The sexually transferred diseases go as easy between man and woman, as they go between man and man. None has "taught" me to be this way, except perhaps God. I have always searched for the Truth, and when i became religous, i asked God for knowledge, and possibly matching Wisdom, because i wanted to understand why there were so many religions, why were they all claiming the Truth, when it was not possible that they all were? God did show me ... that is my impression. As for me needing help? I see God as my judge, and you .... i still pity you, because there is no point in hating. There is nothing gained by hating. There is nothing gained by not understanding. What is the CORE of your religion? Mine is to understand, and to care. One might call it, to Love. When I was a teenager, I "knew" more than I do now... Which I guess is how it is supposed to be, as it normally is a sign that a person is learning how to cope with the responsibility of making their own decisions, and sticking to those decisions... and at that age, it is by design that we are following the way we are brought up.
It wasn't until I graduated and stepped into the real world that I started having to wrestle with the "facts" that I grew up learning, and that maybe they weren't as factual as I had so vehemently believed. It was a major wake-up call to me, and also something that I see as by design... I think the first real questioning we take upon ourselves is kinda like a mental version of our adult rite-of-passage... When we grow up enough to realize that the adults in our life are just human, too, no more and no less than we ourselves are.
The thing is, God is God... If we don't question Him or about Him (Her is some instances) we aren't really seeking the truth, we are just taking what we have heard for granted...
We are meant to question God, that's how we were created. We were given free-will, because we were meant to make our own decisions, it gives them meaning. When free-will is thrown out the window though, we just blindly believe everything that we are told...
When we try to find the answers for ourselves, we are giving meaning to faith, because we cultivate something more substantial than blindness... We learn how to see... and then lead others who want help... but blind people who have no direction are not very well fit to lead other blind people...
Yes, religious texts are very condemning of certain practices and behaviors... Yet there are many things we all tend to ignore. We nit-pick the things that we want to draw attention to... I think pretty much every religious system that has laws has been abused this way... So picking on people who choose a certain sexual lifestyle, but forgetting about people who pork when they have 'clean' meat is pretty much a big bunch of shenanigans...Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the Qur'an have eating restrictions as well...
Do you condemn all of the USA for eating cheeseburgers? How about all of Asia for eating shrimp and pork? Do you condemn all of a certain group of people for their eating lifestyle? If the answer is no, then you have no solid foundation for condemning an entire group of people for their sexual lifestyle... The same law that was written against homosexuality also included the laws about what is alright to eat... You can't pick and choose laws to the exclusion of others...
I kinda find it ironic that when I was a teenager, we were made to memorize entire chunks of scripture so that we could "be better witnesses to the unbelievers"... I always wondered what good that would do, because the people that we were supposed to go and talk to DIDN'T BELIEVE in the Bible, so what would those words mean to them...
The point is driven home in this thread, where, as a Christian, anything you quote from the Qur'an means minimal to me on a spiritual level, although I do respect it. You could show me verses all day, and I would just nod my head politely and hope you finish soon... It isn't the scriptures of any religion that holds meaning for non-believers... It's the actions of the people who believe and follow those texts that make a statement to non-believers...
Hostile condemnation on those who don't necessarily line up with the way your texts say a person HAS to be doesn't really help people now does it?
God is capable of doing what He has reserved for Himself to do... He is the One Who will judge us in the end, not you, me, or anyone else, so your opinions about homosexuality, "The Right Way To Think", and your judgments on who makes it to Heaven and who goes to Hell really only are worth something to yourself...
At the same time, if this is how you are taught, for now, you need to listen. One day you will be put in a place where you will have to question the set of beliefs you hold as concrete right now... There is flaws that are with you now, but one day, when God puts you to your test, your faith will be purified as gold with-in a fire. You will take with you what you are meant to keep from your beliefs that you hold now. Hopefully, the ones that do you no spiritual good will be left from you so that your faith will be pure... Until then, it may be better to learn to be understanding of people, even if you cannot agree with them.
I believe that Allah is a very loving God, as I know that the laws that were laid down in the Qur'an seem laid out in such a way as to be nurturing, even more so than the Old Testament of the Bible... From what little I know of it, there are several things laid out that are considered wrong, but the Qur'an does not give those who follow it the liberty to condemn those who are wrong to Hell.
I do admire how steadfast you are in your faith, and I believe one day you will bless many people because of that steadfastness... but anger and condemnation is not something that God wants us to walk in. Please take time to reconsider tolerance for those who do not believe as you do, it does not mean you have to accept their lifestyle as 'right', but maybe one day you might realize there are more important things on God's agenda than peeping in bedrooms to see who sleeps with who. OH shut the Hell up! Im so glad I finally finised reading this crap of yours Let me ask: how long did it take you to copy this word by word or did you just paste it? I don't plan on giving you any verse... And I completely expected your adolescent remark... ...but now I think we all have enough proof to know that you are not for real, and you have no respect for the religion you claim to follow, your fellow man, or God... If all you can say to me is, "Shut the Hell up!" then you are wasting the time of everyone who still reads the posts in this guild, and your own... This is a debate and discuss forum, not a convert or condemn guild... ...And the fact that you are so preoccupied by touching and sex says more than you want it to about your character... anywho, I just wanna point out a few thingsand be done....
1.) yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion; but that doesn't include the opinion that another person should die for being different.
2.) being gay doesn't give you venerial diseases, and having gay sex isn't any more risky disease-wise than hetero sex. also, it's not a choice.
3.) being gay has nothing to do with having been abused, whether sexually or otherwise. nor is it a contagious condition. it is simply a perfectly natural inclination or attraction towards the same gender. that is all.
I'm done. all to be said was said. just ugh.

I think anyone who is thoughtful enough to challenge the close-minded traditions of their religion in a compassionate and educated manner deserves respect...
I think in every mainstream religion there are prejudices and ignorance that is overlooked and even encouraged at times, and I think that God would never want us to submit ourselves willingly to that...
