon.

"You have got to be kidding me. Are you so dense that you don't even know how to use a pokeball?" Seth scoffed and then looked towards the rest of the crowd. His finger pointed at the girl in the ridiculous ninja attire. "You." Apparently Rin was the next one up.

(( By the way Thanassa. You need to take off Bubblebeam anyway because Wartortle can't learn it in the most recent generation. Also, if you're going to have Hidden Power you need to list its type and power in your journal. ))

Lilith saw the Wartortle fall after Pele had used Eruption. " Seems like the wartortle needed a better varity of attacks." She said to herself, seeing the trainer pick up the pokemon. She scoffed for she new that was the purpose of a pokeball. She glared as someone else was picked besides her. She knew better than to speak out of term.

((Okay. ^^; Better reason to replace it when it came up in this context. I'll update Shinju's moveset before I roleplay any battles with her again..))

"Shinju can't evolve, Sir..." Akemi replied in a low tone, using a Revive and spraying some Super Potion on her beat up Wartortle. "And the reason why I didn't return her to her ball was because it's better to tend to the wounds when she's out, sir." Finally, the turtle pokémon had recovered well enough to stand on its own once more, and Akemi returned it to its ball in a red flash. Her thick black bangs covered her downcast face, hiding her pained expression. She knew she had no chance, but she wasn't expecting to fail this bad. To get chewed out like this...

Akemi moved to the back of the group, biting her lip to keep the tears back as she feverishly went through her mind to come up with two Technical Machines that she could use for Shinju. Another Grunt was called up to the arena, but she hardly paid any attention anymore.
